Christina and Trog . . .

Christina had a successful YouTube crafting channel where she made all kinds of projects out of other people’s throw-aways. She was so wrapped up in her projects that she didn’t take the time to go shopping for food and toilet paper – the necessities of life! So she showered and went to the craft store for supplies and the grocery store for food. On the way home, she passed a strip mall and saw something large sticking out of a dumpster. Intrigued, she parked and went over to investigate. Climbing on the edge of the dumpster, she saw what looked to be an antique spinning wheel, something she had always wanted! With a final giant tug to pull it loose, she began to fall into the dumpster – and continued falling, inexplicably disoriented and dizzy. She and the antique spinning wheel were sitting in the middle of a forest!

Christina didn’t recognize any of the plants, and the colors were all wrong. A creature was crouched next to her and hissed. She assumed she was unconscious and dreaming or hallucinating – until its tail smacked her and a horrible acidic burn sliced through her thigh. She let out a scream! As more of the creatures closed in on her, she heard a loud yell and a man with blue skin and yellow eyes dropped down in front of her! The poison in her leg gave her another blast of pain and she fell to the ground unconscious.

Christina woke up alone in a high tree-house. Trying to climb down, she fell and landed on rocks which crawled away from her after a show of teeth! As she walks, she steps into something like quicksand and is finally able to struggle out using a vine. But the goo is irritating her skin, so she heads to the purple lake where she encounters something like an octopus! By then, she screams as it drags her under the water, and Trog, her blue alien, comes to her rescue. (Some days it is better to stay in bed!) Grateful for his saving her once again, she throws herself all over him and he later takes her back to the tree-house.

When Christina joined Trog on his hunting trip, she saw an actual building and headed toward it. He was horrified that she moved to the Ancestor’s Hut which had dangerous magic! Time and again he tried to stop her, but she was adamant this time. She saw a glass pane and wiped at the dust – and a hologram dragon lady appeared! The hologram asked if she would like to be able to talk to her alien and something like a severe migraine caused her to become unconscious. Trog panicked and ran back to the treehouse, waiting for her to wake and afraid she might not. When she did awake, they could now understand each other. But somehow having language communication had its own complications. Christina wanted to get back to her version of Earth, she wanted to return to the Hut, she was going to leave him! With a broken heart, he went out into the dangerous darkness, having no idea how he could live without her.

This was an odd sort of story at first until the reader experiences their growing relationship. Christina knew early on that she could trust Trog completely, that he always seemed to put her first and protected her always. Without technology, she could use her creative skills to make things which would make their life easier. Once they could communicate, misunderstandings led to more trouble. Could they realize what they meant to each other by now? Could Christina accept that this was her new world and her adoring alien was fully hers? This story line will grow on you as you get to know the characters more deeply. Christina will continue to make the reader want to smack her now and then, but Trog is so good for her. If she can accept her new life and reassure him of her love, they might just find that HEA. Grab your copy and experience this unusual but satisfying story.

This story grabbed my attention within the first few chapters & had me hooked. I loved how Christina lives her life her way. She's so caught up in her crafts that she forgets every day life such as laundry & groceries. While she's out getting new craft supplies & groceries she spots a dumpster with something sticking out of it. As she's pulling it out, she realizes it's a spinning wheel & then she's tumbling in to an alternate earth dimension. In comes Trog who rescues her from being killed. He is a sexy blue alien & they can't understand a word each other says. She discovers the but if the ancients & ends up getting an "upload" to understand him. What happened next is a whirlwind where they become parents to be. I won't give away any more, but the story has intrigue, peril, love, desperation, & a HEA. I don't read much in the way of alien stories but that doesn't have anything to do with my rating. I rated it down because even tho it was an attention grabber at the beginning because I felt that it started getting a bit too much woe is me. The story deserves more than 3 stars but I did start to lose interest at a little more than half way through, which is part of why I rated down.

I am torn on this book. I love the concept, like the world and hero, but the heroine annoys me. It's not often that I can't find something to like about the female main character. However, Christina's lack of common sense was just too much for me. That being said, the story is good and I would read more books by this author.

