Kings of Hell MC #3

On Your Knees, Prospect

Rate this book
--- There is freedom in blacking boots for the right man. ---

Jake. Kings of Hell MC Prospect. Obedient. Desperate for approval.
Vars. Dominant. Stern. Undead.

Jake is itching to become a patched member of the Kings of Hell MC.
For two years he's toiled as the only prospect. So when a new guy swans in and thinks he'll get a patch in no time just because he's got friends in high places, Jake is there to stand in his way.
Only that the guy is older, more experienced, drives a Harley, and has the kind of boots Jake craves to lick.
But he won't.
Because he only fucks patches.

Vars is ready to find a new home in the Kings of Hell MC after a messy relationship led him straight to hell. In comparison, the pretty, blue-eyed prospect could be just the pleasant rebound he needs.
The boy is a brat, but that could be amended with a firm hand and a gag.
If only Jake was ready to admit to his submissive needs, Vars would gladly take him under his wing.
That is, until he finds out something inhuman resides inside of Jake.
Vars didn’t cheat death only to call out to it again.

But stuck together in one room, keeping each other’s secrets, they might just have to become allies, no matter how unwilling. Because if there is something Vars can’t resist, it’s a boy with pleading eyes.

*

“You are mine now, boy. This room is soundproof. No one will hear you scream.”
“Yes, sir. My body is yours.”

I've got no idea how these Authors came up with this story but I'm fully invested in it.It's pure genius how the individual club members stories are interwoven here in this highly addictive PNR series.

Jake,is 21,and has been a prospect in the Kings of Hell MC Club for two years.Earning his patch is long overdue but he's happy to wait, after all the club is his life, his family. He's prepared not only for hard work in the club but also any sexual favours the men might want. But he starts to question what he really wants when a new prospect arrives....

Vars,is 39,and has been sent to the Kings of Hell by the mysterious Mr Magpie-he,quite literally, owes his existence to Magpie.Having just escaped from a dysfunctional relationship the last thing he needs is another complication-but is his resolve about to be tested by a blue eyed, blonde haired, pretty prospect?

Vars and Jake can't escape each other,

-both are prospects, looking to get their patch,

-sharing a room is an unavoidable distraction.

Jake begins to get increasingly confused. He's attracted to Vars,it's one thing servicing the fully patched in club members but a prospect is a different matter.

Vars recognizes what Jake needs before Jake even fully understands it himself.Jake just wants to please, but soon discovers his submission is not just for others but something he needs. When it becomes about more than sex,are things about to get a whole lot more complicated?

Alongside Jake and Var's relationship you get the continuing PNR story-a cleverly crafted dark, twisted tale that these Authors excel at....

Part of a series/should be read in order.
D/s,BDSM (extremely hot sex).
Dark,PNR

Another fantastic instalment in this riveting series.

Jake (21) has been used by most of the men in the club one way or another. He deserves someone to stand up for him and show him his worth. Vars (39) is just the undead to show him the way.

In this story.
PNR
Age gap
MC club/prospects
Daddy/boy
Gargoyles, demons, ghosts
Undead-ish (I’m still confused about this one)
Graphic sex scenes

The paranormal aspect is heating up as this series goes along. Right away Jake find himself at the mercy of a creature he can’t get away from. I have to give props to K.A. for making me gag while listening to this one.

This would have been a much higher rating without the bdsm boot licking aspect and spankings. It's was made worse because Jake doesn’t want to be hurt, he’s very honest about this. BUT he wants more than anything to please Vars. So how can he say no? It’s a fine line that’s crossed and it felt wrong.

I LOVED seeing all the reoccurring characters from books 1-3, although Elliot is still a moron. The extra chapter at the end for Beast and Laurent’s wedding night was excellent! (bring out the toys!)

I haven’t been the biggest fan of Joel Leslie’s reading skills until this series. I’m so impressed with his voice acting and very distinct voices for all the characters.

*Pls note, this series must be read in order.

Welcome to the Kings of Hell MC’s reality. A place where if something weird and creepy can happen, it will. A place where demons, the undead, ghosts, gargoyles and all the strange creatures you can imagine (and some you can’t) coexist with a gang of outlaws with questionable morality. A dysfunctional family of bikers where the most normal isn’t ordinary at all. A place where if you feel the heat and smell the smoke it’s probably because someone is literally on flames.

This is gothic horror at its best.
A dark fantasy story, developed with great humor, a fabulous plot and very likable characters
. This book is my favorite in this series and, considering I gave 5 stars to Laurent and the Beast and 4.5 stars to My Dark Knight go figure...
Anyways, On your Knees Prospect is good in so many levels that trying to explain the experience would required an essay. Don’t you worry, I’m not doing it, all I’ll do is try to explain it in a few words and some visuals.

