I am 100%, completely, totally over Jeremiah.

After all, he’s the one who dumped me.

For my best friend.

Via text message.

2 days before Christmas.

So I did what any self-respecting head cheerleader would do: I started dating his teammate. Who’s great. Really.

But now Jeremiah keeps looking at me like he misses holding me just as much as I miss being in his arms. And we’ve been paired up for the most important history project of my entire life.

Can my heart survive this? Or should I hope for another shot with the only boy I’ve ever loved?

Rebound Boyfriend is a sweet second chance sports romance you'll swoon over instantly. It's the third book in the Varsity Girlfriends series.

Silly plot, sillier story. When I read the reason behind the young couple's initial break up, I just rolled my eyes - a contrived farce. My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sammi has been dumped by Jeremiah. And he is with her best friend now. And to get over him, Sammi decides to look for another boyfriend.
It was not my favourite book this year. Honestly, it wasn't my favourite book this month. Even some parts of the plot seemed a bit silly. But try to remember how your life was at eighteen. The boys, friends, the drama!!!!!

Rebound Boyfriend is the third book in the Varsity girlfriends series. I was so excited to get my hand on a copy! I was sure I was going to enjoy this book because I had a hard time with Sammi. She was kinda unlikable for the first half of the book. I had faith and pushed on and I needed up liking this book. I wasn't sure about Sammi being so fixated on Jeremiah but I was surprised how much I enjoyed their friendship in the end. I also really really loved Staci!! If you give this book a chance I think you'll end up enjoying it. The characters have a lot of growth and are relatable. Also some favorites from earlier in the series pop back up which was a great surprise.

Rebound Boyfriend is the third book in the Varsity Girlfriends serie and this one is written by Daphne James Huff. This book is about Sammi who just got dumped by Jeremiah, one of the starting five we got to know in the first two books. Sammi is the Head cheerleader and this book we learn another side of her. I really liked this book and the couple.

I love that these stories are quick and easy reads. Another great book in the Varsity Girlfriends series. I was glad they did a story on the Alpha Female/ head cheerleader Sammi and showed that just because you are popular and it seems like everything is going great for you; doesn't mean people still don't have things going on in their lives that are affecting them. I felt kinda bad for Sammi because she was dumped out of the blue for no reason and then her home life is falling apart also.
I don't understand what it is about these stories though and why honesty is such a big part of them. Most of Sammi's problems could have been avoided if people had just been honest with each other. Jeremiah should have been honest with her in the beginning and she probably should have confronted him about it but they just let each other have to much heartache.
I also kinda wondered why the author bothered giving Sammi a brother and sister when they didn't really add to the story and you never technically met them. They were just extra characters that got talked about and referenced to but didn't really have to deal with the family problems like Sammi did. Also I'm not sure how I felt about Staci as her best friend. I didn't like some of the choices she made towards Sammi and what she said to her. I didn't really see the point of trying to push Sammi to spend time with Ryan when they obviously didn't really like each other. I think Staci should have been a better friend and had Sammi talk to Jeremiah and see what was going on and help her through the breakup. Not hurt anyone else's feelings or push her to completely get rid of her feelings for Jeremiah. It just doesn't work that way. I'm glad things worked out in the end though and they were finally honest with each other. I wasn't really a fan of Staci but I am curious to see who ends up with who in the last book. I'm glad I was able to get a copy of this for my honest review to see how the story is going and what's happening with the characters from the other books.

Omg Jeremiah this Jeremiah that like sheesh

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

Okay •••• Spoilers throughout••••

Okay! This book was good, but OMFG Sammi got on my last nerve. Like ugh; all she did was obsessed over Jeremiah but when Ryan said he liked someone else; she felt some way. I’m like she didn’t even want him so why do she care... especially when Ryan didn’t run to her on different occasions... she was ONLY thinking about JEREMIAH for peak sake like sheesh!

But she was an idiot to think that Linkie waits Linzie was her friend look at what happened with Anderson and Charlie, and how Anderson cheated on her with Linzie. Even though, Jeremiah didn’t technically cheat he still left Sammi for Linzie of all people. That girl is a jealous thot! Keep messing around with people men...

