MY REVIEW: can also be found on my blog:
➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

’ROMA QUEEN’ is the final instalment in Callie Hart’s ‘Roma Royal’s Duet’. Spoken in 'Dual POV's" It picks up right where the first book left off.

After ‘Roma King’ and how it left off, my anticipation levels were high with the need to get my hands on ‘Roma Queen’ and let me tell you this book here did not disappoint, many twists and turns kept me glued to my iPad right up till the end.

Quick catch up: In Roma King we fell in love with these two star crossed lovers, neither knew of the other, they had never met, but they mysteriously dreamt about the other in dream form which occurred for many years. Over the years, whenever I've woken up and tried to wrap my head around her, she's evaporated into thin air, slipping through my fingers like grains of sand through an hour glass. Now, she's a tangible, living, breathing thing. The adventure started off with a 911 call outside Zara’s apartment which led Zara to a mysterious Midnight Fair trying to save a wee boy from the clutches of a killer. A series of events led Zara and Pasha into each others arms.

And it ends with the ringing of the phone outside of Zara’s apartment again, only this time Pasha picks up and he’s been given instructions to follow. The man on the other end of the line, Lazlo has murdered a small innocent young boy, and now apparently he has Zara’s friend Sarah. Now it’s a race against time to find Lazlo and rescue Sarah before she meets her fate like the wee boy. Many years ago Pasha had thought he’d killed Lazlo but apparently not because as it turns out he’s still very much alive and his interest in small boys has apparently not stopped.

A little boy is dead, an aunt I never knew I had is being held captive, and the devil has risen from the dead.

To keep Sarah safe Pasha has to go back to his roma family and accept the crown, and try and get his people to vote him back in as their King subsequently taking the reins off his mother. He's never wanted the responsibility his family have tried to lay on his shoulders.

Last chance to f#ck a prince," Pasha rumbles.
"Oh yeah? I'm pretty sure f#cking a king will be much the same."
"Hell no. F#cking a king is wa worse. They're super eintitled. They know they've reached the top of their game, so they don't have to try any more. Things are only gonna go downhill from here, Firefly."

It's not going to be an easy ride for starters he'd turned his back on his family for three years when he was banished for apparently killing a man, and then he's brought a stranger into the mix, he's going to have a tough time convincing them to vote for him.

These two were perfect together, she was tough, a fire cracker, he's a smoking hot, fighter, together they ignited off the pages with their passion.

I enjoyed ‘Roma King’ but I loved ‘Roma Queen.’ The author pulled out all the stops and gave us more of everything!! A slow burn that quickly ignited, I loved everything about this book. All those niggly questions that were left unanswered in book#1 get answered and we get caught up to speed with everything. Such a unique, unputdownable duet, I’m sad that this has come to an end.🖤

With time is running out, Pasha Rivin and Zara Llewelyn are searching for answers that will bring them closer to finding the truth. Knowing his Roma is at stake, Pasha bears the burden of his obligations, but he also tries to find balance in what he knows in his heart. As for Zara, she is ready to fight and stand beside her King, however, she isn’t prepared for the level of manipulation that pervades the landscape.

“We come out here because it’s hard, and doing things that are hard makes us strong. Not everything in life is supposed to be easy, Firefly.”

Alternating in dual POV, this steadily building plot is loaded with twists and turns. While Pasha and Zara are working as a team, the stakes are continually raised leaving them to wonder what danger lurks ahead. Wanting to protect Zara, Pasha is willing to take risks but he also knows that Zara will not stand down. As such, this constant friction adds to their combustibility.

“Touch me. Kiss me. Fuck me,” I whisper. “Make me lose myself in you. I want to forget where you end and I begin.”

The theme of the Roma being gypsies is an intriguing lifestyle to me, especially how the clan governs itself and has a strong tie of unity. Both Pasha and Zara have strong personalities and accept each other without sacrifice. The secondary characters continued to shine in this second volume by adding dimension and a deluded villain to the plot. For me, the first half was a bit stilted, but after the midway mark, the narrative became its own force by offering tension and becoming much more layered.

Roma Queen is a romance suspense that offers vengeful twists to the very end. This book will appeal to those who want action, mystery and romance.

He is the most beautiful, savage creature I have ever seen.

