Chronicles the life and times of Kerry Livgren, who was the heart and soul of the rock band, Kansas, from its humble beginnings until his conversion to Christianity and subsequent conflicts with other band members that forced him to leave for other pastures. The book is a matter-of-fact look at the influences upon Livgren as he was searching for spiritual fulfillment. He discusses what he was going through when writing certain songs, which is reflected in the discography of Kansas. He finally receives fulfillment through Jesus Christ, but when he tried to share the good news with other band members, he is shunned. A well written and well-rounded accounting of the life of rock and rollers in the 1970s and 1980s. A good read.
