Another best friend's sibling story from this writing duo. Again, this trope can be tricky safety wise, because sometimes they see the hero/heroine with others.

HERO~ Asa was great. Older brother to the heroine in book 1. I truly liked him. He was protective over his sister and Callie. He was loyal and brave, always looking after his family.

HEROINE~ Callie was much better in this book. I was not wild about her in book 1 if I am being honest. However, this story shows us a different side of her. She was caring and giving and looked after people.

SEXUAL HISTORY~ Callie and Asa are both virgins

OM/OW DRAMA ~ I was disappointed that there was a guy that Callie was crying over because she saw him with another girl. She wanted him to be her first kiss, and eventually take her virginity. I didn't like that she was crushing on Asa, yet was crying over another guy. Yes Asa was older (only 3 years) but he had feelings for her that he was containing and I wanted them to want each other only, even if they couldn't act on them yet. If the scenerio was switched, there would be a mutiny.

SEPARATION There was a 3 YEAR separation in which they had zero contact whatsoever, just like book 1. I was surprised because they were so close, yet zero contact. Baffling

STEAM Some steam but not until after the 72% mark

VIOLENCE No violence at all

SAFETY -safe as they aren't with others after meeting but her crying over the other guy was just a huge turn off. That would make it more like safe with exception. I only want my heroine wanting the hero in my stories.

ENDING~ good epilogues, several years in the future. Wanted to know what the last child was and what his/her name was.

I was hoping that we were going to get Callie and Asa’s story after a perfect mess and I really enjoyed this quick story.

Asa has always been protective of Callie as his little sisters best friend he treated her as one of the family that is until he saw her dressed for a dance and sees the woman that she is becoming. Although she is only fifteen and he is eighteen they share a kiss, Callie’s first and even though they are attracted to one another know that the time isn’t right for them. Asa leaves to join the Marines but before he leaves Callie lets him know that she will wait for him. Its years later and he returns home not the same man that he left, but the love he felt for Callie has always lived on. Can they now be together or will she have moved on and made a life with someone else?

Callie fantasised about Asa just like any other woman he was gorgeous never did she expect him to be her first kiss, it was that night that he stole her heart. After her best friend leaves to study in Italy and Asa leaves for the Marines she is determined to follow her dreams of becoming a nurse and graduates early. And when Asa returns to her physically and mentally injured she is there to get him through the hard times. They fall in love all over again.

This was a super safe read with all the feels and there is actually a lot that happens for such a short book. This duo write fabulous books with super sweet characters, steamy scenes and perfect epilogues.

Best friend's sibling plots are tricky, that being said, it's one of my favorite tropes...when done right. This book by this duo is pretty darn close and I enjoyed it.

Asa and Callie have known each other for years, her being his younger sister, Crosby's, best friend and all. Asa and his best friend, Weston (see A Perfect Mess for his and Crosby's story), and the two girls have grown up together, and both boys are fully aware of how independent Callie and Crosby are. While Weston is protective of the latter due to his own growing feelings for her, Asa takes his role in watching over them quite seriously, and as Callie matures, his view of her does too.

However, it's not until she's in her teens that he realizes just how much. From there, Callie herself begins to see Asa as more than her best friend's older brother and the protective eyes always watching over them. The kiss the two share changes everything, but it also brings about guilt in Asa due to her age and their mutual connection to Crosby.

Asa makes the decision to enlist and spends a few years elsewhere, with no contact between him and Callie. His feelings for her don't change, but instead grow, and then he's injured. When he returns, a newer mature Callie is his therapist and he, yet again, sees her in a different light.
Their bond grows deeper as she helps him recuperate, but he wants more...he wants everything.

What will Crosby think? How can Asa expect her to accept their relationship when he behaved badly upon learning of her and his best friend? What will Asa do now that he's been medically discharged? What does their future hold? Will it be a HEA?

