I randomly picked up I Am My Brand at Barnes & Noble, thinking it would help me become a better Instagram influencer. Springer's book is not about being an influencer, it's a legit brand marketing that was more in-depth than I was expecting. Although I don't think I'm quite at a high enough level to really benefit from her advice, I did find the mindset and purpose chapters insightful and will be referring back to her book as my business grows.
I really loved reading I AM My BRAND. It is a really insightful book on what it means to build a personal brand. Practical,no fluff and packed with a lot of tools that ANYONE can use in building a strong and effective personal brand. I loved the fact that the author approached branding not just from a business/entrepreneurial perspective. The book outlined ideas anyone can apply to connecting with a diverse audience at work or in life. It was a book that did not just roll out a plethora of cliches but gave really helpful ideas and tools to actually begin the process. There was an activity at the end of every chapter and by the time you got the end of the book you would have had a roughy draft of how to go about creating a personal brand.
This was recommended to me, it is a practical guide on how to build your own brand. Whilst I think it would be better suited to a person starting their own business, there are many transferable tips, practical exercises that make this a useful and thought provoking read.
I've read several books on brand development and marketing and found this one to be one of the best. It provides a great deal of information and thought provoking material to drill down to what my brand is and how to cultivate it. Throughout, there are exercises, suggested readings, and interviews with other branding specialist (Alex Agboke, p. 143!).
A solid read for anyone looking at personaling brand - how to create it, how to live it - and how to market yourself and/or product.

I randomly picked I AM MY BRAND by Kubi because I knew in one of the other it would have nuggets of how I can be an instagram influencer 🫣
That’s not what it is about sadly🥹
It is mostly for entrepreneurs, marketers/business people. She is giving out practical help of how you can build your brand from scratch, from how to come up with a logo, a brand color pointing out the meaning of different colors, mission and vision for a business. (So loud on consistency from the very first pillar)
Her book is so big on brand marketing and my major take away is that your business should focus on the emotive aspects- what type of emotions would you want your tribe/ customers to feel/experience when they interact with your business/brand.
She breaks down the 8 pillars to brand success and talks about them very concisely.
What scared me a little bit is that you should know so much about your tribe at individual level, from their day to day activities, what they love, when they are purchasing, their purchases etc. (This, is not easy and safe to say that also running a business is not)
It is a good book I enjoyed it, especially the fact she was providing templates that you can use as a guide. Already gotten a few tips on how to measure ROI, marketing budgeting etc.
“You have been uniquely designed to help solve a unique problem in this world. You haven’t been created just for you, you have been created for others to enjoy what you bring.
This book was hands-down FANTASTIC! I saw the title in a bookstore and instantly bought it. I've been reading several business books lately, but I needed a book on branding--specifically how to build a brand around a PERSON instead of a company. (Kubi Springer focusing especially on women was an appreciated bonus!)
Gotta confess, with most books that come with homework and worksheets, I just ignore them and absorb the gist of the ideas. But in this case, I cannot ignore Kubi's homework. I'm copying down all her questions and tables onto my own Google doc so that I can continue to refine my brand.
I also really appreciate how this book isn't just for business owners: it applies just as much to an employee wanting to rise through the ranks and carve out her own niche in her field, even if she never becomes the boss. While I'm mostly using this book for my own business, since I work a part-time job as a regular employee, I am also drinking in her insights for how to set goals and work toward them in the traditional corporate world. I feel newly empowered to make my mark in this company and improve my standing, when I felt like giving up before. Thank you, Kubi!
Am My Brand is a power-packed read, no doubt. Kubi Springer brings high energy and tons of motivation, especially for women looking to build personal brands in the business world. But here’s the thing: it speaks very specifically to entrepreneurs, business owners, and those already deep in the branding hustle.
As someone outside that exact space, a lot of it felt like niche content — filled with case studies, corporate jargon, and business-heavy strategies. So yeah, I found myself skipping quite a few sections that didn’t vibe with me or apply to my current path.
That said, credit where it’s due: the book’s got clear structure, confidence, and ambition. If you’re running your own brand or building a biz from the ground up, you’ll definitely take away frameworks, mindset tips, and maybe even a personal push to show up louder online.
But for the average reader or someone still figuring themselves out (read: not yet an entrepreneur), it feels more like a business coaching session than a personal growth book. Less “relatable life motivation,” more “CEO-level strategy.”
I picked this book mostly out of interest, what is the work behind branding - especially personal brand as I wasn't interested at all in full on business branding or anything like it.
And I really appreciated that book stated to the title and focused a lot on that. Mix of questions, stories and exercises is really balanced and it was interesting to peal each layer and link it all together.
Book went into a lot of details on branding for people who are looking exactly for that, but I liked it for a glance into it and "howto" for personal branding.
Great book! I was fortunate to meet Kubi at The Black Business Show back in 2019. Kubi brilliant when it comes to branding and this books shows it. From this book, you will learn how to make your brand from scratch elevate to new heights. Not only that this book is more than just branding, marketing and business. It also touches on mindset, confidence and more. Kubi's personality shines throughout I have the physical version and also the audiobook I recommend either.
I like that the book has a now you do it section. I am glad that at the end the author let us in on one of her failures. It made her human and made the book more relatable. I am going to be completing the exercises next and start the journey of self discovery.
For anyone interested in brand development and marketing, I would recommend this book. I am a freelance marketer and still learnt a lot. The book was very easy to read, and the concepts are easy to understand but also powerful.
It was alright. A bit long-winded for what it had to say. Most of this stuff you can just get off a few good sped-up YouTube videos in time than it takes to read this book. Feel like most branding books will give similar advice.
After reading one the last marketing books, this looked at it from a different angle and it just made more sense. I like how feelings were tied into you and your branding. Great book - and the prompts in it to write things down made me think harder about my business.
What a beautiful practical read! You need your own personal copy.Glad to have come across this book as I am trying to venture into business .I really enjoyed all the small exercises after every chapter.
Absolutely amazing! Kubi is very insightful and provides so much valuable information on how to build your brand. This is by far the most useful best book out there! I will definitely go back to this for guidance while building MY brand :)