I was absorbed from page one because the prologue itself is a hook you can’t let yourself down. It grabs you, holds you and fix you there begging for more.

The characters:

Vars: undead, dominant, but pure sugar in the inside.
He is rock solid like the stone that his heart is, but instead of cold he is warm and sweet. A very pleasant surprise.

And Jake: super hot and cute, he was born to please. A natural sub with a misconception of power who just needed the right man, the right orders, the right pleasure, even if he didn’t know it. My poor thing doesn’t know a lot of things. He is insecure and he’s lost and Vars is his safe place, the one who gets him and can help.

The age gap (21 and 39) is delicious and so it is the contrast between our MCs. Jake’s naivety facing Vars dominance and experience. Because yes, Jake is nearly a profesional cocksucker but our horny prospect is young and innocent and everything he does is destined to find his place. He’s wrong in the way to find it though and who knew his port would be another prospect and not a patch member (Another misconception about power our Jake will have to learn.)

The whole story is a game of contrasts. It’s not just our MCs who apparently are beautiful opposites, each one of them is a walking paradox: the slutty naive guy who can give head like a pro but never have been sucked or kissed with care.
Or the dominant biker, who is a super gentle lover and every action toward Jake shows kindness and devotion. Yup. These lonely guys are a sweet paradox.

The plot:

Addictive. Well done. Perfectly executed. A mix of things that combined constitute a brilliant whole full of dark, gothic, humor, hotness and amazing dialogues.
I’m keeping it vague because if you’re going to read it I’m sure you want it that way. The full experience is waiting for you.

On your knees prospect is not a standalone and reading the previous installments is required but also highly recommend.
If you are not a big fan of bdsm, it’s ok because even if the story of Vars and Jake could be described as a bdsm romance, it’s much more than that and as an incentive I’ll tell you that the sex scenes here are scorching hot. Really, I was very into it and it’s not my thing, so I guess dom /sub fans will be happy campers. There was just one scene I considered a bit too long.

And now, this gargoyle and I will patiently wait for Gray’s story. Probably it’ll be my fave (because he IS my fav)

Highly recommend!

It's hard to review this book without spoiling parts of it, but at the same time it's exactly these parts I loved the most. So if you don't want to know stuff that are not mentioned in the burb, don't open the spoiler tags.

Jack. Oh Jack. The obedient, loyal, eager doormat prospect. Jake has been taking care of the club for the last couple of years, waiting for his patch, to the point of being taken advantage of by the other club members. But by the end of this book, he is fearless and fierce. Now, Jake is fire!

Imagine when Vars, the new guy, comes in like he owns the place, ready to get a patch too in no time. But Vars is a dom and he wouldn't mind teaching Jake a lesson. If only Jake accepted his own inclinations...

There is a lot of BDSM in this book. A bit too much for my own personal tastes, which is why I didn't always feel Jake and Vars's chemistry. But if daddy/sir-boy dynamics is your thing, this is the book for you.

K.A.Merikan turn the paranormal notch on in this installment. Now you might wonder, there was time travel and ghosts and a demon that leaps through a mirror. How much more? A LOT! And although I'm NOT a paranormal kind of reader, this is exactly the part I loved the most.

Spoiler ahead

Another thing occured to me while reading this story; Knight and Elliot annoyed me a lot a couple of times here, and I realise that the Merikan characters never fully redeem themselves, and since they don't get a personality transplant either, they remain the same assholes even after their HEA. Yet, we always root for them and and we always love them. That takes serious talent.

I love the secondary characters, even Mr. Maggpie! I'm seriously excited for Gray's book that comes next. This was a great addition to a series that has become one of my favorite paranormal tales ever. Best to read all books in order.

Are you all ready for some Vars and Jake?! I tell ya, this series just gets weirder and weirder! And it's full of KA Merikan trademark darkness and morally flexible characters. I love it! I would, most definitely, suggest reading this series in order. They don't really stand alone all that well. Each book is about a new couple, but the overall story arc runs from the first book, on through, so you're not going to want to miss what's going on.

Jake, whom we all know and love as the perpetual prospect for the Kings of Hell, really wants his patch. He works tirelessly, doing whatever shore or sexual favor the patched members give him. He's happy to serve, but after more than two years of toiling, he's starting to feel like he'll never be good enough. And if there's anything that Jake needs, it's to feel like he's good enough. Jake is a sweet guy, but he's also very insecure with himself and the things he wants in - and out - of the bedroom. Jake is submissive, through and through, but he hasn't yet come to terms with it or figured out what it really means, so he has it in his head that once he is patched, all these feelings will go away.