One-click now and follow along as two people embark on a different path...together. I love that both were virgins, each only wanting to be and waiting for the other. Yet, I can't help but question Asa's memory of his past as he did suffer a traumatic brain injury in the service, so... what if he just forgot he was with another woman? I doubt that's the case, but it does beg the question. I enjoyed this story, however, there were two issues I had with this. First, and this bothered me the most, Asa's feelings had already begun changing for Callie, and the night they shared their first kiss, she was crying over another boy, one she wanted to be her first kiss, her first everything, or if not him, someone else. She never thought about it being Asa. I do not like that she wanted those things with anyone else, that Asa found her crying over it not happening. There are those that would want to throw their e-reader had it been the reverse. Second, they were close, yet there was absolutely no contact for three, I think it was, years? Third, Asa and Crosby's dad is sick, and it's alluded to that being terminally so, yet we never learn of his fate. He's mentioned in the first epilogue, as in Weston and Crosby's wedding being moved up because they weren't sure the dad would make it. And then...nothing. There's a reference to the mom in another epilogue, but not about her losing her husband, how she's coping without him, or if he made a miraculous recovery - hey, you never know, it is fiction after all.

A second chance/BFF’s Brother love story (safe)

Second chances and stories where the main characters have known each other since childhood can be *really* tricky from a “safe read” standpoint. I really enjoyed that this story stayed safe, despite the passage of several years where there was no contact between Asa and Callie. I also like the way his TBI impacted his personality and left holes that he had to learn to manage. The romance and sensuality in this story was on point, and their epilogues were fantastic.

I devoured the book and enjoyed every word. This is a very quick read and I wish there was more although the two epilogues helped. The characters are from, A Perfect Mess. Callie and Asa/Ace. Callie and Crosby, was Asa's sister, were best friends and Callie was over at our house all the time. Asa's mom told him to watch out for the girls. That was his job growing up.
Things changed when Asa had to drive the girls to there ninth grade dance. Callie was fourteen and Asa was eighteen years old.
Asa was coming out of the bathroom when he saw Callie, looking upset, and asked her what was wrong. She tells him she had it all planned out. Tonight was supposed to be my first kiss.
But at the right/wrong moment, he heard a whispered request from Callie, Asa, Kiss me...

4.5 stars. I had been “patiently” waiting for this book *shakes head*. This book was worth the wait. It takes you through Asa and Callie when they were kids and Asa taking care of her and his little sister. Then when she’s a freshman and he’s a senior, they share her first kiss, all of which was nice and pg, a very sweet kiss. These two never get over their attraction and they never move on from it either. Callie later promises Asa her virginity, which she does save for him. Asa goes to college, but later enlist in the Marines. During that time, he and Callie do not keep in touch, this was the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars.

Fast forward and he’s back from the military and injured, physically and mentally. Callie helps him through and nurses him back to health. So much happens in this book, with all the emotions. This writing duo did such a great job on my Asa’s book. It was a safe read, no om or ow drama. Two virgins...yup, you read that right...two. Baby batter, multiple epilogues and an hea.

A sweet and captivating love story from friends to lovers. Callie and Asa have known each other since her and Crosby, Asa’s younger sister, became best friends in grade school. Then she was just his little sister’s annoying friend that followed him and his best friend everywhere they went, that he started looking at her differently when she was in high school. But he didn’t act on it because he was their babysitter, carpool driver, overall protector and she was Crosby‘s best friend there for off-limits. After graduating high school he joined the Marines and left Callie behind that she didn’t sit idly behind she was driven to be a nurse and help other people. When Asa comes home it isn’t have we wanted to come back he’s not whole, will Callie still want to be with him even though he is a shell of a man? Can Callie convince him that he is everything she has always wanted?

It was okay for a fast read. Wish we had a bit more expansion of the the characters reunion and reconnection. Also had weird scene transitions that made it hard to track the storyline at times.

Disappointing. I enjoyed the first half of the book where we read Asa and Callie’s backstory, as it did a wonderful job connecting me to the characters, as well as getting me invested in their lives. I thought their relationship in the second half was going to be emotional—focused on them healing from the physical and mental wounds, as a couple. Nope. Their relationship basically consisted of their carnal attraction to each other. It was a letdown.

Loved Asa and Callie!!!

Asa and Callie are the next couple that appeared in A Perfect Mess. I wasn’t sure if I especially liked Callie in that book but we got to see how she grew from a somewhat neglected child to a wonderful, caring adult. Asa and Callie are perfect together. Honestly, could have done without the death of her brother. He wasn’t really fleshed out which I guess was a good thing since the authors “offed”.