Luckily Sammi found out and finally gotten with Jeremiah because I could barely handle reading about her whining and comparing Ryan to Jeremiah.... 9/10; I figure Ryan was shy or didn’t even want her that was the reason why he acted that way towards her. It was just painful reading this book because all she did was whine, but at least she got her friendship back with Staci! Now I want Staci to find love with someone, and pray to god if she does she isn’t whiny as her best friend Samantha good god it was dreadful...

This book was a bit of silly fun. I much preferred the other books in the Varsity Girlfriends series but it wasn't a bad book. It was just silly.
A fun lighthearted read but could have made more use of the characters and developed them further - the cheerleaders were all basically the same person!

I feel like this story, perhaps, wasn't for me. I've read a lot of YA books and I think there are better stories out there at the moment. For someone just starting in YA books or for actually YA readers this book might be awesome.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All the opinions in this review are my own and are in no way influenced.

This one was an enjoyable read. Jeremiah breaks Sammi’s heart - but maybe there’s a reason why... I tried to connect with the characters but it didn’t really happen for me. It’s an easy YA read and I seriously loved the cover.

1.5 stars? 1.75? Ehh... Idk

Okay, so let's start with what I didn't hate. The writing was okay. The mc is Sammi, a teenager, and the story reads like a teenager's narrative... a seriously immature teenager, but a kid nonetheless. I quite liked Staci. She was a little pushy and annoying at times, but mostly she was the only one with any sense.

That's it. That's all I can think of.

Sammi was an awful character. She was meant to come across as this strong, alpha female type but she did nothing but cry and whine about everyone treating her badly. It was infuriating really because she treated almost every other character appallingly. I'm not surprised she kept getting her ass dumped. She constantly used people and then had the audacity to be surprised when they wised tf up! Ryan might have been hopeless but he deserved better. She'd go on and on about how she was Sammi Parsons, head cheerleader and alpha female (if you have to constantly remind your readers that your mc is a strong, alpha bitch, she ain't), but she was weak and indecisive and spiteful. Also... where are her family? Her dad makes a verybrief appearance, her mom is always gallivanting somewhere and her brother and sister aren't even named, let alone present.

Jeremy wasn't much better. Honestly I thought he was a bit of a wet blanket. He had no passion, no fight in him. I kept hoping he'd grow a backbone and call Sammi out on her bullshit but no, he was always on the verge of tears whenever she was a bitch (basically the whole time). His reason for dumping her was honestly a letdown. I mean, what an anticlimax. I genuinely thought there was gonna be this big reveal but it was just a little disappointing.

I didn't like this book. I'm not saying it's bad, because I'm sure it's not targeted at people my age anyway, so maybe someone much younger would enjoy it. It just really wasn't my cup of tea.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.

Teenage love. It’s heady, tumultuous, and dramatic.

Sammi Parsons has it all. She is pretty, head cheerleader, no money problems and the love of Jeremiah, the boy she has been pining over for years. But she also has secrets, secrets she doesn’t want anyone to know about.

But some people do know and some people need to know.

One afternoon Jeremiah dumps her and takes up with her best friend with no explanation. He does this just after Sammi’s Dad leaves and moves on California.

Enter Staci. Staci is a cheerleader and seems to have been in Sammi’s peripheral far as friends go for the bulk of high school so far. When Jeremiah dumps her, Staci steps up to help Sammi navigate heartbreak.

Staci marches to the beat of her own drum so to speak. She loves tarot and new age things and is determined to help Sammi move on even though she comes across as a little intense at times. Staci encourages Sammi to try and move on and Sammi does try.

But it’s not easy when the guy you’re trying to date has never dated before and your ex keeps making sad eyes at you. To make matters worse, her history teacher has paired her up with Jeremiah to help bring her grades backup.

On top of everything at school, Sammi also has a more cordial relationship with her mother. She chose to stay with her Mom because her Dad said some things to her Mom than Sammi hasn’t forgiven him for. Her relationship with her Mom is distant because her Mom spent most of her time working. They gradually find their way to each other tough, which is sweet.

Everything comes to a head with some secrets being revealed, some confided in the one person who could have benefited from knowing, friendships are tested and Sammi gets overwhelmed before the ultimate conclusion.

Such if life and high school.

I enjoyed this. The writing style was current, flowed easily and really encapsulated the high school experience.