I’m always left floating within the clouds, charged with adrenaline and sighing in pure, utter bliss after finishing anything by Callie Hart. I wanted to devour this intricate duet wholly, yet pulled myself back to savour this riveting tale that concluded in both compelling and captivating ways. Roma Queen left me awed, my eyes wide from learning revelations and discovering totally unexpected connections.

Our eyes meet, and so much passes between us: I’m proud of you. I’m amazed by you. I’m here for you. I will never fucking leave you.

Zara and Pasha are entwined, their relationship a unique connection bound together by certain, unforeseeable circumstances. When a past face resurfaces, testing this newfound couple’s strength, no matter the difficulties and adversities that appear, Zara and Pasha are unwavering—an unstoppable force prepared to do everything necessary to keep those they love safe.

“Touch me. Kiss me. Fuck me,” I whisper. “Make me lose myself in you. I want to forget where you end and I begin.”

I didn’t just adore every single moment—I absorbed every facet of this heart-stropping, jaw-dropping and toe-curling narrative. It is heated and passionate, with many turns and twists to keep your interest piqued. Questions are answered and shocking truths are unveiled. I wasn’t certain where this would head, only that Callie Hart’s signature anti-hero and brand of sassy, witty heroine would continue to capture my heart!

Everything about Roma Queen is emotionally satisfying. If you love dangerous anti-heroes, strong heroines and darkness in your romance, you need to read this duet, especially if Zeth Mayfair is your favourite Callie Hart hero. Watch out, Mr. Mayfair—Pasha Rivin might dethrone you.

Roma Queen is book 2 in the Roma Royals Duet and picks up where book 1 left off. Unfortunately this Duet was my least favorite from this author. The first 50% was boring and while the second half was definitely better and faster paced the overall feel was just flat for me. I guess my main issue is that Ms. Hart writes some of the most delicious dangerous men, I feel they are confident although most are plagued with demons from the past. I found that was lacking in Pasha, while I was told he was dangerous there was no evidence that he was. To me he was just a man reluctant to take his place in the family. Zara was just blah, she did try to be tough but I wasn't impressed. So when it comes to them as a couple they weren't exciting and from book 1 I never felt a connection. Now for the twist and betrayal, that was really good. I can honestly say I didn't see that coming. Although this Duet didn't work for me, as always I look forward to what this author comes out with next.

First off the opening words here were just so tragic, really hurting my heart with the hopelessness they projected.
So this is the second book in the series and book 1 needs to be read first and since it's been a while for me I did a reread just to refresh my memory somewhat.
This started off right where we left things previously and what I especially liked about this was the lack of game playing and artifice.
When it came to Pasha and Zara's connection there was just such an openness and ultimate honesty on both sides it was really refreshing.
Add into the mix their explosive chemistry and the filthy whispered promises and I was a complete gonna for them for sure.
This was again heavy on the suspense and intrigue and Pasha finds himself taking his firefly back to his roots to meet his kin and finally embracing his own foretold destiny.
This was gripping and suspenseful and ever so sexy the language used between Pasha and Zara was smoking and a bucket of water was needed after indulging.
There were shocks with a betrayal and a satisfying finale, highly recommend this series, it packs a serious punch and gets a big thumbs up from me.

Pasha's still mine. I'm not sharing. You can look, but you can't touch. I know that all of you will fall in love with him too, but I'm sorry, you're just gonna have to love him from afar. Callie Hart is constantly creating men to fill up my harem. I can't get enough of him and I never wanted to stop reading his story. He's a phenomenal character who deserved all of the good to be offered in this world.

This contradiction of a man shouldn't even be possible, like he's some sort of supernatural anomaly and I'm the luckiest person in the universe to be lying here, permitted to witness his unlikely existence even for a split second in time. - Zara

I love how the connection between Pasha and Zara only continued to deepen and grow. Their bond was strong enough to withstand just about everything. His family's dissent, the mystery and almost certain peril they faced, and the quickness of their love wouldn't stop them and I loved it.

"You feel like a constant. You're a song I've always known, I can hum you, the sound and the tone and the melody of you filling every single fiber of my being." - Zara

So a madman is making demands, forcing Pasha to face something he thought was in his past. Becoming King of his clan, Pasha isn't sure how the two lives, the Roma life and the life he shares with Zara, will work. Oh and catching the bad guy and saving lives is still a priority. Be prepared for the romance, the suspense, the intensity of the plot, and the heart. Because Pasha has got so much of that. His heart beat throughout this story and I can't wait for you to meet him!

the publishing date is moved onto Feb 15th, 2019.

