It is difficult for me to read any novel taking place in a Biblical setting. I’ve read the Bible through enough to have lost count of the number of times. I tend to pick it apart for accuracy. This book is mostly true to scripture and outside sources on the life of Mark. It will enhance understanding and make the book of Acts come alive to the reader.

I enjoyed the book. My favorite part was at the end when Mark discovered what REST truly meant for him. His reunion to Philea brought tears to my eyes. I also learnt abit of the Coptic Church history.

So interesting and touching to learn how Mark became a devoted apostle. So naturally written and convincing. I fell in love with Mark as a character. A great read!!

This was a fictional retelling of the life of Mark, the author of the gospel of Mark. There are a lot of interesting details and the chapters are short, but I think there are a couple of (at least one) misinterpretations of the Bible. However, for a look at the times and places in which Mark lived, you may want to check it out...it's quite an interesting read.

Like Noah also listed here, this copy is actually a reprint of a novel dating back to the late 80's.
