We all know the benefits of healthy eating, but in practice, it’s often just not compatible with a busy, working lifestyle. This book contains excellent practical, real-world food advice for busy business owners or work professionals.
I'm a big fan of Graham Allcott's work in the productivity space, and this book is a collaboration between Allcott and wellbeing expert Collette Heneghan.
It's the perfect combination of productivity advice for busy people who want to eat healthily on the move.
There are chapters on becoming label savvy when supermarket shipping, how to eat nutriously when travelling and hotels and restaurants, plus easy to follow recipes and regular meal suggestions.
If you feel that you're "too busy" to eat healthily, then I've found this book will change your perspective of something that could feel like a chore, into something that will feel natural and leave you more energetic and productive!
Not a bad book, I would actually suggest that to a few people who struggle with food at work and meal prepping for the week. It's just that for those of us who already know a bit more than the basics, there's nothing new. I could also argue about the validity of some of the research behind certain nutrient claims, but overall there are no scams or anything dangerous promoted so I'm willing to turn a blind eye if this helps people being more conscious about food choices.
Very interesting book with an exclusive focus on how food can boost our productivity, performances, and focus. I definitely recommend it to all who want to have a clearer picture of how the food we eat can affect our brain and body. It was just another side of the whole health matter that I was not aware of until I read this book. Also, a big plus is that the authors don’t limit themselves to the theories, but actually provide the reader with examples, recipes, and ideas about what to cook and when is better to eat it.
Consistency matters more than intensity! Eating well should not be burdensome. Take it easy and take it one step at a time. Its okay to crave that burger or that fat-laden milkshake once in a while! A change should not be too drastic too. As long as you take it easy and consistent, your body will soon adapt to the new regime and eventually eating healthy will become something of unconscious competence!
This book offers clear, concise, and no-nonsense advice with a strong emphasis on practicality. I loved it. There is also no shaming or guilt-tripping if you end up with no food prep or eating out. And there are clear instructions on what to eat in those cases. Food seems to be made to be such a big deal these days - go vegan, go paleo, go keto etc. It's confusing and overwhelming. This book helped me shift my view of food - it's important and it matters, but it does not have to be a big deal. Consistency over intensity.
Since reading the book I've changed my breakfast and lunch habits for the better....I now avoid the mid day energy crash that used to leave me tired and listless in the afternoon