I felt bad for Jake, because he needs -- needs -- someone to really appreciate him and be just his. He needs guidance and a firm hand. Jake wants a connection. He wants and needs to be needed. He needs a Dom, but no one in the Kings of Hell is going to give him that. Meanwhile, being a prospect means that Jake has no idea about the demon or the ghosts or whatever other hellish thing might lurk in the house, so Jake, being Jake, gets himself into a situation he has no idea what is or how to get out of.

Vars is being sent to the Kings, from an associate in New York, to be their accountant. No one really knows much about him, but Magpie vouches and the Kings desperately need an accountant, and being as how Magpie is a powerful ally, the Kings accept Vars as a prospect. Vars just wants a fresh start. His ex, who was also his submissive, is a psychopath who didn't know - or care - about the meaning of "boundary". It was a horrible situation for Vars to be in, because he has limits, too, and his ex didn't respect them, at all. To make matters worse, his ex also works for Magpie as an assassin. Bad situation, all around, that. He has no intention, at all, of starting a new relationship or doing more than casual scenes. Until he lays eyes on Jake.

Vars is authority incarnate and sex on legs. He's a bad-ass older guy who checks all of Jake's boxes. But Jake also thinks that being submissive is somehow demeaning. He doesn't get that it's actually a pretty powerful dynamic. Couple that with Jake feeling a bit threatened because this guy - an unknown - comes strolling in and is on the path to get patched with seemingly little effort on his part, and Jake feels all kinds of threatened.

Secrets are piling up, both with the MC, itself, and with many of the individual members. They've found themselves beholden to forces unknown and way out of their control. I'm liking it a lot. The Kings of Hell aren't bad guys. Yeah, they're not exactly law-abiding, but they're not bad people. But they sure are in a bad situation. I love where this series is going. Demon's, ghosts, and a motorcycle club whose members would do anything for each other. They're family and family sticks together.

I loved the D/s element a lot, although there is one BDSM scene late in the book that felt overly long and unfocused. I think I know what the MC's were trying to accomplish, however, for me it didn't make the grade. I got bored when reading that scene and started skimming to the end of it to get back to the story.

Aside from that, though? I really enjoyed this latest installment to the Kings of Hell MC series and would recommend it fans of this duo's deliciously dark brand of story telling.

These ladies bring you the most unorthodox relationships and make you root for them as if they are a real possibility.

Jake has been prospecting for far longer than he should have been for these men. He knows his time for being patched in is coming soon. He has payed his dues and more. He even services them sexually if the mood strikes one of the patched ones; cause he only services those who are patched in. He's comfortable in his place at being the best prospect he can be for the King's of Hell men. So why does the arrival of a new prospect have Jake questioning not only his place in the MC, but also the choices he's made while prospecting.

Vars is 39 and quite older than Jake's 21 years of age. He's got a past that he's running from and a future he can't wait to settle into. Jake pushes all his buttons. But after the relationship he just left he isn't too keen on starting something new. He just wants to live out the rest of his days serving this new brotherhood in peace. But Jake brings out the protector in Vars. He brings out the need Vars has to dominate. And with Jake submitting so beautifully Vars can't resist bringing this boy to his knees.

Both men have secrets. Both are struggling with what the other means to them. Both men are looking to be patched in and to be equals with their brothers. Both are sharing a room with the other which makes their attraction that much more harder to resist. Both men start letting down their walls and find escape in each other.

Jake has a hard time with his attraction and reaction to Vars and what he lets Vars do to him. He both hates and craves the feelings the man brings within him. He also fears what his brothers would think of him for giving in to his needs.

Vars knows he is the perfect man for Jake. He knows what Jake needs even if Jake is finding it hard to accept those needs. Vars never thought he'd find such a perfect match in Jake. He works hard at building trust with Jake. He knows how important trust is in the kind of relationship they are entering with one another. He knows how hard Jake is struggling with giving it to him. Both men's secrets play a big role in their relationship as well and that trust they built will be tested.

Another great story by these talented ladies. This series really has been one the most interesting series I have read. The story gets better with every book.

