This is just a simple, sweet, slow burn romance between the unlikeliest couple who've been brought together by pure serendipity.
The H and the chambermaid trope has been done before, by authors such as Sharon Kendrick and Lynne Graham. I believe Carol Marinelli has also used it in a few of her earlier books. But this incarnation isn't fuelled by angst ridden conflict, revolving around an angry H, a big misunderstanding or huge errors in judgement.
Our MC's meet, are drawn to each other and gradually grow closer in spite of the inherent difficulties they'll face as individuals who occupy polar ends of the social spectrum.
He's the daredevil, crown prince playboy of Tulano and she's just an ordinary, introverted Sicilian chambermaid, training to become a massage therapist.
This is the H, Rafe:
Antoinetta and Rafe are the best friends of Aurora and Nico - the MC's from The Sicilian's Surprise Love-Child. In The Sicilian's Surprise Love-Child, Antoinette had jilted her bullying fiance on their wedding day. Her parents and entire extended family, had subsequently rejected her, without hearing her side of the story.
This is the heroine, Antoinetta:
It's about 5 years afterwards and she's back in Silibri, in an effort to breach this familial estrangement. Nothing seems to be working, though, because her relatives still despise and blame her, for the huge embarrassing fallout from her stunt as the runaway bride.
Rafe's hiding out from the tabloids, while recovering from a skiing accident. Antoinetta knows that he's a *VVIP* but is unaware that he's a prince. This is actually ironic, because everyone else knows that he's the infamous playboy prince. Nonetheless, our heroine isn't the type who gossips or reads the tabloids religiously.
He's drawn to the beautiful girl with the sad eyes and she's intrigued by the hot, secretive hunk who's always surrounded by a phalanx of bodyguards. They both know that nothing can come of their brief acquaintance, yet their inexplicably unable to fight their mutual chemistry.
Surprisingly, it's the shy heroine who throws caution to the winds, even after he makes his sobering, passion killing warning:

She decides to live in the moment:

He ends up extending his stay, after they sleep together and he even does something that's unprecedented: he begins to date her without making her sign a non disclosure agreement. Somehow, he just feels that she's different and that he can trust her:
‘She has not been vetted,’ his advisor warned. ‘And you still haven’t had her sign the NDA.’
Neither would he.
For this was too precious. And he told them none too gently to back off, and that he would deal with the fallout that would inevitably come from a run-in with the King.

The strength of this story rests in Carol Marinelli's ability to highlight the unique qualities of her MC's and place them within a world that's so easy to visualize. Much is said about the local culture, customs, food etc and many entertaining characters ( like Pino and Francesca ), introduced in The Sicilian's Surprise Love-Child, return to give a rousing encore.
The H's interfering father, poses the biggest obstacle to the MC's relationship. The snobbish king tries to bully the H into marrying an unknown woman and there are a few harsh recriminations shared between the MC's before the H pulls his head out of his ass and returns to grovel and propose.
The epilogue is a little lacking, since Carol M has been able to knock it out of the ballpark on quite a few occasions. I would've loved to read a long term epilogue, instead of one that's set just on the day of their ( first ) informal wedding.
I enjoyed The Sicilian's Surprise Love-Child more than this, because that was an angsty trainwreck and Aurora was a more dramatic, lively and entertaining heroine than the quieter Antoinetta. The heroine did reconcile with her parents, but it was done on her terms. It was also great to see a few cameo appearances by Aurora, Nico and baby Gabe.
Safety: No OW, no OM and no cheating. Both MC's are celibate during their separation of a week or so.

It's been a while since I've read a Harlequin Presents. They were always one of my go-to Romance books. This was just what I needed to read at this time. Nice and light and romantic with just the right amount of heat.
I love the "Royal" or "Prince/Princess" trope. I enjoy getting lost in these stories. Who does not love a good fairytale once in a while. Add the Christmas theme lurking behind this story and it was a perfect little book to curl up to!

Antonietta Ricci comes back to Sicily to try to resolve old wounds with her family, there she gets a job as a chambermaid at a luxury hotel. She is assigned to service the August Suite which is occupied by an important man. The two becomes interested in each other and start getting close, and end up falling in love, so now Rafe has to find a way to convince the royal family to accept her as his future wife and the woman he loved.
This was a sweet, romantic read. Harlequin Presents lovers will be entranced by it.

