This is a great book to introduce the life cycle of butterflies to children. Instead of starting with the scientific information, start with this book. This book breaks down the information into simpler terms and provides pictures that children will understand. The adventure these two children take in the book exploring caterpillars, such as how they live, what they eat, and had how they transform into butterflies. Maybe you could do a project with your students, where you would get a caterpillar and have the class watch it grow until it can be released as a butterfly. This will help them get a better understanding of what is being taught because of the hands on approach.

With amazing illustrations and detailed descriptions, the author delivers numerous amounts of information on the butterflies' humble begging as an egg to its transformation into a colorful butterfly! This book does an amazing job of creating an emphasis on yh role that butterflies play in our ecosystem, as well as the importance of pollination and their place in the food chain. This book is book entertaining and educational!
