Dyson has dedicated his life to saving children and protecting them from evil. The team he works with is his family since he long ago left the one he was born into. With his own past filled with darkness, he uses sex to escape from the demons that haunt him.

Jeremy thought he had everything he wanted in life, a good job, a great boyfriend, and a future in the CIA, but it all disappears in an instant. Forced to leave everything he knows behind, he faces starting a new life, erasing the past and everything about who he was.

When unfortunate circumstances toss Dyson and Jeremy together, they both struggle to adapt, mourning their past, and fearing the future. It's only their determination to right the wrongs in the world that push them forward, showing them that together new dreams are forged, and happiness can be achieved.

The author warned people in her readers group on Facebook that people might either like the story with all his changes (nope, not telling you what those are) or not. I personally liked it. It was completely different than I anticipated but I still really liked it.
The only thing I was a bit annoyed by - and I think that's only because here in Germany we don't really use single letters as names - was the constant use of the stand-alone letter D for Dyson. I got why it was used that way but it sometimes felt a bit much.

Nonetheless overall I really enjoyed Free and I can't wait to see what more E.M. Leya has in store for her STK series.

I kinda want Trent and Carter to end up together, am I the only one?

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series, and this story of Dyson and the way the author went with it is brilliant. This story is through a few different characters' POV at the beginning, while Dyson is going through his tragic circumstance. Bryon and Carter are masterminds at what they do and have gained major respect. I truly enjoyed reading this from others POV as you feel you are getting to know the whole family. It also sets up for possible further stories in the series. As does the new direction Ms. Leya created with Dyson and Jeremy. Jeremy was amazing. He was gentle yet firm, understanding yet not afraid to ask questions, and just the perfect match for Dyson, nka, D.

Even with the multiple POVs at the beginning, the story flows really well. There is never a dull moment. I enjoyed learning what it takes to create and run an STK team. We get to see the original team, and I am thankful for that, as Xander is one of my favorite of all time, but we also get to know some new members.

I am so looking forward to seeing how the author keeps this series going. Fingers crossed for Carter's or Patrick's story.

Love this book!
Dys is such a great character.
I really enjoy where the author took the story, how "what happened" was handle. I was scared the easy way out would be chosen and nope. Well written story line.
Lots of feelings, heartbreaking moment, then happy and hopeful moment.
Jeremy and Dys have a great chemistry, they are different but complete each other. Their journey toward accepting their new life, together, supporting each other was amazing to read.
I love this series and can't wait for more.
The book was interesting, entertaining. Took the series in a whole new direction. Well done.
There is so many possibilities now with all those characters, new and old locations.

Free (Save The Kids Book 4)

Another win. Love this series. Hard AF to read at times, very satisfying at other times. Great balance.

I hope this 2nd STK means there're more books to come.

This series gets better and better

When Dyson is forced to leave STK and everything he knows and loves behind, he is offered an opportunity to set up and run a new team thousands of miles away. Not sure if he can do it, he is partnered with jeremy, a former CIA computer operative. As the two work together to form a team they also help each other to come to terms with their pasts. This book is like all other E.M. Leya books, it's well written and thoroughly entertaining page turner. Thoroughly recommend

I am not sure what has been going on lately. All the series I have been reading have been changing completely. I am so used to see all the original characters that this book was a bit of a shock to me. I couldn't wait to read Dyson's story. This was definitely different than the way I expected it to go though.

The above being said, I did enjoy the book immensely. I got my little bit of all the characters from the previous books having small parts. I also got to find out what made Dyson tick.

I have to say that the new team was definitely growing on me. I didn't think they would that quick. They just grabbed me as they appeared and held on. I honestly can't wait to see what is in store for either/both teams in the next book. There are a bunch more characters to find out about now.

Love this series.Loved Dyson's story. Leya has such a unique writing style. It's all about her characters. I don't have to read pages and pages of "how green the grass is". Gosh I hope this series never ends. Hope down the track we get to read Faiths story even though I don't know how that would work in a m/m genre. Thank you EM you have excelled again

Brilliant.

Another brilliant addition to Save the Kids. I was hooked from the very first chapter. What a ride this one was for Dyson. Brilliantly written, and a very emotional, moving plot. I'm glad he found Jeremy.

Good

This one was just as good as the others in this series. I do have one complaint. The author tends to skip between points of view with no notice. Makes it a bit difficult to figure out who is speaking.

brilliant

I really liked this book. I felt sorry for D having to leave the team but I am glad he managed to find peace and Jeremy. It was strange seeing a different team introduced but glad the old characters still pop up

Good series and author

This is a tough series to read. Great author. But before you try this, be sure you know there are severe traumas throughout the story. Sometimes, you may want to put the book down and clear ..... 🤐

Dyson's book was the most difficult and painful to read, and probably the most beautiful. So many things happened that it felt like the longest one and almost like a spin-off.

Started great, ended great but took me too many days to get through the middle. Was almost a DNF.
