The Lunar Deception

Rate this book
Alya has anxiety issues. Well, so do a lot of people. But not everyone explodes their enemies when they lose control.
Alya is a Geep, a mutant. Her genes were contaminated by an accident on the moon. This gives her extraordinary powers, but it also makes her a threat.
Determined to discover the secret of the contamination, Alya takes a position in the Lunar University. Unfortunately, the Continuum controls the moon, and it doesn’t like Geeps. There’s nothing the organisation would like better than to wipe out Alya’s people completely. But Alya is not about to let that happen.

Wow 5-*****s

1st let me tell you if you're in to such with intriguingly sophisticated characters unbelievable but more realistic than not, you have to give this book a chance. Really good read the storyline takes you to the place without having to imagine all complicated realities. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. You are honestly hooked after the first chapter.

I'm very hard on a Scientific Authority on all things quantum physics, i.e. living on the moon and such things. It has to explain the how , the when, what, and why , such extreme circumstances and measures is required of humanity without over simplified. I'm not a rocket scientist but I'm well read when it comes to science fiction.
I digress, sorry. This book takes a different perspective on global warming and the need for a new planet to live, with the consequences of building a habitat on the Moon and or Mars.
Then there's the issue of who police and maintain control over the whole affair. There's chaos, mutation, murder, Military force, who's really working for whom. It's truly a good change from predictable outcome to a storyline. Spoiler alert it do just end without a warning, which causes the reader to find out the outcome of the so-called cliffhanger ending is a surprise for sure..

So there is also romance a few surprises pop up. So give this book and the continuing saga a chance. It's not Star Wars or Star Trek but it has a Kick Ass Female as the main character and that's always a plus in any good plot. ******

I Love Science Fiction!

Have since I was a kid, back when those sci-fi were those double books: read one book on one side, turn it over and read a second book on the other side. Probably not the best authors in the world. But you could get paperbacks by Heinlein and other well known Sci-fi writers, and they were cheap back then!
I really enjoyed The Lunar Deception. It was well written, kept up a good pace so you didn't (couldn't!) get bored. The characters characters were interesting and well presented. I have a feeling I am going to come across a few of these folks in the coming books. I am ready to start book two of the series. You should try this authors books. This is the second series I am into, after finishing the last (#4) book of the Into The White series.

I love a good mystery!

This story takes place on the moon in the future. A young woman hunting for answers about a genetic mutation that occurred during the building of the moon base, both for herself and for a group wanting to make changes after a group had taken charge of control of the moon after the mutations appeared and now is trying to take control of a dying Earth. But is the person that sent her to the moon really the leader or is there someone else? And who can she really trust while finding answers on the moon?

I950 sf never thought of corporations as evil

That took Alien and Outland. No spoilers but a good story of a student who goes to the moon to do research. Interesting political dynamics and climate change. But that's what SF is about. Take the present and push it to what if........and there are more books.

Story about genetically altered people who all have different changes. Everyone thought it was eradicated years ago, but no such luck. Nobody seems to know if the changes are good or bad, especially the changed ones.
Looks like an interesting series, likely I'll read more in the series.

A few typos and some stretches of plausibility but very readable and an enjoyable and interesting world and main character.

I enjoyed the story, even if it was predictable. This probably would have been four stars if not for the poor editing, typos and outright mistakes.