Once again, Callie Hart proved herself to be a true storyteller, inticating a web of carefully woven lines filled with action, mystery, suspense and hawt carnal affection between the characters.

As we follow the unraveling of the mystery of destined curse and ploy constructed and orchestrated generations and years ago, fulfilling the long cast prophecy and gipsy legacy as well as solving a horrid monstrous acts of an evil man possessed with revenge and menace, it will all come together in a much larger scale connecting two lives into one, for Pasha Rivin and his Roma Queen, Zara Llwelyn

my only remark is that sometimes too muxh details is a bit too much to begin with. I both found the perfection in details of Roma tradition, overwhelming and a bit tiring, keeping me away from focusing on the actual plot, and then when it picked up in action and pacing all went on in a thilling flash.

While the plot was developing and I had read 30% of the book, I was wondering what kind of closure the author would give.
Would Pasha remain as the Roma king or leave everything behind and keep his last lifestyle?
Would Zara follow and stay with the Roma king if he decided to lead his Roma people or move on with her life?
And as I continued, hell started breaking loose! I didn’t see all of this coming!!!
All those twists, revelations and truths unraveling blew me away completely!!!
Roma queen was an unexpectedly surprising read, very well written and with amazing characters!

Sorry Zeth Mayfair but Pasha Rivin just took the crown...wow.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review

I’ve been a fan of Callie’s for as long as I can remember and have ALWAYS loved her books, ALWAYS but this series...love isn’t a strong enough word. This series blew my damn mind, it was everything I hoped it would be and more.

The moment Callie announced this series, I knew without a doubt I would love it, what I didn’t realise was just how much I would. How much it would sink into my soul and captivate me. Pasha and Zara are a phenomenal couple and without a doubt my favourite couple of Callie’s by far.

Book two is so much more than book one but they’re both as equally amazing. Book two explains everything, it has you trying to guess what’s about to happen but leaving you shocked because the opposite happens. I’m not gonna lie, the plot twist in the middle knocked me for six because WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED? I would have never of seen that coming which just goes to show how incredible Callie is as writing.

Pasha and Zara go through a heck of a lot in this book. Some strange and frightening things, things that’ll change their lives forever but they do it side by side and it’s that, that makes them as strong as they are. I’ve never seen a more incredible couple than these two. They were destined to be together, soulmates, just meant to be.

I’m so in awe right now of this book, this series. Callie has once again created a masterpiece and gave life to two phenomenal characters that won’t be easily forgotten. I sure do hope at some point we hear more from these two because getting to see what their future is like would be amazing.

Roma Queen was dark, sexy and delicious. Most definitely one of the BEST BOOKS OF 2019

Oh!
I HATE that i have only give this 3 stars, but my honesty appears to have trumped my fangirl status.
Totally a "it's not you, it's me" moment.

I adored Roma King and was super eager to see where Queen would lead us. I was swept away in their story, in their dreams, in the depravity and passion and devotion and just all of it.

For me, Roma Queen was VERY slow to start. It took me days to get to 50% because my eyes just kept on drooping after having read 3 or 4 pages. I just couldn't get in to it, that usual fire i feel wasnt there.
Then we get to the nitty gritty and the last half of this story flew by! I loved the couple of little nods to Callie's previous work, and am now eagerly awaiting a huge crossover, combining MC and Roma! EEEEK....
Im kind of struggling to find the words i need to explain why this was only 3 stars for me. The second half of the book was better paced and more entertaining than the first. There was so much passion and angst. I adored the fierce quality all of female characters have. Garrett was a joy to witness in this book, he had my heart melting and simultaneously thumping harder than i thought possible.
I just kind of felt as though the branches running off from the main story were quickly dismissed and wrapped in pretty bows to be forgotten under the tree. And the ending... it was the conclusion i was expecting but it was just a bit flat. I wanted more. I wanted a touch more oomph.

Im not saying it's not a good read...fuck no, it, as usual from Callie is brilliantly written with fabulous characters and a strong storyline but for me, execution and expectation let me down.