This was another treat from Carol Marinelli ... normally I am rather ambivalent over her books but recently she wrote some really great ones that I thoroughly enjoyed reading ....
The h had such dignity and class ... and she was such a sad person ... I was interested to read her book when she made an appearance in The Sicilian's Surprise Love-Child ...
CM didn't disappoint ... and loved the way H stood up to his father and came to the h ... wonderful reading ...

" is the story of Antonietta and Rafe.
A sweet Cinderella themed romance with a h who has run away from an effluent family and forced marriage, now working as a chambermaid to earn her living. Years later, she returns to her town to mend fences, but her parents shun her yet again. It is then she meets the H, who is a guest at her hotel, and sparks fly. Soon they embark in a passionate relationship..only for the h to realize that he a royal prince, and engaged to OW! Loads of drama, pushing away later, they have their HEA.
The book starts out very well, but by the end was a purely average read. The couple was..nice and there was minimal angst.
Good one time read.

Shunned by her family when she ran away from her wedding five years ago, Antonietta Ricci works as a chambermaid in her hometown Silibri in one of Nico's hotels. The same Nico and Aurora from The Sicilian's Surprise Love-Child which I haven't yet read. Her father was the Chief Fire Officer and is a prominent landowner there. She is also training as a part-time massage therapist. And that is how the story opens, with a prologue, where Aurora and Antonietta are discussing the latter's past. Twenty-six years old Antonietta is still hopeful that her family will take her back. She is holding on to it, at least till Christmas, which is a few months away.
The story then starts six months later, a few days before Christmas. A VIP guest under an alias is staying there at one of the exclusive suites to recover from some serious bruising and this time Antonietta is in-charge of that suite. Being the centre of gossip herself, Antonietta usually doesn't want anything to do with it. But, Rafe's sexy French accent made her want to know more about him, as did his bruises. Even I was curious about him, I mean who wouldn't. But Antonietta waiting for a summons from Rafe through her pager was amusing.
First time in HPland I've come across a not-so-put-together hero being introduced.
Their subtle flirtations, first conversation, it was rather dreamy. Rafe was pulled in by her sad eyes. And this dreamy vibe is there throughout this Christmas story of opening up your heart and falling in love. It was also cute to see them wanting to see the other the next day, even if Rafe never involved himself with a maid's histrionics and Antonietta usually avoided men. He was Crown Prince Rafael of Tulano after all.
I love story with girly friendships and strong women. And Aurora and Antonietta were just that. Though it is tough to stand up to your family, and I felt really bad for all the taunts Antonietta had to listen to from her relatives.
I have never said this before about a book but the care with which Rafe initiates her into sex was magical. What I mean is that the author has done a really beautiful job with writing their first time together. Especially after Sylvester Ricci, her second cousin and her ex-fiance is a creepy piece of crap. He put the fear of sex in her with his harrowing advances.
It has a romantic ending and a wonderful epilogue. The perfect read for this Christmas!
Also, this is my eighteenth read by Carol Marinelli and I absolutely adore her writing. Especially her medical titles.

I really enjoyed this book. I love Carol Marinelli’s work. Her stories are so well written and her prose just flows beautifully. Dialogue and inner thoughts are beautifully constructed and there is always lots of real emotion running through her stories. The characters have heart and depth.
We had met Antonietta in the previous book which told Nico and Aurora’s story, so it was nice to find out what happened to this sad heroine.
Her parents had disowned her after she jilted the horrible Sylvester, but she had come back to Sicily to work in Nico’s brand new hotel in the hope of building bridges with her family. (Personally, I would have just left them to it.)
Rafe is a playboy Prince, recovering from an accident and he is staying under a pseudonym in the hotel where Antonietta works. They share a deep, mutual attraction which is beautifully developed and which I found really well done and very sweet. We could see them falling in love even though they both knew they had no future together.
The story really shows us how his cold upbringing has affected him, and how even now his father intends him to marry an approved bride before he is allowed to shoulder some royal responsibilities. I loved how he made his father accept him marrying Antoinettta - the woman he loved; and I loved the way everyone participated in the surprise celebration and marriage at the end. My only complaint was how fast the denouement occurred and the lack of an epilogue.
I would have liked to see them a few years down the line, settled into their royal duties with a happy family and still friends with all the folk who had become Antoniettta’s real family.
Antonietta is a quiet heroine but was well worth getting to know. I found this book a really lovely romance and the only reason I have given it 4 stars rather than 5 is because it doesn’t quite reach the level of my favourite Marinell books such as “The Irresistible Russian Tycoon” and ‘The Russian Billionaires’ series.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review. Unusually, the quality of the copy was really poor - dropped lines, single words on a line, page numbers in the middle of the page - all of which made reading the book somewhat difficult - but I still managed to enjoy it.

