I absolutely love this series, I love growing through the journey between these five amazing friends and how they each find their love

Lena's story is completely different to any of the group. She is confident, she's loud and she's crazy about soccer ⚽️.
She's in her senior year, and she is hoping to be noticed by someone so she can play soccer at college when she graduates.

But most importantly she loves spending time with her BFFs and also her best guy friend, Ian.

Ian has always been her greatest supporter in soccer, together they compete in the teams but they are both Yin and Yan when it comes to soccer.
And Lena loves being with Ian. But ever since he started dating someone, they have hardly gotten to hang out as much.
But when they broke up, Lena is sad for him, but happy she can get to spend more time with him. But Ian isn't truly over her, he wants his ex back. And he comes up with a plan, make his ex jealous by having a fake relationship with Lena

Lena isn't sure she should do it but she has never seen Ian but as a friend.
But what will she do when she starts developing feelings for Ian? Will it turn real? Or will that destroy their friendship ?

If you love your sports, you'll love this new novel! It's fun and Lena is crazy funny to read about!

Received a copy from the author herself, for an honest review, thank you!

If I had to read "for funsies" one more time, I was going to throw my Kindle across the room! It was just so juvenile.

Other than that, I mostly enjoyed the book. This story combines two cliche tropes, the friends-to-lovers AND the fake relationship plots. I liked it, didn't love it.

I did like seeing more of Lena. From the previous books, we get to see some of her big personality, so it was nice to see a new side of her. I would have liked a little interaction with her siblings. They seem to play a big part of her life in the previous books, but we really don't see them.

I wish we got a little more about Ian. He was just kind of there. He said his relationship with his ex was complicated but we never really got to know how.

I did not love that Lena was crying and yelling at Ian for talking to Bethany. She knew what she signed up for. I understand she was hurt, but it seems a little possessive at this stage of their fake relationship.

What happened the first few months of school?! Harper's book ended at the end of summer, then all of a sudden it's a few months later? Maybe it is because there wasn't really a large gap like that between other stories, but it just seemed odd. I want to know how the year started for everyone.

A couple of pet peeves of this book:
•They were best friends. How did their parents not know each other?! Sure, they were mostly friends of convenience because of soccer, but if they were as close as they say they were, their parents would at least know about the other.
•The chapter outlining their fake relationship was To All the Boys I've Loved Before almost to a T. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE those books, but it was too similar, down to the "I'll write you notes and put them in your back pocket". That part was not necessary. Not to mention, he only wrote one note.
•In regards to Lena getting scouted...If she was as good as they make her out to be, she would have been scouted and probably committed WAY before senior year. Colleges scout sophomore and juniors, not many seniors.
•Along that line, a college scout would NOT represent multiple colleges. It would be too crazy. I'm a sure the author did this so not to write about a specific college, she could have made one up. Plus, she already referenced specific colleges in Ella's story.
•The Coach would/could not coach both the girls and boys teams. Sometimes both teams play at the same time, and he could not be there for both. Along with that, they would not practice together everyday. Maybe once or twice but not everyday. Girls and boys soccer are very different. (I am not saying one if better/tougher than the other, they are just different). Not to mention that he wouldn't want to deal with all the drama of them practicing together.
•Soccer playoffs and finals are usually near November. i just find it odd that Homecoming is not until then.

Cute, just didn't love it as much as the others.

Can't believe I forgot about finishing this series off - lol, oh well. It's happening now.

#TheBoyfriendDare is the fourth book in the #BestFriendsForever series. In it, you will meet Lena and Ian. Lena has never kissed a guy and Ian wants his ex back. So these two being together wouldn't cause any problems, right?

I mean what relationship doesn't start off the bat with a dare? Especially when Ian dares Lena to be his fake girlfriend. It was a bit laughable but since it's YA - I went with it. These two were utterly adorable. I loved getting to know them a bit better and seeing all the characters again.

Overall, it was a bit predictable but still cute anyways. Can't wait to finish this series.