Trog and Christina. Shes a very crafty you tuber. So much so she forgets what day it is. While going to the store on a rare occasion, which was her birthday by the way, and on her way home she went slow because garbage pu was the next day and she was hunting treasurers. While passing a mall in their dumpster she saw something sticking out and it was a spinning wheel. She has wanted one since she was 10. As she grabbed it she feerl backwards and she braced herself for the hard concrete which never came. All she saw was a jungle, no car, no mall, no asphalt just jungle. Then there was a dinasaur looking creature hissing at me with jagged teeth. Then there were five and this is only a dream its not real Im not going to be eaten. Then a tale struck her and she screamed a 20 on a scale of 10. As the beast closed rank she heard a loud noise and then a blue man dropped from a tree. She not only was oozing something grose from her leg she was feverish and attracted to an alien. He was out checking his traps when he heard the scream. When he landed on the jungle floor she wasd beautiful and his. After the slaughter of the beasts he carries an unconcious Christina back to his home to tend to her wound before it killed her. She was a strange and wonderous creature. They have trouble communicating and things keep wanting to kill her and they have a wirlwind attraction and she ponders does she want what she had or what she has. Really Really liked their story.

Christina was a 30 year old woman living her life as a workaholic YouTuber with a passion for DIYs. A typical shut in who only goes out for food and supplies finds herself with no food and many sticky notes labeled “Don’t forget to buy more…” Only this trip for supplies and sustenance wouldn’t end the way Christina could have ever suspected. After dumpster diving for the most elusive find she’d ever wanted Christina fell from the dumpster quite forcefully with a hard tug on a spinning wheel. Instead of dying or waking up bleeding on the hard concrete below Christina finds herself thrust into a beautifully colored alien world. Where she finds love in the simpler things and realizes that there’s more to life than the digital world she spent so much time in. Forced to face her new reality she finds love with her alien rescuer Trog, peace and happiness. There’s no clocks ticking here! This book was truly a fun read bordering on isekai themes of being transported to another world. Fans of Sci-fi romance will devour this book. A solid 4 star read, with beautiful imagery and world building. I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series. HEA. The series sounds intriguing being that there is multiple dimensions of earth. My assumption is that we won’t get to see many of those. I doubt it makes for much of a book if the main characters died within 10 pages.
These sci fi romance books where a modern day fmc gets thrown into a primitive world makes me feel a cozy, slice of life vibe. I’d like to see what other worlds ours may become in another dimension. You got me hooked!!

Christina and Trog’s relationship was too insta-love once she was kidnapped by Zaurast. Why didn’t she feel like she was kidnapped when Trog took her as his mate? I personally enjoy a little more friction before we get to the mating. The author has in her bio that the spice is pg-13 since she has 5 kids and tried to write in a way just in case they accidentally read her work.

In Trog’s pov, he said people’s names phonetically even his own brother’s. It didn’t make much sense to me but maybe that’s just how he talks?

Pretty sure at one point Christina broke a fourth wall. She addressed the reader by saying “you”

With all the comments made, I thought the book was adorable and I’m excited to read the next one.

My Savage Alien Rescuer is a standalone sci-fi romance and book one of the Parallel Dimensions series by Joquena Lomelino. I've read book two already, so can easily say that these book, while part of the same series, are completely unrelated. The premise is that while women are pulled into a parallel dimension of Earth which are totally unrecognisable, that returning to one's original dimension or aiming for one in particular is not possible.

In this book, curvy, redheaded YouTuber Christina is working hard to build her audience so that she may make a living off the platform fulltime. That is until she is suddenly sucked through a worm hole into another dimension. It is there that the first being she meets is "alien" , Trog, who is basically a blue cat man (think like Avatar movies).

This is not only an adventure but a grand adventure, that includes Christina coming to terms with what has happened to her, figuring out how to overcome communication and language limitations. There is danger and exploration and even fated mates. Lots of fun and thoroughly enjoyable.

This is my 1st read and review for this author it’s a great read and I enjoyed it immensely. Christina loves making her crafts she has a popular You Tube channel where she shows people how to make the crafts it’s her life and she loves it but she often forgets to do the shopping so she gets ready to leave. Christina usually goes dumpster diving she uses other people’s throw aways for her crafts, she saw a big dumpster and there was something sticking out of it so when Christina starts pulling at it she starts to fall in the dumpster but she falls through a portal to another planet. She lands in a Forrest and there is this weird creature sitting there hissing at her it’s tail hits her and it burned her and Christina screams, she is surrounded by these things but then a blue man comes in and saves her and then she blacks out. Christina wake’s up in a tree house and she gets into more dangerous situations and Trog is there to save her again and again. Fantastic original story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Christina (h30), a dedicated YouTube crafting star, finds her life taking a wild turn when she falls off a dumpster and lands in a different dimension. In this alien jungle, she meets Trog (H), a blue alien who saves her from deadly creatures and claims her as his life-mate. Although Christina can't understand a word he's saying, she begins to adapt to this strange new world, learning to navigate its dangers and utilizing her crafting skills for survival. Their relationship grows as they face various challenges together, from hostile creatures to environmental threats. Christina's struggle to communicate with Trog is eventually resolved when an encounter with a mysterious hologram gives her the ability to understand him. As they share their personal histories and cultural differences, their bond deepens. Christina starts to question if she wants to return to her old life, realizing that her love for Trog and the happiness she finds in this new world might be worth the sacrifices. Alien-human romance exploring love, adaptation, survival, and resilience. Low spice. Lengthier read.