Happy reading dolls! xx

On Your Knees, Prospect is book three in the fantastic series, Kings of Hell MC, by authors K.A. Merikan. This is not a standalone book and should be read as part of the series, in order, to best enjoy the unfolding events and plot carryovers. This book takes us deeper into the demonic forces that dwell both inside and outside the Kings of Hell's clubhouse. While there is some light shed on previous riddles that were unsolved, more are unearthed keeping the plot fresh and exciting! Additionally,we get to watch a new couple fall in love, Jake & Vars, while catching up with previous couples we already love! It's a perfect compilation of the new and old, the good and the bad, and of course the wicked and ... well, the devilish! 😉

It's no secret that I adore the writing of K.A. Merikan. Together these two authors create some of the most unique, wickedly delicious, and scorching hot stories. I always know when I start a new book from them I will be fully entertained and locked into their world, from page one to the end, their stories are the type you can't put down! This book was no exception! I devoured this book once I was able to read it (school got in the way). I had to know what would happen next and this kept up through the end of the story. I say through because there is a special treat for everyone after the words "the end" so don't forget to look for it!

Now, about Jake and Vars. Where do I begin? I refuse to spoil any part of this story. Nope. Not going to happen. I do have to say that Jake goes through a lot in this book, we really get to see a huge amount of character development for him, and some of that has to do with the new prospect, Vars. Vars is brought in via Magpie and is a prospect (fast-track) who will be doing the books for the MC club. He is also the man who both drives Jake mad and makes him go crazy with lust. He is also undead. Yeah, I know...makes ya go hmmmm! First, let's just say Jake isn't all that happy that another prospect is there and that they are not on the same level, or rather that Jake isn't above him, in seniority. It causes Jake to have a few moments of childish behavior. However, these two do eventually get on the same page and once that pesky jelousy is removed... these two are fuckin' hot as hell together. It's not a long angsty wait either so don't fret, the wait while the guys figure it out is well worth it!

Vars unlocks desires in Jake that he either didn't understand or acknowledge before -- once they are out though, it's game on!

Since this is a K.A. Merikan story don't make the mistake of thinking that once these two get along it's all roses and champagne. Hell to the No! There is a lot going on in this story and a free-ride to a HEA for Vars and Jake is just not going to happen! You know what they say though, the harder you work for something the more you will enjoy it. Well, it applies here too!

So, make sure you bring a cool drink and get ready for this installment of The Kings of Hell MC to turn up the heat (puns intended).

5 stars!

This series is something else. It’s gritty and violent and creepy as all get-out, but it’s also hella hot and full of passion, even if the characters and the relationships are unconventional AF. Plus, the developing paranormal element, that gets more and more epic as the series unfolds, really is out of this world and one of the most original takes on the supernatural I’ve ever read.

As a couple, Jake and Vars were a seductive addition to this already heady bunch of bikers and their lovers. With an age gap and a strong D/s vibe, these two had absolutely no trouble burning up the pages. But it was in their shared emotional connection that they really stood out, both dealing with some seriously life-altering and oftentimes horrific supernatural influences.

The paranormal elements are my absolute favourite thing about this series. Undoubtedly, the stakes are getting higher — we’re talking “end of world” potential here — and the shit that’s been going down at the Kings of Hell clubhouse, impacting each of the guys in different and disturbing ways, is serious mindfuck material at its best.

As much as I enjoyed Vars and Jake’s story, my biggest takeaway from this particular book was how much I grew to LOVE Gray’s character. This badass mofo was the clear standout character here and I’m literally chomping at the bit to dive into his story, which is up next in Gray's Shadow.

See them stars, this gets all of them and more! I wish there was an option on Goodreads for adding extra kudos when a story just utterly blows your mind because I suspect the maestros that are Kat and Agnes Merikan would have hundreds of them!

This pair never, and I mean never, fail to surprise me - not always in a good way (yes The Copper Horse: Pride and Zombie Gentlemen I'm looking at you! one zombies! ick too far for me in spite of the stellar writing) - but with this one they utterly blew me away.

Nothing could prepare the reader for this book! You simply have to let your mind go free and experience the adrenaline ride as it happens. I waxed lyrical about books one and two in this series but even they were a bit more on the "traditional" side of an MM biker romance, even ones flirting with the paranormal.

This one though, oh lordy where to begin!

On Your Knees Prospect is, on the surface, an exceptionally good BDSM romance with a biker gang side dish, but where it excels - and this book will not be for everyone so please read and heed the warnings and subject matter - is in the paranormal elements.

Vars isn't just a powerful dominant, he's undead. A seriously deranged lover and an incident he only has a hazy recollection of with Mr Magpie (I love him, I need to know more!) resulted in his "rebirth" and now he's fixed aged 39 with a mysterious black stone in his chest.

