Howling Hills Heat #4

Knot The Enemy

Rate this book
Devan Puckett is a rising star in the culinary scene. A well known chef with his own cooking show, he lives and breathes meats and vegetables, grains and fruits... and his years-long rivalry with Ori Wilson.

Ori Wilson is a confident omega. Sassy and irreverent, he's not about to let any alpha show him up... especially not Devan Puckett. He's been overshadowed by that particular alpha enough - first in culinary school, and then by Devan's commercial success.

When the local network pairs Ori and Devan together for a show test-tasting their way across California, neither man believes it will pan out. They're at each other's throats constantly - which turns out to be exactly what the viewership wants.

The pressure is on to deliver as the ratings climb the charts, but when Ori finds himself going into heat mere hours before an important shoot, will simple biology be the undoing of their joint career? Or will the animosity between them spark into something far more dangerous - and delicious?

Knot the Enemy is a wolf shifter mpreg romance novel with a guaranteed happily ever after. It is the fourth book in the Howling Hills Heat series, where finding your fated mate isn't just a dream - it's destiny. This book and every other book in the series can be read in any order.

Still waiting for a 5 star worthy book in this series. Got one last one to read so here is hoping. It is not that this book was bad, just not perfection. My issues with the book were that some of the details were a bit sloppy (if you are gonna write about TV ratings do so in a way that makes sense) and the story in this book seemed more than a bit rushed. I loved the two MCs and the whole dynamic between them, especially for the humor it provided. It was definitely fun getting to see the rest of the pack as well. Over all a well above average and very enjoyable read!

TASTE BUDS!!!

This is Book #4 of the HOWLING HILLS SERIES!! Funny, this is fast paced and hilarious. Alpha Devan, thought he was ready to go head to head with a bratty, wise cracking Omega. WRONG!!! There are no other Omegas like Ori. These two are NOT ready for what lies ahead. But this is a FANTASTIC story that just made me laugh. They are a hot and revved up couple on the road to greatness. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS INCREDIBLE SERIES!!!!!

This one was cute and has some fun steamy parts but I felt like it was super rushed and like there wasn't much story with this one. one minute they were enemies and the next minute they were the lovey dovey couples who forget they hate each other. Two cooks who hate each other get invited to be on a cooking show and either have to do it or destroy their career they worked do hard for and ofcourse they doesnt end well we they are forced to share a room and one of the goes into heat the day before the need to be on the air. In order not to be fired for having to cancle the show, theres only one option left. Devaney has to help ori out if his heat meaning he has to sleep with the one person he cant stand but something unexpected happens when he finds himself knotting the omega, can someone he hates really bad his fated mate? this was still an enjoyable read, I just felt like everything happened too quickly and there wasnt a whole lot of development to the story and characters.

This is the 4th book in the Howling Hills Heat Series. Where they Alpha and Omega are rival with their cooking podcast. Things really start to steam up in the kitchen when they are put together for a cooking show. With all the competition between their seems to be a spark within. this was a wonderful story of Ori even though he sometimes didn't think things through and Devan who has to control everything. Recommend this book and series of the Howling Hills Alpha

Knot The Enemy by Liam Kingsley is the fourth book in the Howling Hills Heat series. This is a fun enemies to lovers romance. The heat between Devan and Ori is steamy - both in bed and out. Passionate in conflict and in love. I enjoyed their interactions throughout. Sweet, sexy and very satisfying.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

**AUDIO BOOK REVIEW**

This is the first book I've "read" in the Howling Hills Alpha series, although other characters are mentioned (I assume from previous books) this stands well on its own.

Devan Puckett is a culinary podcast star and is offered a TV series with his rival Ori Wilson, taste testing at restaurants across the country, hopefully with some tension and sass thrown in between the two of them - reality TV at its best. Ori is an omega and will not be bested by Devan's Alpha status. But, Ori soon requires Devan's assistance when his heat strikes unexpectedly and they then discover there is a fine line between love/hate and being fated mates.