Sammi is a good character. Very well written teenage perspectives, doubts and emotions. I’ve been in Sammi’s shoes, having a boyfriend stolen by a friend, and as a teenager it is dreadful. My younger, teenage heart wanted to cry for Sammi. My older, mature perspective wanted to tell her to relax, life works itself out.

Jeremiah. Oh Jeremiah. What trouble a simple conversation would have saved you. Very noble, self-sacrificing teenage boy who loves basketball, his family and Sammi.

Linzie, the boyfriend-stealing, secret-sharing, jealous and vindictive former best friend. We don’t get any insight to her in this book, but it’s clear she hates Sammi. I wonder if they were ever the friends Sammi thought they were.

Rebound Boyfriend had an engrossing plot and good conclusion.

Just like the previous two books, this book follows one of the starting five on the boys' basketball team and one of the girls in this highschool as well. If you've read the first two books, I am happy to tell you, we do get a glimpse of the characters we came to love in those! Even though every book is a standalone, I love getting a little glimpse of the other characters.

Rebound Boyfriend follows Sammi, who was dumped by her boyfriend right before Christmas. To make matters worse, he broke up with her to be with her best friend. Not only that happens to her, but her life at home was turned upside down and it feels like she has no one in her corner.

In all honesty, I had a hard time with Sammi in the beginning. She's a cheerleader and the captain of the team, so she does have to keep everything up for the team. Even though her heart may not be in it. In all honesty, I couldn't understand why she'd still want a guy who broke up with her through a text message and chose to be with her best friend. I get that she really cared about him, but no one should be treated that way.

Her best friend Staci is quite the interesting one. I like how much she's there for Sammi, even though the advice to have a rebound boyfriend even if she doesn't like him, wasn't exactly really smart. To use someone like that is just so wrong. Other than that, she definitely was a supportive friend! When she started realizing what she was doing was wrong in a way, she definitely grew as a character.

Just like Staci, Sammi really changes during this book. I think the way high school is these days it was very realistic in many ways. I loved how Sammi starts seeing she may not have been right in what she was doing and that is was up to her to feel stronger. Sammi seeing herself as an independent person I think was a big thing. We shouldn't feel the constant need to be in a relationship. Especially one that makes you unhappy.

I can't talk too much about everything that goes on with Jeremiah, because by doing so it would spoil most of the book, haha. The angst and drama surrounding their relationship/friendship was a bit too much at times and I think it would've been better for the book if the big secret was revealed a bit sooner. In the end, I really liked Jeremiah, but I would've liked to have had more time with him in this story. If that makes any sense.

Even though I had some issues with Rebound Boyfriend, I still really did enjoy Sammi's story. This is a series you can't put down and I just needed to know how things would continue. Rebound Boyfriend is an amazing example that things can change and may not always be as they seem. I was happy with how everything worked out in the end and I can't wait for the next book in this series!

It was okay. Not anything spectacular.

I didn't like Sammi. She was so whiny. Yes, there were some very sad things happening in her life, just she just whined and complained about everything, how her life was so tough. I don't really understand why she felt like no one could know her parents split up, or even why anyone would care. I don't really think high schoolers are concerned about what is happening in their classmates' home lives. I also disliked how she kept thinking of her self as the alpha female. I get that it was her mantra, but I do not think she really ever thought that. Also, it's a bit conceited. She was also extremely disrespectful to Ryan.

I am conflicted on my thoughts about Jeremiah. I knew he meant well by trying to be with Linzie, but he wasn't doing a very good job at it. Also, the fact that he clearly had feelings for Sammi but was making out with her best friend in the hallway was weird. I also don't see why he couldn't tell Sammi what Linzie knew and then let Sammi decide what to do.

For the most part, I liked Ryan. He was different than the other basketball players. However, to think that he would be so different and inexperienced just because he was new to the "starting five" and "only" a junior is a bit far-fetched. He was still an athlete. So the idea that he would have no idea "how to be a boyfriend" seems a little odd. I am glad he stuck up for himself and found someone that respects him for who he is.

Linzie. Why does she always have to play the villain? She is one of the few characters that has been somewhat featured in every book. And in every book, she is mean. This may be true, she may just be a mean girl, but I think they could have found a new girl to play the bad girl. Especially because she has now dated two players on the same basketball team. And in the last book, it seemed like she really cared about Anderson.