Jake is 21. Desperate to belong to the Kings of Hell MC, prospecting for almost three years and so ideally submissive it's occasionally painful to watch just how eager he is to please.

The dynamic between these two is powerful. They go through a headrush of both physical and mental experiences which just staggered me both because of the imagination and WTFuckery which spawned them, but also because of the depth of feeling they evoked.

Again, reviewing these is made harder because I don't want to spoil the thrill of the journey but let me say, this series is just getting better and better.

Now onto Gray and the blurb for his is beyond exciting me especially as I've seen the sneaky cover peek from Natasha Snow which is, once again, absolutely perfect as was this one!

This is my favorite pairing in the series so far, and I couldn't be more suprised. I mean, Me? Totally enjoying a BDSM book? Well, YES. Who would have thought? But these authors managed to make me enjoy it a LOT.

This story is so much more than BDSM though, the PNR and the pure bizarreness are strong in here. You will know what I mean after you read that prologue, it was weird and creepy. That was me at that point:

image4096ba841f61a4bc.gif

But then the story progresses, and it gets even more bizarre. Did it bother me though? Obviously not. Since I don't mind weird and crazy shit stuff in my books as long as it's well executed, I was totally into this story.

Jake is such a great character. So innocent, and yet so not. I enjoyed reading his POV, and loved seeing him from the eyes of the other MC, Vars. Jake is just a good boy (in every way). He is the prospect in the Kings Of Hell MC, and he pretty much do whatever they tell him to - clean the toilets, clean their boots, suck their dicks... He does it all with pleasure since he's so eager to please.

image85d19e32185c84c3.gif

Vars is the new prospect in the club, but he's older than Jake (Vars is 39 and Jake is 21). Almost immediately he sees the submissive needs in Jake, and since he's quite experienced in the BDSM area, he's more than willing to teach the young man all about it.

Jake is not that thrilled though. First of all, Vars is only a prospect and Jake only fucks members. Also, he's a little scared of the whole concept, and tries real hard to deny his wants. You see, he wants to please Vars in every way, but he's afraid of his own thoughts.

But they grow closer when weird paranormal shit start to happen all around, and that makes it even harder for Jake to deny Vars. Vars also finds himself feeling a lot more for Jake, much more than he intended to feel.

When they finally gave in, it was pure hotness. And sweetness. They are perfect for each other, really.

Of course we see all the characters from the previous books, and that's always a nice thing. Also, there's one charcther that made me all intrigued, and that is Gray. I loved him here, and CAN'T wait to read his book, which is (thankfully) the next book in the series, and already has a blurb!! *fangirling*

This series is getting better and better! The world these authors created is truly creative, and I'm looking foward to see what's going to happen next.

These ladies can do no wrong !!! Oh I loved this book - I love the whole series ❤️ Vars & Jake were perfect MCs for this story. Vars was the new accountant coming from Magpies crew to join the Kings of Hell. He had a strong Dominant side so when he meets Jake the prospect he realizes Jake is a pure submissive and the connection began. Jake had been prospecting for 3 years and thrived on opportunities to please others. While he was enamored with Vars he refused to submit to another prospect. Vars, the ever patient and persistent, began to teach Jake about the D/s lifestyle and Jake found his peace. Of course Jake and Vars had their own struggles, no spoilers here, but this was about building love, trust and family.

I remember a while back, sprouting abuses and cursing when I read the second book of this series and vowed to never continue with the series again. But, I don't know why, maybe because the ebook was just sitting there. I gave this book a try and surprisingly ended up liking the D/s relationship between Jack and Vars. The paranormal stuff was okayish but the bonus chapter about Beast and the Laurent was extra special.

This series keeps getting bigger and better.

The Kings on Hell journey in the demon house continues. This time with the story of Jake our lovely and horny prospect.
The prologue of the story instantly sets the mood, from the beginning you know it's going to be intense. I had no idea how intense though.

Vars is a new prospect, brought by Mr. Magpie, the King's associate. He had a bad break up and he is looking for a far away place where he can settle.
From the first meeting he sees something in Jake that he wants.

Jake and Vars's relationship doesn't start with hot sex instantly, Jake feels threatened by Vars presence so they had to go through an adjustment period.
Vars is into BDSM and even though Jake likes to serve to the people that are above him it doesn't mean he's into being a submissive.

Even though these characters are dealing with a bigger threat, there was time for development. I liked how things didn't just magically happened for these guys. They had to learn to trust each other.
I liked Vars over protective nature but i also really liked how Jake learned to stand up for himself and his decisions.

