Jamie has always loved a good story, whether real or imagined. He grew up in the south of England before moving to the north, where he worked as a history teacher. He still lives there with his wonderful family, but now spends his time writing, mainly about people hitting each other with swords.

Action and Adventure!

Small backstory:

Belwynn along with her brother, Soren are back in this third book to hunt down the elusive weapon the Jalakh Bow. Their companions that started out with them on the first quest are here, there, and everywhere in this book as some of them had got separated when the war had first started.

The war rages on within the lands of Dalriya and there is tons of political intrigue, bloody battles, back stabbing betrayals as the companions try to figure out how to survive within the war. Everyone has their own agenda as they try to accomplish the quest of seeking out all the magical weapons!

That is about all I can give on a small backstory without giving away spoilers so if you want to know more then go read this series!

Thoughts:

There is so much that happens within this book as so many things are going on at once within different parts of the country. The companions all go through their own struggles with the war and trying to retrieve the weapons.

Lots of moving parts in this book! Still loving all the characters as the author just makes them connected to the reader. I feel like I am magically plopped down within the storyline and feeling what the characters are all feeling as they make their way through the storyline.

Looking forward to reading the last book in this series to see how the author wraps everything up and hoping that some of my favorite characters make it to the end of this series! :) Giving this book five "Thrilling Quest" stars!

This is a very intricate saga so I am very glad to see the Dramatis Personae at the start of every book, I find this very helpful especially since I am reading each book as they are published not as a whole set and the names tend to otherwise get confusing. Moneva had become the enigmatic killer of Erkindrix, Belwynn had become the angelic saviour of the knights of Kalinth and Elena, high priestess of the church of Madria, the Goddess. Soren was still suffering pains in his back inflicted on him during torture and imprisonment in samir Durg and he was now depending on his use of Onella's staff to see and to walk . Toric's dagger in the meantime was given to Moneva to guard and to use. So in this 3rd novel four weapons are found and three still need to be claimed. The Isharites are on the move on all fronts, led by Siavash who had replaced Erkindrix and is fighting the war for Diis. This book sees many losses of good people at the hands of evil and it now looks like so much is resting on Belwynn's shoulders. Can she see this war through to its end? Will Madria really guide her? Her brother Soren is very sceptic about this. A book full of betrayals some of which were really unexpected and very disappointing yet it is also a story full of heroism as well and I for one am still hoping to see good win over evil in the fourth and final book of this amazing epic saga which keeps the reader anxious and involved throughout the story!

Just fantastic, I absolutely love Jamie Edmundson's writing, he can weave a brilliant tale full of humour and all so bring out his darkside in his books, the worldbuilding in this series is amazing, you can't help but cheer for the characters that they make it through the missions and trials that the author puts them through, The Weapons Takers has it all for us fantasy fans, big battles, betrayal, excellent plots, politics and very interesting characters, instead of using the usual tropes in fantasy, Jamie brings his own take on magic and fantastical creatures, in book three of The Jalakh Bow our heroes worlds become ever more complicated and treacherous, Belwynn's stature grows as significant events unfold around her, she must face a mysterious evil disguised as a friend, Soren must seek out the bow of the Jalakh tribes an in Kalinth, and in the high mountains of his Krykker homeland, Rabigar must learn a bitter lesson, when their enemies return, our protagonist will find that they have become more unpredictable and more terrifying than they ever thought possible, with battle looming it will reunite our heroes and their companions in some very unexpected ways, damn three books down one to go, the narrator's get better with each book, if you love fast action packed fantasy, then look no further, highly recommended...⚔🗡🏹😁

Needs editing but a good story otherwise

Loved the general story but like Robert Jordan, the author has a tendency to throw so many plot details in a chapter that it takes forever to read. I am a voracious reader and it took me 4 hours to read 82 pages. Also noted the poor use of commas in the story, causing emphasis to hit the wrong parts of the plot. This is an author to watch going forward.

Wow, the epic adventure continues in this book of the series. The core group of heroes is separated and are continuing the search for the magical weapons. Unfortunately, the enemy is also looking for those weapons, and they will try to take those weapons from the searchers who have already claimed them.

I thought this was a fantastic book, it has magic, battling armies, and unexpected betrayals. Unique, and compelling characters fighting against and evil god, and sometimes their own people.

I am voluntarily leaving and honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.

My my!!!!!

The story continues, and amazing enough, the level of writing doesn't degrade any. Usually the author's writing link's out a little for the next book or two, but not this guy, it stays right up there. You really need to get the rest of this series, you deserve it.

This series just keeps getting better. Wonderful imaginative storytelling with fantastic characters. Be sure to start with book one, Toric's Dagger. I received a free review copy of the audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.

My biggest issue with this series is that I really don’t care about the war. I feels like I should and how important the weapons are but I don’t feel anything. This book was definitely slower then the others before. Though I still like the creatures of the lands. They are all very fun and creative. The Rock people (I know that’s not their name but I forgot how to spell it 😅) are my favorite. They were the best in the last book and sadly they were a push over this time around. But it’s not a lack of trying. I still yet don’t understand the magic system. It seems that magic can do whatever as far as I can tell. I like the climax of the story. It was very entertaining and engaging. But there are a few times where there is a build up to a fight they as quickly as it starts it just ends. Just like there are a group of enemy over yonder. They get ready to fight then they win. I hope the final book is the best. A reason to care for a the war and full fight scenes no matter how small.

Absolutely left me on the edge of my seat from the start of the book till the end. the intricate world building is fascinating and organized while still leaving spirited twists to be discovered along the characters journey. Absolutely love it. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.