The page-count did not allow for depth of character or story line, it was an easy, light insta-love of enemies to lovers, with plenty of smexy time and humour. However, it did seem a little rushed in a couple of places - there didn't seem to be any real transition, it was enemies to fated mates within a few paragraphs and the "claiming" was a bit of a let down.

I did like both MC's, even though Devan was an arrogant selfish arse on a number of occasions and Ori went from being a confident and cheeky omega to stereo-typical meek and mild - which was a little confusing.

The narrator Chris Shaunan was easy on the ears and his accent was melodic and intonation was pleasant even when there was little change in tone for the different characters, it was still easy to identify them.

Overall, this was a enjoyable few hours spent. The story ended on a HEA, which left me content

A copy of this book was kindly gifted to me by the author.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fourth book in the Howling Hills series. In this book, Devan is an alpha who is about to get his won reality show about visiting different restaurants and talking about the food. Devan is happy for the show, but when he learns the producers added his nemesis Ori to join him, he is not impressed. Ori is an omega and also trained as a chef with Devan. Devan and Ori competed with everything and Devan ususally won. Ori hated Devan and Knows they are going to disagree on everything. When Ori goes into heat the night before they are to film a big episode, Devan decides to help him out. Ori knows he has to have sex to stop his heat, or he won't be able to film the show. Both Devan and Ori are even more shocked to find out they are fated mates when Devan knots Ori. They hate each other, but fate seems to think they should be together, so they have to try and figure out how. I loved this book, i laughed at them. I loved Devan and Ori together. They had a love/ hate relationship but i think underneath it all, they really liked each other, but wouldn't admit it. Once they were mated, they had no choice but to admit their feelings. Another good one in this series.

(Review with spoilers)

New book in the series. I liked it, but not as much as the others (the third is still my favorite).

Devan and Ori are old rivals who are forced to work together. Neither of them wanted to do it, but they accepted and discovered that the other was not as they believed, that they could get along, and that there could be more than friendship between them.

I love the chemistry between them, and how they are surprised that they can have fun together.

At the beginning of the book, I liked Devan better than Ori. Ori is too smug. But, as the story progressed, that changed. I liked Ori much better, and I disliked Devan. After their discussion (his discussion, because he didn't let Ori speak), I stopped liking him, for everything he said, for what he said, for how he hurt Ori with his words, and how he thought he enjoyed it. In the other books I did not get this impression of him being so cruel. Yes, he repents at once, and he thinks that, as a wolf, he won't hurt him anymore and won't break his heart again. But I think Ori forgives him too soon.

I love Shane, how he talks to Devan, how he tells him not to lose the best that has ever happened to him. I hope he soon finds his mate.

I loved seeing the other couples and their children.

Food is our common ground, a universal experience. ~James Beard~
Ori & Devan were hilarious, I adored their banter and endless taunting. I completely understand why they got the show "Taste Buds" if this was actually on T.V. I'd watch every episode. I do wish this book was a little longer, just because it would have been fun to have more of the back and forth rivalry. Maybe even a couple of pranks played on each other, like how great would it have been to have the caramel apple onion in this story and capture either characters face on live T.V. I think the pranks were fun in Knot the Broseph but this book would have benefited from some of those moments. However, I still loved their relationship and how protective Devan became of Ori. I found that this book flowed a bit better than the first two in the series. It didn't have the silly fights or drama, were there issues? yes, but I felt like they were handled better in this story.
Chris was an awesome narrator, he really captured Ori's cheeky personality and Devan's Alpha attitude!!

Devan Puckett is a rising star in the culinary world. With his own show he’s quickly on the rise to stardom. Unfortunately he has to share the spotlight with his long time rival.

Ori Wilson is a sassy omega. He’s confident and nothing makes him more confident than when he’s in the kitchen. He’s excited about his new network show but he’s less than excited when he has to share the spotlight with his rival.

