Wynn was born an omega but raised as an assassin. His kind is weaker and needs protecting—at least that is what the alphas in power have been saying for decades. In his twenty years, Wynn has seen omegas stripped of their rights, only to have those rights placed in the hands of the nearest alpha. But Wynn is different, recruited at a young age, he’s always known his purpose, to eliminate the worst of the worst. Alphas who should be convicted of the most heinous crimes may avoid prison, but there is no avoiding the tip of Wynn’s blade. When he’s given his next mission, a billionaire alpha developing tech that could take even more autonomy away from omegas, he’s ready, willing and able to do what needs to be done.

From a gritty neighborhood on the wrong side of the tracks, Magnus has spent his life clawing his way to the top. He may have started in the slums, but now he’s a billionaire alpha whose name is the only one that matters when it comes to tech security and defense. He’s close to finally succeeding in creating the omega protection device that may have saved his brother’s life all those years ago. His success hasn’t come without sacrifice. His life is his work, so when a gorgeous omega with a golden gaze and pretty smile bumps into him, he doesn’t have time be interested. But, Magnus can’t ignore his inner wolf and soon all he wants is to be near Wynn, to see him, smell him, claim him.

Immediately after first contact, Wynn is conflicted. He’s positive that he’s never known an alpha like Magnus, but if his name has shown up on Wynn’s list then he must be evil. To think otherwise is to doubt his life’s devotion.
And it doesn’t take long for Magnus to have a list of questions a thousand miles long for Wynn, his secretive omega. But his questions don’t stop him from realizing Wynn isn’t just the bravest man he knows, he’s also his mate.

When outside forces begin to press in—Wynn’s jealous boss for one—the two must decide what their love is worth, because it may well cost them everything.

Fervor is the first book in the Omega Assassins Club. It is considerably more violent than the average Kiki book but with the same spice, humor, and heart. Readers should be aware Fervor contains mentions of graphic violence and abuse. However, a swoon-worthy HEA is guaranteed!

Another Kiki Burrelli win! ❤️ Badass omega assassins and goody two shoes Alphas. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 🥰

Wynn was a fascinating character with a tragic past and Magnus also had a tragedy within family in his past. The assassin falling for the guy he was supposed to eliminate? Not the freshest story trope but greatly done with a lot of action, thrill and emotions packed. Plus, as always, the sex was so hot. And I loved the epilogue when Wynn was still a badass omega even when he’s heavy with child. 😉 Can’t wait for more books in the series. I wish we get the story or Nolan or River the next. 😁

Kiki Burrelli, I won't doubt you ever again.
Such a fabulous premise.
It's still set in a world where Omega's have limited rights and Alpha's continue to abuse, subjugate and disrespect them. BUT Burrelli's world has baddass Omega assassins that get sent out on missions to take out the worst of the Alphas.

Wynn is an Omega assassin. He's someone who's sent in when brute force is needed, not so much for surveillance or gathering intelligence. That's not his forte so he's surprised when OAC sends him on a mission that requires stealth and info-gathering on a CEO that's developing an Omega tracking device. Their mistake is assuming Wynn is a mindless killer, because he's not. He has a conscious and he requires irrevocable proof of wrong doing because he takes a life. He finds himself in a situation where his mission makes less and less sense, and the Alpha in question surprises him at every corner.

Magnus, well mixed feelings. He's a smart idiot. Despite being a sweet, caring Alpha he still fucks up a lot. Doesn't listen. Doesn't trust. I honestly wanted to slap some sense into him. So yeah, he frustrated me a bit towards the end.
"You can't like him for his brains."
You really can't. I kind of wished Wynn made him grovel a bit.

This is a pretty light/feel good read despite it sounding like it might not be. Was it perfect, not really. There were times it was OTT, corny and pacing was a bit off towards the end of the book. But it's well written, for the most part, a unicorn amongst m-preg/omegaverse books. It also has an interesting and original premise. Overall, it's a win and I can't wait to jump into the next book.

Definitely recommending for those who enjoy omegaverse, a/b/o and m-preg themes!