In my reviews for this books I try to be vague about the paranormal aspect because it's so big and important. There's much more of it here and with only one book left I'm freaking out.
I don't know what Kat and Agnes have in store for us but i can't wait to read it.
There was a lot of new information provided but we still have so many questions.

All in all, this series keeps going strong so I recommend it to everyone.

Yes, sir!.....4.3 Stars.....

Demons, gargoyles, ghosts, and the undead. Add in a motorcycle club and you’ve got K.A. Merikan’s latest installment in the Kings of Hell Series (should NOT be read out of order).

I love this series and this third book rocked! We have Jake the prospect hooking up with a new character, Vars, also a prospect. Not only do we get a lovely age gap, but we also see Vars satisfy Jake’s need to please by introducing him to the joys of a D/s relationship. Gawd...there was an amazing bootlicking scene. Jake was just so into it it made me hum with pleasure!

Bootlicking aside, Jake annoyed me from time to time with jealous fits over Knight and Elliot, and sometimes Vars. The gargoyle angle rocked and so did the whole undead thing. Sorry, no spoilers!

The sex was hot, it’s Merikan, after all (and we got an awesome extra wedding night scene for Beast and Laurent which included toys)!

I’m so looking forward to the next book since it seems the fate of the world is at stake and it’s up to the Kings of Hell and Mr. Magpie to stop it.

📝 REVIEW & THOUGHTS:

This series is only getting better as it goes along. I loved seeing Jake finally finding someone to take care of him. He’s such a sweet and selfless soul. Vars and Jake were perfect for each other.

The paranormal plot is only getting better as we finally learn a bit more of the dark forces surrounding the motorcycle club. It’s only getting more intense and intriguing.

😤 LITTLE RANT (possible spoilers):

I was so mad at some of the members of the club with how they treated Jake. He’s such a sweet soul just wanting to please and some took advantage of it. The best member that shined in this book was Gray, trying to protect Jake. Loved him so much! So excited we get his book next.

Alsoooo I’m confused as to why the first time Jake transformed into a gargoyle they turned him back with the collar, but didn’t attempt the second time and had to wait for morning. Like… why? 🤔 I’d love to understand 😭

💬 QUOTES (possible spoilers):

“I just want to please,” Jake whispered so quietly he wasn’t sure he’d be heard.

“You like being called that, right? That’s why you do all they want. But do they praise you enough, boy?”

“I’m… I’m sorry. But how was I supposed to persuade you to stop being so hot?”

“You know nothing. What a man likes in sex is in no way related to what he does outside his bedroom.”

“This is mine now. So is this”—he delivered a slap to Jake’s damp buttock—“And this,” he whispered with a lick to Jake’s mouth. “Do we understand one another, boy?”

Vars had these ways of squeezing everything out of Jake, but then handing the delicious juice right back with extra sugar. With Vars, Jake really felt like his comfort and opinions mattered to someone.

* Fyi about 🌶️ levels: I rate spice on a combination of quantity, quality, length, intensity and explicitness of the scenes. Kınks are listed separately and generally do not directly affect the steam level to keep it fair for non kınky books.

"When you love someone, you sometimes don't see the warning signs until it's too late."

First off, that cover? *heart eyes* It's AMAZING. Beautiful! One of the best covers I've seen in a very long time.

I've got to say, I don't know how the duo do it, but they are geniuses. I don't know how they come up with the stories and write them so flawlessly. For two different people writing them, that's amazing because it just flowed so well. The books in the series are only getting better and better and On You Knees, Prospect was my favorite so far.

I had been excited for Jake's story since the first time we meet him earlier in the series and I knew I would love him. Guess what? I did and I do love him. And don't even get me started on Vars. Alone, they were phenomenal, together they're explosive.

A book you cannot read in public.

He dares to glance over his shoulder, and Vars had never seemed as handsome as we was the moment their gazes met. In that moment, Jake knew that this man could easily become the center of his universe.

I loved everything that happened in this book. Loved the suspense, that it still managed to surprise me. I'm not the biggest fan of BDSM but it was just the perfect amount in this book for me to enjoy it.

I know who the next book is for and I'm happy to say that I'm super excited that he's finally getting his HEA. I can't wait to read his story!

Another EXCITING addition to this intriguing and unique series!!
This is one series you would be lost if you don't read it in order. I love each and every member in this club, each character brings something different into the series. What seriously stands out is the love in the brotherhood, they have each others backs no matter what!
Jake just wanted to be excepted and needed and Vars was the perfect match for him, the BDSM scene that played out was HOT 🔥😱! I also enjoyed seeing Jakes playful side and I adored his little prank on Vars with his beard. 🤣 The narration with Joel Leslie was amazing as well 👍 he totally nailed Var's accent👋

I'm looking forward to Gray's story 🤗🤩

This is the third book in the Kings of Hell series and it's definitely recommended to read the books in order to get the full experience.

