In It to Win It

Wynn family bonds bend but never break. . . .

“Kelly Jamieson is an auto-buy for me.”—Carly Phillips

JP I admit, I’ve made some bad choices—on and off the ice.
Now all I want to do is show my team I can control my emotions while I’m playing and redeem myself with my family, especially with my brother, Théo.
I hate that I hurt him and I’m determined to stay out of trouble.
But the hot bridesmaid at Théo’s wedding is tempting me into another bad decision.
A little flirting and a hook up with Taylor seem harmless . . . until Manny Martinez jumps me on the dance floor and starts beating the crap out of me.
And just like that I add one more bad decision to my résumé.

Taylor I always thought hockey players were hot. Now I think they’re crazy.
Manny broke my heart when he got traded to another team and left without even a goodbye.
Then he showed up at my best friend’s wedding. All I wanted to do was show Manny that I was over him.
And the groom’s sexy brother, JP, seemed more than willing to be my distraction.
But after the way everything went down, I want nothing to do with any of them.
Easier said than done. Especially when Lacey’s new brother-in-law is always around. . . .
And I keep thinking about the wedding night, when we snuck away to his room for the best sex of my life.

Terrific sports romance!

This book had a lot of heart. Generally the heroine has a bit more angst than the Hero, but in this one the Hero had the lions share. He was also the more likeable character. That isn’t to say that the heroine was unlikeable, buy I thought the Hero, JP Wynn the Hockey Star from a Hockey dynasty was a better character. Taylor, the speech therapist is a good person, but some of her reasons for doing things were silly. She dates someone else for a while when she really likes JP for a really dumb reason.

The two meet at the wedding rehearsal of JP’s brother, Theo who is marrying Taylor’s friend Lacey. JP and Taylor are in the wedding and are attracted to each other and they end up sleeping together that evening and again the following day. JP has some issues with his family due to the fact that his brother Theo has always been smarter than him and held up to him as the perfect son.

JP has always felt that he can’t live up to the perfect standard that Theo sets. For the past year, JP’s family has been angry with him for stealing Theo’s former girlfriend Emma (the one prior to Lacey). They all think it was awful thing for a brother to do, despite the fact that it showed Theo what kind of girl Emma was and allowed him to meet Lacey.

Taylor had been dating a Hockey player named Manny, on the team Theo coaches until Manny got traded and ghosted her. Manny also shows up at the wedding. JP works very hard throughout the story to better himself and though he doesn’t always do the right thing, he is a great guy. The romance is beyond steamy. The side characters are funny and entertaining. I really enjoyed the journey and the fact that JP was willing to do all sorts of out of the box things for a manly hockey player in order to try to work on himself, reduce stress and get in touch with his emotions. Great story.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I like that the author jumped right into JP's story. He was not well liked in book 1 since he stole his brothers girlfriend. We did find out a few truths about that at the end of Theo and Lacey's book that didn't paint JP as bad as you are lead to believe. In fact, we learn a lot about JP in this book that shows there is always more that meets the eye. I like that we learn that JP is actually a really great guy who just doesn't always make the right choice.

Taylor is a girl who believes in love even if she has never experienced it herself. She isn't afraid to put herself out there to find it. She and JP start off on the wrong foot but the undeniable attraction is persistent and it takes a bit for them to find their footing. There is a bit of push and pull in the first half of the book but we do learn a lot about both these characters during this time.

It's not necessary to read book 1 first, however we do get a lot of Theo and Lacey in this book. We also get to see that spark for our next couple in book 3. I really like Everly and Wyatt sounds pretty intriguing.

This book deserves a big glowing review from me...But I'm sorry, I just don't have the time with rl getting in the way...so I'll make it short and sweet.

I loved it from the get-go! The hero--bad boy hockey player and black sheep of the family, JP Wynn ( the one who did his brother Theo wrong in the first book and is continually paying for it), hooks up with Taylor (bf of Lacey from the first book) at a wedding...And it was hawt! Chemistry galore. But then her ex shows up at the wedding, and uh-oh, did he just steal another man's girlfriend--AGAIN? This goes against everything JP vowed to avoid--no more emotional/bad decisions. It's time to straighten out your life and be responsible for once.