I read this a long time ago. Truthfully I was looking for more details about how Aurora and Nico were doing in the future, the couple from the Sicilian’s Surprise Love-Child that I absolutely adored. I don’t remember anything, other than the h was the friend of Aurora and was first mentioned in that book.

This was a sensual, romantic, tender and sweet love story between Crown Prince Rafe and maid Antoinetta that I really liked. This wasn’t the most emotional intense romance that I have ever read, but it still was really good. I loved the romantic moments between Rafe and Antoinetta throughout the story and was kind surprised by the amount of them that were in this story because there was kind of a lot like their first date, first time, and of coarse the proposal scene at the end. It just warmed my heart and made me feel good while I was reading those moments between the pair. I swooned over Rafe quite a few times over the special moments that he made happen for the most deserving Antoinetta. It was just beautiful to see those romantic moments play out on the pages. They had an immediate connection with one another that drew them together from moment one and just continued on. I loved how they could truly be themselves with one another especially with Antoinetta not knowing Rafe’s identity from the very beginning, which made them bond as people and not just based on title. The love scenes were very sensual but very as well, sexier than I thought they were going to be, but that made it a even great surprise for me while reading it.
There were a couple of scenes I wish were included in the story that would have added a lot I think to the story. One I would have loved to have seen Antoinetta taking care of Rafe while he was injured and have more bonding moments that way. I also was waiting for a massage scene to happen and was kind of disappointed there wasn’t one especially since it mentioned that she was training to be a massage therapist, but that didn’t come play anywhere in context with the romance. I think it would just have added another sensual scene to the story that I could see being very intense and very steamy. It just wold have added another layer to the story.
Even though the believability of this story was a little bit out there, I still enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to especially with the lack of intensity in the emotional aspect of their story. There was not a lot of meat there in my opinion. Yes, there were obstacles and conflicts in their way for them to be together, but for the most part it wasn’t too dramatic or gut wrenching. Honestly I didn’t mind that it wasn’t over the top or dramatic because the story was good and I loved Antoinetta and Rafe and seeing them get together in the end because they just worked for me. Usually I would crucify a book like this with the lack of intensity, drama, or emotional development that would lead to that intense love story, but in this case it didn’t bother me, and I didn’t mind. Did I think that Antoinetta and Rafe were deeply and intensely in love with each other? Not exactly, but I could see they really cared about each other and wanted to be with each other in ever aspect. I think what really sold it over the top for me was the amount of romance that went into this story, which isn’t usually in books that are intense and dramatic that I consume, so I could overlook the not dramatic love story because of that romance. The romantic parts were just very well written and lovely and just tender. It was nice change from the usual fare that I read, even though I do love them to death and won’t stop reading them. This was actually a pretty good read. I was pleasantly surprised, not expecting much from a Christmas read/ prince-ly story line.
Antoniette is shunned by her parents for running away from her wedding a few years ago. Coming from a small village, everyone knows everyone and she eventually has to move away to stop people treating her as an outcast. Her family is well known in the village.
Currently she has returned to give one more shot to reconciling with her parents. She finds work at a high end restored hotel. And there she meets the H, not finding out his true identity for quite later in the book.
I found Antonietta to be a kind woman. But I didn’t find her too interesting or spunky and hence the 4 star rating. She was a little to slow for me. I also disliked how she considered herself above others by not participating in gossip- which was pointed out a hundred times in the book, to give cover to why she never gets to hear the H was a prince.
At other places to she came out as slightly matronly to me. The H however was perfect. He was such a tender lover and despite all his wealth and blue blood, he was kind hearted and emotional. He truly stood by his claim of falling in love with the h and came back for her. Wish there was a more detailed epilogue!
Antoniette is shunned by her parents for running away from her wedding a few years ago. Coming from a small village, everyone knows everyone and she eventually has to move away to stop people treating her as an outcast. Her family is well known in the village.
Currently she has returned to give one more shot to reconciling with her parents. She finds work at a high end restored hotel. And there she meets the H, not finding out his true identity for quite later in the book.
I found Antonietta to be a kind woman. But I didn’t find her too interesting or spunky and hence the 4 star rating. She was a little to slow for me. I also disliked how she considered herself above others by not participating in gossip- which was pointed out a hundred times in the book, to give cover to why she never gets to hear the H was a prince.
At other places to she came out as slightly matronly to me. The H however was perfect. He was such a tender lover and despite all his wealth and blue blood, he was kind hearted and emotional. He truly stood by his claim of falling in love with the h and came back for her. Wish there was a more detailed epilogue!

