Seventeen-year-old CJ Ainsworth doesn’t drive—not because she can’t, but because she won’t.

She’s been living with the guilt of being the sole survivor of the head-on collision that claimed her mother’s and sister’s lives. It’s the reason she refuses to get behind the wheel. It’s the reason her father has nearly abandoned her. It’s the reason she’s sent to piddle the summer away at her estranged Memaw’s house in Edisto Beach.

All CJ wants to do is isolate herself and make it to the trial at summer’s end, where she’ll testify against the stranger who couldn’t keep his car in its own lane.
She doesn’t expect to fall for a boy, especially not Jett Ramsey, a hotshot racing champion destined for greatness on the NASCAR circuit.

CJ’s resolve crumbles when she loses a bet that puts her squarely in Jett’s
driver’s seat. While he patiently reintroduces her to driving, they confide in each other, and CJ learns she’s not the only one silently suffering through a loss.

As their connection deepens, Jett’s focus on the track is called into question. CJ can't be the cause of another car crash, but her heart is broken either way. Can CJ learn to put her heart in drive? Or will she throw it in reverse?

*** Note: I received e-copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review. Many thank to publisher. ***

As Much As I Ever Could was wonderful YA contemporary romance that revolved around CJ grieving loss of mother and sister in accident. It was about getting over loss, giving second chance to life and love, learning to love yourself again, accepting the reality than running away, forgiveness, friendship, family, and racing.

Writing was smooth, gripping, and emotive. Loved the setting of Edisto Island, community, and Memaw’s sea themed house and its description. It made me want to pack my things and move in with her for whole summer. There was everything one want in YA contemporary. There was drama, family issues, friendship, car racing, rivalry, teenage angst, romance, misunderstanding, and development.

As Much As I Ever Could is a story that quickly pulled me in and had me more than happy to power through the book in a single sitting. Once I stared, I was desperate to see how everything came together, and I could not put it down.

As Much As I Ever Could is a book filled with emotion, one that deals with heavy topics well. I fell for the characters and all they had been through, crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. I admit to seeing some of the aspects coming – there were certain things you knew would play out considering the characters and what they had been through – and I do feel the romance developed a bit too quickly, but this wasn’t enough to lessen my enjoyment. I was hooked, I devoured it, and I’m certainly curious to see what else the author has to offer.

All in all, As Much As I Ever Could has me eager to read more Brandy Woods Snow.

I will be honest and say this author is very near and dear to me. But, she will be the first person to tell you I will not bite my tongue if I don't like something. I had the unique opportunity to watch this story grow from concept to finished product. Got to experience the joys with Brandy as she found little times throughout the week to put the words down on paper. Sent her a critique and let her know what I really thought. This book, seriously, is just amazing. I love the emotional impact and the way Brandy is able to pull you into the story and make you really care about the characters. CJ with her fears and doubts and Jett with his devil may care smile and thirst for life. Memaw and her big ole' (censored) the scenes with her were priceless and extremely HILARIOUS! Bo and his grown up name needs his own story! And his sister Gin is the sweetest person you could meet. What are you hiding Gin???? The setting!!! I could go on for days about her skills at really painting a vivid picture of the ocean, the sand, the heat, everything! This is a book I will recommend every day of the week! Make sure you get yourself a copy!

This was wonderful! Such a cute, heartfelt story with fun memorable characters. CJ/Cami is dealing with a major loss and is pushing all the good in her life away. Her father decides she is going to go stay with her grandmother in a small seaside town for the summer because of her morose attitude. Love that setting! Cami meets NASCAR hopeful, Jett, which causes some problems for her plans to remain unhappy and non-driving. Cami and Jett recognize a kindred spirit in each other; the connection is instant and won’t be denied. These two have some things to work through; there’s some teenage angst going on, but they are just what the other one needed. This story is only told from Cami’s view, but the author did a great job of showing the emotions Jett feels for Cami. This reminded me of a slightly more mature Sarah Dessen book; just the whole feel of the story, which I love, so I was really enjoying the whole impact of this story. This is an emotional story dealing with some difficult subjects, but there’s a ray of hope that touches the heart. Really loved this! This is my first book by this author, but after reading this, I’m excited to check out more! Such a touching read!