I don't know

I can't say it wasn't a good book but it's pretty bland. The epilogues basically outlined how things are in the next book. I'm not sure if I will continue on.

Not to spoil but some may be offended by the attraction of an 18 year old to his younger sister best friend but he doesn't act on it. He is descriptive with his thoughts but that's for the reader and remember he's 18 so it's not abnormal. He treats her respectful and even feels the guilty of the kiss and his reaction.

Asa is Crosby older brother and Crosby is Callie's partner in crime. Asa has this protective older brother thing going and suddenly he sees Callie in a new light once she goes to her first dance where she tells Asa her plans with a guy that isn't worth it. She asks for her first kiss (which was very innocent) and she tells him she has future plans with him (not spoiling anything).

Fast forward and Callie and Asa meet again but unfortunately it's because he came home from the military with a brain injury. With the bad news does come some good, they let that dormant volcano of attraction release.

The two of them were destined together. There are also 3 epilogues that follow these two over time and wrap up the story well.

I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

This book is short sweet and sizzling love the relationship between asa and callie. We first meet them in the previous book but it is not necessary to have read it but it does enhance the experience. Asa and callie have grown up together as callie is asa’s younger sisters best friend. It was purely platonic until asa hit 18 and callie 14 and things started to change for both of them. As the song said it started with a kiss - one held in secret by both for years. Asa goes to war and callie becomes a nurse and neither has contact for three years. However when asa comes back from war needing a nurse callie is there right away. The tension between these two could be cut with a knife from the reunion. It builds until it combusts and boy does it sizzle between these two. They both finally get what they want- each other and once again it officially starts where it did previously with a kiss. They have to break it to asa’s sister which could cause trouble. considering asa’s reaction to her new beau( previous book ) is his best friend. Eventually they get there HEA and the epilogues omg they made me happy to learn where there future led them. You wont regret one clicking on this book.

Asa has always admired Callie, she is a spitfire and so beautiful it hurt to look at her. But he was older and she was his sister's best friend. When he goes off to boot camp, he is determined to get home to her. Callie is determined to fight her loneliness with diving into her career, to help as many people as she can. Asa does manage to come home, but not in the way he wanted. Trying to recover, Callie is there from day one. His attraction to her is what keeps him going, but does she feel the same now that he is different?

Oh my gosh, I didn't think I could love a couple more than Asa's little sister Crosby and his best friend Weston from A Perfect Mess but I was wrong! Callie and Asa have taken the top spot. They are simply magic together. The kids that they were and the people they grew up into deserve happiness and it was a joy to experience it. Aria Cole and Mila Crawford are an amazing team as well as great authors on their own. I immediately buy anything that has these ladies names on it, I cannot bear to miss a single story. All the stars for A Perfect Wreck!

>Book Review – A Perfect Wreck
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is a Sister’s Best Friend Romance and ends in an HEA. Asa is the older brother to Crosby. Asa has some feelings of guilt for having feelings for his sister’s BFF, Callie. Asa acts as a protector for the girls as they go through their teens. I thought the story was so sweet with how they portrayed Asa. He was always annoyed with his sis and her BFF, but would cart them around anytime if his mama asked. When Asa goes off to the Marines, his goodbye with Callie really show how they both have an attraction to each other. Only her young age keeps them apart.
>I thought the plot twist of having Asa injured in war and Callie nursing him was a good idea, but his injury was sort of glossed over. I did like how Asa and Callie go after their relationship 110% now that she is of age. The epilogues are fun, but jump in time too much. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 4 stars. The book doesn’t have any true conflict to shake up the characters, but the love story is sweet.

Although the story and characters are tied to a previous book (A Perfect Mess) and some of what happens to Asa is described there, this can work as a stand alone. It will just feel more complete if you read the other book first.

Callie is the best friend to Asa's little sister, and it was sweet to watch Asa's attitude change from responsible older brother to conflicted teen (when his feelings evolved, but he knew Callie was too young) to present day where Asa is injured and back from the military; and Callie is assigned to help him rehab.

I would have loved to see this as a longer length novel so that his rehab could be explored a little more. I feel that his struggle with it, and how they work through that as a couple, would have really added depth to the relationship from a reader's point of view.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and the sweet moments made me smile like a sap. I was provided a complimentary copy in exchange for an unbiased review.