Overall, I thought the majority of this book was just Sammi whining about losing Jeremiah. She would whine, he would do something nice, Staci would tell her to stop, Sammi would try to forget about him but then he would be nice again. It was just a constant cycle. Very possible, especially for a high school relationship, but just not something I want to spend a few hours reading.

I also thought the book wrapped up so quickly. It was very sudden that Sammi showed up to school and everything got resolved in a few pages. We waited so long to find out why Jeremiah was with Linzie and in the end it was a somewhat trivial reason and BAM Sammi and Jeremiah were back together and in love again.

Fine book. Nice to see Charlie and the basketball boys again.

I guess I'm way too old for this kind of YA book, but I find it in some parts funny and entertaining. Engaging even with depth, if a reader tries to delve beyond the surface of what a book like this, is really trying to tell us. Anyway, I find heroine's friend amusing. It's funny how this "alpha female" as she often has to remind herself as her mantra, thinks and navigates herself with her newfound "puppy". Err rebound boyfriend 😄 I mean.

Author deftly captures in this book, how most highschool teens typically think, act and go through their explorations of life and love, in their quests for self discovery and independence. They face heartaches, sweet young loves and life's realities as they go along the way and as they begin their journey to adulthood. Family dynamics too, that are sometimes far from perfect. These kids think they're already grownups, but they're still kids in the truest sense, fumbling and finding their way into this world.

This book is finely written. I'm not so much into single POVs and teen stories. I just got curious how this one goes. Yet I find this one a decent read. Well like I said, if we try to delve deeper into the complexities and intricacies of teenage life.

I wouldn't even begrudge the author of the undying, common and shallow plot device, called "miscommunication" between the characters , as what most contemporary books have. In here dominating the whole book except for the last chapter. This book is about second chances. A second chance at love, friendship and family. Not mainly for the romance itself. If you can call it that, for this book. Hero and heroine aren't even together, not until the last chapter. Lots of heroine's thoughts about her guy dramas throughout the whole book, and just like that, everything got resolved in the last chapter. A few sentences or paragraphs clearing things out. Like I said, I tend to look for what's really inside a story, a book, mostly people. I don't like thinking everytime I've finished reading a book with some silly miscommunication, that I've just wasted my time. It kind of left me lacking though in the romance department.

Nevertheless a cute, relatable and an interesting read.

Sammi’s best friend is Staci and she said Jeremiah was staring at her again and she was right. But he shouldn’t be as he is the one that dumped her after going out together for two months . Jeremiah was dating Linzie. She turned into his gaze and he looked sad. It had barely been two weeks since they broke up . Sammi was jealous of Jeremiah and Linzie. Staci put her arm around Sammi as they went down the hall. Staci had spent winter break with Sammi’s numerous tears and buckets of ice cream. Jeremiah dumped Sammi teo days before her birthday. Staci told her to get over him already and find someone new. But who? Than Staci reminded her Jeremiah dumped her and by text message. Jeremiah had dumper her for her best friend- than- and fellow cheerleader and that proves he’s scum and not worth her time. Sammi blamed Linzie for the entire thing but still had to deal with hre everyday and Sammi was head cheerleader. Staci and Sammi had always been good friends but Staci stepped up- after Linzie went out with Jeremiah. Than their history teacher make Jeremiah and Sammi do their final project together and she needs to do good and pass history. Staci said she had someone for Sammi- Jeremiah’s teammate Ryan - even if he was only a junior and Sammi was a senior. Jeremiah had been Sammi crush since middle school.
I didn’t care for this book. I usually enjoy this genre but just didn’t connect with this book or the characters. I am sure there are many others who will love this but it just wasn't for me.

This is the 3rd book in the varsity girlfriends series. They are standalones but characters from the other books do show up, so if you wanna know about them you will want to read the others too! Which i can tell you that you wont be sorry.

This book follows Sammi. Head cheerleader and alpha female...or is she? I loved getting into Sammi's head. She had her moments that made me want to scream but i know that was just how she was and needed time to sort things out.

I loved Jeremiah. You dont get to read in his point of view but i still loved following him and learning more about him and what was going on.

This was such a cute fun read with emotional times that was very enjoyable. The book was full of everything real and i had times where i had issues coming back to real life. I found myself wanting to scream, cry, and breakdown along with Sammi and in the end im sure my smile was bigger than hers. You all need to pick up this series and be ready for a night of no sleep until you finish the last page.

