The book was enjoyable & engaging, different than most dragon shifter books. The concept of twin flames, a distant fae realm, a teen who doesn't know she is the future fae queen, all add up to making it an interesting read.

This book was quite a bit better than the previous. I still find myself really annoyed with Emma most of the time. This girl drives me insane. She spends the majority of the book being a quivering Mary Sue, but somehow manages to pull out massive amounts of courage, wisdom, and power at random and infrequent intervals.

I no longer like Dave the best, he may or may not have cheated on Emma with a whore. The worst part about that situation was Emma never held him accountable for it, she just got distracted by his kiss...situations like that make me so angry.

I’m also pretty sure that Emma is an epileptic who suffers from narcolepsy. I swear. The amount of time this girl just collapses/faints/falls asleep out of no where, that diagnosis is the only answer. Fainting as often as she does makes Emma seem more vulnerable and weak. I don’t like it.

I also have to say that the sexy times they have together are cringeworthy. I’m embarrassed for Emma. I get extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable reading about her intimate experiences. Apparently this girl has no clue about life. She doesn’t even know when she’s turned on or what it means. I’m surprised she even knew how the pieces fit. Seriously, the first few experiences she had with her guys gave me the creeps. It felt like she was about 10/11 years old...I hated it and actually skipped those parts...because children have no business having sex, and that’s what it felt like was happening.

DNF. Author completely lost main protagonist. Somewhere along the way she turned stupid and gullible.
Emma doesn't understand anything people tell her. When someone tries to explain what happening, she just goes on repeat "I don't understand". She could take apart cars in the first book and now she cannot even follow a simple conversation?!
She keeps letting go on serious matters. Her stalker killed a man - ignore it. No-one tell her what happening - let it go for now and see if she can be angry at them later. Have intimate moment with Dave - avoid him and be awkward with him as if nothing happened.
And the relationship!!! Well lets be honest there isn't one. They are all mated/meant to be together so they don't need to have any development, right? They don't need to even talk! Emma's solution to "get to know" her flame is to swear the oath to them and have sex with them, instead of talking and getting to know them - that thing she is on and on about for 50% of the book.
I get the feeling the author is building up to a huge plot twist with all the little hints here and there, but there isn't anything substantial. I predict that it all will unravel in a last chapter, ending with a cliffhanger and render a whole book pointless....luckily for me, i will not going to read the ending.

Flames of Fear was so good, it was an excellent sequel to the first book in the series. The story picks up shortly after where Flames of Truth ended and there is tension in the air. The Drakon brothers are mad at Emma for not telling them about her stalker and Emma is mad at them because of their reaction, after all they have only just met and things have kinda been out of control. Either way both sides are a little pissed and things get crazier when others show up and truths are revealed.

Emma is really starting to grow into her new role as an heir to Faerie and as a twin flame. Emma is starting to be more confident in life and more forward with her guys. Emma is getting to know the guys more, moving closer to them and acting more forward with them as well. While this is a reverse harem the story isn't insta-love and they do have problems in their relationship, there is still the bond and they are starting to love each other but they still get angry when another makes a bad decision or something is kept from them. These factors in the relationship gives it a more realistic feel.

The plot is so good, some of Emma's past is revealed and secrets come out but before Emma can even processes this an event happens and Emma and the Drakons have to go to Faerie. There Emma will be in even more danger and she will learn some shocking things. I love that we get to hear from not only Emma but the Drakon brothers as well, I just wish we had more chapters with the brothers pov.

Flames of Fear was really good and I enjoyed every minute of it. This book was so entertaining with its magic, secrets, romance, danger, and a couple of plot twists. If you enjoyed Flames of Truth then I suggest you get Flames of Fear. I for one cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Overall 4.5 stars

After the disaster in the last book, the Drakon brothers are keeping Emma under very close watch. Emma learns many more things about this new world that she was born into, but she never knew existed, including surprises about her lineage and more information about her Twin Flames. She also gets to meet other key players in the magical realm, and she starts to understand better her role within it. Two powerful kings, though, have their own plans for her.

How will Emma's relationship evolve with her Twin Flames? How do her father and Amy fit into it all? Who will be the master of her fate, her or someone else?

I appreciated that the author gave a little sum-up of book one from Emma's perspective at the start; there is always time between reading books in a series, so a mini recap helps. I do feel, though, that the exposition at the beginning went on a little long, not only summarizing information of the last book but summarizing some of what has happened between the end of that book and the start of this one. Of note, this book had several cliffhangers. I like how we learned more about the background of the Drakon brothers, especially James.