4.5 ⭐️
Great conclusion to the duet.

I really loved this couple. No games and no unnecessary drama/angst between them as there was enough going on around them to keep the story moving. Their chemistry....whew. Hot, Hot, Hot!! 🔥🔥🔥

I didn't feel like the storyline with Shelta was resolved enough. After everything that was revealed, it felt a little anti climatic with her at the end. Also, a little more closure related to Lazlo would have been good. Given all the harm they inflicted on people (physical, mental, and the overwhelming manipulations) I really wanted to see these two suffer a lot more.

There were some slightly cringe-worthy moments. Yikes - this bad guy was something else. He was one sick dude.

This conclusion had quite a few twists and turns. Lots of things to keep the reader completely engaged. I thoroughly enjoyed not only book two, but on the whole this was a good duet.

Trigger warning: pedophile

Quotes:
“It takes an incredibly strong man to see a fault within himself, and to voluntarily step forward and take responsibility for it. It takes an even stronger woman to do the same.”

“She is mine, and I am hers. She came because I came, and from now on…wherever one of us goes, the other follows.”

“He’s so damn confident all the fucking time. Completely and utterly sure of his place in the world. When he opens his mouth and speaks, there is no doubt or hesitancy in the things that he says.”

“You feel like a constant. You’re a song I’ve always known. I can hum you, the sound and the tone and the melody of you filling every single fiber of my being.”

“On the outside, she’s so fierce, holding a middle finger up to the world, ready to take on any challenge at any given moment. She’s so solid and sure of herself. That all disappears when she’s with me, though. I get to see this side of her. I get to be the reason why her heart beats out of her chest, and her pupils dilate so wide that her eyes are almost swallowed by black.”

“When he whispers things like that to me, so reverently, as if he's making a confession, there is no embarrassment. No shame. My beautiful, open, honest Pasha, who wears his heart on his sleeve. He is a breath of fresh air. A revelation. I wouldn’t have him any other way.”

“I plan on being a good leader. Honest. Kind. Fair in all things. But if anyone even dreams of fucking with my woman, I’m gonna gut them and hang their entrails from a tree like they’re goddamn Christmas decorations.”

“Touch me. Kiss me. Fuck me,” I whisper. “Make me lose myself in you. I want to forget where you end and I begin.”

“I’ve known all along what I’m getting myself into, and I’ve run toward it, head on, with my arms open wide.”

4 stars!

The conclusion to the Roma Royals Duet and whoa, what an ending! The conclusion to Pasha and Zara’s story is suspenseful and exciting with a sexy and passionate romance, and it kept me guessing until the very end. I really enjoyed this one!

You absolutely need to have read Roma King before reading this book, and I’m not going to go into details about the story because you need to read it and experience it for yourself. But this book picks up where the last book left off, and Pasha and Zara are off to find answers to the mysterious events that have been unfolding around them.

It’s a fast-paced, exciting, mysterious and suspenseful ride that is full of twists, turns and big reveals. There’s no way I could have predicted where the story would go, and I love that element of surprise that kept me hypothesising madly all the way through! The book takes us deeper into the Roma community, and into some pretty dark and disturbing places, and it’s not always an easy read but, once again, Callie Hart kept me captivated as it all unfolded.

I loved that we got to learn so much about these characters. We met Pasha as an enigmatic, closed-off badass with a history full of secrets, and while he is still definitely a badass, he’s opening up to Zara and I loved getting know more about him! I especially loved that we got to see his (still very alpha) romantic and playful side.

“I became the person I needed to be to survive. I refuse to regret or feel bad about that. None of it really fucking matters anyway.”
“Why?”
“’Cause at the end of the day…I’m the lucky motherfucker who bagged himself the girl.”

And Zara proved to be an epic badass in her own right! Standing strong both with and without her man, I love her strength, her sass and her bravery, and I love that Pasha embraced that side of her.

“Give me fire any day. Give me a raging argument if you disagree with me. Be braver than me. Be fucking smarter than me. I’ll only love you more for it.”

The romance is gorgeous! Intense, emotional and oh-so-freaking hot! This is a highly passionate couple in every way and together they are absolutely sizzling! And they are blessedly functional - there’s no unnecessary drama, which I loved, and Pasha and Zara are standing strong as a couple as they get to the bottom of the mystery and deal with everything that is being thrown their way.