"Everyone who knew how to make things better had left me. This was all on me to figure out" (chapter 26)

Thank you Kayla Tirrell and the Varsity Girlfriends team for a free copy in return for an honest review. This review is originally posted on my blog, June Reads Books.

This story left a bitter taste in my mouth. I didn't find any of the characters to be engaging or redeeming, except for possibly parts with Jeremiah. I tried not to go into this story with any time of YA cheerleader stereotypes, but this story stuck pretty close to the script. All of the girls were whiny and superficial. Sammi just wasn't very likable, which made it hard to empathize with her while she's dealing with heartache.

Things that made me frustrated: Sammi's best friend was extremely manipulative. There's a line between trying to help your friend get over their ex and forcing them to do things to make that happen, and Staci for sure crosses that line completely. I also didn't like Sammi's relationship with Ryan--or really Ryan at all. He was annoying and I couldn't make sense of anything he did. Sammi's decision to train him to be a good boyfriend was a really half-assed plot device and wasn't fleshed out well at all. And finally, the reveal of why Jeremiah broke up with Sammi, even though he was clearly not over her, was extremely anti-climatic and pretty silly.

I did very much enjoy some of the scenes between Sammi and Jeremiah, specifically when they were working on their history project. The chemistry between them was fun to read.

After reading some of the reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. This author was spot on as far as emotions and angst.
High School is hard enough. Then when you add the pressures of parents breaking up, WOW! Not to mention the whole college thing, senior year as a whole and the pre-separation anxiety, and with Sammi, you have to add these jealous of the head cheerleader.
Now, she has at the same time her boyfriend Jeremiah breaking up with her two days before her birthday and Christmas. She has the two-week break to cry her eyes out but when she returns, he’s now dating your now ex-best friend who is also a cheerleader. And boy do they show PDA. LOUDLY!
The thing is as the days go by, Staci, her new well-meaning best-friend is having her purge and be angry and mean to Jeremiah which is so not her. Causing Jeremiah to flinch, don’t know what he expected. Anyway, she sees just as much longing in his eyes as she sees in her own. So, she is having problems letting go of her love for him.
Staci decides she needs a new guy his teammate that’s not going well for Jeremiah but especially, Sammi. See all the many things that seem to go wrong by following Staci’s advice instead of talking to Jeremiah.
This author nailed it I have a teen who just graduated at the end of this last May. Let me tell you this is like listening to some of the catty things happening when she was in school.

I received a copy of Rebound Boyfriend by Daphne James Huff from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, this novel missed the mark for me. I felt that the plot should have been interesting given the story's summary, but the plot wasn't evenly paced and dragged often; and Sammi, the female protagonist, came across as selfish and whiny, plus unmotivated to fix her issues (just whined about them). She wasn't a strong character and I found her to be rather boring and just weakly fleshed out. If I had cared more about her, I might have actively rooted against (but I just didn't care that much). Also, her love interest, Jeremiah, was no better. I just couldn't see the appeal of those two.

I'd give Rebound Boyfriend by Daphne James Huff 2 stars.

You could not pay me enough money to go back to high school. Especially after reading this book. The drama, the emotions, ALLL the feelings, liking someone and them not like you back, being too scared to be with someone.. the list is endless & on top of that still be expected to maintain a good enough GPA to get you into college. Man, it’s no wonder I’m so neurotic in my mid-late twenties.

Gotta admit this book took me on a whirlwind rollercoaster of melodrama that at times I just couldn’t help but shake my head and wonder at the sanity of the characters. And when you find out the reason as to why the main characters couldn’t be together? Straight out of my sister’s telenovelas dramatic. 🤦🏼‍♀️ But! It did keep me entertained for a good two nights so gotta give it that at least.

After reading book one in the series, I was a little hesitant about Sammi. Sure, she played a pivotal role in story, so I did have a little love for her. After reading Rebound Boyfriend, I can't help but to love her now. It was also nice to have interactions with previous characters. Often times, books in series that can be stand-alone don't pull in the other characters. This book did just enough.

This was a heart-wrenching story about high school love and the silly things kids do in and for relationships. The element of family drama was nice to have in the story. Made it more real to life.