I won't go on. JP and Taylor were made for each other, so I urge everyone to take the time and invest in their story. It was all consuming for me. So hot. Such a redemption for JP. So Taylor got on my nerves a bit a few times...it didn't matter in the end. I loved their story and loved them. If only there was more of an epilogue (sigh)...
Maybe there will be an update in the next book...

JP is truly a bad boy because he stole my heart!!!! Have you read the first book in the series yet? We met both JP and Taylor in Play to Win and while each book can be read as a standalone I would suggest reading the prior book so you can meet both JP and Taylor and see what has been going on with their lives and have brought them to where they are today and it would also give you some background on a pretty big scene that happens at JP's brother Théo's wedding. But as I said previously it can totally be read as a standalone if that is what you wish to do.

I really enjoyed JP and Taylor together. They each had some issues they were going through, Taylor's issues were new and she had some trouble adjusting to the changes going on in her life where as JP's issues were the same as they had been for a while, he was the black sheep of the family, the screw-up the one that always acted before he thought. But JP was trying to change all of that and honestly no one was seeing it and that pissed me off. Yes he made mistakes but seriously are you going to make him pay for them for the rest of his life especially since the one everyone likes to harp on was probably for the best anyway. Yes, he slept with his brothers girlfriend but she told him they were broken up and if she could do that with her boyfriends brother she can do that with anyone so why is the guy still paying for it years later??????

This was a great addition to the series, I really enjoyed the chemistry between Taylor and JP as well as their friendship. Byron was the best dog ever! If you enjoy sports romances especially hockey romances I urge you to grab a copy of this book I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Happy Reading!!!

In It to Win It was the second book in the Wynn Hockey series by Kelly Jamieson. Although it could be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading the series in order for maximum enjoyment.

Jean Paul “JP” Wynn was the younger brother to Theo’, book one, Play to Win. He was the controversial one of the family. Oh wait...they are all controversial, as it’s a crazy family. But he allegedly stole his brother’s girlfriend, had temper problems on the ice and made poor decisions off the ice. At least that’s the picture that was painted.

Taylor Hart. Taylor was Lacy’s friend, book one, who was involved with one of Theo’s teammates until he was traded. She had her heart broken and was starting new.

In It to Win It started where For the Win ended - with a cliff hanger and one of JP’s fights. It didn’t exactly play out like I expected, but it was an explosive beginning. Jamieson then took us through JP and Taylor’s lives - separately, as we were getting to know them. They each had learning moments, which brought some drama into the plot.

As to the characters, I loved JP. He was intense behind his bad boy image and I loved his loyalty. In regards to Taylor, she wasn’t my favorite character. She was a little too weak. She had potential but I wanted a little more backbone and substance. Now for Byron, he was awesome! And who could blame him about the Christmas incident - it was a tree!

The “crazy” family dynamics were still present but I learned more from the first book so other than Everly and Harrison, JP’s same age aunt and uncle, the rest of the characters were more in the backdrop. I loved getting to know Everly and Harrison more and can’t wait to dive into their stories.

All in all, it was well written, well developed, humorous and a good addition to the series. Everly and Wyatt are up next in Win Big and I can’t wait!

The Wynn family has some messed up family politics and in In It to Win It, they really come into play. This book has a relationship that went from hot to cold to medium to cold to hot….ackkk, at one point I was wondering if Ms. Jamieson was going to be able to bring me around, but she did and I ended up enjoying this book, but it took me a while to get there.

JP Wynn has a reputation on and off the ice and within his own family. Granted the one within his family wasn’t his entire fault, he didn’t know his brother’s ex-girlfriend wasn’t an ex when he slept with her but he still has to defend himself constantly around his family and he still beats himself up pretty regularly over it. JP has issues, his issues have issues and JP is in need of some good therapy, but I digress he isn’t a bad guy he is impulsive and has a bad case of “not good enough” syndrome.

I liked Taylor Hart in the first book; she had a fun personality that makes it easy to like her. However, in this book for a good part of it she seemed self centered and a bit judgmental and that was disappointing. I cut her some slack because there was a lot going on in her life that threw her for a loop, but at times she came off as rude and unfeeling towards others.