Devan has outshined Ori since culinary school. He’s beaten Ori at almost every competition they’ve been entered into. The network knows they’re rivals and hopes their hatred for each other will boost the ratings. However, when Ori’s heat hits unexpectedly they both get the surprise of their life.

Ori’s sass really made the banter between Devan and himself completely entertaining. I was totally engrossed in the story. Sometimes you find what you’ve always wanted in the most unexpected places.

Awesome book. For Devan, an outstanding chef and Alpha, he is about to figure out that everything he never wanted or needed is about to hit him head on. Ori, is also an outstanding chef, an omega, and Devan's biggest competition. They swear they hate each other, yet here they are about to embark on a tv reality show together. Their job is to eat at different restuarants and give their opinions and let their hate for each other be the entertainment. That part seemed to backfire, and after one night of steamy hot sex they realize that there is more to the other person them they thought. This book follows their ups and downs of their relationship. Great book with great characters, I also loved that the entire pack makes an appearance.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought it was good. I enjoyed it, although I did feel the relationship was a little rushed. I understand Ori and Devan were fated mates. However, it was like a quick switch was flipped. One minute they were enemies (and had been all their life). The next, they loved each other and couldn't live without the other. I did like that Ori was not a meek and meager omega. He gave Devan a run for his money. Although quick to develop based on the fates, Ori and Devan's relationship was not without its problems. I liked that they were able to work through everything. I'm interested in checking out the previous three books in the series, as well as the next one.

Devan and Ori have been long time rivals and their mutual dislike is about to be put to the test as both men are to host a new food show. The sparks and chemistry between them is off the charts, which will make for a great show. But has their long time rivalry been a cover for their burning attraction all this time?
Thus is a highly entertaining story with unique characters, plenty of tense filled moments, laughs, sparks that rival fireworks, intensely sizzling sexy times, twists, and so much more that leads to a totally unexpected love, and a satisfying HEA.
I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.

Well done! Devan, Alpha expects to remain perennial bachelor runs a podcast. Ori, Omega spent career since school competing with Devan. They hired to co-host a cooking show and the fireworks seem to be the best part of the show. Is their animosity real or hiding deeper feelings? Devon helps Ori out in a 'heat' situation and their relationship 'jumps the shark'. Does enything come of the heat situation? How will they face each other the next day on the show? Can they find a way to get along? Like watching bickering teenagers! Continued great character & relationship development. Nice friends making appearances. Absolutely enjoyable story. Excellent series! I received an ARC from Booksprout to review this story.

Devan is on his way to becoming a celebrity chef. He has made a name for himself through cooking competitions and designing outstanding recipes. Throughout the competitions, he has had to deal with an obnoxious, flamboyant omega named Ori. Now he has been offered a cooking show that could take his career to the next level. The catch, he is teamed with Ori and must spend his time going to eat with him as they critique the experience and food. When Ori needs Devan's help to make it to their final show of the season they are suddenly faced with the surprising truth that they really don't hate each other, that in fact, they are on the flip side of hate. Devan and Ori must adjust their mindset on numerous issues before they become the TV stars they want to be.

Ha ha haha! From the first paragraph there is so much sass I can't stand it! It is a "he said, he said "of one-upmanship and witty, snarky comments. Lol. Devan texts Ori, "I'm bored." Ori responds, "Try jerking off." Ori lives his life with the top down, driving full throttle in his powder blue vintage Mustang. So when he loves, it is with his entire being. And his sassy mouth. I face palmed when Devan is on his knees, groveling and Ori tells him, "Get up off the ground. You look like an idiot." Hahaha, he is so extra.

Smexy and super funny. I snickered and smiled my way all the way through.

Loved the story. Two men who are sworn enemies are brought together to star in a taste testing tv show with the main attraction being their dislike towards each other. This works, rating are high and then one night Ori, an omega, goes into heat and Devan, an alpha, agrees to relieve his sexual heat. The surprise to both of them is that Devan knots him which is only suppose to happen to fated mates. From here it gets interesting and finally takes a turn for the best giving them a HEA but not before words are said that creates tension between them. This is a great quick read and I would highly recommend it.