I'm a long-time fan of Carol Marinelli, having purchased many of her paperbacks and eBooks published by Harlequin over the years. My favorite romances of all time are her Irresistible Russian Tycoons series for Harlequin Presents. So imagine my joy when I saw that her upcoming book, "Secret Prince's Christmas Seduction," was available for review on NetGalley. Of course, I downloaded the ebook and began immediately reading it.
The story is about Antonietta Ricci, a young woman who is returning to her hometown of Silibri, Sicily. She fled years before on her wedding day, not wanting to marry her second cousin Sylvester, who treated her cruelly and often ridiculed her during their engagement. Her actions disgraced her family's honor, and as a result, her parents and extended family disowned her.
She comes back to Sicily, hoping to mend fences and spend Christmas with her family. But they are not interested. She wants to stay in Silibri, so she obtains a job as a chambermaid at a newly opened luxury hotel and spa, which is owned by her best friend's husband.
She is assigned to service the hotel's largest suite--the August Suite--which is currently occupied by a man who is recuperating from a skiing accident. While cleaning his room, she gets to know the man a little bit, and an attraction develops between the two of them. He's a worldly, sophisticated playboy who has seen and done it all, and Antonietta's innocence and sad eyes spark something deep inside him. He can't believe he wants to know more about this simple chambermaid, but she's like a breath of fresh air in his life.
Rumors fly around the hotel about the true identity of the guest in the August Suite, but Antonietta refuses to listen to any gossip, since she's been the recipient of its ill effects after her abandoned wedding. She figures he's probably a famous actor by his dress and mannerisms, but doesn't let herself dwell on his true identity. Instead, she chooses to enjoy the time they spend together when he takes her out for nice dinners.
When she eventually discovers who he is, and that he has unbreakable commitments (including an arranged marriage), she realizes that their relationship can be nothing more than a holiday fling. (In her heart she's known this all along, because he was honest and upfront about his commitments.)
He leaves to go back to his country and Antonietta tries to nurse her broken heart and get back to her life. But perhaps the deep attraction they feel for each other be strong enough to bring them back together? You'll have to read the book to find out, and also to find out the surprise identity of the mystery guest whom Antonietta falls in love with!
My review of this book: the Cinderella plot is interesting, if a bit predictable. But overall, I was a bit disappointed in this book. The story lacks the "must keep turning the page" tension I've discovered in Marinelli's other books. The writing is awkward and wording even a bit antiquated, which surprises me since it isn't typical of Marinelli's style. (I realize that Marinelli is British/Australian, and some of her writing style reflects this, but I wondered if it was an older book, perhaps from the 90s, that was being republished?) The ebook version I read had some formatting problems, too, which at time was distracting and made it challenging to read. However, despite these criticisms, it is an interesting "escape from reality" read, good for a rainy Saturday afternoon. I would say that if you like international billionaire romances, definitely check out Carol Marinelli's other Harlequin Presents books. Don't stop with this one, as it really doesn't do justice to her writing talent.