I loved this book.

First of all, I adored CJ. She was very likeable and even with her trauma, she still manages to be a strong woman.

Then, Jett, oh my, what a heartthrob. I think I fell in love with him too. He might be your typical mysterious guy, but his softer side is refreshing and cute.

The other characters are also fantastic. They are all very different and have amazing personalities. I really loved reading about them and it did make this book better.

I cried. Despite being an YA romance novel, it has such a powerful message. I was touched by the forgiveness and the way they handled every difficult situation. I lived with them, I cheered at the end and I adored the happy ending.

I normally don't read contemporary or romance novels, but this one was amazing and I'm glad I read it!

Disclaimer - I received a free digital download of this book by Filles Vertes Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

I found ‘As much as I ever could’ to be an incredibly moving read about young romance and overcoming life changing hurdles. It’s definitely a young adult/teenage book with the book being written in first person narrative of 17 year old CJ.
CJ lost herself when a road accident claims the lives of both her mother and sister, leaving her the sole survivor. The survivor guilt is dragging her under with no amount of therapy helping her through, will her father sending her to her estranged Memaw’s house help her find her way back or send her further off of the deep end?

The storyline was really enjoyable to read and really well thought out. I appreciated the struggles that all the main characters found themselves going through and even found myself going through them too. I would have liked to hear Jett’s point of view, just because I enjoy romance books more when you hear both the man and woman’s point of views, but it didn’t detract from the story or the book as a whole.

I liked that the book showed a healthy relationship with boundaries that were respected by both parties. I think it’s a really important time for romance books to encompass what a fulfilling and good relationship is rather than promoting the more toxic sides and romanticising things that shouldn’t necessarily be happening in relationships. I think it’s even more important in teenage/young adult romance.

I would definitely recommend this book to teenage/ young adult readers and enthusiasts.

This is my first Brandy Woods Snow novel and I have to admit she's easily become a fave author of mine now. The story was amazing. Snow is a great writer. Her descriptions throughout her writing were simply invigorating. The characters she brought to life left me speechless and I just wanted to learn more about them. This novel had a little bit of everything to satisfy your needs...romance, humor, sadness and so much more.

We meet CJ whose gone through a traumatic event in her life. After getting into a fatal car accident that took her mother and sister's lives, CJ has been feeling pretty guilty because she survived and they didn't. After that accident she became afraid to drive a car ever again. Her dad also felt some type of way towards her because of the accident, and that just made her feel even worse. As a result, CJ decided to go and live at her grandmother's home in Edisto beach. A tranquil place to get away. All she wants to do is to be able to heal from the tragedy and finally come face to face with the person who was behind the wheel of the car who claimed her mother and sister's lives. She meets handsome and dreamy Jett Ramsey who turns her life around and makes her face her fears of being behind the wheel again. After all he is a race car driver.

I really just loved this book. I love CJ's and Jett's chemistry. They supported each other in such a beautiful way. It's amazing how tragedy can bring two people close together, especially when both of those people have experienced it. That love for each other also helped bring down those stubborn walls that they both had put up for so long. Join CJ and Jett on their journey of love, healing, and facing your fears. Huge thanks to Files Vertes publishing and Candace Robinson for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I truly enjoyed it.

This book is amazing! I barely stopped for breaks after I started it. It has everything, great story, amazing writing, perfect descriptions, and wonderful characters. I got every emotion. It was sad, happy, sweet, swoony, with the perfect amount of humor.
CJ, our heroine is sent to spend the summer with her Memaw on Edisto Island. She has suffered a horrible tragedy and something needs to change for her so she can cope with her loss and self imposed guilt. She meets some great friends, Bo and Gin, as well as Jett with whom she has an instant connection. The story deals with CJ and Jett's individual issues as well as their developing relationship. I loved the support these two give each other. Jett is so patient while CJ works through multiple obstacles and in turn CJ helps him figure out a way to get things out in the open. The supporting characters are wonderful! Bo, Gin, Em, and Trent are great. They were mature and were such an integral part of the story. CJ's dad had some work to do, but he pulled through. Memaw gets the award for coolest grandma ever. She says it like it is and is there for a soft place to land. I can picture her squealing over the sign and it makes me laugh every time I think about it. There are other characters, some great and some not so great, but each had their place. No filler here. I could go on and on, there are so many wonderful moments in this book as well as lessons many of us have learned and continue to learn. Such a great read! Definitely added to my re-read shelf!