Alpha Devan Puckett and Omega Ori Wilson are rival food Vloggers but fate can be strange.
Devan was excited to get a food program but the fly in the ointment was he was sharing it with his arch rival Ori Wilson. The show starts fine with them sparking of one another but then they have to share a room things start to change. Ori goes into heat and Devan has to help him but when he knots Ori they realize they are fated mates then later he gives Ori a mating bit sealing them together. The pair struggle to go from rivals to a couple.A MM MPreg romance to relax and enjoy.

One episode has them sharing a room at the hotel they are featuring. Unfortunately Ori goes into heat and there's only one way to fix that. Devan. Who knots Ori showing that they're fated mates and Ori ends up pregnant. As per usual they run into bumps and misunderstanding with each other. In the end they get their HEA. Incredible book

Loved this enemies to lovers mpreg m/m romance. This is the fourth book in this series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Devan has to work on his new dream job with his nemesis. The nemesis happens to be his fated mate. Something they both learn when Ori goes into heat. They both must learn to forgive and forget and so they can raise their new pup in a healthy family. And they both learn that they might not hate each as they once thought.

Loved this book from beginning to end. It’s sweet and funny and you can’t help but fall in love with Ori and Devan.

2 celebrity chefs, one wolf alpha and one omega, rivals since they were in culinary school together. When they were asked to do a reality show together, evaluating different kinds of restaurants, they hesitated, but agreed, neither keen on the other one.
One day they find out that the explosive chemistry between them could stem from a different reason - they are fated mates.
The story is about coming to terms with the situation and their adjustment to the new situation. An interesting story with a believable plot.

Devan and Ori are rival cooks they have been rival cooks from the start but this time Ori isn’t going to let Devan best him again. They get paired together for a cooking show they argue and bicker about the smallest things but the fans love it, but before a shoot of the show Ori goes into his heat and if Devan doesn’t help Ori through it then they won’t be able to do the show the next day but when Devan knots Ori they find out that they are fated mates. I loved this story it’s full of emotion and the guys are hilarious together it’s a love / hate / hate / love relationship, this is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

The forth instalment from the Howling Hills Heat series. This book centres on famous chef Devan and his rival, equally famous, Ori. They have a fierce rivalry and constantly compete with each other to be the best. Then the network contracts them both to work on a food show, going to different restaurants and giving critiques. Taste Buds becomes an instant success and their constant bickering adds excitement to the show. Then suddenly after a night of passion it all comes tumbling down.

Ori and Devan have been made Co hosts on a food show, the only problem is they can't stand each other and bicker constantly.
Devon is calm and proper, Ori is gaudy and mouthy. They contridict each other and talk over each other, the network thinks this will make for good TV.
Well if they don't kill each other first.
This book is funny, with great characters. You will enjoy this story.

Nice addition to the series. I like Ori's spunky attitude. Devan made some huge errors and it seemed that Ori was a little too quick to forgive. I loved how the entire pack showed up for the baby shower. I would've liked to have seen why Ori and Devan fell for each other. What made them open their eyes and what did they notice about the other that made them fall in love? There are some fabulous moments and super spicy ones. I'm looking forward to seeing them in the next book.

This is the fourth book in this series and they all have been great. This story is about Devan and Ori. They are competitors and they hate each other. They are put together to work on a new cooking show. How will they make this work. Will they be able to put their differences a side and make this work on more levels then one. The story will keep you interested till the end.

So much fun to read

I love this trope, and it was great to see that both Ori and Devan felt animosity against the other at the beginning of this book. I felt that we didn't get enough of their being enemies before they became lovers, but it didn't detract from the story.

The one thing that I find a bit confusing about this whole series is how the characters in these books are all in the same pack, but the pack only very rarely seems to be in contact with each other.