I really fell into this book. I am a soccer player like Lena, so I would get shivers when ever she scored. I loved how she is a positive person, always cheering up her friends, helping them become the best person they can be. And that’s also why when she was heartbroken I wanted to cry. She is such a good person, she didn’t deserve to be heart broken. Luckily her and Ian got back together, but it was still sad. My favorite part of the book is probably the last goal in the state championship. In most books about soccer the authors don’t really know what they are talking about, but Yesenia Vargas really knows what she’s talking about. The rush of adrenaline, cleats pounding on the grass, she described the feeling perfectly. I really liked this book, would recommend it to 12+. (Btw I’m tired of people saying bad stuff to me because of what I thought of a book. I know everyone has there opinions, I know you might not agree with me, so if you don’t agree write your own review about what you think. Don’t say anything in comments if it isn’t kind, necessary, or helpful. On that note, I can’t remember who said it, but someone commented on how good my review was for the hunger games and it made my day. Thank you so much!!)

****Yes, there will be a few or a lot of spoilers in this review****

Okay! Ian got on my nerve for 1.5 seconds well more than that. I wanted to slap him because of how he treated Selena... especially when the rumors happen about him, and Bethany was getting back together (in my Taylor Swift voice)... & then what happened a homecoming... I was like no he didn’t know when he was the one to drag Lena into that FAKE relationship and told her he didn’t want Bethany anymore...

At that point I was like Ian better apologize to Lena; and that he did with that text at 3ish in the morning! I was glad he and Selena had that talk and both admitted their truths about wanting to be together and it not being a fake relationship anymore. & with Ian confessing his true feelings about always liking her... I was like about time. & at the end, I was like yasss. It’s going to be a story about Rey, I been looking for that book too. But found out her story coming soon which I can’t wait. I am counting down these days with also checking the author group on FB!!!

Okay, I actually really liked this one. Like 5 stars worthy liked this one.
I actually... cried in this one guys... One moment I was fine then the next I start feeling what Lena is feeling with the water works and I just bawled like a baby. I never expected that to happen in this series, but this author as the series goes on just got more serious and better. Like wow.
I thought first Ella with her online best friend would be my fave, but then Tori comes in with the new nerdy kid making me swoon, but then Harper comes in with her bad boy and it makes me even more swoon, and NOW Lena with her guy best friend with all of the feeeels.
And now I got Rey’s POV coming up oh gosh...
i might need a bucket of ice cream for when I finish this series, I have become too attached... help me... xD

Okay, so this was really good. Another step in the right direction. However, I just wish that we had Ian’s point of view for this novel. I feel like we didn’t get the whole story. Like I missed the turning point with him and key things between Lena and Ian. Also, I noticed a few typos. I’m excited for Rey’s book it sounds like it will be good. I give this a 4.2

What a cute book. I really like reading this series about a group of high school friends discovering who they truly are and finding love. This one was about Selena (Lena, for short).

I can relate to Lena. (I love baseball/softball and soccer & played both in high school and as an adult). Lena is outgoing, loves soccer, and never chickens out on a dare (especially in a game of truth or dare). She is focused on her love of soccer and getting scouts to notice her for a possible college scholarship.

Most of all, she loves spending time with her BFF's and her favorite guy friend and fellow soccer player, Ian. They developed this routine before games to psych each other up to do their best. Ian went from being a quiet, short, chunky freshman to WOAH...Where did those muscles come from?

Lena and Ian are so comfortable with each other as friends, even when Ian is in a relationship with a girl that Lena doesn't really care for, but is supportive of Ian anyway. When Ian gets dumped, he is heartbroken and wants his ex back. So he asked Lena on a dare to pretend to be his fake girlfriend so he can make his ex jealous. This is where the feelings start developing. Spoiler****Turns out Ian has loved Lena the whole time he's known her. So sweet! ;)

This was a clean, cute high school romance book. As an adult, I know that falling in love is never this easy as the author makes it in these books...I wish I still kept in contact with my high school friends. Life happens. However, i really enjoy this series. The writing style is easy to follow and has a great story line to make me feel as I was reading-feelings of joy, sadness, laughter, empathy. I liked how the author portrayed Lena-the strongest individual can become vulnerable at times too. On to the next book-Rey's book.

