Nicholas “Nico” Johnson, aka ‘Hulk’. The man got past all my defenses despite my efforts to keep him at a distance. It's a lost cause because our bodies call to each other, like a moth to a flame, we give in. Time and time again we come together and crackle like lightning. I said we were done, for good this time, but the funny thing about desire is, you don’t tell it when it’s done, it tells you. Our desire would never be done, oh no baby, it was just getting started.

An impenetrable wall was built around her heart. That’s what she said anyway, but I didn’t care. Lacey Turner was my kryptonite, my Achilles heel. We were the golden couple, the love that everyone secretly wished for themselves, but obstacles keep getting put in our way, testing the strength of our connection.

Our bodies know exactly what to do behind closed doors, but we can’t seem to get it right elsewhere. As long as I can keep her in my bed, I’ll find a way to make everything else fall into place. Just when I think I have it right, there are those obstacles again, but this time we have no choice but to overcome them.

The game between us has always been tied, but with so many extra innings one of us is bound to hit a walk off to end it. Lacey finally does it with those two little words...and no they aren’t home run.

This is book 5 in the Double Play Series and should be red in order. Mature content. 18+.

Going to be honest, they are beautifully broken together. I almost preferred all the times they were next to each other trying to get their shit together than the hot scenes. And when I say hot scenes I mean HOOOOOOOT scenes. Lacey drove me crazy but she’s very well written. She’s stubborn and unforgiving but Nico does break her walls. He’s the Hulk after all. Even if Lacey carries so much anger, she should be called the Hulk...
Nico is so much more than what he appeared to be in the other books. I still prefers Gabe and Jax but he come close third with his brother Damon. Great Job Nicole!

Well, what can I say about this book other than it is the HOTTEST book of this series so far.
I absolutley love Lacey and Nico.
Hot, steamy, infuriating, emotional, sexy, and so damn addicting.
This couple stole my heart and ran away with it. Even when they fight I adore them together!
I’m not putting any spoilers on here because you really do need to experience this one for yourself. Great job Nicole. Hulk and Blondie get the full five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I have been waiting for this story for FOREVER and it did not disappoint. Lacey is hands down on of my favorite characters in this series. The girl is sassy, she is feisty, but she is also a girl who just wants to find her happiness. She hides behind the walls she has built to protect her heart from pain and heartache. Nico is just the man to break down those walls.

Nico and Lacey’s relationship first began in the book 3, Ballers with Benefits, and from there we got little bits and pieces of their relationship but it was enough to fall in the love with them. So, naturally this book gives us more of their history together. I LOVED the flashbacks we got throughout the course of the last 3 years of their relationship together.

We got the amazing flashbacks, but the present with Hulk and Blondie was just as amazing. This story was emotional and it was probably the steamiest out of the previous books, I mean the mouth on Nico! You may need to fan yourself. Make sure the tissues are reading because there are few times where you will definitely be needed them! There’s a couple completely swoon worthy scenes and a few times where I may have wanted to throat punch Nico and a couple other characters (if you’ve read it you probably know the two people I am referring to).

Nico and Lacey have some of the best chemistry I have ever read. These two are SO perfect for each other. Despite their rollercoaster of a relationship they have so much love for each other, their chemistry is hot enough to melt your kindle, and I love every single thing about them.

I’ve completely fallen for the Gavinwood/Turner/Johnson crew. This ENTIRE series is a MUST READ!!! It is so much more than just a sports romance! There is a surprise at the end and I CANNOT WAIT for what is coming next!

OMG, so… Walk Off is Lacey Turner, daughter of Jackson and Savannah -- whom I simply LOVED-- (from Book 2- Going, Going, Goner) and Nicholas “Nico” Johnson’s (brother to Damon Johnson, Book 3- Ballers with Benefits) story and it’s got all the feels… not unlike the other books in this lovable sports romance series, but this one really got me RIGHT in the feels!!

Lacey Turner is EVERYTHING. She’s sassy, feisty, strong, beautiful and even has a sweet side she doesn’t want many people to see. She’s a heroine that you are gonna love… and get pissed off at… during the course of this book. Ha ha! But her story breaks your heart, over and over again. She works with Bella, her cousin, Charlotte, her aunt, and Savannah, her mom, at Double Play.