If you enjoyed the previous book in this series, you will appreciate reading about their continuing adventure as well as Emma and the Drakon brothers learning more about each other. While this could be enjoyed without having read the first book since she does do a good job of summarizing it, you will have a deeper appreciation of the story if you have read book 1.

Flames of Fear (The Lost Fae Book 2) Kindle Edition
by A.C. Pontone
I borrowed this book via the Kindle Unlimited program and am choosing to leave an honest and fair review.

Flames of Fear was much better than the first book of the Lost Fae. There was a story outside of the smexy time and the story was fascinating.

Emma and her Twin Flames head to Faery, to aid with the resistance and free Faery from the evils of the Dragon King and the King of Faery.

We get to meet the resistance and understand the backstory of Faery and the Dragons, including the Drakon brothers. Ms. Pontone gives us wonderful backstories that explain the brothers and their lives as well as their reluctance to complete the bond.

I enjoys the delicately left bread crumbs regarding two mysteries in the book. The villains, as always, are more than they appear. Side-characters are well created and three dimensional, with the exception of the bratty young women. They were very stereotypical mean-girls or Queen Bees.

The story is told in first person between 6 different narrators. It is good that the writer uses the convention of putting the narrator's name at the beginning of the chapter, because the writing style doesn't seem t change from narrator to narrator.

Smexy time is abundant, but never vulgar. Sometimes the euphemisms are a tad corny and seem to come from a 1960s romance novel.

The writing and the story were so great, the few drawbacks are easy to dismiss.

5 stars out of 5.

This book was epic!! It is such a good follow up for flames of truth, the story flows seamlessly from one book to the next and pulls you straight in from the first chapter. I couldn’t put it down and read in one sitting!! The character development is brilliant in this book, you can get even more of a feel for their personalities and their life story. The descriptions make visualisation of the characters exceptional, it really feels like your going through the journey with Emma and her guys right along with them. The romance, passion and devastation of the storyline really pulls you in and makes you have major feels right along with the characters. The world building and introduction of a new wonderful fantasy world is amazing. This book truly is unique showing a storyline I have never come across before which makes it even more awesome. I’d definitely recommend reading this series of books you truly won’t be disappointed. I cannot wait for the next instalment!!

What a great read Flames of Fear is! The 2nd book of the Lost Fae series.

Emma's world has changed, just a few months ago, she thought she was just an ordinary girl of 17 yrs with 2 jobs, school and a sick dad. Then 4 hot sexy men show up, the Drakon brothers. Now Emma's world is upside down and everything she's not so ordinary anymore.

The characters have a lot of depth, and continue to grow as the 2nd book progress. The relationship between Emma and the Drakon brothers is so hot! Their bonds continue to grow and becomes stronger, the storyline is absolutely fantastic! Definitely a roller coaster of a ride! You'll get plenty of action, intrigue and of course, lots of passion! A definite must read. I can't wait what the next book will bring.

If you plan to read this book, you should have read the first already, so you know the theme of the story. This time we get to know more about our flame dragons and some new characters apear that will make things even more interesting. I really, really, can't say more, not to spoil the story - It's good to read it as a surprise, and trying to figure out what will happen next.
I know you will love this story as much as I did.
Just to spark your interest to the roof: we finally get to travel to Fairy!
The book ends in a way that will leave you totally hooked - just a warning for those that don't like cliffhangers-I can't wait to see what will happen next (by now, I know it will be totally worth it to wait for the 3rd book!)

This is book 2 to The Lost Fae and I had to re read book 1 to remember where I was and I’m so glad I did because I would of been lost without book 1. It starts with an ordinary girl Emma who goes to school and has two jobs and to add to all of that stress Emma’s father is sick. Her whole life changes when she meets 4 brothers who are dragon’s and they tell her that she will be the new faery queen and that their world is in trouble and she is the only one that can help. Now this is the continuing story of Emma and her 4 sexy dragon’s, Emma learns more about her twin flames and she is being stalked but she doesn’t tell her men and when they find out they weren’t happy to say the least. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I found this second book in The Lost Fae series did not get off to quite as fast a start as the 1st. However, once it got going, I got so involved, I was shocked when I read the last paragraph and there were no more pages to turn..really disappointed too.

This is an excellent follow up to the first book in the series. Emma and the Drakon brothers make the leap to the land of the Fae and basically jump into the fire from the frying pan. One bad thing after another happens to them. One thing is for sure, Emma definitely has got to learn how to use her powers...and soon. Hopefully, somewhere in the third book, she will finally get a good grasp on them.