This! This is what I’m talking about. Seeing Omegas taking the power and proving they are worthy and just as good as an alpha. Man, I loved this book! And I can’t wait to see the next book in this series. You guys know I love my omegas and I’m happy as a clam to see the way this book went. Love it.
Wynn has had a rough, rough life. But things changed for him at a young age when he was recruited for the OAC. For years, he and his fellow pack mates are taking down the dirty alphas, who are corrupt and have no qualms in raping and controlling an omega they can get their hands on. But when Wynn gets his next assignment, he knows something is off when his supposed target is not the man he’s been made out to be. The more Wynn gets to know Magnus, the more he knows something is very wrong and he’s right. Corruption has worked its way into the OAC and now they have to do everything they can to take it out before Wynn and everyone loses their lives. Including his pack mates.
I am so glad to see a book like this. So many times I’ve said and seen that omegas are painted as such weaklings, and in this book they are so not. They have proven they are as tough as alphas, even if they are smaller. They train and work hard to prove, they are just as worthy and need to stop having their rights taken away from them. Wynn is awesome. SO often he paints himself as the weakling on assignments only to fool the alphas who try to overtake him. But it takes its toll. Killing, whether it’s for justice or not, is a hard thing. It works on your psyche and mental stability. So, with the life Wynn had already had to live, it saddened me to have him question himself and feel bad. Granted, killing is not a great thing, but I’m not going to lie, sometimes people just need taken out. When Magnus comes in to his life and shows him that there is a softer side to alphas, it makes Wynn requestion his thoughts on things. But I love how well Magnus and Wynn are together. They mesh well. They work well together. And they are learning to read each other quite well.
I’m so excited about this series. It has just made my day.

Really enjoyed this one . A group of omega assassins trained to take down alphas who abuse omegas.
An alpha who fights his natural instincts and strives to make the world safer for omegas is being framed.
Possessive MC, betrayals , mates , and heats.

Favorite Quotes:

"I'm all in too, Magnus. The life I had … I can't have that and you. So I don't want it. I want you. I just want you."
.
"Call me mate again," he murmured quietly. "Please. Even though I don't deserve it. Even though you deserve better. Even though—" I kissed him softly on the nose. "Mate. You are my mate."

“Because I was omega enough to protect what was mine.”

Wynn drops in Magnus’s life confusing the man. Thinking Wynn is a prostitute,

“Shouldn’t I be pleased that he’d discovered a way to survive instead of angry at the how?”

and several times thinking Wynn is lying to him Magnus still falls for the omega.

“But Wynn didn’t seem like a shell. He was an entire ocean, as mysterious as the seas were deep.”

On the other hand, Wynn has a mission to do and saving Omegas was what he did. No matter who Magnus was or wasn’t.

“There was no way I would let Magnus, the way he got under my skin, or my ever-present guilt stop me from saving omegas who couldn’t save themselves.”

It was really nice to see Wynn, Omega, have such a strong character and Magnus, Alpha, be so gentle, caring and sweet.

I really enjoyed this action-packed, suspenseful, and steamy story. I loved that it was a little darker for a Kiki Burrelli book. It really drew me in and captivated me from the very beginning. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

This was entertaining. An omega, a secret member of a group of undercover omega assassins, falls in love with one of the alphas he is supposed to assassinate and they foil a dastardly plot. It is exactly frivolous and ridiculous and delightful as that sounds.

Okay, so I fully admit I am a total sucker for unexpectedly badass, dominant omegas who are convinced they’ll never turn into a submissive around the right alpha but when they do meet him they let him manhandle them and carry them from the room to the bed. *Swoons* This one has that trope in spades.

Fervor is set in the world of the Omega Assassins Club, a name a bit too ridiculously on the nose, in an oppressive world in which alphas are brutish beasts and omegas essentially their slaves. This group of omegas takes their power back and have trained to become assassins from a young age, taking jobs that target alphas who are the worst of the worst.

Until 21-year-old assassin Wynn takes a job that targets a tech billionaire who is apparently developing a nefarious omega tracker, but all is not what it seems. The alpha in question, Magnus, is kind and good-hearted, and the chip he’s developing is intended to protect omegas from abuse. He’s spent his life trying to overcome his nature and be a better man, too comfortable with computers and adorably awkward when it comes to wooing omegas. Wynn is the kind of omega assassin who asks questions until he’s convinced his targets deserve to die, and after he starts asking questions he falls in love with the man he’s meant to kill.

Why yes, the premise is just as ridiculous as it sounds, but this story was a fun time with interesting characters, sassy omegas and loads of spice. There is a dash of mpreg sprinkled in with the HEA but it wasn’t enough to be annoying (I’m not a huge fan of pregnancy-centered stories).

It was a little annoying how Magnus kept assuming Wynn was a hooker, and for a tech guy he made some odd decisions at times, but I liked how that got resolved in the end. Wynn wanted a partner who didn’t need an obedient omega and Magnus gave that to him.

My main issue with this book for being the first in a series was that the side characters in this weren’t particularly fleshed out and I didn’t feel a connection to them. I thought we’d get more back story and complexity to the found family of street urchin assassins but they were all pretty flat characters. The focus was on the main couple. So though I found the universe interesting and I loved this fun romp of a book and Magnus and Wynn together, I probably won’t be continuing on in the series because I found I didn’t care what happened to the side characters, who all get their own books.

Kiki Burrelli has started off with a great beginning for this new series.

Omega and Assassin, those two words just don't go together but Kiki made them work. She shows us that Omegas, even though "weak" they can kick ass and call a clean up crew to dispose of the body.