JP and Taylor jump right into a physical relationship which then leads to some complications when they both make assumptions about one another without communicating. I personally got tired of their on again off again friendship/relationship because it just seemed like they were both miserable a good part of this book.

JP showed amazing growth throughout this book which was nice to see and I was happy to see that his family saw it and told him they were proud of him; he really needed their approval. While he still made mistakes, he also tried to make up for them and his willingness to acknowledge them and apologize showed he was trying very hard to change his ways.

Not really liking the heroine and the back and forth relationship really put a damper on this book, but it was still well written, something I always look forward to when reading Ms. Jamieson, and while for me it wasn’t as good as the first book in this series, it was an integral part of the Wynn family series.

While a bit more angst filled than I normally like, I did enjoy In It To Win It and I am looking forward to the next book in this series!

Another awesome read…

This author’s hockey romances have me before anyone says ‘hello’! Full of heart, sultry passion and lots and lots of complicated family, the drama and heat blend together into great reads. JP and Taylor’s courtship fit right in….

JP and Taylor hooked up at a family wedding and it was magic. Until real life interfered. With fists flying and family in uproar (again), JP and Taylor scrambled to figure out what went wrong. Timing was key and it didn’t always work in their favor. I loved JP’s need for control and how he soon realized he had none when it came to Taylor. Soul-searching and lots of honesty-baring conversations meant they would have a chance…

They were not perfect. They made mistakes. But the humanness of it all, the regret, the sorrow, the hope, the sense of family, rang true in the telling. And that telling? Well, it made for another awesome Wynn Hockey read.

I think the biggest thing as to whether or not you'll love this book is if you believe in and feel the chemistry JP and Taylor have. Unfortunately, I did not. The opening scene had me all sorts cringing and I never fully recovered from it. There's a will they/won't they beginning followed by a casually exclusive relationship, and of course, a rift that they must overcome in order to realize they love each other. All of this hinges on their chemistry though. And most of the time, I didn't feel it.

I did enjoy the camaraderie between all of the characters. Even though this is the second book in the series it can be read as a stand-alone and you don't feel confused or disconnected from the side characters.

I received an advanced copy through Netgalley in return for an honest review.

JP is not a stupid man, “when a woman says she’s ‘fine,’ that means she’s not fine.” JP may have confidence but when it comes to his woman hes unsure of everything, "I wait, rubbing my jaw, swallowing. I had it custom made for her because I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. She swipes at her eyes. Jesus. I hope that means she’s happy." I liked this book, I loved JP.

As a fan of sports-fueled romances I was immediately drawn to this book and its deliciously flawed hero. Add in an outspoken heroine and you get an emotional tug-of-war that will keep readers cheering this combustible couple on with every turn of the page. Though this book can definitely be read on its own, the anger and disappointments directed towards this hero will make more sense when you see where he and his family first had their falling out. Even if you don’t read the previous book you’ll still find yourself falling for this rough around the edges hero with a heart of gold.

JP Wynn has always struggled to get what he wants, always had to work a hundred times harder than his brother Theo to achieve his goals. It’s led to frustrations and bad choices from him and has him now seen as the black sheep of his family. After his most recent debacle with his brother’s girlfriend he’s feeling especially disappointed in himself and is in the process of trying to better himself. After fights on the ice led to suspensions he’s also training harder than ever to curb his temper and be the star player his team needs. He’s a work in progress when readers meet him, self-deprecating in admitting his faults and his harsh views of himself made me want to hug him a time or two. Yes, he’s made some mistakes, but not everything he feels guilt over was his fault. There were times he was his own worst enemy, taking on more of the blame so others could save face, and it was a reflection of how big his heart truly is. To the world he shows a fun and flirty side, but with family he always seemed to be making amends for something he feels guilty for and it infused each familial interaction with greater depth. When it came to love and sex it’s clear that his initial attraction to Taylor was of the erotic variety. He was looking for just a bit of fun, with the pages going up in flames each time they were together. More intense feelings slowly emerged the more they interacted with each other and it wasn’t until later on that I became fully invested in their pairing. JP might not have been seen as the perfect hero, but he was perfect in my eyes and a highlight of this story in my opinion.

