Being an adult has its advantages...

Lucas Abbott and his identical twin grew up sharing everything—including a reputation for funny, idiotic behavior. But now that Lucas is ready to shed that lovable-idiot image, grow up and have a real, adult relationship, the joke’s on him. He and his twin have fallen for the same woman.

Crushed and hoping a few days on the slopes will work out his frustrations, he heads for Stowe, Vermont. All thought of fun and relaxation flies away as a car spins out in a snowstorm, and his firefighter/paramedic training kicks into high gear.

Danielle Rowson is hoping to pick up the pieces and build a new life for herself and her daughter in Vermont. Winding up in a ditch in the middle of a blizzard isn’t part of the plan—and neither is the kind, sexy rescuer whose strong hands pull them to safety.

Lucas has been a little kid, a big kid and now an adult—and he discovers that adulting has more than one advantage. Especially when it comes to sharing with Dani and Savannah the one thing that’s his and his alone: his love.

Lucas and Landon Abbott are identical twins who have share everything in life. That comes to a screeching halt when they both fall for the same woman. For his own sanity, and out of respect for Landon and his family, Lucas takes off for a ski trip that should get his mind off of the situation. When Lucas witnesses a car spinning around on the road, right in the middle of a snowstorm, he uses his instincts as a paramedic and a firefighter to help the driver.

Danielle Rowson is a single mother who lost the love of her life while she was pregnant. She drew into a tight shell, letting family take care of everything for her. She realized that the only way that she can truly survive was to strike out on her own with her daughter. This means leaving everything she'd ever known. She is headed to Stowe, Vermont, to follow through on some job opportunities and with hopes of finding a new home. While driving, the weather conditions force her car into a ditch.

When a handsome stranger comes to her rescue, Danielle is naturally wary. After all, she has her baby Savannah with her and their safety is paramount. He identifies himself, and assures her that he is trained in just this type of emergency, and offers to help them in several ways.

What a wonderful story! For starters, Danielle and Savannah are wonderful together, but it is how Lucas and Savannah bond that truly touched my heart. Also, Lucas's mother has ten children, and most now have significant others and are having their own children. Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the town moose. Not something I read of often, and this was a cute addition to the story. There is a fantastic sense of family while reading this book. It is a very warm read that was impossible to put down. I simply had to read this book in one sitting.

Till There Was You is pat of a long-running series, and is the fourth book in the Butler, Vermont series. Although I hadn't read any of the previous titles, this book did well as a standalone. There are a lot of family members, and they have all had their stories, and some of them come through the pages of this book I do wish I knew about the extended Abbott family before reading this book, because I do so love the sense of continuity existing within the pages of a good series. I look forward to reading Landon's story soon.

Many thanks to HTJB, Inc. and to Inkslinger PR for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

I am so glad I picked this series up again because I loved this book! I thought it was going somewhere very different and I was pleasantly surprised that it when somewhere else.

I loved Lucas’ HEA!! I loved the feelings I had while listening it felt like he was where he needed to be.

If I had one thing I wished was different was more scenes with his brother, they were so close in other books I missed that connection in this one.

Again loved the narrator she is fantastic.

TILL THERE WAS YOU is the fourth book in the Butler, Vermont series. Dani drove off the road right in front of Lucas Abbott! Of course he goes to help her and her infant daughter Savannah! Lucas has been licking his wounds as the girl he likes is more into his twin brother Landon! Now that he has met Dani and has been spending some time with her he forgets all about his troubles and only wants to help her get her life back on track.  Dani has her doubts because she is just an office worker on top of being a single mom and Lucas  is a rich and extremely hot man. Dani isn't sure if his feelings for her are for real as he could have any woman in the world. Dani sees herself as someone totally out of his league, but she sure feels the sparks that fly between them when they are together. To all of you book boyfriend collectors......I'm calling dibs on Lucas right this very minute! Back off!

It's always great to revisit all my old friends in Butler, Vermont and TILL THERE WAS YOU is the perfect way to spend the afternoon. You will get wonderful updates on all the residents and the Abbott family. It was nice to see the whole Abbott family rally around Dani and Savannah and give them the support they needed. While they want Dani to be happy, they want her to be careful but to trust her heart.