On your knees, Prospect is about Jake, our loyal prospect and Vars who joins the club as another prospect and is immediately a thorn in Jake's side. First of all because he seems to get privileges that he hasn't worked for, not like Jake has, and second of all, because he is just way too hot and Jake is finding it hard to resist him. Vars brings out very conflicting emotions in Jake, because Vars sees him right away. He knows what Jake needs and he is prepared to give it to him if only Jake lets him. Jake is scared of what this will mean for him and his role in the Club because the Club is his life and he would literally do anything for his brothers as he's proven time and time again. Sometimes even too much, indulging in sexual favors and letting himself be used by his brothers, because he hasn't realized yet what he really needs.

But everything changes when Vars gets there. He gives Jake what he needs and vice versa. He is also very protective of Jake and defends him to the other club members because Jake has been prospecting for almost two years and hasn't gotten his patch yet. It's amazing that characters I've loved before like Beast and Knight and even Elliot, my favorite character ever, managed to annoy me in this book because of their behavior towards Jake. And the funny thing is that I didn't even like Jake before I read his story. It's really a testament to the authors' talent that they can make me resent someone I loved before and actually love someone I resented before :D It's really nice that we got to see things from a different perspective in this book. Because once the authors put you inside their characters' head, you can't help but sympathize with them. No matter if they're the biggest assholes. That's just Kat's and Agnes's talent!

And Jake was so sweet, so innocent, so eager to please, I couldn't help but fall for him. And Vars was just sex personified. He's older than Jake, really sexy and they've got a Daddy/boy dynamic going on that was hot as hell to read about. There is some BDSM in the story but it was well done and not too much. Vars and Jake are a perfect match and exactly what the other one needs. But Vars isn't perfect. He comes with his own set of problems and a difficult past with a crazy ex that will cause lots of problems for the Club.

What I really loved was the paranormal aspect in this book. It's getting more and bigger, a lot bigger and I can't wait to see where it's all going! Can't wait for Gray's book because he really stole the show a little in On your knees, Prospect. Always standing up for Jake and defending him and just generally being a good friend and brother, he was the best!

My only complaint is that somewhere in the middle, the story dragged just a little bit. But definitely made up for it in the last 20%. Kat and Agnes are known for their explosive finales and man, this one really made me shed a few tears. And there was a bonus scene of Laurent and Beast at the end that was just the icing on the cake! Those two are just adorable!

All in all, On your knees, Prospect was a great addition to the series, with a wonderful couple, moments that make you laugh out loud but also moments that make you cry, and action that will have you on the edge of your seat.

I read this book a few months ago, but never got around to reviewing it, so I'll just write a short one.

I remember that I liked the story and the characters. The paranormal elements, the complications and the solution, all of them kept my attention. It was a fun read with some darkness thrown in in typical K.A. Merikan fashion.

After books one and two in the series, “On Your Knees Prospect” had many strong moments, but overall I enjoyed it a bit less.

I loved the humour in this one so much. The characters from the previous books interacted with Jake and Vars in delightful ways. And it did manage to make me cry at one point.
The romance aspect of the story didn’t feel so original. Maybe it’s just me and reading/listening to too many BDSM books in a row.

Overall it was a solid Merikan book, just not as crazy as I expected.

I've been wanting to read Jake's story from the start and I wasn't disappointed. Although not as great as the first two books it was a really close second.

I felt so bad for Jake after Knight got with Elliot. He seemed crushed. His POV is written so well I felt everything so strongly and I even wanted to smack Knight a bit. Jake wants someone to love him and appreciate what he does. He wants his Patch, to be a recognized part of the MC family.

Vars is a Dominant dream. He's had a traumatic past of late and is looking for a new start. Jake is just what the doctor ordered. The perfect Submissive.

The chemistry between these 2 is off the charts. I LOVE the motorcycle washing scene ;)

The paranormal aspects of these books keep me intrigued. You never know "what" might show up next.

I'm ready for Gray!!