Antonietta returns home to Sicily after fleeing on her wedding day 5 years ago. Her family hadn't listened when she starting raising objections and went ahead with the arranged marriage and because she fled they have been holding a grudge ever since. She's home hoping her time away gave them a chance to forgive her and will welcome her home for the holidays. To help her out her best friend has gotten her hired at her husband's newest hotel in their home town, there she will work part time as a chambermaid in the luxury suites and train the rest of the time as a massage therapist.
Not one for gossip she's unaware of the significance of the hotel's newest guest, when she's assigned to his room. Rafe is there to recover from a recent skiing accident that he can't allow the people of his country to learn about. Tired of being regulated to the life of a playboy he's been pushing for more responsibility from his father as Prince of his people, however his father has one stipulation and Rafe cannot abide by it. One of Rafe's best friend has given him a place to recuperate and rethink things. While there he finds himself drawn to Antonietta who meets none of the standards his family requires for a future queen but he himself can't get her out of his mind.
As time goes by and he heals and gets to know the woman who is here to make his stay more comfortable he is forced to re-evaluate what he expects for his future. I really enjoyed how slowly they built this relationship. Even with their attraction they took the time to get to be friends first, Rafe especially was uncertain with how this friendship could develop and where it would lead. As the pressure mounts for him to make a choice Rafe realizes he doesn't want to be like his father. When given a choice he makes the best for himself. To be honest I was prepared for that, I kind of expected the story to be just a fling I should have remembered I'm reading a romance novel and HEA are guaranteed.
The friendships are what really help this story along. I loved that her best friend tries to help her and make her confront what is happening with her family and see it realistically. I loved that she's a safe haven for Antonietta and is a great sounding board as well. I am enjoying how much these new romances challenge our beliefs about what a heroine can be and how they can fall in love. It's a sweet Christmas romance that makes Antonietta face what makes a 'family" especially because her own isn't the best.
I loved how sweet they were together and how Antonietta embraced her new life and the changes she wanted for herself.

Antonietta was in her cottage. She had come home to reconcile with her family. It was two weeks before Christmas and there had been little progress with her family. If anything the situation had worsened with rude stares and muttered insults whenever she ventured into the village, and when she had gone to her parents house the door had been closed in her face by her father. She had seen a pained look in her mother’s eyes, as if her mother wanted to say something. For that reason she that she persisted. Work was going incredibly well, her colleagues were friendly and supportive and the training was first class. Than the chief concierge -Pino greeted Antonietta as she came to work and said they had a new guest. By the extra security around Antonietta knew he was a VIP. But she wouldn’t let Pino gossip. Pino recently lost his wife. One of Antonietta’s jobs was to take care of the guest in the August Room. She had known guests to bring their own security but never to this extent. This guest must be very important. She quietly knocked on the large wooden door. There was no response, so she was trained to do she let herself in. Once inside she turned on a light than walked to the main bedroom and knocked than gently opened the door, then called his name “Signore Dupont?” It was clear to Antonietta he was asleep so she said softly I have coffee for you, than she asked if he would like her to open the drapes? He said yes in a groggy voice. The staff was told he was Louis Dupont but he said to call him Rafe. Than he told her to make sure no one bothered him for the rest of the day. Antonietta wondered for the first time about a man… Rafe…. Than Antonietta was again to service the August Room by Francesca . She went to the room and Rafe was only in running shorts and she tried not to look at him. He was so very male and she was so very aware of that fact in a way she had never been before now. But she was a virgin still after all. Antonietta was confused by this new feeling Rafe aroused. Rafe thought Antonietta rather fascinated him. But he was the Crown Prince of Tulan, but he did believe Antonieet did not know who he was.
I really enjoyed reading this romantic book. It was a fun quick read. I really enjoyed the plot and pace. Rafe and Antonietta have a hot connection. I liked the ending but I wished it had been longer. This book had a lot in it such as : family drama, a daredevil prince who refused to marry, a serious accident, royal duties, family rejection, life altering decisions, and so much more. I liked the characters and the ins and out of this book and I recommend it.

I haven't read a Harlequin Romance in a while, so I was excited to dive into this sweet Christmas romance. Secret Prince's Christmas Seduction by Carol Marinelli is a romantic story about a hotel chambermaid who falls for the mysterious guest staying in the suite she has been ordered to clean.
It's like Maid in Manhattan. But even better, because it's set in Italy!
I liked Antonietta right off the bat. She's a young woman who has moved back to the small town in Italy that she grew up in. Her best friend's husband is in charge of a fancy hotel and he offers her a job where she can work as a chambermaid as well as take massage classes.
It's the perfect opportunity for her, because for the past five years she's been traveling and working, all to avoid her family and the great shame that she brought upon them by standing her former fiance up at the alter. He was actually her second cousin, so not only did she upset her parents, but pretty much that entire side of the family.
Cringe. She doesn't expect for her family to welcome her back to town with open arms, but she also doesn't expect for them to be so rude when they spot her around town.
Things are good for Antonietta though. She lives in a small cottage on the hotel's property and does her best to avoid all drama and gossip at work. Her main goal is to do a good job and stay on her supervisor Francesca's good side.
So when a mysterious VIP hotel guest comes to stay and Antonietta is assigned to service his room for her, she keeps her head down and does her best to avoid finding out who the guest is. Quite frankly, she doesn't care. She just wants to do her job and keep the guest satisfied.
But little by little, she gets to know the guest. He is injured, and a little surly, but he's also kind. He sympathizes with Antonietta when she has a bad day, and he finds her crying while she should be cleaning his room.
The two get to know each other better, and Antonietta likes the feeling that she gets around him. She's as surprised as anyone that she actually likes this guy. But unfortunately for her, he's leaving town come Christmas.
And there's also the fact that he has a secret identity.
I recommend this book if you like sweet Christmas romances. Antonietta is such a sweet character and it's fun to read about her putting herself out there and taking a chance on love.

