It seems rather fitting that I’m a grim reaper who happens to be a widow. In fact, my husband’s death ignited a chain of events that shook my life and landed me as GRS’s newest grim reaper. He’s been dead for over a year, but I can’t shake the feeling that the circumstances surrounding his car accident aren’t what they appear. My suspicions are confirmed when I find a receipt for a storage locker rented in his name. Of course, I have to investigate, but what will I find? Was he leading a double life, cheating on me? If only. What I find makes me wish another family in Ohio was all he’d been mixed up in.As pieces of the puzzle surrounding my husband’s death fall into place, I discover a scheme so diabolical, it could change the face of death as we know it—and not in a good way. Using our mad reaper skills, my partner Nate and I skirt the edge of ethereal rules, call on some old friends to help, and learn there’s a lot more to being a grim reaper than we ever imagined—or wanted to know.
They really need an editor but I enjoyed the story enough that I decided I didn't mind. This reads more like a teaser to a book, I felt like once we really got momentum it abruptly ended, it's too short and does not complete the story it sets up in its 152 pages.
I'll give it 2.5 stars. I realy enjoy this series but this book is way too short to be a book and needs a proofer!
I enjoyed the first two books in this series, then we had a long wait for the 3rd book. Honestly I don’t feel like looking up how long.. but it was long enough for me to not remember parts of the first two books.
I was looking forward to reading this book when I heard a third was finally coming out. This is a short book. Some interesting things occur but I was just left dissatisfied. Lisa is a funny character and references how some males make her feel and how she wants “alone” time with her bf. When she finally get it, it is totally brushed over. The story itself is too short and a cliffhanger. While most series have aspects of cliffhangers I feel this one was not warranted and should have been longer and was disappointed with the story after waiting for so long. Not sure I have enough interest in reading a 4th book at this point.
So I love this series but I feel like it was only half a book and she just had to publish something so it was only half done :/ Still a fun book but lacking in the end.

Well, after a long wait for book 3, we get half a book. Now, it is a good first half of a story. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but it doesn't wrap up the main action of the story either. It ends at a chapter break. Only 150 pages, which wouldn't be so bad if there was a whole story in those pages, but sadly, no. Really just half a story. 3 stars only because the story, SO FAR, is good. I pre-ordered and paid full price for the Kindle edition of what I thought was a novel, not a serialized novella. Disappointed.
Just another day in the life of a GRS employee . Lisa Carron has had a really rough year . After her husband's death a little over a year ago her world has been topsy turvy . The day she thinks she has a handle on her and her children's life a mysterious reciept shows up and throws hers and Nates lives over the edge yet again. As the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place , there is still things that aren't fitting . With Nate and some of her old friends helping out things will get figured out . But will they survive to live another day. Lisa and Nate are back and honestly funnier then ever . Lisa just keeps getting better and better . Her snarky attitude is back and working better then ever . She also still has a sadness about her, trying to grieve for her husband , the new man in her life and well working for a living has her going every which way . I love her cause she is the heroine of the story but she isn't perfect in any sense of the word . Now Nate well he is still lovable as ever and still as sexy as sin . He is really conflicted in this book , he knows what he wants but there is something that is stopping him . Some characters are back to help them out Mara is back and still as kick butt as she was in book two . We also get to meet a new Reaper who is as deadly as he is sexy . Oh and then there is Chaos , you will love this evil character . Oh and we get to meet Lisa's brother Jerad not sure about him yet he seems like a player in away I sat down and started reading this book and couldn't put it down, I love this authors way of writing . Her characters are snarky and sassy and you just can't get enough of them. The characters just keep getting better and more complex . This is a fun read and i was giggling through out the whole story. . There is so much that actually gets revealed in this book that will make you go OMG and then have you saying ahah i can't believe they just did that or wow i didn't see that coming . I will let you know that this book has a big cliff hanger and i can't wait for book 4 now cause i really want to know what the heck will happen. Like will Alaska survive the onslaught that is coming , will Nate and Lisa finally have more then one romantic night together and will Bronte come out of her teen age snit . I strongly suggest that you read the book in order so you can really get the feel for Lisa and the gang . Trust me you will laugh so hard you will snort and there are some moments where you will just want wrap each of them up in a blanket and hug them tight. Over all you will laugh yourself silly and fall in love with each and every character . So if you want a fun, fast read check it out
Lisa Carron is an affable character who strikes a quick chord in the heart of any woman. She tries to keep so many balls in the air. Having recovered from her grief over the death of her husband, she has a new live interest in her life and a brand new career. Finding she is quite skilled as a reaper yet prone to the same bumbling coordination of her human life. Lisa sets out to find out who killed her husband. The secrets keep flowing and Lisa must find a next context in her life experiences as she decides whether or not to take on a God. Way too short! Have fun reading.