Let me begin by saying Brandy Woods Snow is a new author for me, but wow, she can certainly paint a picture with her descriptions. The ocean, the house, feelings, emotions. All of it -- the writing in this story is incredibly authentic. And I truly appreciated that the love aspect wasn't written in a way where 'boy saves girl.' CJ and Jett were both strong individuals whose strength grew with each other. Of course, there's the normal angsty aspect of teenagers trying to find their way, but that's part of what made the story so real. All of CJ's thoughts and fears are grounded in her reality.
There was one scene I wasn't overly fond of, but again, it was true to real life and written so incredibly well that I kind of felt like I was at the party watching CJ and trying to make my way over to her to warn her of what was coming. It's that well-written!
Overall, I loved the setting and all the characters in this story (well, maybe except one, but you'll have to read to see why), but MeMaw had to be one of my absolute favorite characters of all time. So, yes, I definitely recommend this story.

Heartwarming and beautiful, "As Much as I Ever Could" is a love story filled with hope that deftly portrays the many layers of life, loss, and love. The perfect amount of teen angst and drama, it drips with heart-melting lovely sweetness that will leave you feeling happy you dove into this Southern love story. It’s an enjoyable and highly satisfying experience to spend time with the book's honest and genuine characters. I adored the main character's love interest character, a fantastic book boyfriend indeed. C.J. was very sweet and I loved how she grew throughout the book. Memaw was a clear favorite of mine, such spunk and vigor for life combined with love.

This is the first book by Brandy Woods Snow that I have read, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Brandy sent an ARC of this book after we connected on Twitter in return for an honest review.

I absolutely adored this book. I love YA contemporary genres, and this book hit the spot. The setting was a beach town during the summer, with cute boys, new friendships, and a guarded main character. All ingredients for an awesome YA novel.

I was drawn into this book from the beginning, and just kept caring more and more for these characters as I read.

CJ, our main character, is guarded, and dealing with things that most people don’t have to. She’s handling things the only way she knows how, but needs some help working through things and moving on. Her character grows so much throughout this book. We see her actually start to heal and put herself back together with the help of some other badass characters. There’s a moment towards the end of the book where it seems that CJ is reverting back into her shell of numbness, but she comes out stronger, which I am glad to see.

Jett is the handsome love interest. He has some issues of his own to work out, and is also a bit guarded, so him and CJ help each other let their walls down.

Memaw is probably my favorite character in the whole book. She is such a free-spirited, spunky character that keeps it real, and I only hope I can be as cool as her when I get older.

There are also, many great side characters that help to push the story along, including Gin and Bo, siblings who are light hearted and loveable. And Rachel, who is on Jett’s racing team and stirs up so much trouble. 🙄

This book is one of healing and growth, and is so wholesome. It also shows you that it’s okay to ask for help and to lean on other people when you need to.

I definitely recommend this book.

“Let me tell you something. There ain’t a person in this world who doesn’t have scars. Some people have them on their skin. Some people have them on their hearts. Some have both. You hide yours because you’re afraid. Afraid to love. Afraid to lose. It’s in your hands to turn something you call ugly into something beautiful" I love this!!

CJ survived from a car accident that killed her mother and little sister.
She pushed everyone away and felt guilty over what happened. She hasn't been driving since the accident. I understand her. Goshh it's been 1 years or maybe more lol I got into an accident and I'm scared to drive till now.

Jett asdfghjkl I love him!! I loved the way he showed how much he wanted to be with CJ. How he trust her and tell her his secret.

Omg! I love Memaw!! She is an easy going character and damn what a cool grandma!

This book made me laugh then cry phewww the last parts hurt me but I feel proud at the same time to both CJ and Jett.

Thank you for As Much As I Ever Could ARC! Sorry for the late review.