I'm going to say it again: I like this series. I liked this book, too.
I might like it in the same top 10 m/m series as Monstrous and Bro and the Beast.
It's a little heavier...it's intense. There's definitely all kinds of fuddd up chaos. Each installment is really long, some of the characters (uhumm, Elliot) are obnoxious AF and *almost* irredeemable-BUT that said, I enjoy each story. They might all be about 3 hours too long but the dynamics of each pairing are different and interesting and the added paranormal only serves as a bonus. I truly liked Jake and let me say I did NOT see any of that coming. Ha! This series is definitely entertaining and superrr random, which I appreciate. I just imagine the sisters sitting there writing this series together lollll thinking 'well fuck, Id like a sister to co-author some crazy ass shit with.'
Narration: 4/5⭐
Spice: 2.5/3🌶️ it's got scenes and they're good but it's not every other page or chapter. It's an actual storyline and it is wild!

** 4.5 stars **

I was waiting for this book as a massive K. A. Merikan fan and a fan of this series. Lemme just start off by saying this did not disappoint me in either of these regards.

Jake intriguied me as a whiny, slightly manipulative side character from the first 2 novels but knew he'd make this story his own. His character arc from being a weasel to a loyal, strong figure was amazing.

Our second MC of the story is Vars, an older and experienced salt n pepper hottie. Vars has come to Kings of Hell as a prospect after leaving Magpie, an ostentatious figurehead in the series. I knew early on that I would like him purely because during his first meeting with Jake, he was thinking about how he could get the boy on his knees before him. His past is very important as it depicts how Submissives can abuse their Dominants.

Their dynamics are really what made this book my favorite out of the series - the praise kink, the understanding, the guidance, the acceptance and the love. For years Jake was serving the other members of the club without realising just how much he enjoyed his place under them. Vars allowed Jake to understand himself and find acceptance in his love of submitting. And by God, does he love submitting.

The praise kink in this story deserves it's own 5 stars: Jake could live his life happily if only he was told he was a Good Boy every day, his favourite way of serving Vars is by cleaning objects for him..with his tongue (yes, there's boot-licking) and his natural and easy submission.

I wanted to mention that while I understand this is from Jake's and Vars' POVs, various scenes had me rethinking how I viewed Elliot (a previous MC) as a character. In multiple scenes, he acts self-righteous, rude and just pretty snooty. Jake is definitely my new fave.

The supernatural elements were definitely amped up in this installment and taken to new heights. Jake's abilities, as one might say, were new and very cool.

Another reason to love this book: the final sentence is: "They didn’t need to know he laundered money for the club and was already pondering new, creative ways of fucking their son." Oh I love K. A. Merikan!!!

In terms of the next in the series, I am now eagerly awaiting Gray's story! He intrigues me as badass (and not just like unbelievable-ex-machina-badass-to-gain-respect-from-audience because he's a bottom) and a compassionate MC.

The third book of this series is Jake's book, our favorite prospect who is too eager for his own sake.

With the arrival of a new prospect, Jake is very defensive about the situation, especially when he found out that they would not only share a room but also be patched together.

The new prospect is Varg, an older guy sent to help the Kings but also to keep an eye on them.

Vars and Jake relationship started a bit messy (which relationship in this series didn't) but they found common ground since they could offer exactly what the other wanted and needed.

But not everything is love and rainbows, they still live in a mansion full of supernatural beings and one of them got Jake so things got even more complicated.

Together they need to deal with Jake's "monster problem" and Vars past, both situations very dangerous of course.

I didn't think I'd like this one very much because of the bdsm thing going on between Vars and Jake but it was ok-ish, not my favorite but since the story was really good and they were actually a good match it was fine. Also, I had even more Gray, did anyone notice that I love him? Yeah, so I'm just losing everything because Gray's book is next, oh boy I'm so ready!

Anyway, the plot only gets better and mysterious, so I'm looking forward to the last two books!

Oh goodness, how to start. In previous books I found Jake a strange character. He came off as just so desperate I worried that I wouldn't like him very much. However, I was proven wrong! I ended up really enjoying him and rooting for his HEA! Vars, I liked from the getgo and I liked that he pushed for Jake to become more. I also truly enjoyed how this book discussed how Dom heroes could be in abusive relationships themselves! It was different and an eye opener. My one smallish complaint is there wasn't enough tension between Vars and Jake. I just feel that given Vars previous issues and Jake's stubbornness they changed tracks too fast. Overall, a fantastic read!

Is it bad that I genuinely enjoyed more the bonus content featuring Beast and Laurent than the whole story? This whole book is a big fat 'okay' for me. It just didn't resonate or completely vibe with me. I'm okay with Laurent and his time travelling shenanigans. I can tolerate Elliot and him being a fanatic. But with Jake with his....?? I'm so sorry I couldn't, for the life of me, take it seriously. There were those moments that were supposed to be endearing and heartwarming but made me snort. This was fine. Excited for the next one!