Taylor Hart’s had a rough time of it lately too with having to move home due to financial issues, dealing with the changes in her parent’s lives, as well as her own sad dating life courtesy of a hockey player who broke her heart. It has her wanting to forget about everything, just enjoy her friend’s wedding, but the moment she locks eyes with JP her life will change irrevocably. It’s a combustible connection from the start between her and JP and it leads to a weekend full of erotic encounters that she saw as revenge towards her ex but that ends in a fistfight between JP and her angry ex. Seeing Taylor be so manipulative early on was very disappointing and it affected how I saw her throughout the rest of the story. Though I appreciated her seeing all the good in JP from the very start, I didn’t appreciate her using him and being angry at him for her ex’s behavior. Despite my issues with her Taylor’s still a strong-willed heroine with a crackling connection to JP, one teeming with sexual tension. She’s outspoken at times and gives as good as she gets in her interactions with JP. She’s got a small group of girlfriends, the closest being Theo’s new wife Lacey, and I enjoyed their playful scenes and strong support of each other. On a whole she was a good match for JP, but on my list of heroines there are others who left a more indelible mark.

This was a satisfying addition to the Wynn Hockey series and I enjoyed getting to see the family again and am especially pleased that Theo and JP got their brotherly vibe back as their scenes were extremely heartwarming due to their honesty. The balance between action on the ice and off was nicely done too as the hockey world was vividly depicted to make my pulse pound during games before putting a blush on my face during JP and Taylor’s sizzling encounters. These encounters were nicely spaced to keep them fresh and readers longing for more in a connection that built slowly while taking them both down a winding road to HEA. Along with a memorable main couple readers get to see an equally appealing cast of secondary characters that promise more sexy and sporty stories to come!

Seductive Yet Sweet! This story is so full of fun, drama, love, family, personal growth and forgiveness. After reading the first story in this series I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this story about JP Wynn. And it definitely did not disappoint. I had a fantastic time reading about JP and Taylor. Their story pulled me in from the beginning and held my attention through all the twists and turns.

JP has been having a hard time ever since he dated his brother Theo’s girlfriend. Seen as the bad boy by his family, he is trying to put his past behind him and make better choices with his life. JP meets Taylor, at Theo’s rehearsal dinner. So attracted to each other they hook up that night and again during the wedding reception for the hottest sex of their lives. But when he is taken by surprise, when another hockey player Manny, jumps him at his brother’s wedding reception, and accuses him of stealing his girlfriend. JP can’t believe that again he looks like the bad boy in the eyes of his family.

Taylor has had it with hockey players. After being in a relationship with Manny and then ghosted by him after he is traded, then watching JP. And Manny get in a fight at the reception, she decides to find romance elsewhere. But with the sizzling chemistry between her and JP, as well as being best friends with JP’s sister-in-law, Taylor just can’t seem to keep away from him.

But JP has his sights set on Taylor for the win. And you don’t want to miss what he is all willing to do, to stay close. I love getting to know more about this crazy and close Wynn family and so will you.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There was something about this book...things that normally would have irritated me didn't. I think a part of that was JP. Sure he was a screw up, but he was working hard to correct that part of himself. You could see when he would pull himself back and how he would beat himself up when he wasn't successful.

Taylor was fun and the perfect person for JP. It was easy to see why at times she was a bit wary of starting anything with him, but if she forgot that he was a hockey player all was good. The two of them together were cute, they had fun razzing each other and just hanging out.

I was glad when Taylor found out why JP messed up it didn't seem to hurt as much, because it was all for her.

The second book about the Winn family of hockey and you have the couple from the last book getting married at the beginning. J.P. the brother is attracted to Taylor and the night before the wedding they hook up and after the wedding during the dancing, she sees her ex from the first book another hockey player who now plays in Nashville. He had and has been ghosting her after he got traded when she thought that he would be staying in touch. While dancing with JP she makes eye contact with the ex-but she and JP go back upstairs to the hotel. When coming back down and going back to dancing she is shocked when he the ex-starts a fight with JP. She is also mad at JP for what I could not figure out because he was just protecting himself. Now for the rest of the story, he is trying to improve himself by not doing things that are self-destructive. He even starts to take up yoga as a joke at first but ends up sticking with it. He is still attracted to Taylor but he has to let her come to her own way of seeing him. She is having her own set of problems with her parents divorcing, selling the home she grew up in, and needing to find a home for her dog and to come to grips with her feelings about athletes, especially JP who she is finding harder and harder to stay away from. See what happens in this good story. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

Another hot Wynn (see what I did there?) From Kelly Jamieson and the Wynn Hockey series.