And Nico…guuuhhhh…. Drool… That’s all I can say about this dirty-mouthed, sex-crazed, yet amazingly smooth-talking hunk of muscle. He’s totally swoony with his big build (I love me a man with some big muscles), unconventional charm…and the mouth of a porn-star sailor. LOL! But, seriously! Nicole describes him with “the body of The Hulk and the face of Thor”. Need I say anything else? He’s been Lacey’s boyfriend (on and off again) for the last three years and he’s an ambitious baseball player… one she never intended to get wrapped up with but… well, re-read this paragraph to see why. (wink, wink)

So… Nico and Lacey… together they are hot, hot, hot!!! Their passion for dominance and one another is literally ON FIRE in this spicy, sexy and sassy romance novel which picks up not long after where book 4- Changeup left off.

Lacey and Nico are struggling in their relationship, with several obstacles in their path, which I won’t divulge so as not to throw out any spoilers. (You’re welcome!) We got to see the two of them get together in book 3 and their uncontrollable and fiery desire -- that we saw from an outsider prospective but never got to understand fully until now. I loved how the book was set- going back and forth between the present and catching us up with flashbacks that helped piece together the puzzle of what caused Lacey and Nico to be on again and off again when clearly, they were burning up more than just the sheets. Their dirty mouths and minds collide in this book. “Hulk” and “Blondie” are vicious, formidable and can’t keep their hands or mouths off one another- what’s not to love about that kind of heated passion?!

I simply adored Lacey’s beautiful and strong heart and how protective she is of those she loves and I admired Nico’s persistence and obvious love for the one woman who had him coming back again and again for more! These two were so easy to love and their story was endearing, frustrating and heart-breaking all at the same time.

This book will make you laugh, cry, swoon and gasp. As always, Nicole Rodrigues made me fall head over heels for her characters, writing two amazing souls with complex pasts and barriers that were so real and emotional that it hit me hard in more ways than one. And again, with these unbelievably swoony male MC’s… drool, drool, drool… She knows how to write her stuff!

I just love all these books…and the Gavinwoods/Turners/Johnsons… but this one was definitely one of my favs and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one!!! Squueeee!!!!

. 🇦 🇷 🇨 🇷 🇪 🇻 🇮 🇪 🇼 : Walk Off by @nicolerodriguesauthor.

I have never felt so blissful before this book. When I originally signed up for Double Play Series, I had my own doubts but with Bella and Damon's book, everything went out of idea. But with Walk Off, I am a happy person willing to give my life right here, right now.

Nico and Lacey's relationship has developed considerably since Book 3. In this book, we get a major show with tons of delicious detailed flashbacks that are so hard not to devour. It is an emotional and hot whirlpool of love, lies, secrets and ultimate last base. My mind wavered. There was a tugging going on in my heart constantly. The dialogues are extremely panty melting. Dayum 😋😘 Through out my reading, I drooled a lot. Bhahaah xD
It shows many aspects including the part of Lacey storming off when Nico's bet was revealed. It deals with the aftermath of circumstances that forces them to be apart. Whatever said, they just can't keep their hands off each other.

This is just a glimpse of my upcoming review. Mind well people, I was surprised with a lovely treat at the end. Can't say I hate the author right now when all I wanna do is hug her so tight that she might spill the beans out 😉 Hint hint... *miguel* *coughs* Oopsie!

A 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read of April, for sure.

Walk Off by Nicole Rodrigues

I am voluntarily reviewing this arc.
You like strong female leads in your books? This book has that. You want sexy, dirty talking, Hulky men in your stories? This book has that. You want a book that has mystery? Look no further. You love to read sexy off the charts hotness? This is where you find it.
I loved this whole series, but this installment was my favorite. Although I think I feel that way after every single one of Nicole Rodrigues books.
I have been anticipating Lacey and Nico’s story for a while now. In past books in the series you see glimpses of their relationship. Explosive. Complicated. Sexy. This book is their story.
Nico gets to Lacey in a way that no other has. They are gritty and playful and sexy as anything. Walk Off takes us beyond the scenes, so to speak, of the events that we’ve experienced with them in other books. The sexy scenes are seriously hot. I mean, fan yourself, hope your kindle doesn’t burst into flames, hot. This whole story is just captivating. They have a lot of obstacles to over come in order to find the ultimate happily ever after. Lacey’s biological mother is basically the devil and one of the bumps in their path. Can their love plow through all of their problems and give them their happily ever after?
You have to read this book to find out. No kidding! Go get your copy now! You will not be disappointed. Seriously all the stars!

Walk Off was a 5-star romance novel that will pull at your heartstrings, have you panting at the yummy dirty talk, and will make you work for that HEA!

This book started off at a fast pace. It delved right into the lives of Nico (Hulk) and Lacey. One of my favorite things about this book is that we get to see the beginning, middle, and end of their relationship. There are "flashback" scenes and they really give you a sense of their love and how hard they had to fight for it.