I'm looking forward to this series. Wondering who will be next in our OAC crew.

I knew how the book would end from the second chapter and that's definitely something I hate in books. The intrigue was so foreseeable that I jumped from the chapter 3 to 15 and had my theory confirmed. If I read all those chapters my disappointment would have been bigger. I'd have felt that I wasted my time. For me, there is nothing interesting about/in this book.

1 - For a werewolf/omegaverse novel, it might as well not be. It didn't bring anything original to the story.
2 - The author wanted to avoid clichés with a "strong" Omega but, concretely, in practice the outcome was a jumble of clichés that had the time to cool in other books.
3 - The intrigue isn't outstanding at all. I read similar books before and with time, it becomes harder and harder to surprise me.
4 - The typos are unacceptable and the cover is ... meh.

I can't rate a book that I didn't really read more than 1 star. This was the last chance for this author to please me and it didn't happen. Yet another author to join my blacklist, alas.

Eh. I’ve been reading Burrelli’s Lunar Wolves series which maybe set me up for failure here but they feel like they were written by verrry different authors. I do not have anything against mpreg, I’ve read some that I’ve really liked, but it’s not emotionally believable to me that an assassin who has been working since the age of 10 to eliminate alpha influence would just be like, yup, I love being pregnant immediately after getting out from under the thumb of a controlling boss. This is clearly going to be a whole series based on the pack of assassin’s that Wynn worked with and it would have been much more believable if he had become pregnant as a side arc in a follow up book.

An omega assassin falling for his alpha target? What's next!

I am officially in love with the world of the Omega Assassin's Club! Such a different take on things. The world is vibrant and alive. The characters are intriguing. Omegas oppression is rampant. The OAC was created to eliminate alphas who abuse their power by killing or severely harming omegas. This book has it all: daring, strong omegas, really evil alphas, really good alphas, betrayal, loyal friends, danger, unexpected love, and HEA. I couldn't put it down. You will love this book!
This tells the story of Wynn and Magnus. Magnus is trying to make the world a better, safer place for omegas, so no one else's little brother has to die. He doesn't know his competition not only wants his tech, but wants him dead. Wynn was assigned to kill him. Gathering Intel, he learns more about Magnus. Things don't add up. He not only can't kill Magnus, Wynn is falling for him. Together they will uncover a plot that could bring down the OAC; and Wynn will risk everything he holds dear to keep his alpha safe.
There is danger, an unexpected heat, steamy sex, trust issues, and the true meaning of family. Trigger: there is violence and death. You will come to care deeply for these men as you become embroiled in their lives. I loved this book. You need to: Get. It. Now. This is the first in a series. I can't wait to get the second book.
This book contains adult themes and language, violence, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

Wynn has lived a hard life and is fighting for what is right. Being born an Omega should not make you a third-class citizen but that is exactly what it does. Omegas have no rights and hardly any help. When he takes his latest assignment, he never thought he would find a man like Magnus. As Wynn begins to question the truth things begin to unravel and lies are beginning to show themselves. Magnus is not the man that he is portrayed to be. Can Wyn find out the truth before it is too late?

Magnus and Wynn’s story is a good read. I loved seeing their relationship build as their story progresses. Wynn is a smart man and thinks for himself, Magnus is a good man and fights for what is right proving that not all Alpha’s are bad. The two make a great couple and the love that they share shines through in all that they do. As the two try to figure out their feelings they must also find out the truth of what is going on. Secrets are revealed and the two men must figure out who they can truly trust and who is an enemy. Fervor is the first book in this new series. I enjoyed my introduction to this world. Each of the men on Wynn’s team have strong personalities and I am excited to see them each get their own stories.

Arc copy provided courtesy of LesCourt
All reviews are my voluntary and honest opinion.

I volunteered for this Arc because Omega assassins sounded pretty intriguing. I'm glad I did. This is my favorite type of Omega story. Omega's challenging the caste system and taking their rights back in an Alpha dominated society.

Wynn is an Omega assassin. He's been trained to take down criminal Alphas who pose a threat to Omegas who can't protect themselves.

His current target is Mangus, a CEO accused of making implantable chips to track Omegas. But something isn't right. Mangus isn't an asshole, his firm hires Omegas. He's not on a power trip. Wynn needs to get to the bottom of things, and get the Intel back to his boss, an Alpha who's supposed to be like Mangus, but who sets Wynn's wolf on edge.

Wynn is awesome, and I'm really interested in Nolan -- Wynn's loner pack mate -- too. Even their handler Remmington should get a story. This manages a good balance or romance and action. There's a bit of m-preg. And maybe my favorite bit of tech, the smart-toilet. Recommended!

