Hardworking Omega Chris was always more concerned with his friends and family than himself. He feels lonely as it seems that everyone around him in Shale River is either getting married or having babies. When the bank manager hears that his old flame, the chiseled Alpha Doug, may be appearing at a charitable gala, his heart skips a beat upon thinking about the one that got away.
When his wealthy family's patience with his carefree, playboy lifestyle runs out, the wild bachelor Doug must act quickly to get back into their good graces. At a community fundraiser, all of Shale River is thrilled when he announces that he is getting married in a year - and nobody is more surprised than the groom-to-be, Chris! Will Doug's scheme to win over his family backfire? How long can the straight-laced Chris juggle a fake marriage before friends and family take notice?
This is the first novella about the Alpha Doug and his Omega Chris. This re-release contains an enemies-to-lovers story line, scenes of love and lust between and Alpha/Omega couple, pregnancy risk, non-shifter mpreg in an Omegaverse world, and handsome country gentlemen in cowboy hats and tight jeans working their hardest for a happy ending.
When you're an alpha, and you're a rich spoiled guy, and you didn't know what to do with your life, and you started finding out that living with an independent omega is a stellar choice, you're ruined your life. Good thing is, Chris is a very nice guy. And Doug was very lucky having him. I liked this sweet alpha omega dynamic, an opposite attracts and all. Doug need to learn from his life that you can't have anything you want in your life, especially what money can't buy. Actually this is a typical omega verse mpreg story just like any other, but I liked that the author put some 'problem' into their relationship, that they need to work on that. I liked that however sweet Chris is, he can be a little 'hard' for Doug, and gave him a lesson he need. Of course they have their HEA, and I'm a happy girl!
Interesting start so far. This is just a quick introduction to the characters and the story. It's the set up for the plot to come mostly. Chris is really just a decent guy who wants to help everyone and is struggling with not being able to. His town is suffering a crises that's affecting everyone, except the rich and as a bank manager he's trying to do all he can to help people survive financially. I'm not sure really how I feel I about Doug yet. I'm not really a fan of his blindsiding Chris. I'll have to see if he gets better later. I can't really comment on them together because we don't really see that yet, though they do have a past. Doug ghosted Chris, another strike for him. But I'm still reserving judgement. We'll see how the story progresses.
This is actually a sweet MM romance about a spoilt rich alpha playboy (Doug) & a workaholic omega (Chris) & the emotional feelings that gradually develops between them. The story-line & plot was interesting but I feel that the personalities of the characters were not fully developed. There is: drama, mild twists, secrets, deceit, family issues, a fake engagement, attractions, discovery, disagreements, verbal conflict, Mpreg, financial issues, reconciliation, apologies, some steam & a happy conclusion. I will admit that this MM romance did keep my attention & I look forward to reading future books from this author.
Omega's Wealth of Secrets 1 by MacKenzie Wilde introduces us to Chris and Doug. A second chance romance, meets fake fiance trope meets mpreg, this story is entertaining to read. The characters are interesting and fun. Worth the read. Cant wait for next book.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
This is a quick and short read that is a cross between a second chance romance and a fake relationship all in one. Chris, an omega, and Doug, an alpha, had dated until Doug ghosted Chris. But now Doug needs his family off his back and announces that he and Chris are engaged! Can't wait to see how this all plays out. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
First book by this author and I liked it but it took a bit to connect with the characters. I am hoping that with this just being a start to the series, I will enjoy the story more with the next installment.
A short story about an Omega who ends up the object of an Alphas plan to get his nagging rich parents off his back. Things are awkward and unsure but will these two fall in love or fizzle out?