In It to Win It is book two and picks up the story of JP and Taylor. JP is a screw up, or at least he thinks he is. It's actually pretty painful to read. 😭

Taylor is stubborn and afraid after a family situation shakes her foundation.

Together they help each other do better and learn to love each other, in spite of themselves.

I loved this sweet story, didnt hurt that it was smoking hot too. Plus there's a dog. A dog is always equals entertaining reading! 🐶

If you like hockey romances. Or just like romance, give Kelly Jamieson's Wynn Hockey series a chance. Pretty sure you'll enjoy reading about how these Wynn men mess things up.

Play to Win had me wanting a sequel right after I was finished reading it. My expectations were pretty high for In It to Win It, but I wasn't disappointed at all. Kelly Jamieson gave me everything I wanted and more in this sequel.

We get a glimpse of JP in the first book and he's not painted as the best character. It seems he stole his brother's girlfriend (that's not completely the case, but people judge him for it). He's a typical bad boy and even though in many cases he's not as bad as people seems, JP lets people blame him for things. He's so hard on himself even if an incident isn't his fault. JP is trying to change his image though even if he's his biggest judge.

Taylor is a character we also met in Play to Win. I liked Taylor. She's really down to earth. Taylor just graduated college and is getting her career started. I loved how dedicated she was to the kids she's helping. It's important to be passionate about your work and she definitely is. Taylor faces some unpleasant surprises with her family and has to deal with a lot in this book and process what is happening. She loses her faith in love, but can JP change that?

The instant chemistry between JP and Taylor was amazing. Sparks were flying! I can say one thing, this author knows how to write some steamy scenes! She knows what she's doing. There are definitely some bumps along the way, but I loved that JP really wanted nothing more than to get to know Taylor and be with her. Even if his biggest obstacle was himself. I loved reading about them finding their way to each other. The only thing that bugged me was Taylor settling for a guy she had no feelings for. She made things so much harder at times because of that.

On top of the amazing romance, we get more information about the Wynn family drama. This family is complicated, but that made it pretty interesting. What I loved the most is even though it's clear so much is going on, it didn't take over the story. The author does this in a balanced way that only adds to the story in a positive way. She definitely set some stuff up for the next book that makes me excited.

If you're looking for a book with amazing characters, steamy romance, humor, family drama and that leaves a smile on your face, definitely pick up In It to Win It.

In it To Win It by Kelly Jamieson is book 2 in the Wynn family dynasty. JP is the brother of Theo the lead in book 1 Play to Win and Taylor is Lacey’s friend. I adored book one and I highly recommend reading them in order.

Now back to JP…. In It to Win It opens a bit before the end of Play to Win and man does it open with a wallop, well after some very steamy moments that is!

JP is a man struggling with the actions of his past, a man trying to do better and be better. It is clear from the moment he meets Taylor that sees the good in JP; the man he has inside of him. The man he does not see.

I adored for the two formed an ease with each other and the use of Taylor’s dog was so perfect for the storyline!

I also loved seeing Theo and Lacey from book 1; not just seeing them happy but watching JP and Theo repair their relationship (nope not telling read the books) really added to the family dynamic and healing ofr JP.

The use of Taylor’s parents added to this story and as a reader will even make you think.. oh no I am not telling that either you need to read the book!

In the end the happy JP and Taylor find with each other is the forever kind that is perfect for them.

I LOVE the Wynn family and I am so excited for Everly Wynn’s story in Win Big coming October 2019!

In her hockey related books, Kelly Jamieson somehow always manages to hit all the right notes with me. I find her books delightful. Her character always appeal to me, and I want everything to turn out well for them. Her storylines keep me engrossed and I've always been happy with the way they played out.