What do you say to managing trees and things that look cheap they can actually kill you? Very scary. The story was very creative and as the character stated a fake Oz. Left and right no matter where you turn somethings were very poisonous and deadly versus somethings were OK and safe. Christina was a very good character that was created to share the insecurities of a curvy woman and yet finding a mate who loved her.
This was a semi action-packed story mainly because her environment made it so. Her alien rescuer how to make it easy for her to cope. There was a lot of twists and craziness that happened between the two of them in order for this story to make it happen and be interesting. There were a funny spots in the story. I enjoyed the book. Who knew dumpster diving can send you to a whole new dimension?

A new reality and a new life for Christina.
by sewsummore

Christina was swept into another dimension on Earth, one very different from her own. If not for the appearance of a humanoid creature named Trog she would have died on the first day in her new reality. Trog claimed her as his mate but it took time before Christina came to accept that Earth as she knew it, was gone forever and that Trog was not only her savior but also a mate she had learned to love. I really enjoyed this book, the descriptions of her new reality were very well done I had no difficulty in seeing Christina's new world in my mind. The story line had plenty of drama, sadness and hope as the pair of unlikely lovers formed a family with the arrival of their daughter.

Wow, is all what I can really say. Christina is youtube hit when it comes to making things out of trash. One mans trash is another's treasure. When looking for some items in a garbage container Christina found something that she's always been looking for. Next thing she knew she was falling though a portal to Earth like place. Trog is a local alien in this strange Earth like place. There are many dangers that he had to save Christina from. In the end they ended up mates. There are many challenges and miscommunication between the two. If you would like to know the whole story on what happened between Christina and Trog please feel free to read this great Sci-fi romance.

To begin with, I thought this would be a quick read but I was wrong. This actually a pretty long book but I enjoyed the attention to the world building within. When Christina and Trog met they could not understand each others language so that part of the books was a bit rough. They tried and then failed quite a bit but were finally able to start to communicate. This was not an insta love story which was nice for a change.

Christina is able to use her strengths, crafting and creating, to help Trog build something for them to share. Trog is able to do the things he does, hunting and gathering, to keep Christina taken care of. The things each of them excelled at paired well and they both become better for it.

'Couldn’t I even have normal fantasies? Seriously, what was wrong with me?'

I really enjoyed this book. It was such a fun read. Great world building and wonderful characters. I really liked both Christina and Trog. She tried to get an antique spinning wheel out of a dumpster and was somehow isekai-ed into an alien world. Which she is very obviously in no way equipped to survive in! I loved that she was a 'craft nerd.' Trog rescued her from a pack of predators... and then a tentacle monster. He believes she is his mate. I liked the language barrier trope here. I couldn't wait to see what would happen. This was the first book I've read by this author and I would definitely read more. 4 stars.

Communication is Key

Christina is a crafter and has a You Tube channel with videos and an Etsy store. She creates with stuff she finds outside, thrift stores and dumpster diving. When she sees a spinning wheel in a dumpster she inadvertently falls into another dimension. Only she refuses to believe it even when the local wild life attack her. She is rescued by Trog, a big blue alien that is seriously ripped! Trog recognizes her as his mate but there is a little problem of language, neither understands the other. And communication issues seem to trouble the pair throughout the entire book. I enjoyed the book, there was a lot going on constantly, lots of action, sexy times and some funny parts. I loved the world building and the characters. I look forward to the next book.

This totally could be the one for you!!