I mean, I think it's a 5-star read all day long...LOL...but I did write it! Honestly though, my intention with this book was to illustrate the theme that in the aftermath of tragedy, there is beauty. That it is possible, and I wanted that message of hope to be delivered via the most beautiful place on Earth to me and my family--the place I, myself, have found a sense of healing and home. Thanks to everyone who takes time to read my book. I appreciate you all! - B

AS MUCH AS I EVER COULD is a Southern novel that reminds me of the great Sarah Dessen. You know, a lazy beach town, summer, and of course, romance. I love that CJ fights for what she wants, pushing through obstacles and whatnot. A strong female protagonist, she is.

The racing elements of the story combined with CJ’s fear of driving add a special flavor to the story.

Overall, another great novel by Brandy Woods Snow–don’t miss out and read it!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last. It is a perfect summer read for fans of Sarah Dessen. I feel like she did an excellent job portraying someone that recently lost a close family member and how she dealt with the grief felt very authentic. All of the characters were amazing and the story line was great.

I really enjoyed this book and the characters. It has a good story arc and is so cute it keeps you reading. Will make every single female reader want to find their Jett, too.

Caution:
Some of the content is a bit mature for younger readers. It’s definitely PG-13 due to alcohol/sex.

This book was one of my most anticipated releases, and I was so excited when Brandy sent me an advanced copy to review! Don't quote me on this, but I think that this might be the first book I've read where the sport that the love interest was involved in was racing.

If you're looking for a sweet, southern, summer read, this one is perfect! While the book tackles some not-so sweet subjects such as tragedy and survivor's guilt, at its core it's about love. That being said, it's made clear that love is only a motivator, and doesn't fix everything -- you have to put in the effort to fix yourself, too.

CJ goes through quite the transformation throughout the book. She starts off as a closed off, sad, angry, and quiet girl, still hurt and reeling from the loss of her mother and sister the year before. Through her relationship with Jett and her friendship with Gin and Bo, we get to see her transform into a strong, happy character. Her heart is always in the right place, and even when she's making tough decisions that hurt herself and others, she always means well and think she's doing what is best for them.

CJ and Jett's relationship is so sweet! Although I wouldn't necessarily call it a slow-burn, it develops nicely and what feels like realistically. They're a great match for each other (obviously), and it was interesting to see how Jett's life outside of CJ was comprised and played out throughout the book. I know it seems like it shouldn't be a big deal, but one of the moments in the book that I was glad to read was when Jett explicitly asked CJ for consent before they had sex. This book isn't graphic about it at all, but still it was nice to read it explicitly laid out on the text. You'd be surprised how many books don't mention it, or some that have even given the impression that asking for consent isn't important, since you should just know that have come across as extremely problematic to me, so needless to say I commend Brandy for including it! Overall, Jett was such a great guy, and very emotionally intelligent, which make for a great love interest and an even better book.

I would've liked to see a bit more character development from one of Jett's racing teammates, Rachel. I didn't like her -- at all. But I suppose that adds to the realism of the book, since some people just really suck, and we never get to see their redemption arc. Sometimes I think it's better that way.

Memaw, Gin, and Bo are great additions to the cast of characters. They're all so nice and supportive, even though some of their personalities couldn't be more different. CJ's dad also has a big transformation throughout the book, even though we don't learn about it until closer to the end.

I also love how detailed the cover is! There are some nods to plot points and a few moments in the book, especially CJ and Jett's first meeting that I couldn't appreciate until I finished the book! (I also read it on my Kindle, so I wasn't staring at the cover all the time.)

Overall, I really enjoyed this read. I've been reading a lot of new adult lately, so it was so much fun to jump back into YA! Big thanks to Brandy for the review copy. If you want to read your own, As Much As I Ever Could will be released by Filles Vertes Publishing on May 26!

"I hate him for having that power, but I hate myself most for wanting more- more of his time, more of his attention, more of him."

I'm very grateful for receiving an eARC of this book. This did not affect my review. Brandy Woods Snow earned these 5 stars because of the amazing story she created.

CJ is the main character of As Much As I Ever Could. After she survived the car accident that killed her mother and sister, CJ hasn't been able to get behind the steering wheel again and drive a car. She has been drowning in guilt and pushing away everybody around her. When her therapist suggested going away for a while, CJ's father was happy to oblige and send her off to her grandmother in Edisto.