TILL THERE WAS YOU will have you laughing and crying at the same time. I was cheering for Dani and Lucas to get it all together and  be happy. How does Marie Force keep making me fall in love with this family over and over again? It's her perfect writing and descriptions that pull at your heart and never let you go. I absolutely love this Butler, Vermont series. She has a way of pulling you right in from the very first page and never letting you go until the very end. She grabs your heart and makes you fall in love with all of her characters. The Abbott siblings along with a constantly trouble stirring dad and grandfather, make this a series worth reading. I always feel like I'm visiting with of friends while reading these wonderful stories.

Lucas Abbott is known as one of the clowns of the Abbott family, along with his twin brother Landon. But lately Lucas feels like he doesn’t want to be labeled a clown and is interested in finding one woman to be with, growing up a little bit. The only problem is the woman he is interested in is also dating his brother. Figuring a weekend away will help him find perspective, Lucas heads to a friend’s cabin to ski and get his head on straight. When he watches the car in front of him spin out in a snowstorm, his firefighter training kicks in and he goes into rescue mode.

Danielle Rowson is trying to get her feet under her again, with her young daughter in tow. When she decided to relocate to Vermont, she hadn’t anticipated the weather causing a problem, nor did she consider that lodging in ski territory would be difficult to come by. Her attempts at providing for Savannah on her own are challenging her self confidence, especially as she finds herself relying on the help of a stranger at what seems like every step of the way.

I loved watching Lucas take on a more responsible role over the course of this book. He is still the fun-loving guy we knew, but it was his time to discover what it feels like to have people he loves who depend on him. This also means that for the first time, he is considering more than himself when he makes decisions about the future. Dani was not an easy choice for him, with the possibility that she wouldn’t even end up in Butler, but I loved the way she fit so seamlessly into the Abbott clan. Dani’s choices were a little more complicated. Her backstory broke my heart, but I loved the strength she showed even by just venturing to Vermont (even in those moments she didn’t see her own strength).

I always love returning to Butler and Green Mountain. Lincoln and Elmer are up to their matchmaking as usual, even when they aren’t directly involved with the match. The antics of this entire family, and Fred the Moose continues to entertain in each installment. This is one of those long standing series that has not faded with time, and I love just as much today as I did when I picked up the first. Each new installment rekindles the warmth, camaraderie, and community that is central to this series.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Not going to give much more insight into the latest from Marie Force in the Butler, Vermont Series. A very generous book blurb has been provided. Book 4 brings all the fun, laughter and heart and soul that we've come to expect via the Abbott Family. Two new characters literally crash into this story and Lucas, the oldest of the Lucas/Landon twin comedy show, is there to extend a helping hand. Little does he know that his life is about to take a major turn. Lucas is pure gold. I loved Dani and her little girl -- you'll adore them both, too. I admit that #4 might have topped my list. The story touched my heart and I wanted them both to become a permanent part of Butler, Vermont and its wonderful group of characters. The Abbotts, of course, welcomed them with open arms. Even Fred, the Town Moose, is cheering them on!

The  Butler Vermont series  is the self-published continuation of the Green Mountain series . I would read the Green Mountain series first as it is the basis with developing the town and its characters and I loved so many of these books. The Abbott family, their cousins, and this small town have captured my heart from the first book with Will. Oh Will, how I love thee.

Till There Was You is back to the main Abbot family. Lucas and his twin have been the silly, never commit guys in the family. They both have a lot of responsibility as lieutenants for the fire department, where they are very capable. Now Lucas decides he wants to be an adult and have the kind of relationships some of his siblings have.

Dani and her daughter slide into his life as a rescue. He likes them and wants to help them. So instead of skiing on his days off, he helps them. I did think some of the things they had the 4 month old doing were more realistic for an older baby.  I love how she loves Lucas right away.

I always enjoy the small town, the General Store business and the big circle of family and friends. I thought this romance was very authentic and I LOVED how Lucas gave Dani time to have her personal development so she could have a relationship as an adult partner. I appreciated how she always saw the strengths Lucas had. Some of his family had overlooked his competence because of his being one of the younger children and his silly personality.

I always, always want more in this series. I'm so happy it is back in the author's rotation again.

"Bottom line, Landon and I have always been tight. And then this woman Amanda came to town to sell sex toys at the store, and suddenly -"

"Whoa! Sex toys at the store? You're going to need to unpack that for me."