I only bought this book because the cover model on the UK/Australian editions is actor Theo James, MMC of series 1 of Sanditon & the Divergent film trilogy. He also played the Turkish diplomat who died in Lady Mary's bed in series 1 of Downton Abbey. It makes me wonder how long Mills & Boon stockpile cover photos. I'd have thought Theo James was now successful enough as an actor that he doesn't need to model on the side.
I'm not into Cinderella/prince romances. I like at least a scintilla of believability. Having said that, this one is a fairly enjoyable example of the trope. It's sweet & tender & the prince grows into a better man. Antonietta, the virginal FMC, is naive, a bit anaemic & something of a goody two shoes.
Both MCs have unhappy family lives. Antonietta has returned to her home village in the hope that the relationship with her parents can be mended, after she ran away from her wedding to her second cousin Sylvester, bringing shame on the family. However they refuse to listen to her, only coming around when Sylvester reveals his true character. There's no mention of any siblings. She's been working in Rome & France for the past five years.
Rafe's royal parents had an arranged marriage. It's long been in name only, due to his father's inveterate philandering. Rafe isn't close to either parent. His father wants him to end his playboy, daredevil lifestyle, have an arranged marriage of his own & produce an heir.
There are no major dramas. Rather, the story is about the MCs coming to terms with their lives & standing up for themselves.
I'd have liked an epilogue telling how Antonietta adjusted to her royal life. It would be a very steep learning curve.

This was actually a pretty good book!!
Not gonna lie, it did take me like 2 chapters to get into cause Rafe was mean lol!! I'm like come on Rafe, lighten up.
Rafe goes to the Old Monastery to get away and heal from his accident he had. He didn't want to be bothered, so the chambermaid Antonietta was given the job as she is very secret and stays away from the gossip of what's happening at work.
Her bestie Aurora and Nico own the Old Monastery and Nico is one of Rafe's old buddies from back in the day. Rafe doesn't want anyone to bother him, to come to his room or anything until he sees her. Until he lays eyes on Antonietta and he only wants her.
I loved how he came out of his shell and opened up to her, and became a lot nicer!! I was like thank goodness cause I wanted to reach through the page and smack him!!
Antonietta didn't want to show her feelings towards him or to anyone else for that matter. Until she wanted too. And boy did she want to!!
The humour in this book was sooooo good! Thank you for the laughs!
Rafe has a decision to make, and Antonietta doesn't know the whole truth of everything. Will she ever? You'll have to read to find out.

SECRET PRINCE’S CHRISTMAS SEDUCTION captured my attention from the first page, strongly enough that I searched for the connections between friends in this story and went to pick up THE SICILIAN’S SURPRISE LOVE CHILD (which is connected) before I even finished Rafe and Antonietta’s story.
Each has different family issues that affect their lives, and those issues do arise during their story. My heart broke for what Antonietta’s family put her through, in my opinion, she’s far better off without them anywhere near her now or in the future. Rafe may be a future King, yet his father has ironclad ideas about his son’s future and will cause no end of meddling before Antonietta and Rafe find their happy ending.
The chemistry sizzles between this couple yet to Rafe’s mind there can be no future only a temporary relationship – but loving someone can change minds and kingdoms. SECRET PRINCE’S CHRISTMAS SEDUCTION captured my attention from the first page, strongly enough that I searched for the connections between friends in this story and went to pick up THE SICILIAN’S SURPRISE LOVE CHILD (which is connected) before I even finished Rafe and Antonietta’s story.
Each has different family issues that affect their lives, and those issues do arise during their story. My heart broke for what Antonietta’s family put her through, in my opinion, she’s far better off without them anywhere near her now or in the future. Rafe may be a future King, yet his father has ironclad ideas about his son’s future and will cause no end of meddling before Antonietta and Rafe find their happy ending.
The chemistry sizzles between this couple yet to Rafe’s mind there can be no future only a temporary relationship – but loving someone can change minds and kingdoms. I enjoyed my time in this world very much and would not hesitate to recommend to any Romance reader who loves strong characters, a love worth fighting for and a very happy ever after.