The moment CJ arrives in Edisto, she immediately gets acquainted with Gin, Bo and Jett. Against her expectations, the wall around CJ begins to crumble, especially when she's around the hot racing champion Jett Ramsey. Jett starts helping CJ to get her driving again and as they grow closer, Jett becomes distracted. But being distracted on the racing circuit is dangerous...

I've never been this hooked on a contemporary book without any fantasy elements. The emotional rollercoaster. Damn. This book made me laugh, feel wholesome and even cry like a baby. The characters have so much depth and it's really hard to not feel for them. They have been through a lot and those events shaped a lot of their traits. That made them real and easy to connect to.

Read this book. You won't regret it. It only takes a few hours and it's definitely worth it. I usually prefer fantasy, but the emotional rollercoaster of As Much As I Ever Could was so intense that it made me feel more than a lot of fantasy books.

Thanks to Filles Vertes Publishing for providing a digital ARC of As Much As I Ever Could via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so, so hard for me to rank. The writing, prose, and voice were all incredible and I had really really high hopes with the opening but a combination of the pacing and me currently grieving for what this book could have been force me to give a lower rating. As Much As I Ever Could has some really sweet scenes and great messages about grief and moving on (and there were definitely a handful of individual lines that I'm obsessed with) but I was so convinced this was a Wattpad book just copy and pasted to print that I just spent 30 minutes googing to try and find out if that was the case.

I'm not insulting Wattpad books because I read way to much Wattpad for that so let me explain. Most Wattpad stories are 'write as you go'. You develop a main plot, but you're not going to captivate readers if they have to get through months of a time of relationship development so you have to rush a relationship starting. By the time you have a big audience, you're done with the pain plot and the couple is already madly in love so you have to keep cycle through writing in a conflict then dissolving it a few chapters later. It works in serial format, but it doesn't work in a novel. This book's love interest fell head over heals way too quickly (before the halfway point). From there on out, the book felt like it was needlessly being stretched out. When you've declared yourselves each other's soulmates there are only so many "oopsies miscommunication now we're in a fight" scenes you can write and resolve without losing an audience.

A satisfying summer romance set in picturesque Edisto--a small beach town--what could be better than that?

CJ doesn't drive. After a horrific car accident that kills her mom and sister, CJ suffers survivor's guilt. Her father becomes a shell of a man--sad. silent, unreachable. He drops CJ off at a small grocery store in Edisto, South Carolina, where she'll be staying with her Memaw for the summer.

While waiting for her ride, CJ meets locals Jen and Bo and hot guy Jett. Although instantly attracted to Jett, CJ is less inclined when she finds out he's a hot shot driver destined for NASCAR.

Jett has his own problems, but with CJ's friendship, he begins to open up and deal with problems. Both characters help each other which is a fresh look at YA romance. CJ is no princess waiting to be saved. She is much stronger than she is vulnerable. Even in moments she seems weak, there is an underlying strength. Teen readers and romance readers need more stories where women are portrayed as strong even if they appear broken,

Edisto is a compelling setting in that it sets up for the perfect beach read. Throw this novel into your beach bag and hit the beach. It has all the summer vibes necessary for a smoldering romance that is hard to resist.

Perfect for anyone who loves a small town romance or readers who love tales of the South and fast cars!

Recommended grade 9 and up and for all romance fans.

I read the first chapter of As Much As I Ever Could whilst I had some free time before heading out for a few hours and boy was I frustrated about having to put it down. This beautiful story about strength and healing takes hold straight away and leaves you wanting to know more. As soon as I was able, I picked up my Kindle again and didn't stop reading until the end. I can't believe this is only the author's second book because it's so well written and has you right there in the story experiencing everything with the characters. There were parts that made me laugh, some that made me want to cry and others that had me yearning for the kind of relationship CJ and Jett had. There's some amazing secondary characters - everyone needs a Memaw in their life, and there's also one character you'll dislike right from the first moment of meeting her - every good romance needs a villain, right? I kept having to tell myself not to rush ahead whilst reading because even though I wanted to find out if CJ and Jett would last past the summer, I also didn't want to miss a single thing that happened between this couple. Brandy Woods Snow is a new author to me and I'm looking forward to following her journey towards success!