His low chuckle echoed through the big kitchen. "I suppose that does warrant some explanation."

"Ah, yeah. Please proceed."

"My family owns the Green Mountain Country Store."

"What? Seriously? I have an interview there this week!"

"Really?"

"Yes! It's my first choice. I devoured the website. I'd love to work there."

"I might be able to help." He leaned in closer, adding in a conspiratorial whisper, "I know people."

Till There Was You was an awesome read. That was perfectly paced, sweet and adorably romantic. As well as fun and full of frolics. Thanks to the brilliantly written and ever expanding Abbott family; and I was completely pulled in from the very first sentence. As Lucas was such an endearing, charming and sweet guy and I loved the friendship and relationship he built with Dani and her daughter Savannah. And the series really does just get better and better and I can't wait to read more from it in the future. Would highly recommend.

•••••••••

REVIEW: 4.25 stars--TILL THERE WAS YOU is the fourth instalment in Marie Force’s contemporary, adult BUTLER, VERMONT romance series focusing on the Abbott’s and their extended family of cousins, in-laws and friends. This is fire fighter/paramedic Lucas Abbott, and single mother/ retail manager Danielle ‘Dani’ Rowson’s story line. TILL THERE WAS YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. The BUTLER, VERMONT series is a spin-off from the author’s GREEN MOUNTAIN SERIES but you do not need to have read the original series to understand or follow.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Dani and Lucas) TILL THERE WAS YOU follows single mother Dani Rowson as she ventures out on her own, only to drive into a blinding snowstorm where she will be rescued by our story line hero. With no place to go Lucas Abbott offers Dani and her infant daughter a place to stay, an offer that will turn into something more. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Dani and Lucas, and the potential fall-out as Dani struggles with her need to be independent.

Dani Rowson knows love and loss. Hoping to make a new start, our heroine heads to Butler, Vermont in the hopes of finding a job, and a new place to live. Unprepared for the Vermont weather, Dani finds herself in a desperate situation until a timely rescue by the man with whom she will fall in love. Lucas Abbott’s day wasn’t going so well. Angry with his twin Landon, Lucas heads to Stowe, Vermont for a little R&R where he will come face to face with his future in the guise of Dani Rowson.

The relationship between Dani and Lucas is one of immediate attraction and instant chemistry, but our heroine is desperate for a place to stay, and finds temporary accommodations with our story line hero. Believing he has found his happily ever after, Lucas struggles to keep his distance from the woman with whom he is falling in love. The limited $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

As per the series, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including the parents Lincoln and Molly Abbott, and grandfather Elmer; Lucas’ twin brother Landon, and several characters (Abbott family members) from the author’s Green Mountain series.

TILL THERE WAS YOU is a story of family, friendships, loss and love; a story of grief, starting over and second chances (of a sorts). The premise is engaging, real and entertaining: the characters are fun, energetic and familiar; the romance is seductive. TILL THERE WAS YOU is a heart warming, sweet and wonderful story with fantastic characters including a lonely moose called Fred.

Lucas needs a bit of distance. For the first time in his life, he is angry with his twin brother Landon. Because they are interested in the same woman. Amanda. But when Lucas discovers that Amanda is the woman Landon has brought to their joint birthday party at their parent’s place, he knows that he needs some distance. There is no way for him to interfere in the relationship of his brother with Amanda. And on his way to ha holiday home in the mountains, he meets Dani. And from that moment on, his life changes completely.

A really romantic novel that was just a little too predictable. There were no surprises of any kind. Otherwise, it was wonderful entertainment as usual. The Abbott family is simply great and many characters from the previous volumes appear here briefly or slightly longer.

As usual, the author writes sensitively, gently and repeats one or the other in different ways over the entire course of the plot.

The author knows how to create her characters. And some of them stand out from all the others. Lucas´s mother Molly is one of them. She knows what to say when to say it and how to smooth everything out.

Dani is a young woman who does everything to give her daughter Savannah the best she can get. But she is also a young woman who doubts every step she is doing and who has no real self-confidence. The moment she meets Lucas and relies on his help because she has no other choice, she starts to realize how much she wants him in her life and that of her daughter. But she also wants to be independent and see whether she can cope with life on her own. And then there is her past. A past she is not sure if she will ever be able to leave it behind without forgetting everything.