The Secret Prince's Christmas Seduction was very good! It reminded me of why I have always been a fan of the Harlequin contemporary romance stories. Antonietta and Rafael are both each having a troubled relationship with their families. She works as a maid at the hotel he is staying at while he is recuperating from an accident he suffered. Plus, he's using a fake name while staying there since he is a prince. I liked that he immediately was honest about his name. They are both are attracted to each other and decide to have relationship in which they are both aware that it is not a long term one. I loved them together and especially how he treats her. He immediately begins to treat her differently than from his previous relationships. He is also very aware of how unique and special she is. He kind of becomes her "prince charming" which now and days it is hard to find in contemporary romances. It was nice to see that he and her friends filled that void her family left when they stopped talking to her.
This was a great story from start to finish and I loved their HEA scene. It was very sweet!
I look forwards to reading more from this author.

Beautifully paced, this romance has all the feels!
Rafe is recovering from yet another close call from one of his devil-may-care adventures, so he seeks refuge at a secluded resort owned by one of his friends, where his anonymity is protected while he struggles to figure out how to be his own man without sacrificing his responsibilities to the crown.
Antonietta takes a job at the small resort near her family in an effort to reconcile with her estranged parents, who have shut her out for years for walking away from an arranged marriage. Never one for the gossip rags, she only knows that the VIP in the August suite is a celebrity of some sort, but she never dreamed he was royalty.
These two hit it off right from the start; he is her safe space while she is his soothing balm of peace. This is a cautiously moving romance, as each one fully understands the baggage they bring and what their chances are for a future together. There's plenty of drama but no true villains in this story as they work towards a HEA that neither believes is possible.
The conclusion is completely satisfying for all parties, and I couldn't have loved this book more. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Firstly, before I review this story, I have to really complain to Mills and Boon/Harlequin about the quality of their ARCs. I have read quite a few now that have had the same issues and the slapdash formatting is very disappointing, considering these books are distributed from a large publishing house. Example - the first few chapters were fine, then in the next, dialogue ran together so you didn't know who was talking. A single sentence would be spaced over say - three to five or six lines. On some lines only one or two words were printed. Then the next chapter would be fine, and so forth. This did NOT enhance my reading experience at all, in fact it made it difficult to concentrate and enjoy the ARC when I had to literally read down the page and guess who said what. Not acceptable is it? Now let me get on to the review:-

The character development was good and I liked the back story. This author really focusses on the relationships of her couples and though there were lots of secondary characters that appeared, they didn't intrude on the romance. Of you are a fan of Cinderella type romance then the Secret Prince's Christmas Seduction is the perfect read for you. I can't really say anything bad about this novel. It hit all the HEA moments that make a good romance great! The writing is well done with an easy flow. The characters are like able and we'll written. If you can find more novels by this author in this series I would recommend reading them. A quick read with a satisfying ending-which is what we all want. If you like hunky hero's (that are a prince in disguise) and a gorgeous heroine all tied together in a lovely romance bow then this Christmas novel is for you.

Playboy prince meets his match. Love Antoinetta, she is brave yet innocent, boldly inexperienced, humble and so practical. I felt sorry for her because of how her family treated her, he's arrogant of course but I felt sorry for him as well for how his family treated him. Their attraction is so strong that they both throw caution to the wind and discover that their temporary fling has become so much more. I stayed glued to the pages wondering how their dilemma/family drama would pan out and who would they would be spending Christmas with, forever. Enjoyed reading this. I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

it was a nice story and really I finished it in one day, Carol Marinelli is one of my favorite writers but I don't know. It just didn't' move me. I didn't really like Rafe, just never really warmed up to his character. Antonietta was just too much of a... doormat? No not really a doormat but just not funny or fun, she was kinda boring. The story did have a nice ending, and I'm a sucker for nice endings. This one won't disappoint but I still feel there were loose ends, I wanted to see her parent's reaction when she walked in with a prince. That part was disappointing and felt unfinished.