The first 50 % of the book I really loved. Even though Christina got on my nerves sometimes. That is untill the point where the spice would be... Well imagine my suprise when it wasn't there. I had to swipe back to make sure... But yep.. no smecksy scenes...
If I read a book about aliens, I need some wierd looking peens. 😜

That's where I lost my interest, because after that it was all magic and rainbows. Pregnant ... Without having to read HOW it happened.

But.... Its very well written. This was an Arc read for me, but it was one of the best so far regarding how it was written. It was edited very well.

So if you dont mind not having any spice scene then this book might very well be a 5 star.

Pretty good story and interesting premier. Christina falls in the rabbit hole, or dumpster, and ends up falling off a dumpster into another dimension. There is nothing in this dimension to help a modern day girl figure out what to do. She meets Trog who is all set to claim her, feed her and keep her safe. He's sexy, blue and too hot to be real. First they need to figure out how to communicate with each other. What a great way to start and adventure. There is an HEA so no buying extra books just to find out what happens. Enjoyed the story.

My Savage Alien Rescuer by Josie Walker is a wonderful novel about a girl named Christina. Christina accidentally falls through a portal and ends up in another world by accident. As soon as she arrives she almost gets killed and a big blue alien named Trog comes to her rescue. This book has a lot of tongue in cheek humor. The heroine continually has a snarky inner dialogue going inside her head that made giggle. This story is definitely full of great romantic moments between Christina and Trog. Anyone who enjoys a scorching hot romance featuring a hot blue alien male and a sweet thirty year old woman hooking up for their unusual happily ever after will love this book as much I did.

Hard-won HEA

I thoroughly enjoyed this love story. Not steamy, but utterly romantic with a satisfying depth of emotion
Christina is such a likable person, and the story from her POV is told with refreshing candor and a wry, self-deprecating sense of humor that makes her very endearing. Trog is a straight-up Prince Charming, with a side of patience and a clear-headed focus on what matters most. The story from his POV is a testament to the depths of his love and admiration for Christina. This was a longer-than-typical alien romance, but reading it was worth every minute. I will definitely be looking for more from author Joquena Lomelino. This is a voluntary, independent ARC review.

First off I want to say that I really enjoyed and loved the concept of this story. Falling into a whole new world kinda remind me of Alice in Wonderland which I found really entertaining. What I didn't care for in this story was the heroine Christina!!! I tend to like my heroine to be feisty, sassy, and strong minded. Something Christina was not she was extremely annoying lack common sense and was just extra for no reason. Overall enjoyable and entertaining read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series.

This was a new author for me, but I will say that I really enjoyed this book. Christina is just in her own world; not really ditzy...just doing things her way, and too curious for her own good throughout the book, which adds to her appeal. Trog is always coming to her rescue and has deep feelings for her, which she doesnt seem to get. But sometimes you just want to smack her because she doesnt realize what she has found in him. All in all a good start to n interesting series.

this was a strong opening chapter to the Parallel Dimensions series, it had that supernatural elements that I was hoping for and enjoyed from this type of book. It was a unique concept and worked with the world that was going on. The characters had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from this type of book. I was engaged with the romance and how it was used in the scifi fantasy world elements. Joquena Lomelino wrote this well and left me wanting more.

A very fun first book! I read the second first and wasn’t lost at all. I found the characters interesting and premise unique enough to suck me in.

It’s a lot of romance mixed with sci fi or maybe portal fantasy? I do love a fish out of water and we had a couple who were both out of their depth in this relationship. Misunderstandings abound but in a fun way. I may have finished this book very quickly.

this was my first story from this author and i was sceptical at first as most of the alien romances i have found recently have been in the 3rd person POV but this is in the first person POV and both characters tell the story which i love , the story was great and even had me laughing a few times, i will be looking out for more from this author

Her life was going well until she fell and ends up in a parallel universe. A blue alien helps her but she does not understands a word he says. She does not even have the use of a phone to help. The flames of passions grow. Will she saty? Will she go back home? See how this will all go

I liked Christina!
She’s sassy and relatable and swept up on an otherworldly adventure.
The author has a talent for creating characters I love, stories that have me on the edge of my seat, and far off worlds that capture my imagination.

Yesss! I needed a little barbarian blue alien love in my life. I loved this story. It flowed so nicely and the characters were a blast. I love that even though they couldn’t understand each other they still found a way to communicate and love each other. It was a real test of everything i know about romance books.

Super cute

Really cute alien romance chock full of silliness and sweetness. I could identify with crafty MFC and enjoyed the alien. I wish I knew more about the culture of the aliens but it didn't detract.