This book was just as good as all the others. After the first book of the series, I was kind of skeptical about how the author could pull off having JP Winn as th hero of a book. I should have known that she'd have me loving him within a short number of pages. Taylor was the perfect heroine for him, and I loved the two of them together.

I thoroughly enjoyed their story, and loved the secondary characters as well, many of them from the first book. I'll be reading the next one in this series very soon.

I really enjoyed the second book of the Wynn Hockey series by Kelly Jamieson. The antics of this family and supporting characters provide so many laugh out loud moments! Jamieson is giving me what I love most about a series by making sure former and upcoming heroes and heroines continue to grow and provide value to all stories.

JP and Taylor were great. While JP’s odd insecurities about himself got to be a bit much sometimes, I enjoyed his attempts at always doing better. Taylor stole the show for me in this one. Her heart shone through on every page and I was thankful she and JP found their much deserved HEA. I also enjoyed Byron the dog’s contributions to In It to Win It.

I was thrilled to be able to listen to this book on audio. Kasha Kensington and Alexander Cendese did a great job as always!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 23, 2019.

JP Wynn: I admit, I’ve made some bad choices—on and off the ice.

Taylor Hart: I always thought hockey players were hot.

REVIEW: IN IT TO WIN IT is the second instalment in Kelly Jamieson’s contemporary, adult WYNN HOCKEY erotic, romance hockey series focusing on the Wynn family hockey dynasty, owners and operators of the NHL’s California Condors, and the Long Beach Golden Eagles. This is twenty-six year old, Long Beach Golden Eagles, professional hockey player Jean Paul ‘JP’ Wynn, and twenty-four year old speech pathologist Taylor Hart’s story line. IN IT TO WIN IT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (JP and Taylor) IN IT TO WIN IT follows the acrimonious relationship between twenty six year old, Long Beach Golden Eagles professional hockey player Jean Paul ‘JP’ Wynn, and twenty-four year old speech pathologist Taylor Hart. JP’s brother Theo married his sweetheart Lacey Olson but a one-night stand between JP and Taylor Hart resulted in a dance floor brawl between JP and Taylor’s former beau, a brawl that left JP struggling to understand what went wrong and why. Believing he once again found himself in a relationship with a woman already spoken for, JP goes on the defensive when Taylor refuses to admit what happened or why. Weeks to months will pass where JP and Taylor will cross paths, paths that will soon lead to a second chance at romance and love. What ensues is the building relationship between Taylor and JP, and the potential fall-out when Taylor reveals the truth about the night where everything went all to h*ll.

JP Wynn struggles with both his on and off ice persona; a reputation as a man-whore who ‘stole’ his brother’s girlfriend, recent events place JP back in the dog house with his family, his teammates and the woman with whom he had hoped to see again. Taylor Hart’s life is about to spiral out of control but her on-again, off-again friendship slash relationship with JP Wynn is threatened by the secrets she keeps hidden to herself. When a former boyfriend discovers the relationship between JP and Taylor, JP finds himself targeted for sins of the past.

The relationship between JP and Taylor is one of immediate attraction but JP’s reputation precedes his introduction to our story line heroine. Taylor battles between head and heart as she struggles to forget about the man with whom she will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are once again, reintroduced to the large extended and slightly dysfunction Wynn family including Theo and Lacey;Grandpa Bob Wynn, and coach /uncle Mark Wynn.

IN IT TO WIN IT is a story of family, secrets, lies and revelations. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are charismatic and colorful; the romance is seductive but Taylor’s puzzling actions hurt our hero more than once but several times over.

This is the second book in the series about the extremely dysfunctional Wynn Family, a Hockey Dynasty. Fortunately, the author provides a family tree of sorts at the beginning to help keep all the characters straight. The first book was about Theo, how he rescued Lacey from Los Vegas, and brought her to California, where she pretended to be his girlfriend to throw in the face of his brother, PJ, who he and the entire family believed stole his previous girlfriend. But things are often not like them seemed, and it was PJ that was being used by said girlfriend. In the end, all worked out for the best, because Theo and Lacey fell in love and PJ and Theo have reconciled. However, PJ is still holding on to guilt for that and many other things that were never his fault, but he accepted the blame for.

