The Queen Geeks take on the prom queens in the third of the Queen Geek novels, hailed as "thoroughly enjoyable." ( Kliatt )

The Queen Geek Social Club includes a first generation geek, a tattooed misfit, a goth poetess, a mathlete, and an exchange student. And together they're so out, they're almost in

It's prom season, and Green Pines High is split between those who can afford the tickets and those who can't. So the Queen Geeks plan a low-cost Geek Prom. It'll be loads of work, especially when the popular kids do everything they can to stop it.

Friendships will be tested and boyfriends jilted. But when they expand the Geek Prom, hoping to make this the biggest prom on record, the girls will realize they're fighting for geeks everywhere.

Okay so here are the things I thought could be better and the things I thought were fantastic in this book:

Characters:
The best friend of the main character was so witty and fun even though I personally wouldn't ever have liked a character as wild as her, it was refreshing and added a nice mood to the beginning. She was interesting to "watch" and I couldn't help but laugh at her clumsiness.

Plot:
Loved the virtual prom idea but it should have been more thought out, I didn't understand really how they made everyone, everywhere see it and attend it. The plot was predictable and I would have liked it to have been a bit more realistic...

Setting:
I could've used more of the "where" and "when" in this book, I mean it was great, but it was 99% and the picky girl that I am, it only needed 1% to be the best book I've ever read.

I'd recommend to every geek in the world! :)

It's been awhile since The Queen Geek Social Club has taken their next step in trying to conquer the world. And Becca is getting pretty antsy about the sudden lack of ideas.

Desperately trying to become sane once again, she's on the hunt to find that one thing that everyone is crazy about. Is it just a coincidence or luck that prom season has just arrived?

Despite the constant reminders from Fletcher and Carl, Shelby and Becca aren't too sure they want to accompany their boyfriends to the worst social event in the history of high school. Although Shelby actually wouldn't mind going with Fletcher, who is a shoo-in for court, choosing Fletcher's side could possibly push Becca over the edge, and we all know what kind of trouble that would cause.

What's Becca's solution to this problem? Geek Prom! The first ever prom that isn't about the fancy dresses, the overpriced tickets, and the need to become the queen and king for one night. Sure, it may take some time and lots of effort to complete this mission, especially when certain people, including boyfriends, aren't so hot on the idea that it is to be held on the same night as the "normal" prom.

All the Queen Geeks seem perfectly fine with this plan - who would dare cross Becca? Maybe Shelby? Trying to sustain her relationship with Fletcher while tending to Becca's crazy idea isn't the easiest thing in the world.

Of course, Shelby isn't the only one with love troubles. Carl is definitely not happy with Becca, but who needs him when the newest queen geek, Evie, is like her clone? And Shelby's dad just found himself in a pickle when a certain someone interrupts his relationship with Becca's mom.

Two proms, one night, plenty of drama.

Hilariously entertaining, PROM QUEEN GEEKS carries on the momentum from the previous two novels in the series. The characters are crazier, the relationships are even cuter, and the beginning, middle, and end will make you squeal with excitement. Laura Preble continues to satisfy her fans with this great series that will ultimately make the reader want to strike up their own Geek Prom.

Ripped. Stolen. Horribly misplaced from the Charybdis Blog:

…but the Charybdis looked at me forlornly (as much as a blog can look forlorn), and I just couldn’t resist. I have honestly read a million books, but whenever I try to do that massive review post something inevitably interrupts me. I think it’s one of those unwritten laws…like the one where you finally run out of patience and buy the book that you’ve been waiting for the library to get for AGES and the next week (as you are waiting nail-bitingly for the shipment to come) the book appears on the shelf.

So this isn’t the huge post that I’ve been promising, but instead a review of a book that we got over the summer and never got around to reviewing. Basically, there’s this girl, Shelby, who’s part of the “Queen Geek Society” with her friends, who are all geeks evidently. One has a crazy tattoo (apparently that makes you a geek now), an “artful goth poetess”, a math-lete, and a computer nerd from Australia. They’re getting together to host an alterna-prom (Which is a cool idea IF it’s all clandestine and secret-like) BUT *cue dramatic music* the non-geeks at school don’t like that the “Geek Prom” is actually competing with the real prom in popularity. O M G.

For starters: really. Can you say stereotype?I know I can. And I did. Frequently. Secondly: really. Can you say cliche? The book is a mix of “omgsupergeekpromawesome! lykomgmyboyfriendwantsmetogototherealpromwhatdoido? waitthere’sanewgirlwho’sgonnareplacemeWHAT? andIhazarobotmaidcuzmydadsamadscientistguy”. It then proceeds to degenerate into the old “I have to be in two places at once”. Like we’ve never read/seen/heard that one before. Prom Queen Geeks, I award thee with 3 neon green Converses out of 7.

I have no idea why, but I absolutely loved this series when I was younger. I did reread some parts of it a couple years ago too and still loved it. I would probably buy this just to keep it on shelf.

Awesome book--my only complaint is that it swore once in a while. The fact that teen sex was not endorsed by any of the girls (and the robot-mom-maid), made up for it.

Cute book. As always Shelby is confused and make a lot of mistakes but it works out for her in the end.