Easy read and beautifully written. Can't wait to read more in the series.

Her Blind Faith In Love
By Korkoi

It is a well written story, with great character and a wonderful storyline. It is an enjoyable read will move you to keep turning pages, with all the drama, bitchiness, jealousy and challenging teenage issues. Sami’s was the head cheerleader and her boyfriend was a basketball player, but it appears outside forces will do everything to make sure they don’t stay together. There are a few twists and turns in the story but they ultimately end up where they were always supposed to be.

I received on ARC of this book from Bookfunnel and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was such a fun read. This whole series is great and brings you right back to high school. I particularly enjoyed this book because there was so much drama and angst but laced with humor.

The main character, Sammi, was so funny and a little self-involved but as the story went on she became more self-aware and even more likable. Even though this book focuses mostly on boy drama, I really enjoyed the relationship between Sammi and her best friend Staci. Their relationship was uplifting, believable, and empowering.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and the entire series.

This was an amazingly fast read and easy to get through.
Sami, the protagonist was going through a. Lot and could be whiny at times but I could understand why she was acting the way she did and I ended up liking her quite a lot by the end of the novel.

Another character I liked was Staci- Sammi’s best friend. She was quite unique and I liked that. She made a lot of sense even though she hid behind her tarot cards. I would really love to see more of her!

It was easy to get through the book but there was nothing that I really couldn’t predict. I like being surprised but that didn’t happen. It was very cliché and it never strayed from there and so I couldn’t really enjoy the book fully. The book was really good but it could have definitely been better.

I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for the next book in the series and hoping that there is more character development and unpredictability!

A cute and short read. Book three in the Varsity Girlfriend series.

Sammi is the head cheerleader who has some secrets. She has been dumped by her boyfriend for her so called best friend (well now ex best friend) So her friend advises her to find a rebound. She finds one but can’t seem to get over her ex. An ex who also seems to have his own little secret to why he’s done things.

Overall a fun and light hearted read. Shows that communication is big.

Popular cheerleader Sammi Parsons learns to follow her heart instead of just listening to her friends in Rebound Boyfriend. After Jeremiah, her boyfriend from the basketball team, dumps her for fellow cheerleader Linzie, she decides to date one of his teammates Ryan to prove she’s over him. But things get complicated when a history project pairs up Sammi and Jeremiah and they discover they might want more than friendship with each other.

The best parts of this book are the adorable moments between Sammi and Jeremiah, whether they're working on their project together, hanging out as friends, or he's saving her from a crisis. There's a bit of a mystery as to why Jeremiah broke up with Sammi and started dating Linzie, and whether or not he actually still cares about Sammi.

One scene I particularly enjoyed was the Valentine's Day flower exchange, which felt reminiscent of the rose exchange in Lauren Oliver’s Before I Fall. It gives the characters an opportunity to express their feelings for the people they care about by sending flowers either by name or anonymously. Many of the students treat it like a popularity contest, but much like in Before I Fall a flower given out of kindness can really make a difference in a character’s day.

Rebound Boyfriend is an interesting addition to the Varsity Girlfriends series and I look forward to seeing where this series will go next.

I'd wanted to read Sammi's story pretty much since meeting her in Courtside Crush.

I like it when the head cheerleader gets to be more than the stereotypical queen bee, and I'll admit that her story didn't quite turn out as I expected.
Jeremiah seemed a bit too good to be true, but hey - I'm all for good-guy heroes, so I'm not really complaining.

I've enjoyed all three books in the series so far, and I'm looking forward to reading the next.

This was another great reads in the Varsity Girlfriends series!! I loved getting to know Sammi in this book. It was fun getting to see her as more than just the dumb cheerleader who has a "perfect" life. Linzie was exactly the villain that we needed in this book. The tension with her, Sammi, and Jeremiah was well written. I would love to get to read Staci's story in the future. She seems like a unique character!

Rebound Boyfriend is the third book in the Varsity Girlfriends series by Daphne James Huff and can easily be read as a standalone. A young adult romance that is sure to sweep you off your feet and warm your heart. Each book in the series follows one of the starting five on the boys' basketball team and one of the girls in this high school as well. Each book starts with a short backstory of the previous books. Rebound Boyfriend is a fun young adult romance that I enjoyed reading.