“I wouldn’t have let you go,” he says. “If you decided we weren’t supposed to be…” He shakes his head, changing tack. “I would have fucking fought for you, Zara. I would have made sure you knew that, for me, this isn’t just real. This is the only thing that’s real. The only thing that matters. Everything else is just white noise.”

This book has some pretty dark themes, and some of the scenes are disturbing. It’s more things that are alluded or referred to than actually seeing it unfold on the page, but it’s still intense and cringeworthy. But it adds to the mood of the overall story and makes Pasha and Zara’s fight even more important as they hunt for the answers they are seeking.

And with Pasha returning home to finally face his family, there are moments of sweetness, humour and dramatic significance as we get to see more of the Roma community, their culture, and the friends and family that he’s been separated from for so long.

It’s a great read that finishes off the Duet really nicely, however there were a few unanswered questions left at the end for me… I would have like just a little bit more info to close off those outlying details. But the main part of the story finishes off really well.

4 stars.

Roma Queen (Roma Royals Duet #2)
By: Callie Hart
4.5 Stars

After the ending of Roma King (Roma Royals Duet #1), I was constantly refreshing my kindle waiting for this one to land. In my head spinning the possibilities of the many ways this Duet could end. Alas, my life is now complete having it land on the kindle and just finished reading this highly anticipated conclusion!

Picking up right where we left off, this book was non-stop with the twist and turns! One reveal after another. Questions that we were left unanswered were tackled and what we were left with was a jaw dropping story!

Pasha and Zara might have met through their dreams, but it was their loyalty to each other that uncovered years and years of lies, deceit, back-stabbing and both of them questioning where the trust remains in the Roma Klan.

The off the chart chemistry between Pasha and Zara is definitely Sham-Wow bloomer worthy! Holy cow, bring me a ice pack to cool off!!!

Can the Roma King and the Gadje woman survive together or will the past continue to haunt them every time the phone in the phone booth rings?

Action packed & thrilling ride- Full speed ahead with captivating narration. It's a unexampled plot treated with seduction and burning passion
I'm so in love with this story, if it was possible to have literary orgasms, I'd be comatose by now! Heat factor is breaking the thermometer and feels factor is pummeling the heart!
Pasha Rivin! A beast of a man....Lionine! Destined for greatness and chosen to be the KING!
he has my heart submitted to His Majesty's soulful words.
“You feel like a constant. You’re a song I’ve always known. I can hum you, the sound and the tone and the melody of you filling every single fiber of my being. I can’t seem to remember the lyrics of you, but every second I spend with you, I’m seeming to figure out where they fit.”

description

First off the name itself is so sexy, thrums my heart as I utter it. It has a majestic ring to it. Coupled with his sexy lush green eyes, drool worthy physique and protective streak...I'm a goner ! Come home to mama shabby *sigh*😍
I’ve been lost and directionless for a long time now.
Now that I’ve found him, Pasha feels like coming home.

The story provides an apt framework for Pasha. He comes barrelling into Zara Llewellyn's life an turns it upside down. She is smitten by him, much to her dismay, cause he's dangerous and mysterious and her priorities are Corey and Sarah and that dang mysterious pay phone booth outside her  apartment building. She just doesn't have time or the inclination, but LOVE surprises her when life is busy making plans.

description

He is a physical need that flows in my blood. He is a burning ache that thrums in my chest. He is a warning, and a plea, and a gunshot in the dark, and I have only one way of responding to him: desperately, fiercely, and with every part of my soul.
Callie wrote Roma King and i had to (reluctantly) evacuate Zeth Mayfair from permanent residency of my heart. What can I say, a sexier alpha just strolled right in and camped with his varda. !
I've always been fascinated with gypsies as my home country-India has many gypsy tribes and of course watching The Gypsy Camp Vanishes Into The Blue. There's an aura of otherworldiness, mystique, and danger  surrounding these people so my excitement was doubled with this duet.
It's written incredibly well, very taut storyline with emphasis on love connection between Zara and pasha, but at no time does the focus from the impending threats and nearing deadlines wanes. All beating on a drumbeat of war that's looming just on the horizon.
The sex scenes are scorching and the chemistry just electrifying. It's like whenever Pasha & Zara are together they form their own gravity field with sparks and magnetism. You cannot help but be pulled into their love orbit!!

description

This kiss is an armed robbery. Like a thief, Pasha takes everything from me as he grinds himself against me, pinning me to the wall of the vardo.
My breath: gone.
My hearing: gone.
All cognitive abilities: gone.
My vision: gone.
My hearing: gone.

