this story has always been dear to me ever since i was a child, but interestingly i had never read the book. i'm glad i did. it's a beautiful tale of childhood, friendship, nostalgia and homesickness. Read it if you love the mountains, if you miss them, and if you miss your grandparents.
There were a lot of christian references as well, which i don't really ever enjoy (mostly because they involve children, and i'm against that. If you are christian though and want to teach to your child how to pray, cherish relationships and love nature, then i believe this book is perfect), but it was fine.
(also this editions are so beautiful.)

I read this book to my 8 year old dyslexic daughter who can not read it herself - she rated the book 5 stars. Her favorite character was Uncle Alp because she thought he was very caring. Her favorite part of the book was Clara being able to walk. ♥️

classic tale that I never took the time to read till now and so glad I did. By today's standards, I'm sure it would be considered christian fiction for it's depiction of faith and the gospel message. Wonderful story.

Read this because I had this from some time. Sweet, small, innocent story of Heidi.
Reminded me of the simpler times..