When you meet them, you know they are supposed to be together. Yet, there are many obstacles that continue to tell them otherwise. How many times can you forgive in a relationship?

Will Lacey and Nico survive as a couple?

I give Walk Off 5 stars. Nicole Rodrigues can do no wrong!

Oh my gawddd!! The heat seriously got turned up in this book!

So this is the 5th book in the 'Double Play' series. Which I honestly feel like I've been waiting forever for!! It's about Lacey and Nico and it was amazing. Lacey is so sassy and a feisty one! I was a bit unsure about Nico at first but he definitely redeemed himself throughout this book! They both definitely had it tough through their relationship.

We first heard about these characters in Book 3 'Ballers with Benefits', and we slowly started getting little snippets of their relationship. Which I thoroughly enjoyed reading! and so happy we got a book about them. I absolutely loved the flashbacks throughout the book and reading about their previous 3 years together and how it all started out.

These books just get better and better. Nicole had me feeling all types of emotions when reading about their relationship with each other. You honestly will not want to put this book down, once you start reading it. Nico and Lacey are so perfect for each other and the chemistry between them both is just unreal and so hot. If you thought the other books were steamy then wait till you read this one, your in for a treat!!

I really thought that was the end of these books, but maybe not..... (Excited!!)

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

HOLY HOT HULK! Incase you were thinking that Nicole Rodrigues couldn't get hotter or dirtier, or that you couldn't possibly love the Gavinwood/Turner/Johnson gang more----- you sir are wrong!
I've just been sitting over here thinking that I knew all about what was going on with these 2 and NOPE! You know nothing Jon Snow.
These 2 just seem like back and forth immature kids who cant keep their hands off one another but the real story is some CRAZY stuff is going on and Lacey just doesn't share her pain and heart ache.
Too bad for her that Hulk who can totally smash whatever he wants***waggles eyebrows** isn't going to give her that option. Turns out hes a big ole softie who is very much like Sav and wants to help people even when it costs him.
Trust me you are already almost in love with him and could be pregnant, maybe check on that. He is the Hulk after all.
Oh and kudos to Nicole for the new kink I spotted that is new to the series! Yowza girl get out of my dang nightstand already!

I have been waiting on this book in what feels like forever because of how Changeup ended! At the same time when I finally got the book from Nicole, I was almost afraid to start it because I knew the series is coming to an end soon and these two have been explosive through it all and I just didn't know how they could have even more to tell.

Well, shame on me for ever doubting Nicole. This is one of the best-written books she has ever written. I love to see how she has evolved so much throughout this series. This book is a lot different than her other books and is filled with angst, ups and downs (mostly downs), so much emotion and a story told over 3 years! How she did this was awesome and she really wrote a book so different from many other books.

Lacey Turner is one bad/hard-ass woman! She is filled with power, stubbornness, love and so much more. She is maybe the heroine with the biggest wall around her heart I have ever read about! Every time Nico aka Hulk was just about to break her down Nicole just threw in some drama and then it was a here we go again moment.

Nico is the most patient hero ever! I swear I am not proud of it but I would have given up a long time ago no matter how much chemistry there is between them. That man has the patience of a saint, a heart of gold and so bad luck I want to cry for him! Even though you should not like him because of the facts in the books you just can't help yourself! He is just so sweet and you just know he loves Lacey with everything he has.

Lacey and Nico are meant to be but faith just keep testing these poor people and my heart went out to them all the time through this book.

So are you looking for a rollercoaster of angst, a new intriguing story written in a whole new way, a really out of this world sassy heroine, a god of a hero and so much love and chemistry, then this is your book and you will not regret it!
But remember to read the other books in this series first!!! This book can not be read as a standalone or you will not have all the info.

Walk Off by Nicole Rodriguez
Double Play #5

I absolutely love the Gavinwood/Turner/Johnson gang. I love how close knit they are and how they always have each other back which is why I’m so happy we got more of the with Lacey and Nicos Story. Even though these to have their fair share of drama the chemistry between them is on fire.

This book is full of current moments and glimpse of what happened in there story to lead them to where they are now. I love how we got to watched the characters grow through the last books and experience there drama but in this book we got the explanation of what happened through out those time.

Nico is one hot hulking man, and his love for Lacey is so strong, but some mistakes he’s made have cause her to temporarily lose trust in the man she loves she’s not sure if they could ever be together again. To make it worst she finds out she is pregnant with his child, something she was really looking forward to when they were together.

Nico has made some mistake before but this seems to be the worst, the hardest part for Nico to swallow about it is that he genuinely does not remember what happened. Nico knows that he loves Lacey and he is determined to do anything to get her and his unborn child back.

