Boring Read

This was a meh read. This is the first book of the Club Desires series. This read was not my cup of tea. It was described as a Paranormal Reverse Harem, but it seemed more like a painful love triangle. I thought the story was boring. The characters were not interesting as the book was short and I couldn’t connect with them that much. I wished the story was longer so that we can see progression in the relationship. However, I think the real reason I would like the story to be longer is to develop the characters more to make a relatable connection with them. Also, the ending was too abrupt. I was confused as to why the story ended like that. I will check out some other Liz Gavin books, I just thought this book was not as good as it could have been. Overall, a boring read.

The goodreads blurb and cover need updating. The updated blurb pretty much gives everything away. Short ending at 70% and then followed by previews. Dual POV, sex and a pretty abrupt ending.

Hmm... not sure how much of this is in e-book format as opposed to Kindle.... (I have ebook freebie!)

We have the story of how Marcel is reduced to a Ghost by the witch he (arrogantly) abandoned; we have Clara, a 'super-TV-star' having a scene with Sam (and fucking it up royally by coming when she isn't (?) supposed to). Then we have "interludes", over the years, with Marcel where he make Clara climax repeatedly...

Bitty; not particularly coherent; no story - apart from Marcel/Clara; so am I MISSING something??

And NO, probably won't be BUYING much follow-on...

Oh, and BTW - this is not a reverse harem story (as far as I can tell - just a fuck all :))

The book description I read was more accurate than the one provided here on Goodreads.

I loved the way Marcel and Clara connected with each other! Too bad they weren’t able to do that more often.
I’d hoped Sam would have a bigger role in the story. Or maybe he will in the next book? I truly hope so!
This is obviously a book 1 or a prequel to a series.
Fortunately the intensity was high enough to look forward to what comes next!
What I didn’t like so much that I didn’t get to know the witch’s point of view. That would’ve really added to the story.

Haunted & Wicked by Liz Gavin is a story about why messing with the heart and body of a vodoo witch or priestess is a bad idea. This book is an entrancing story about a mismatched couple of a movie star Clara and a ghost Marcel who have lost their ability to be together due to one woman’s interference . This story is a steamy, sexy, and romantic ghost story. One of the best parts of this tale beyond it’s romantic nature is that the sex scenes in this book are so hot they practically gave me a fever. If you love a steamy love story like I do than this book is for you! Haunted & Wicked is a steamy, sexy, and romantic ghost story!

First of all, let me say, you can't live in the south for over twenty-five years and not know about Voodoo with it's mysteries and power. To me this is like listening to one of the Creole families telling a family tale and making me a part of it. What a terrific story with all the mysticism of New Orleans, the power of a voodoo curse, the thrill of a BDSM club, and the emotions of love. If this is an indication of what to expect in the series, sign me up yesterday for sure because I'll be first in line. This is awesome!

This is a shortish sexy read that starts at Club Desire a BDSM club that Marcel has been stuck there for over a century he was cursed but now he is a ghost. Clara is an empath and a famous movie star who goes to Club Desire to indulge in her fantasies and she meets Marcel, but how can they be together when he is a ghost?. Fantastic story I enjoyed it immensely and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I love Liz Gavin’s Club Desire stories. Marcel is one of my all time favorite characters. Cursed by a powerful witch to remain in his home, Marcel is forced to haunt Club Desire as a ghost. But once a year - on Halloween - he can take on a more corporeal form. His escapades - both before his death with many women - and after with Clara make for a fun, sexy story.

This is several short stories in one book, and I do mean very short. It's like a series of short stories about the same characters. It's to me not fulfilling and lacks in any real substance of storytelling. The author writes some wonderful romance novels and kinky stuff too, but this is lacking. Not to takeaway from this author's work, just this story series aren't that great or remembered.

This is an interesting take on a menage romance, entertaining but a quick read. Clara an actress, Sam the Dom and Marcel a ghost make a fun trio. A well written paranormal with a twist, intriguing characters and a sexual experience I've never read before make me want to read book two of Club Desire. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

A forever love and jealously that wants to destroy it.

I liked the idea of a ghost being trapped in a sex club. The feelings shared by Maren and Clare blossomed despite the fact he was a ghost. True lives knows no bounds, not even death. Looking forward to more Club Desire stories.

This little story made me yearning for more. There need to be more. Marcel is ghost but still so passionate, even if his past life was not so perfect from this point of view. Clara is so open-minded, so carrying. This short erotic story have great plot interwoven. Definitely worth reading.

This book was something to look forward to. A hot ghost haunt a club and just so happens to take an interest in you while you’re out for some fun. It takes a while to build but after that it escalates very quickly. If you’re in the mood for a hot ghost and a submissive woman looking for release, then this book is for you.
