Another decent volume, these are quick reads but I still don't find myself liking the supporting cast. Aside from Ainz and the twins they just don't really do it for me so whenever they're the focus the quality takes a little dip. I'm not sure if that's because the light novel writer isn't interested or the mangaka, it would make sense though because a lot of their stuff feels like filler.

We essentially get the Season One ending of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, from Ainz's point of view and so parts from Bell which is weird because it was also covered in his series but I ain't complaining it was the best bit. He was outgunned and fighting for his life, with a boss so much more powerful than him and Ainz and all of her party watched it awe, it was cool. There was one guy who's similar level to Ainz and he couldn't fathom why he's so interested in a weakling. If they focus on that a bit more we might just have 4 decent characters in this series.

I would say the weakest bit was at the end because it it does all the good will, they're super high class warriors, that haven't been challenged before that's why the Bell fight resonates with them so much but then some of them fall into this dungeon where everything is 100x more powerful for them and it just wasn't needed. I get that you need to challenge them at some point but you could have waiting for a bit. Instead of going oh here is this weakling, he's cool because he's outmatched and now it's your turn, not exactly thought provoking.

Facing the fear

With the big expedition into the lower reaches of the dungeon coming up soon Bell and Aiz wrap up their training sessions as he finds her tutelage has allowed him to improve drastically. For those who have read the main part of this series this volume of the manga coincides with the time Bell faces the monster that has been a catalyst to his fear that has limited his growth as an adventurer. With the expedition members looking on at the boy who was saved by them once (after they accidentally let a minotaur flee to the upper floors of the dungeon) facing the monster that should have been beyond his present level with determination they become inspired to face off against the many dangers that await them much deeper in the immense structure which is the labyrinthian dungeon under Orario.