I love this book and I highly recommend it, but to make the story even better make sure you read books 1-4 in the double play series first. Now, bring on Miguel and Alessandra.

Lacey Turner is a no holds barred kind of girl. She knows what she wants, and she takes it, no questions asked. Nicholas Johnson aka Nico is a hot shot baseball player, who also happens to be the brother of Lacey’s best friend and cousin Bella’s husband Damon. When the two meet, the sparks are instantaneous, and their chemistry burns the pages. However, one night changed everything. Nico knows he didn’t do anything wrong, but unfortunately pictures don’t lie…or do they? As Lacey and Nico try to navigate through their issues, outside forces are trying to tear them apart. The question is, are these two strong enough to see the truth, or will they let the outsiders trying to tear them apart win?

This is the fifth book in the Double Play Series, and I definitely recommend reading the first books in this series to fully understand everything that happens in this book. With that being said, this book was a fantastic and quick read. I will say at some points, I just wanted to smack Lacey, but the way that Nicole writes, you want to smack her characters, but you also understand why they act and feel the way they do. I was rooting for Nico and Lacey from the first time we were introduced to them as a potential coupling. Nicole didn’t disappoint with these two. She had me feeling every type of emotion when it came to their relationship with each other. This is a book that you won’t be able to put down!

Why my heart!!

Why do good things need to come to an end!
I absolutely LOVED Lacey and Nico’s story. It was one that I have been dying for! Getting little hints and taste of their love in books 3 and 4 just made me want their book even more.

Lacey has been one of my favorite characters in this series right behind Savannah! How they both are smart mouth and sassy and strong. My heart also broke for her with how she grew up without a loving mother in her life, until Savannah came in and took over that roll and helped change her.

Nico I was on the fence about cuz of his reasoning for wanting to be with Lacey but in this book he totally redeemed himself, to me! You finally get to see his true love for Lacey and he killed me with all the feels!!!

I am sad to see these series go away but happy to have them all and be able to re-read them whenever I want!

**A little Hint Hint....it seems like the series might not be over with after all🤔🧐😆. You will have to read to find out because my lips are sealed!**

Nico and Lacey were both living the single life to the fullest, neither one going back for repeats because they didn't want to get hurt. Then when they are forced to go on a double date with Bella and Damon (Nico is Damon's younger brother and Lacey is Bella's roommate and cousin) the chemistry is off the charts and neither one wants to commit or walk away. But life has a funny way of working out and three years later they have been off and on the entire time but neither one seeing any one else during that time.

I was worried about this one since we had already seen their relationship through the last two books and I wasn't sure I wanted to re-read it all. But it wasn't like that and I really enjoyed the execution on this one. Nico and Lacey have a mountain of issues against them and that is how this book plays out - with them trying to navigate their issues in present day. They are going to therapy and during their therapy sessions we get flash backs to provide insight into the some of the things we had questions about in the first two books. Some don't like flash backs but I loved them in this book. It was perfect. Nico was amazing, I really loved they way that he was committed to Lacey and wasn't going to give up no matter what roadblocks were put up by anyone. And boy there were some doozies. Lacey kind of irked me. She seemed too angry IMO for what was revealed as her issue with men but then the drama with her mom made my heart break for her. Another hot read from Nicole that I recommend.

I’ve loved every single one of the Double Play books and Walk Off doesn’t let me down.
I’ve been anticipating and anxiously awaiting Nico and Lacey’s Story since they first got together back in Damon and Bella’s book.
So, first this has a surprise sub-genre plot that isn’t usually my favorite (can’t tell you what it is because it’s a surprise twist and I’m not going to spoil it for you) but damn - the way Nicole Rodrigues writes it makes me love it!
Nico and Lacey are beautifully broken and piece each other back together. On again and off again for years, they heal each other with their mutual passion, love, and stubbornness. Their chemistry is fire and their love for one another conquers all their obstacles (and boy are there a lot!!!).

This book checks all my boxes:
Strong, feisty female lead - check ✅
Dominant sexy male lead - check ✅
Super steamy scenes - check ✅
Major emotional and physical chemistry with lots of wit/banter give & take - check ✅
All the feels - check ✅
Happy ever after - check ✅

Highly recommended for the the sports romance fans!

Just when you think Nicole brings it home with the last book in the series, she shocks you not only in the book but also at the end. I have enjoyed reading each book in this series and going along the ride with this amazing human being. Book #5 this one, if I had to chose was my absolute favorite! So 5 plus for this as always amazing job, and I loved watching you grow Nicole.