Wonderful entertainment with a few minor weaknesses. Here you can relax very well for a few nice hours while reading. The reunion with some characters from the previous volumes was wonderful and was a real pleasure. I can only recommend.

5 Star Review of Till There Was You (Butler, Vermont #4)

Reading a Green Mountain or Butler Vermont book is to me like going home to visit my family. I love the Abbott family and absolutely loved Till There Was You.

I have been intrigued by Lucas and Landon Abbott from the first time they were mentioned and my interest has only been peaked as each book in the series was written. So to say I have been waiting for Lucas’s book is an understatement.

Marie Force did not disappoint in any way. It is an extremely well written sweet, sexy and romantic book. Marie Force's characters are often slightly flawed, yet so realistic and relatable that you cannot help but be drawn to them.

Landon has always been his best friend, not just his twin, so to say Lucas is lost when they both fall for Amanda is an understatement.
Lucas is feeling adrift, resenting the one person he has always been able to depend on.

Escaping from his family, Lucas offers help to
Dani and her gorgeous little girl Savvy. Little does he know that decision will change his life for ever.

Dani’s story is heartbreaking and I admit to shedding a few tears as the story unfolded. It was heart warming to watch the growth and development of Lucas as he really came in to his own in this story and I loved it.

Till There Was You is at times a heart wrenching story of determination, courage, strength and above all love and acceptance. As always the Abbott family embrace Dani and Savvy with open arms and hearts.

The relationship between Lucas and Savvy was beautiful to witness. This is one of my favourite series and one I highly recommend and I cannot wait for the next book which promises to be just as amazing.

Oh, how I've waited for the twin's stories and first up we have Lucas!

Lucas and Landon have never really been taken seriously in the family. Always the ones a little on the goofy side and could get any girl they wanted. Definitely the last ones to ever settle down. And with their birthday approaching, Lucus is starting to get a little mad at always being the brunt of the jokes. And when Landon and Lucas end up having feelings for the same woman, it starts to get a little too real for Lucas and no one takes him at face value.

I loved seeing this other side to Lucas. The last thing he was looking for when he takes off for a weekend to find himself, is to find the love of his life. Especially two of them.

Lucas was so sweet. So enduringly committed to Dani and Savvy from the start. It was not surprising, especially from the family he comes from. Yet it was a nice change of pace for the man we have known as the womanizing comedian of the family. Lucas felt like he had a lot to prove, not only to his family but to himself and Dani.

Dani, even though she was a mess, she was strong and courageous. She had been through so much but she kept pushing through to do what she thought best for her baby girl and herself.

I really loved Lucus and Dani's story and I just can't wait for more stories from Bulter, Vermont.

I've missed the Green Mountain series a lot. This series is simple small town Vermont but still a enjoyable easy read. The Abbott's grew on me and this crazy fun loud group are a delight. I'm happy to see Lucas's story, he was a joker in the family before here. But always kind and loyal. He was thinking about becoming adult and serious when he started having trouble with his brother and a woman they both liked. He went away to think about it and an unexpected detour helped him figure things out. I think it's good he had his grandpa got his back and helped him.

He rescued Dani and Savvy from a ditch, helped them out. They had their own story back in Kentucky, Dani's late fiancee passed in an accident. She's determined to start agai, stand on her own. Lucas was extremely kind to them and was always there for them. Lucas soon felt more and Dani was unsure. I liked that he was patient with her and respected her feelings. Also gave her space andet things go on it's own. He waited and was good solid friends first. It was pretty slow burn their romance.

Lucas loved Savvy like his own and it was so heartwarming to see. The Abbott's embraced Savvy and Dani into their fold, it was such fun seeing the family antics. Soon Dani will have to confront her fears about Lucas's job. It was great how that was handled, no miscommunication and argument. They dealt with issues maturely and it was so refreshing, no unnecessary angst. It was great to see Lucas mature and grow into his own qnd still be witty and caring.

I'm glad Lucas got a different heroine in Dani than Amanda who I don't really know much. Nor care for with how she was at first. Many updates on the family, baby boom season for them. It will be interesting to see how the Landon's book plays out.