The characters are so crystal clear, I had no trouble imagining them. Pasha and Zara are so adorably  in love, they don't know it yet. Shelta, Sarah, Patrin, Cleo, Archie, Garrett, Lazlo, they're all very easily imaginable due to fantastic detailed description and fabulous character sketching. I could feel all the emotions and almost hear their dialects. Shelta fascinated me the most and I hope she and Sarah get their own books sometime. I can't stop at this duet, I need more of the Rivins. I need tarots, magical coin, crystal ball, Vardas, vistas and witness the beheading of Prikoza!!
5 stars for The RomBaro and his Empress

I've been waiting for more of Pasha and Zara, and there is Røma Queen!!! Second and last installment of the series, this opus illustrated the genre Callie Hart excels in: the romantic suspense.

Though the first and last parts of the book had a very different vibe, I enjoyed Pasha's playfulness and almost romantic ways. Wait until that bad boy alpha takes matters into his own hands, and you'll see how much of a King he is.

Zara, always feisty, sometimes reckless and utterly endearing, cracked me up. The romance, the banter and the chemistry between the two of them were amazing. Prophecy, manipulations, duty and Roma laws and traditions gave a pleasant rhythm to the story. I loved being immersed in Pasha's life and culture.

When the pace picked up after the first part, I found myself riveted to the story; I tried to collect the pieces of the bigger picture throughout Røma Queen. With every detail finaly unveiled, when every piece clicked into place, you'll be looking at an astounding

Please, pay attention to the cues, you're in for a treat!

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!

This is a reread and I wish I could say it held up as great as I remember, but it just didn’t. I try not to change my original ratings, but I have to downgrade this to a 3⭐. The biggest issue was the pacing, which was dreadfully slow.

This picks up just after the cliffhanger, but very little happens for the first 50-65% then all the action is packed into the end. I’d also add a trigger warning for child rape/molestation, it’s not on-page but we get the child’s POV which was tough at times.

****Original Review***
Roma Queen by Callie Hart is the second book and conclusion to the Roma Royals duet. Told in dual POV, Roma Queen picks up with that cliffhanger ending from Roma King. Pasha and Zara are racing against time to try and save Sarah. The questions that were left open were slowly answered. Histories were revealed. There were a number of surprises - some bad, some sad and even a couple that were actually good.

Both Pasha and Zara are awesome characters. Pasha might be a tough, tattooed, cage fighting Roma king, but underneath he was a sweety who adores his Zara. I really liked how the two of them never questioned their loyalty towards each other and just worked together to make things happen. The whole roma/gypsy lifestyle was interesting, a subject I knew nothing about which made this book even better and more unique for me.

I was so eager to read this as I enjoyed book #1 soo much!

This was a good book and much needed after the first book but I didn’t LOVE it or got the same feels for book one.

I received an ARC of Roma Queen in exchange for an honest review. So, I'll start with this, "HOLY SMOKES, BATMAN!"
I mean, where do I even begin? First, I loved that the book was longer than anticipated - more good stuff to read. Absolutely ADORE that the main female character is a heroine in her own right, but is equally as comfortable yielding to her love when needed. And she's so damn SMART! And Pasha - WOW! He is definitely a big bad but, like Zara, is totally comfortable yielding to his love and being completely open and honest about his feelings for her.
So much happens in this book, and it was fun trying to piece things together along with Zara & Pasha. And the crossovers and connections?!?! I can but only hope for more in the future. You've got to have read Callie's other books to know just how exciting this is. So, what are you waiting for - read Roma Queen, then go get the rest of her books and fall in love (over and over again)!

I received this as an ARC Kindle edition

As you can tell my my three and a half star rating this was by far not my favorite Callie Hart book. I enjoyed the introduction to the characters and the buildup in the first book. I found that the second one started with too much narration and not enough action and I was getting bored.

I do love Callie's storyline and the way the characters interweave. The little twists towards the end gave the story a major upswing. However, I found the intense vulnerability and over-the-top emotions by the two main characters to be a bit much and too cheesy even for me, the hopeless romantic.

