Excellent day trip guide from all three locations. We used on 3 different trips to Arizona, on sightseeing day trips from each city. The only problem with the book is in trying to decide which day trips to take.
I had an older edition of this book... recommend being sure you get the most recent edition.

I do not recommend this book! If you are looking for a good and accurate AZ travel guide... this is not it! I bought it because it was on sale at Costco for $10 and my Arizona for Dummies book was getting pretty dated. I know they say you get what you pay for, but I'm pretty sure I got ripped off on this one.

I took an overnight trip to Yuma (pg. 106) this weekend. The information about several of the attractions was incorrect (i.e. the address/location of the U.S. Army Quartermasters Depot, the days the Sanguinetti House Museum is open - it's not open on Sundays OR Mondays, the river tours which we found out don't start until the end of October/beginning of November, etc.) and it way oversells things (it only lists recommendations for 3 local restaurants and the one we tried ended up being pretty gross, and the U.S. Army Quartermasters Depot ended up being a total snooze-fest with most of the buildings "closed for renovations".)

The maps in this book are terrible too (they are really simplified and not clearly labeled), and it is really difficult to browse through/find things unless you know exactly what you are looking for and use the index.

I should have guessed, though, because I work at one of the places listed in the Scottsdale section, and the author totally got the info wrong on it too! She might have visited and looked around a little, but she definitely didn't research my workplace or ask the staff for info because she got about 75% of her info wrong.

Final words... don't buy this book, and don't visit Yuma on a Sunday/Monday in early October!

Those looking for out-of-the-way or little-known areas of Arizona will find some areas not mentioned in the general travel books by Moon, Fodor's, Frommer's, et al, and is a nice addition to the travel book shelf. Some of the travel times for a few of the "day trips" are a little long, but the author usually mentions this issue.