I am seriously pleased with this book. The characters are very real and dealing with some heavy stuff as best they can and even the supporting characters have an arc. The issues are realistic, and the lessons are hard, but there are no heroes and damsels in distress. Through soul searching, talking to loved ones and therapists, and taking real responsibility, each character does a little growing and makes the positive changes in their own lives, and I loved that.

When I chose this book, I did not realize it was set in South Carolina, at the beach - the place where I spent so much time over the summers as a child too. But the author’s descriptions of the smells and sounds, the weather and the way sand gets everywhere, and the lovely houses on stilts that mean vacation-home to me made me yearn for my summer time childhood.

Finally, I know this is the author’s second book, but on the sentence level, she blew me away more than a few times. Every so often, she included just the right expressive verb, just the perfect simile for how a character felt, or the exact right amount of details for a small facial or hand gesture so I could see it perfectly in my mind. Each time, I was kicked out of the narrative to give a little mental kudos.

I was offered a free copy of the ebook by the author in exchange for an honest review, but I would have bought this book anyway. It fills a hole in my classroom library - so many of my male students asked about racing books and so many of my female student asked about romances that were also suspenseful or action-packed. This will be a great addition.

Opinions: In my honest opinion, Snow had a great concept but did not pursue its full potential. Everything was perfectly okay, giving me just enough to hang on to but not enough to fully appreciate the story, character development, or themes. I was touched by CJ's perseverance and evident growth as she learned to be honest with herself and people trying to help her - I learned quite a bit from our protagonist who has suffered more than most at that age but handled it far better that I could've imagined! Despite my adoration of CJ, I was unable to comprehend the romance between she and Jett. While I understand the concept of the book is 'true love will find its way', these are still teenagers who make decisions based on emotion. If CJ sees a threat (Jett's high speed driving), she wouldn't run towards it no matter how beautiful - she would run away due to the lasting guilt and PTSD she hasn't stopped talking about. Granted, because these are teenagers who make decisions based on emotion, maybe CJ did see the beautiful thing and give in. Either way, I believe As Much As I Ever Could is a thrilling, brilliant story about coming of age and learning how your heart works. It wasn't for me, but it is certainly for somebody! There's no doubt that this is a fantastic book.

I received this book as an arc from the author but that in no way affects my opinion.

I truly loved this book. It was so fluffy and cute but dealt with a very tough topic that is sometimes hard to convey in a novel.

CJ is dealing with the loss of her mom and younger sister, this causes a rift between her and her father and what causes her to move to her memaws house for the summer. There she meets new friend, finds love and gets over her fear of driving all while learning to accept what happened and find peace.

As someone who lost someone only a few months ago I understand the grief CJ is facing and all of the what if’s she thinks.

Although this book deals with a series topic it still manages to be a fun and cute coming of age story about your first love. The only thing I find not bad but overdone in books is the classic I need think about myself before a relationship and a few weeks later they end up dating someone. Even though it’s overdone it doesn’t make any difference to me.

I truly love this book and am wanting to read more of the authors books.

This book is BEAUTIFUL, sooo BEAUTIFUL!!! It touched my heart in a million ways. I’m completely in love with Jett & C.J. ❤️

This story was filled with so much. It’s a YA Contemporary Romance and so much more. It’s about scars, inside & out, dealing with the loss of loved ones, friends, family, loving yourself and falling in love. I bought the book first & foremost for the gorgeous cover. Second the description intrigued me. But the story won me over!!!

I will say, with the paperback I received. The cover is awesome, but the font and formatting wasn’t great. The font is tiny and light and the beginning of each chapter the formatting had some errors. But, no matter, the story is worth it! And it will look great on my bookshelf!!! I’m sooo glad to have read it, it will stick with me for a long time!!!

This is a book about young love, moving on from tragedy, learning to trust, learning to forgive, and finding a way to love yourself, so you in turn can love others. The author takes you on emotional journey in the life’s of CJ and Jett, as they learn to navigate a world where they can trust and love each other and deal with the emotional baggage each carries. CJ and Jett have great chemistry, their feelings for each other are palpable, but Snow also weaves a great cast of supporting characters into the story…Memaw is the best. This is well written, enjoyable yet emotional book that will keep you enthralled from start to finish. Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
