Fantastic fifth book in the 'David Rivers' series!! Action, adventure, betrayal and relying on your Team to get through everything thrown at you!! This is such an excellent character, the thrills and results of using everything you have learned in life and your own gut instinct to keep yourself and others safe from any consequences of evil minds...
This author takes you into some amazing scenes, in places you have never been, but can see and feel everything so clearly! If you enjoy a great adventure, a character with smarts, know how and military learned instincts, this series is a Must for you!!
I received an ARC from author Jason Kasper, who I thank for another amazing adventure, and I put my thoughts in this review hoping You will Feel the Excitement!!

Wow, this is one wild ride in this series. The Suicide Cartel by Jason Kasper is another masterpiece by this for me new author and I will actually take a break before I read the last one in this first series about David Rivers. I must say I keep getting surprised by each new book I read about Rivers. I started this book late last night and didn't turn off the light until it was finished.

The action continues in Jason Kasper's American Mercenary series. In the penultimate entry, The Suicide Cartel, David Rivers has thwarted another assassination attempt on The Handler. His reward: taking command of an Outfit team sent to the Triple Frontier region to wage war on the South American crime syndicate that had attempted to assassinate Parvaneh, an Organization ambassador and the Handler's daughter.

Rivers quickly discovered that the Handler has designs kept close to the chest, as usual, and that the lives of Rivers and his men are at risk. Alone in the jungle with no backup and enemies on all fronts, Rivers is forced to use his wits in a desperate attempt to keep himself and his teammates alive.

Another fantastic entry with excellent dialogue and gripping action. Jason Kasper is a master and his work is highly recommended to fans of the genre!

Well, I have to agree with reviewers quicker to post than me - Jason Kasper is getting better at an exponential rate. Definitely suited for those readers like me who really miss Vince Flynn. Also good for Brad Thor and Lee Child fans. The fifth in the David Rivers series, The author's extensive military experience, both as an enlisted army ranger combat vet, and then a West Point graduate who became a Special Forces officer serving again in combat, make his action scenes and battles come to life. It is hard to read Kasper's books without getting one's heart rate elevated to dangerous levels. He survives, and thrives, when his boss, along with THREE groups of "bad guys", some worse than others, are bent on his destruction. The dialogue sounds genuine. The action is fast-paced and non-stop. This series is best enjoyed in order, because you meet MANY unique and interesting characters to return in Book Five. Much like THE RANGER OBJECTIVE, you really get the "feel" of what it like to be on a covert military mission,, with the colorful visions and smells of the triple-canopy jungle. do not start this on a weekend where your spouse might actually expect you to do something "around the house." Even more than his previous books, this one is IMPOSSIBLE to put down. Strong work, Jason Kasper.

The Suicide Cartel: A High-Stakes Thriller That Will Keep You on Edge

“The Suicide Cartel" is an electrifying thriller that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The book is a David Rivers thriller, and the author has done an excellent job of crafting an intricate and engaging plot that takes the reader on a wild ride through the dangerous world of drug cartels and international espionage.

The story follows David Rivers, a former soldier turned private investigator, as he is hired to investigate a string of suicides that all seem to be connected to a powerful drug cartel. As he delves deeper into the case, he discovers a web of corruption and violence that threatens to consume him and everyone he cares about.

The characters in the book are well-developed and complex, and the author does a great job of making you care about them and their fates. The action scenes are intense and well-written, and the pacing of the story is spot-on, never letting up for a moment.

Overall, "The Suicide Cartel" is an excellent thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. If you're a fan of fast-paced action and high-stakes drama, then this book is definitely worth a read.

Coming near full circle

It is difficult to find words that describe this fifth book better than saying that David Rivers has come nearly full circle with this “mission” he was to lead, one in which we’re seeing characters again that we thought we would never see again. All this with a gigantic load of action!

What will the last book of the series bring? Now that is the question...

Lotsa action!

The Suicide Cartel is Book 5 of the American Mercenary series. It must be read in order.

There is so much action! It's non-stop and fast-paced and the combat is eerily real. The characters are incredibly engaging. The storyline is incredibly twisty. There are surprises around every corner!

I would absolutely recommend this book for any adult due to mature content. I'm headed for Book 6 now!

Good Story, Lots of Action — BUT — Shortailed at the End

WHY do some authors feel the absolute need to sever the end of their stories, to try and deliberately lead into the next book?!? It’s ridiculous, and an insult to the Reader!!! Truthfully, GOOD authors do NOT need to use this tactic.

Great Book!

This is the best book in the series. Rivers is back as the head of a small team dropped into the Jungles of Argentina. The team is hunted from the moment they land. Jam packed action continues to the end of the book. Read this book.

Loved them all

A hint for revenge against it after one man, the handler. David followed the leads to one person he could not seem to kill. I really hope there is another book to end this series.

The suicide cartel

Continuation of the series but in a more interesting tale than most of the others. Excellent narratives on the jungle movement and the battles between the various groups.

Great action, convoluted plot

Action sequences as good as they get. Interesting characters with depth. But mind numbing plot distortions are becoming more difficult to endure in book 5.

New bonds

Enjoyed the new characters and relationships built in this story, there were even some warm fuzzy moments for David, yet there was no pause in the action for him and the wild ride continues!

Great 5th book in the series. Starts out seemingly straight forward but then the twists and turns start. Much deception and betrayal. David survives again to fight another day.

The continuation of a Coaster Ride!

Without a doubt an original story not like what’s out there now. Again, I would start from the beginning with book #1. The books are all page turners, no disappointment to be found. I highly recommend!

Continued growth

It's great to see the continued maturity and healthy long term decision making that David showed in this story. He had a chance to show grit and compassion and did an admirable job with both. Can't wait to see where he goes next!

We’re getting back to working a team concept which is rolling the series into what I was expecting initially. It just took some time to come to fruition. Research as always is excellent, kits and equipment are realistic. Think by the time I get to the final book I’ll be where I am hoping it comes together. We just need to get the whole team in one location.
The description of traversing the jungle was excellent. VR, Mags
