Anna Maria Petrova and Prince Stepan Shevchenko

a very compelling story of a young woman falling in love with her brother's best friend while he's trying his best NOT to fall in love with her. Stepan has become a smuggler and its become harder to get his goods into England when a new captain is making it impossible and wants to make him an example. He's cunning and goes above the law to get what he wants and he's not afraid to use force if necessary.
Creative ending and a nice conclusion for this story and series. The author had me reading late into the night because I couldn't put it down and wanted to finish it because it got so exciting towards the end.

This was such a great closure to the Kuban series. Anna's story of her struggles of growing up under the harsh hand of her grieving father added to the desire to be a young independent woman made for and interesting mix of wild moments. Stephan in the previous books was just there, being the voice of reason, finally is put to the challenge and like any stubborn horse is finally broken. I enjoyed to overall story. The element of suspense, fun, romance was well balanced.