This was a fast-moving, action-packed romance and a lot grittier than I’m used to reading from Kiki Burrelli, but I really loved it!
I was immediately sucked into this story and couldn’t put it down! It was such a suspenseful read that had me constantly guessing who the MC’s could trust and trying to figure out who exactly the bad guys were, because things are not at all as clear-cut as they seem at first.

Wynn and Magnus are both very well-rounded, interesting characters and really have the opposites-attract thing going for them. They are caught in a deadly web of lies and deceit, not an ideal start, but they still see something precious in each other. I really enjoyed seeing Wynn lower his defenses and start to trust in Magnus. They make mistakes along the way, but when they are together magic happens. I was absolutely enchanted by this couple, by the risks they took for each other and how they both fought to be (even) better men, inspired by love.

This is set in a different universe than the series that came before, but with equally fascinating world-building.

I’m super curious to see how the other omega assassins will fare. What a great start to a new series!

Great Beginning

I've enjoyed many books by Kiki Burrelli. I've been meaning to read this book for some time. Well one sleepless Monday morning after midnight I figured I'd listen to it until I fell asleep. Well I ended up hearing the entire book and that morning I was exhausted as I got ready for work. But I had experienced a wonderful story. It had been so entertaining I hadn't been able to fall asleep because I was enjoying it so much.

The concept of Omega Assassins was novel. Who would suspect a little twink of being capable of being able to overpower a large powerful Alpha let alone more than one? It was a deeply held belief of the evilness of Alpha which these tough Omegas had continually experienced. It made the Assassins determined to continue to help give justice to hurt and murdered Omegas.

I love the story. Watching Wynn accidentally find his mate, try to deny the attraction, and finally questioning all he been taught about Alphas. This is a violentvbut action-packed adventure filled romance. With twists and surprises at every turn.

HOW?! That’s all I need to know - how did this author manage to create two such epic books in one series???

I know I got it backwards, first starting the series with Quench, but I was so thoroughly impressed by the latter that I just had to read the other books in the series. Just like Quench, Fervor has it all. This is some crazy good writing, I love how Kiki Burrelli doesn’t insult the intelligence of her readers (as well as the characters in her book). This is legit all I’ve ever wanted to read in the omegaverse. This series has me on the edge of my seat. The books are intelligent, sweet but gut wrenching at the same time, with amazing, fully developed characters and razorsharp wit. I love how these omegas start life as the underdog in horrible conditions, but turn lemons into motherfucking margaritas that knock you on your ass and have you wondering what the hell just happened. This series is EVERYTHING.

Once again, there were some minor proofreading issues, but considering the quality of the series, I’ll take it. 5 stars aren’t enough.

I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.

This is a good start to a new series. There are definitely a lot of dark moments in this story, but the sweeter moments counter-balance nicely.

Wynn maybe an omega, a designation that society says can't take care of themselves due to being weaker than others, but he doesn't need some alpha to protect him. He's made it his life's work to stop Alphas who hurt omegas, working with the Omega Assassins Club (OAC) to ensure he only targets the worst of the worst. But his latest assignment has him questioning everything. Magnus has made it his life's work to try to help protect omegas. He can't resist his attraction to Wynn, even if he thinks Wynn is all kinds of wrong for him.

The story is really fast paced, lots of action and drama. Magnus and Wynn have a great chemistry. There were a lot of twists and turns to the story, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next story.

Loved it!

I loved this book. I enjoy alpha, beta and omega based books, but I love even more when the omega is strong and goes against the norm. This book has that in spades. Having the omega being a badass assassin was an epic first and I fell in love with Wynn immediately with his strength. I also enjoyed his tenderness as well as he found love with Magnus. I loved Magnus as well, an alpha who cares about equality and safety with omegas. ( lot of love going for this book) This book switched the stereotypes around in such a unique way. There was a lot of action, which is my favorite in a book, but there is also romance as Wynn and Magnus realize their feelings to one another. The bad guy turns out to be both manipulative and evil and it was great to see him go down. Love the secondary characters as well and can't wait to learn of the other omega assassins. Looking forward to the next book!

Wynn is an omega assassin sent to kill Magnus because of his invention he created to help track omega’s who are in trouble. Wynn is told that Magnus is trying to make it easier to harm omega’s rather than protect them. When Wynn meets Magnus he feels conflicted, Magnus doesn’t seem like any other alpha that Wynn has ever met. For Wynn to question the name on his list means he wouldn't be able to put his trust in the organization that helped to make him who he is.

Wynn is a badass omega, which is a nice change to see in the alpha/omega trope, usually the omega’s are weaker than alphas, so to see a series where that isn’t the case is nice. Magnus is a nice alpha who just wants to protect omegas , since he couldn’t protect one in his past. I really enjoyed both Wynn and Magnus as well as the dynamic between the two as well as the other omegas in the assassin group. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
