Wounded Warriors is a three book anthology and a complete series telling the stories of three wounded soldiers returning from war and how they each faced their problems and found useful and productive lives with women they loved.

In A Hero Within Jake Harrington, an ex-Marine suffers from PTSD and finds a new purpose in life and returns to his first love Kari Winslow.

The second story, Handle with Care is about Shane Dawson, a captured medic that suffered torture and had his hand cut off. He finds a new life working as a EMT, going to medical school and happiness with widowed Dr. Lauren Reynolds and her son Josh.

The third story is about Jake's younger brother, Brent Harrington when he came home blind from a helicopter crash into a mountain in the Middle East. His companion, Natalie Conners is running for her life from an ex in At First Sight.

I liked how the series recognized and honored our military heroes and the organizations that help them.

Loved the endings. Intrigued and hearted during the struggles.

I loved the writing of each story. They weren’t a quick repeat of each other. The words flowed throughout, making I an easy read.
The content covered aspects of those returning from war. Individual crises were different for each story. My heart ached for those battles that had to be fought at home because of changes in the individual’s life.
Each were in crisis mode. Not only trying to recover, but to figure out what to do with his life after physical recovery. My heart ached for each one of them. As a family counselor and a teacher, the dynamics presented were challenging.
Fortunately, recovery was possible. Support of family and friends, and organizations founded for these warriors. Love came at a good time for them. Men and women are stronger than they think. I thank goodness for all American service men and women who have helped keep us safe and those currently serving. My deepest regards to those Gold Star families who gave all.

A HERO WELCOME
Kari is a news anchor, with a different co anchor guy that makes her nervous, and now making mistakes. Called in and they are even going to do away with her special program of finding missing kids. She was hoping that someday she could find her missing sister .Wanting a glass of wine to unwind, she stopped and got them and a few groceries. Elevator was busy with a new person moving. Jake the war hero, blurted out that he was not welcome, this was her home. Even the wine bottles got broken when he bumped into her. There never was good bye between them, and he didn’t want one. Could he break the barrier of what she thought he was. He had years of therapy ahead of him, and wanted her to have her dreams, if it meant commuting between the cities they would do it. He had his work cut out for him, A good plot of second chances, and the love that was still there.
HANDLE WITH CARE
Shane feels like he is a screw up, as is the puppy that is tugging on the leash. The dog was to be trained to help the vets that came back from war.
At the beach so he would get use to people. A boy was weaving in and out of the crowd, and feel on the pavement, the mother behind, who was an E.R doctor had ?Shane call and ambulance. Taking the bikes to the hospital, and seeing them again, the boy asks if he could be his new daddy. They both are wounded, can love come and help heal, with the chances and dreams they have.
AT FIRST SIGHT
Shane hires Natalie for his buddy Brent, didn’t do any checking on her, but she seemed desperate for work. Another operation and this time doctors are hopefully that Brent would get his vision back.
She had an agenda a few months with this temporary assignment and she would move on. She had enough of rude, control men, and one that was abusive with his fists. When she looked at Brent again, he seemed
defenseless with fear of the unknown. She could help having been in that dark place. An emotionally look of two souls that have had a rough time so far. Would they give each other the courage to look for brighter days.

Add a half star

I rarely give 5 stars and this was close. A 5 star is a book that is accurate, which captures me into it's pages, draws me into the characters and that i want to read over and over again. With the title of the book i wished they had included more info on the wounded warriors project in the storyline but I guess it may have been hard to incorporate. Thank you for a good story.

Sweet....so sweet! A real page-turner!

This series was an unexpected treat. I devoured the three novels in this set in almost five days. Only taking time away to feed my boys and shower. The characters are well-rounded and fully developed and their connection to one another is ah-mazing. The last title, At First Sight, my favorite of the trio and a true tear-jerker. Way to go, Patrice Wilkins. Thank you.

Touching

Each of these wonderful stories show so much how each military personnel come homework different scars, both physical and or mental. But yes there are a lot of programs out there, some can't accept or won't. But it's a wonderful telling of how love , friendship, and family can help. I loved all 3 stories.

Really Worthwhile

The stories in this set not only showcase the plight of returning veterans but ways to help them assimilate back into civilian life. Not an easy journey at all. These are the stories though fictional that have a ring of truth. I am pleased that purchase of this set also helps Wounded Warriors Project.

A wonderful collection of stories of returning wounded war survivors and their journey to find love.
Two brothers and their friend return from fighting different campaigns and challenges that almost ruin their lives, but they have the good fortune to come across women who are strong enough to stand up to them and get their HEA through many challenges.
Recommend this as it is a great read.

Sounded Warriors Arise

This set of three stories was so good. I had to keep reading! I loved the stories about how these men fought for our country and for themselves on their return from war. The women they loved were also so brave to help their men recover and re-enter life.

Wounded Warriors often do not regain their place in society, life or love.
That shines a light of condemnation on society as a whole.
In these 3 books three men do find their HEA but not without some heartache and suspense.

Enjoyable reads

I haven't read any books by this author. These were good reads. I like that the author used this way to bring out a very important important topic - treatment of our wounded veterans. They have given all for us and should never want for anything.

Wounded Warriors

Three stories that were about military men that were wounded and came back to deal with after-war struggles. All three are related but stand alone. The writing was good but all three stories were way too long and in my opinion had very little romance. I did finish all three stories.
Book one. Didn’t feel a connection between the H and h of this story.
Book two . I doubt very much a six year old would say the things this one said, maybe an 8 or 9 year old would have a mouth like this one had. And there was an inconsistency about the timing of his injury from the first book. And romance story … this is not. I’m on chapter 34 and the H and h are still trying to figure it out. This story was mostly about a war vet that had a extremely awful experience. Not a romance story at all.
Book three. Again was about a war vet, Brent, who had come back blind, but the blindness might be temporary, so his doctors told him. So he didn’t want any help and was a very angry man. The ending was a bit rushed.
In all three books there was a HEA so there was that, but I really didn’t enjoy them as much as I would have liked.

Veterans - Memorial Day Weekend

As we celebrate Memorial Day these books just tell a fraction of what our military give for us. They should all be described as heros, and deserve our respect and gratitude.

Boring

Boring couldn't even finish reading it. Premise was good but the story was written in such a way that you didn't really care about the mystery the writer did not hold my attention!

Engrossing, Meaningful Stories

These 3 novels are that rare combination of excellent stories, deeply meaningful, and not preachy.

I had started and set aside two other books that just did not catch my interest before starting this set, but these grabbed me from the first page.