About 35 percent of the way through the book got much better as the action picked up and the storyline finally progresses.

As with the first part of Pasha and Zara’s story in Roma King, I could NOT put this down! I even had a little freak out when my device died in the middle of a chapter and I had to rush for another devise to keep reading.

Both characters were incredible, but Zara was one of the strongest female characters I’ve come across. Even in the face of danger, she stands tall and stares it down and doesn’t let her fear consume her. She brave and bold and everything Pasha would need from someone expected to be by his side as he finally accepts the mantle of leader of the Roma people.

This book was exciting, nerve racking, riveting and kept me on edge until the end...and I loved every moment!

This is the EPIC conclusion to the Roma Royal Duet.

I was a huge fan of Roma King and was so looking forward to this book. In Roma King, you are left a bunch of questions and a whole lot of unknowns. In Roma Queen, you not only get those answers but a whole lot of intricately woven story pieces that even left me with a lot of, "I didn't see that coming!"

Pasha, the meant to be king of the Roma. Dark and dirty, driven and would be closet romantic, knows what he has to do to put things right but getting there is a test all in of itself. He is bringing an outsider into the camp and expected that they will let him be the king like it has been foretold.

Zara, the outsider. The 911 phone operator who never in her wildest dreams thought she would be wound-up into this puzzle is still playing catch up. With her vibrant hair and attitude to match is a wild card in all this. Will she be accepted? Will she stay? Will they make it out of this mess in one piece?

This author has a way about her storytelling that draws me in. The stage had been set in book one, but in book two there is this whole new level of the story. From the Roma camps to the dark tunnels of the underground, Callie puts you right there. I felt the freezing temperatures, the trepidation, the sizzling chemistry. I held my breath awaiting a vote, I bit my nails when the action turned up a notch or ten. I lost a night of sleep because I couldn't put this down. Really a superb ending to this duet. I do hope this is a place we visit in the future because there is something truly fascinating about the whole idea behind the Roma but until we see what is next this duet is something that needs to be checked out.

This was a great conclusion to Zara and Pashas' story. Callie Hart never ceases to amaze me. I always seem to fall head-over-heels with every character the author creates and I totally loved Pasha & Zara and their well-balanced personalities. This duet is so freaking addicting! Absolutely one-click worthy...

Some of the quotes I loved :

“You feel like a constant. You’re a song I’ve always known. I can hum you, the sound and the tone and the melody of you filling every single fiber of my being.”

“Touch me. Kiss me. Fuck me,” I whisper. “Make me lose myself in you. I want to forget where you end and I begin.”

“Be braver than me. Be fuc@ing smarter than me. I’ll only love you more for it.”

So difficult to get into. Do dull and predictable. I wish Hart would just write amazing stand alones and not second or 3rd books that make a story drag on.

Pitty since I enjoyed the first in this series. I was excited for the second but it just flopped. Imagine you build to an exciting ending and then it’s like reading about the leading lady meeting the parents. That’s what it’s felt like so far.

Wow! This book is everything I've come to expect from Callie Hart.
This series brought me back to the feelings I got while reading the Blood and Roses series. The characters are amazing and so well written and find themselves in such unique situations (and there is some mention of characters from other books). Like many of Callie Hart's other series' there were some big twists that I didn't see coming that have a huge impact on the story.
If you're looking for something a little different and a little dark you will enjoy this duet.

The conclusion to The Roma Royals Duet, and what a ride it was. Once again Callie enthrals us with her superb writing and captivating stories.

This book starts where book 1 left off, straight into the action. The chemistry between Pasha and Zara heats up, and you grow to love them more. Through a series of twists and turns, and betrayal we learn the truth and discover whether Pasha will take his place as Roma King.

The cleverly interwoven story of a key character adds another layer and gives a whole new perspective to the characters and their lives.

A fantastic end to a beautiful and mysterious duet!

Second book in the Roma Royal duet.
Honestly, the first half of the book is a little bit slow. I had the same feeling with the first book in this series. It's true that the second part, when all the events are set into motion, I couldn't stop reading. I liked the way all the characters are connected. It was totally unexpected. And I loved the end.
But I struggled a little bit until I got there. A pity.