I always love coming back to the quaint little town of Butler, Vermont and the amazing, boisterous Abbott family!

I really enjoyed Lucas' story! We've known Lucas and his twin Landon to be rapscallions with devastatingly good looks and the sense of humor of a 12-year-old but it was awesome to see another, more vulnerable side to him. Lucas is struggling with his feelings for a woman his brother also has feelings for as well as his loyalty to his brother. Everything comes to a head at their twenty-seventh birthday party when Landon brings the woman to the party, devastating Lucas even more. Little did Lucas know that fate had other plans for him!

I absolutely love Lucas! This charming ladykiller is forever changed when he meets the lovely and resilient Dani and her beautiful daughter Savannah. The chemistry between the two is strong and Lucas is defenseless against the girls!

I loved watching Lucas "grow up" in the story. Lucas believed that now that he's older, he should put childish things behind him but Dani, Savannah and the rest of the Abbott family help him realize that he can still be the Lucas he's always been and accept and revel in the responsibilities of an adult.

And this can't be a Butler, VT book without the entire Abbott family butting in to everyone's business! There are tender moments between Lucas and Landon, Hannah and Dani and many more! And, as usual, Fred the Moose steals the show!

TILL THERE WAS YOU is not just a favorite Beatles' song, it's an amazing book of love, of growth, of grief, of perseverance and of hope! I would highly recommend this or any book in the Green Mountain/Butler, Vermont series!

In true Marie Force fashion this is another heartwarming, sexy romance with to-die-for characters. And two characters come close to a tragic ending when a frigid day turns deadly for the lovely but frazzled, Danielle and her daughter. But thanks to the heroics of Lucas, the three begin a wonderful journey of healing and discovery that leads to a surprising romance that would melt anybody's heart. Lucas finally finds who he is outside of being a twin and becomes the man he was meant to be not only for himself but for Dani and Savannah too. This author has given us another fantastic romance in a gorgeous setting with characters that jump off the pages right into our hearts. This is a great addition to an outstanding series that always tugs on the heartstrings and includes a wonderful romance. Loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

Lucas and Dani have an amazing story! I loved the way they met and how they had an instant connection. Lucas showed a different side to himself. I have really enjoyed his goofy, fun loving side, but I was looking forward to his more serious, grownup side. Dani has been through so much, but she has a strong desire to be a good mom and stand on her own. I loved how Lucas was there for her at every turn. It strengthened their bond and connection, as well as slowly built their attraction. Savannah is the scene stealer of this book. Kids always bring so much more to the story. I adored the way Lucas fell for her, just as quickly as he did for her momma. The Abbott family is quite simply, THE BEST. I love every new story we get, and I can’t wait for the next one.

Lucas and his twin brother Landon have always done everything together whether at work or play but now they have both fallen for the same woman. Feeling alone he decides to take some time away from his family and the situation.

Dani and her daughter have a painful past, so they are on their way to Vermont for a new beginning. When she ends up in the ditch Lucas comes to her rescue and neither expected that this accident could be the best thing to ever happen to them.

After all that Dani has been through, she is so much stronger than even she realizes but she is cautious as she has her daughter to thinks of. Lucas was understanding yet determined as Dani and her daughter gave him a purpose and now that he had them in his life, he wasn’t about to let them go. This story has all the feels and it is always great to catch up with the Abbott family.

2.5 stars. I used to love Marie Force books, but now they just don’t have the same appeal as they use to. The characters are just so damn perfect (in this case it was Lucas). Also, since Lucas have 9 siblings and majority of the siblings have spouses, there was a lot of repetition of what was going on in his life every time he ran into a family member. It just got really old and boring really fast, and I found myself skimming a lot. I will say that Savvy was adorable though.

Abbott love

Marie did another amazing job on the Abbott family.

Lucas and Dani's story was funny, sad and so loving.

I think this one was my favorite of the series so far. I loved Lucas so much and Dani was so strong, smart and witty. Baby Savannah was just the icing on the cake.
The feels and the laughs just kept me turning page after page

Marie Force has another winner here and I just loved Lucas and Dani’s story.

You have to feel sorry for everything that Dani has gone thru and you can’t help but to pull for her and Lucas. And Savvy, man she winds Lucas around all of her fingers.

Can’t wait to get Landon’s story next.