The book starts with Theo and Lacey's big wedding (they had already married in Los Vegas) and PJ lays eyes on Lacey's friend, Taylor Hart, a speech language pathologist, who loves working with kids. They hit it off, but when Taylor tries to make a former boyfriend, Manny, jealous, Manny starts a fight with PJ (a typical Wynn gettogether) and she inexplicably gets mad at PJ. PJ has been working on himself and trying to be a better person and keep his temper in check, but part of his family doesn't want to let him forget his mistakes, so gets angry at Taylor, thinking that he again was with someone else's girl. PJ and Taylor are attracted to each other, but misunderstandings keep them apart, until a family crisis in Taylor's family, leaves her convinced that forever love doesn't exist, and her dream of love and a family is dead. Yet, she finds herself going to PJ for comfort. (He has also been keeping her dog Byron.) Then it is PJ's turn to screw up, until Theo convinces him to get his head on straight and forgive himself. At first I did not like Taylor as she seemed irrational, but both characters grow and open themselves to love.

The author has created a fascinating family of characters that will take her through many books. The books are written in an entertaining and compelling voice, which makes them terrific reads. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Kelly Jamieson brings us yet another winning hockey book with the Wynn family series. I love all the branches of that very large extended family tree she includes in the front of the book. This attention grabber is about JP who we got a good shot of in book one as the ne'er do well brother who has a bit of a short fuse on the ice, as well as getting a seriously bad rap by his family for a suspect relationship with his older brothers girlfriend. Poor JP just can't win. Although he's trying and has made up his mind do "do better." All the while his family never misses a beat reminding him what a bomb out he is. When he meets Taylor at his brother's wedding rehearsal, the two quickly form an attraction and Taylor does something totally out of character and ends up spending the night in JP's room. I liked the chemistry between the two. Taylor has a lot going on in her life at home, faced with some life changing moves that include finding a new place to live along with finding a new home for her dog, JP willingly helps her out and takes the dog! Oh man, did I love that dog. So does JP and he likes Taylor even more, so having the dog JP, smart guy that he is can see more of Taylor. JP really is a great character, he's a great listener lending an ear to Taylor as she works out her feelings surrounding her family. And despite things that happen on the ice, he really is trying harder not to lose his temper.
He gets some great guidance along the way from his brother and a couple unexpected family members as he tries to work through some of his issues and his feelings for Taylor. When the pucks up things with Taylor just a tad.... oh to be in that guys head.... just sayin'. How in the world is he going to fix things with Taylor? What is up with Everly and Wyatt? This is a must read in the world of the Wynn family and ready, waiting and anxious for the next book! Please tell me Everly and Wyatt are getting their own book!

Being part of the Wynn family was NOT easy. JP was labeled the "bad boy" of the clan due to his past romantic entanglements and scrapes out on the ice. He was determined to "be better", however, would he ever be good enough for a woman like Taylor?

This was all about JP for me. Yes, he was guilty of every crime he was accused of, but he was never given the opportunity to present his side of the story. He just accepted the admonishment from his family, and let them believe he was this impulsive hot head. But, not Taylor. Taylor couldn't reconcile these past actions with the man she saw before her. She had her suspicions, that there was more to the story, and as suspected, there was. I was so happy there was FINALLY someone, who could see past the public persona, and really took the time to get to know JP.

I won't say Taylor was perfect. She frustrated me a lot in the beginning of the book. I thought her reaction to what happened at the wedding was a bit extreme, but I guess it was the kick in the pants JP needed to get him to make some changes to this life. I appreciated seeing both JP and Taylor grapple with some personal issues, and grow from them. Both really had hang ups, when it came to relationships, and that was an obvious hurtle for them, but JP also had to learn to forgive and trust himself, and not let the pressure of the Wynn legacy keep him from living his life his way.

In book one, we just got a taste of the Wynn family. Here, we are getting to know more about them and their dynamic, bit by bit, and I am really enjoying learning more about their family. I also got to spend more time with JP and his team, and they shared quite a wonderful bro-moment in Nashville as they helped him worked through one of his blow-ups.

