Barbie and the Diamond Castle
Barbie & the Diamond Castle
Barbie returns in a brand-new musical fairy tale!
Far away, in a land of music and magic, live two beautiful girls. Liana and Alexa are best friends who share everything-especially their love of singing. One day, while walking through the forest, the girls find a magical mirror. As they clean the mirror and sing, something amazing happens! A girl named Melody appears in the mirror's surface. Melody tells the girls about the secret of the Diamond Castle. The Diamond Castle, Melody explains, is the home of all music, where three musical muses once resided-until one evil muse, Lydia, tried to take the castle for herself.

I did like parts of this book. The story was unique and interesting. The entire troll scene was weird. Parts seemed rushed, but, granted it is a Barbie book based on a Barbie movie written for a child audience. For the amount of characters and aimed audience age range, multiple characters having such similar names is really strange and can be confusing. The book having pictures is cool, although some didn't quite seem like the correct scenes for the particular pages they were on.

Reading this to my daughter, this is the biggest cheese. Not nearly as good as ALL the other Barbie books I have been forced :) to read to her. The toy makers were struggling to come up with a new doll for Christmas, but the storyline behind the doll is pretty cheesy. Maybe the movie will be better (which has been requested by my daughter so I guess the toy makers did their job), but I'm not holding my breath.
This is just trash......very disappointed.

Our girls just adore the Barbie movies (oh, the horror!) and our youngest got this book at the school book fair. It follows the movie very closely and our girls just adored it. I'm thrilled, though, that our daughter decided to donate the book to the library, now that we're finished. That should reduce the number of times I'm forced to read this again.

This book is easy for me, but I think sometime I should read some easy book. I think it's good for my reading. I like this book because I don't have to read something with a lot of word. Sometime I can look at the picture to understand more about the book. I think this book is very good I love it.

The pictures in here were my favorite than the pictures in the other ones because they weren't snapshots from the movie and they weren't photos of the dolls. Instead they were hand-drawn colored pictures. I thought the arkwork was really good. One of my favorite Barbie stories too.