Definitely a great read. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Flames of Fear

Very exciting. Emma has found out that she is not from Earth but from Faery. The Drakon brothers are all her Twin Flames. Emma was going to school plus working at a strip joint at night to pay for her father's medical bills. The Mayor made her make a deal to give him some of her energy in exchange to pay his bills cause the Mayor had been getting power from her father. Serena, the Mayors daughter, tries to kill Emma cause she was jealous cause that is all her father talked about.
After the Mayor gets killed, Emma's and her father's powers start to come back. The Drakon brothers decide to take Emma back to Faery and when they get there, everything goes wrong.

DNF

I really tried with this series but when I couldn't stop rolling my eyes in exasperation I had to give up. There is a lot of rinse and repeat, I thought the point of getting an editor was to do away with all the unnecessary word spill.

The book focuses on the relationship aspect not the supernatural yet it doesn't read like they all even tolerated each other never mind dropping the L word just to make way for smut. All I can think is because this book was translated into English it lost its essence.

I will commend the author for actually writing a make believe teenager who thinks she's all grown up when the reality is a TSTL young woman.

Book two picks up a month after the end of book 1. You get to see how the relationships has been strained since Emma received the severed head and didn't tell them about the stalker at the end of book 1.
In this book you get to see her relationships develop not only with her twin flames but with her father. Emma also get to know more about herself as well.
I love that we got to get to know James and Dave more in this book. I think they are my fave 😍

The ending to this book, what a cliffhanger. Can't wait till book 3 to find out what happens.

The 2nd installment in this series was great. I like how even though they are Twin Flames that does not equal love and trust right off the bad. It shows they do have choice and that the relationship have room to grow and strengthen. Emma is becoming more confident and as a character is growing which I really enjoyed but I do wish there was a bit more growth to her, I feel she is still pretty meek and could be so much more. Also there is a real story out side of just their relationship and bedroom time which is always a plus for me.

This story was captivating and fantastic. The characters were fun to read about and interactions between characters was fascinating, trouble just seems to follow Emma around. The storyline was enjoyable and intriguing and the ending leaves you on the edge if your seat. I loved this story and I'm on tender hooks waiting for the next book.

Loved the book, the storyline was well written and the characters. Emma is frazzled once she meets the four Drakon brothers and a lot of things happen that makes Emma world crashes. There is a lot of action that you just have to keep reading to see what happened next.

Even better!

This was a great continuation from Flames of Truth. We learned more about the guys and watched Emma’s relationships evolve with them. We learned more about Fae and the Dragons. Overall I felt this book was better compared to the first as far as the details and events happening. It kept my interest and I read through it very quickly. Excited to jump into the next and final book to see the outcome!

So I agree with a lot of the reviews I've read on this.
Yes, this is a fun story.
Yes, Emma has lost the plot.
Yes, there is very little character development, everyone just is as they were originally.
Yes, at some points, there is just a white screen and the plot moves on to something else never to hint at what happened previously again. Almost like a time jump.
Yes, I will finish out the story.

Wow, what a ride! Emma and her Flames are trying their best to navigate and strengthen their relationship when her world is flipped upside down. Again. With being chased, her Father finally sharing truths and missing friends, Emma has to return to Faery. Only as she is making stronger bonds with her men, Emma is thrown into despair. Disappointed with the lack of backbone from MC

I was really excited to continue Emma’s story but unfortunately she lost all appeal to me. In fact all the characters were petty disappointing. When a woman says no, regardless of why, you should stop.

Why all of these big tough, experienced dragons should give in to Emma’s desire to stay on Earth is beyond me. DNF.

I read this book so quickly that I was almost swallowing the words. There was plenty stupid situations, surprises, dangers and unexpected things, lots and lots of unexpected things. Emma is growing in her powers. Her Twin Flames growing to know her. The book finish on such huge cliffhanger that I wanted scream from frustration. Now I need to sit put and wait next part is written.

I need more!!

This book was so good. My only wish was that it was longer, because I was lost when it was over. I loved how connected I felt with every character and how each relationship is different. I really want to know who her stalker is, because it is definitely not the person I thought it was.

New torture

Loves this series. I cant wait for the next book as this was left on a cliffhanger!!
After finding out who red is, a new story starts. Having to go to a world where she was born does not know to save her people who she doesn't know is going to be hard. But lucky for her, she has her 4 dragons with her.... or does she

Even better than the first.

I picked this book up right after reading the first in the series. I have to say it's even better than the first. I just wish they were longer. But that's just personal preference.
It looks like our MC is finding her footing in this second installment. Growing into who she really is.
I cannot wait until the next book is released.