He snapped his fingers. “And we should write notes and stuff. Not just the usual texting. We should go old school, don’t you think?”

The butterflies in my stomach made me feel nervous, like maybe this fake relationship was becoming a little too real.

He hardly contained his smile. “Lena, I hope I’m not being too forward, but can I score a date to Homecoming with you?”

“Lena, you don’t even know how long I’ve been in love with you,” Ian said.

“Maybe Cupid will finally remember to find someone for me,” she teased.

Rey’s thoughts interrupted my own. “It’s weird to even think about having a boyfriend. It just doesn’t feel like it could ever happen for me, you know?” I gave her a side hug. “Rey, of course, it’ll happen for you. And when you least expect it.”

A cute, fun, light read. I wish that we got Ian’s point of view. I would have loved to see when was the turning point for Ian. I love fake dating/relationships, and this book had it. It wasn’t the best fake dating book that I read but it wasn’t the worst either. Giving this book 3.5 stars.

I'm disappointed because in the previous books Lena was portrayed in a very different way compared to how she was during this. I expected a very different book.

The villain of this book only appeared in about four scenes that I can remember, so most of the book is Lena being angsty about this other chick without her even appearing on the page. Also, given the amount of grammar and spelling errors, I assume this book missed an editing stage or three.

(I'm just copying and pasting reviews to all the books of the series, I've read all the books the past 2 days and they all have blended in with each other)

I liked that it was a very quick easy read, the writing was well done. I do believe that this author has great talent, and she did really well with what she did.

My thoughts are a little divided on this:

My pre-teen avid reader self would have loved this entire series. It was easy to read, quick, very clean, very cheesy, what my boy crazy naïve self would have daydreamed, seeing a hot guy across the room, falling madly in love and living happily ever after (or whatever scenario this book in the series had). I had a group of friends through school and imagined we'd be #BFF for always and ever, and same with the hot guy who would love me forever.

My adult self rolled her eyes the entire time. The subject matter was juvenile and naïve. It was cheesy, perfect for a pre-teen but as an adult with life experience and jadedness, I just wanted shake the characters and tell them all about the drama and tears that will inevitably happen. I'm still friends with my group of friends I had from elementary school through high school, but then real life happened, I haven't seen any of them in person in about 15 years, though we still facebook and marco polo and say hi every now and then, but it's nothing like the #BFF of the books. How sad am I that I could sit there and scoff at all the lovely roses and beauty of the series.

I rated this book based on writing, and tried to put myself in a less jaded persons shoes, and the series was pretty great.

book 4 of this series was definitely one of my favorites, which is Lena and Ian's story. it kind of had the same premises as to all the boys ive loved before but it wasnt the exact same story. this one is about a girl and a guy who pretend to be together to help him get his ex back - which is where the similarity is, but these two are close friends who both eventually realize they are hiding their real feelings behind the fake relationship dare.

it was definitely a quick, easy read that i enjoyed a lot and looking forward to the next one.

Lena is everything that I am not. Outgoing and confident and so talented. Her love for soccer is amazing. The dedication she puts into it is inspiring. Her friendship with Ian is a special part of her successes on the field. They have a whole routine and really seem to ignite something in each other. All of that is put in jeopardy, when in trying to make Ian feel better after being dumped, Lena convinced everyone to play a game of Truth or Dare. She didn't expect to be dared to kiss Ian, or that it would feel so unlike all the other kisses she's shared with boys, just for funsies. Then Ian get a bright idea to pretend to date Lena to make his ex jealous and Lena is not prepared for what she starts to feel. This book was incredible and the friendship between the #BFFS is getting even better and stronger even with the end of high school staring them down. So excited to keep reading more, but also sad that all of their stories are almost done for me to enjoy.

Love this series!!