Lisa has been a grim reaper for two years now since her husband’s car accident which may not be such an accident after all. Nate, her partner and possibly boyfriend, work together to try to figure out what is going on with other reaper’s and what Jeff’s possible connection could be.
Never one to disappoint, Brux’s third book in the Grime Reality Series is funny and easy to read. Her characters are engaging and relatable, complete with their own quirks and issues. My only complaint is that I would have liked the book to be longer and continue a little farter instead of waiting for the next installment. I felt it was a little unfinished for me.
Other readers have made the same comment, so I know I'm not the only frustrated reader. This was a very short installment in the Grim Reaper series. As I was reading I kept noticing how close I was getting to the end and realizing that there wasn't going to be enough time to resolve the conflict. So, I was quite disappointed that this book was obviously just a set up for another book and nothing else. Lisa, the main character, wasn't quite as interesting in this book either. Some of the major reveals (what characters are also Reapers) seemed to be thrown in.
I really love this series and this was a great one. I wish they were longer or she was able to release them faster. I always read these in one sitting as they are so entertaining. I enjoyed the new twists to Lisa's family in this one. She always seems to find out something new and it's a great set-up to what to expect in the next one. This series is well worth the read and the wait in between stories.
I tend to be stingy about passing out 5 star ratings on serialized books that leave you hanging with a cliffhanger ending but this one was just so much fun it didn't seem fair to criticize it for the fact that I'm dying to know what happens in the next installment. Fireweed and Brimstone is packed so full of action and uncovered secrets that I really didn't mind not having all the loose ends tied up. Loved this one and can't wait for the next story.
I have been a huge fan of this series since the first page. I love Lisa, she kicks serious butt. This book is a bit intense. Lisa's dead husband had some secrets and so does everyone else. Lisa is in the dark about it all. I'm kind of mad for her, like she's real!!! LOL. I love the people she has to reap too, funny stuff. There were on!y a few typos.
But so pissed off when I finish and have to wait for next instalment but gonna catch up on Mara’s back story now woo hoo. Still think we need to look into cloning excellent authors so we can get more stories 😊
Another great book in the reaper series, love the wise cracks and witty humour of the hard, yet soft hearted Lisa...looking forward to the next instalment, as there's a cliffhanger in this book. It was a shame the book was not longer, it was definitely a page turner had highly recommended read

What was Lisa's husband up to - was his death really an accident? Why is Nate withdrawn? Who is the big guy? Who can Lisa trust? And why is Nate so determined not to go to dinner with Lisa's parents?
Loved this, although it felt way too short. It was good to see Lisa and Nate developing plus a lot more into her dead husband's life. Definitely a good addition to the series.
I enjoy this series. I like the characters and the humorous dialog. The story ends with a lot of questions- not good- but if the next book comes soon I’ll be ok.
The story was lively and never dull. It's like you couldn't wait for the next twist. A fun read. Her novels run on the short side or I just like them a lot.
The story has a cliffhanger ending that needs to be resolved in another book. I could not find the sequel on Amazon, so I feel the story is spoiled for me.