Seriously this is one amazing series and this book I completely fell in love with. Lena and Ian have been best friends for a while and she likes it that way. Until Ian dares her to be his fake girlfriend. Things are ok in the beginning but actual feelings develop and now both are afraid to say anything. Of course they have their problems and self doubts but their feelings dont change. I absolutely loved how they both put their selves out there to each other and they were just so perfect for one another!!! I also loved how everyone is there for each other and its an amazing support group!!!

I loved this book!
Lena always came off as the confident sports athlete. Reading her story I was able to see her as regular human being. I was also able to understand her background, having Mexican parents myself. I was able to relate to her in that aspect and I enjoyed seeing the #BFFs in this book. I do have to admit that I did get frustrated with Ian throughout this book with his mixed signals. I wanted to knock some sense into him. I love how the story ended and I can't wait to read the next book.

Another great addition to this amazing series!! I started off the year reading this series and it reignited my love for reading. It’s pretty nice to follow each of the girls personal journeys and see how no matter what they are always there for each other as a group. As a reader you become fully invested in the story and part their tight knit group, a silent #BFF :).

Lena’s story shows how even the people with the strongest personalities can also be vulnerable and unsure of themselves sometimes and how wonderful it is when you can also count on your friends <3.

Picked this book up-4th in the series-and couldn’t put it down. 4 hours straight, literally, and I was done with book four and feeling completely happy once again. Roller coaster of emotions for Lena in this one left me happy by the end. I was happy to hear her story, as she’s always been the more energetic, loud one of the group. Another page turner and kept me smiling, getting to see the personalities of the other #BFFs from the other books. Excellent tie-ins and can’t wait to read Rey’s book next!

When Kissing Becomes Real

I absolutely loved Lena’s story! From the moment I read that it was going to be a fake relationship I just knew it was gonna be good.
Fake relationships are another one of my favourites to read and Lena and Ian’s was so good 😍, i loved every minute of them together. I loved watching them try and navigate their “relationship”, working out what was real and what was fake. I was so rooting for them to finally admit their feelings for each!
I can’t wait to read Rey’s book!!

3 estrellas.

Ok this was fun!! More than the others. Lena is so alive as a character. She brings about life to everything around her I feel. She's loud and extroverted. She doesn't mince her words. Also she's a player. Seeing her melt for a sweet calm guy was just adorable. Ian is perfect for her, except it was a little stupid of him to keep pining after his ex. I don't like people who pine after stupid people! Ugh! Unless they're pining for their soulmates.
But he finally realizes his ex was a dumb person and gets back with Lena. I loved the grovelling. Not much but just enough for a sweet clean teen drama.

Ahhh soo good

I love a good fake to real relationship story!.
Im so sad to have come to the end of these books ( i accidentally started on book 5 and had to go back to 1 and work my way to here).
But they were all so good!! I would 100% re - read these. And am going to look at what else the author has published.
But this book was so good sweet sassy. Shows a good build off a already prospering relashionship and peraonal change. And how to deal with those feelings developing.

Book 4 in the BFF series. This time we have Lena and Ian's story. They have been friends for awhile now. Things change when Lena kisses Ian during a game of truth or dare. A real game changer!
Where are they heading after this?
Cute YA read.Suitable for teens and the young at heart.

Best-friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and I read this cute YA story in one sitting.
I just adore the #BFF series!
It's always fun to get to know one of the girls better - and Lena's family, especially her dad <3, were great supporting characters.
And I like that Ian is one of the good - if somewhat waffling - guys.

Great story

With each of the books in this series so far, I've wished to see something from the guys' POV, to know what's going on in their heads. But I really wished to know what Ian was thinking more than any of the others. I enjoyed reading about Lena and Ian and I'm curious about what will happen with Rey in her story.

What was that? I kind of liked the MCs at the beggining, but the end was so rushed that it didn't felt right for me. We don't know why he was "back" with his crazy ex (did he lie to her? Why? It was never explained!). And things just didn't add up.

Besides that, I think they have a certain charisma and Ian would be a perfect characters if the plot was worked more

A rollercoaster of emotions.

I loved this story. As soon as I started reading I fell into the book and didn't want to come back to the real world. The main characters are so relatable. The story had me laughing, crying, and smiling.