Overall: I had a fantastic time with JP and Taylor as they worked towards their HEA. It was fun, sexy, sweet, and I always am on board for a good redemption story.

I'm ok with the straight forward jumping right into of this. I was curious to see JP's book and if he will redeem himself after what he did to Theo. I felt like that needed more resolution from book one aside. JP has always struck me as impulsive and lady's man, start of this book says just that. He and Taylor were insta lust and just went for it. But what he doesn't know ia that Taylor has some strings, it gets complicated than a simple wedding hook up. But I don't count Taylor innocent in the whole thing though she still went in eyes open but now she doesn't want drama.

I have to say I'm not a fan of JP at all at the start even if he is self admitted his faults and all. I'm not quite a believer that his wedding interlude with Taylor brought this sudden change on his womanizing and bad boy ways. There are many kinds of athletes and JP falls under the flashy type not my cup of tea. Taylor confused me she was all over JP at the wedding then when trouble hits she runs and avoids. I guess what happens at the wedding stays there.

There's a lot of attraction physical wise but deeper than I'm not sure.I couldn't really connect with either sadly. I'm sure both are likable characters. I didn't understand Taylor and her intense dislike for JP even though she hooked up with him and is in lust around him. Of course as Lacey's friend they keep bumping into the other.

This reminded of the actual NHL were there are a few teams from California all fighting for the same market and spot in the Playoffs which was actually cool. Except here the rivalry is more personal and inter family. I liked all the hockey stuff and talk that's always my favorite part. JP trying to be a better team player and stop with the stupid action. The growth was nice and his remorse for his actions ok. I still want to read the other characters since this family js quite interesting and colorful.

4.5 Star Review of In It To Win It (Wynn Hockey #2) by Kelly Jamieson

In It To Win is the second in the latest series from Kelly Jamieson, Wynn Hockey. This is JP Wynn and Taylor Heart’s story and I really enjoyed it. JP plays lives to play hockey although his antics both on and off the ice have gotten him in to more hot water that he would and his family would like.
The family dynamics of the Wynn family had my head spinning, dysfunctional is not a strong enough word to describe this family.

JP has demons but he is determined to lose the black sheep of the family and prove himself to his family, particularly his brother Theo. However at Theo’s wedding he gets up close and personal with bridesmaid Taylor which causes more complications than he bargained for.

Having read about Taylor and JP in the previous book I was interested to see how this new relationship they find themselves in would pan out and I was not disappointed.

I really love JP, there is more to him that meets the eye and it was great to see him show the vulnerability that lies beneath the surface. In my opinion Taylor is the perfect woman for him. The chemistry between them simply smoulders. Will they both realize the potential their relationship has or run before it has a chance to flourish?

I enjoy Kelly Jamieson’s style of writing, her characters are strong and yet she shows that they can be human and not the “perfect” hero or heroine and this makes for a realistic and enjoyable read.

Kelly Jamieson lights the lamp with IN IT TO WIN IT (Wynn Hockey #2). This is JP Wynn’s and Taylor Hart’s story. The novel starts out at JP’s brother Theo’s wedding to Lacey; JP is the best man, and Taylor is a bridesmaid. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.

I adored this story. JP was not my favorite person in book one, but as we find out all the details of what happened with Theo’s ex, he became a likable character. Taylor is a fun heroine. I like that these two hooked up. The two have incredible chemistry. The drama with Manny added to the story. I enjoyed how JP and Taylor both grew in this novel. I love that JP wants to become a better person for Taylor. They have some misunderstanding, and both learned from their mistakes. I love that JP takes Taylor’s Golden retriever, Byron, in. I appreciate that Byron has played a role in both books one and two.

Kelly Jamieson is doing a great job with this series. The Wynn family has interesting drama. I enjoyed the plot of this story. My heart went out to Taylor and all the changes she faced. If you haven’t read book one, PLAY TO WIN, I suggest reading it prior to this story. I recommend this series to people who enjoy contemporary sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second book in the series, and I really think that you should read them in order. The Wynn family is big, complicated and all about hockey! Understanding the family dynamics will help with some of the snark, and the politics!

JP is a good guy who has a quick temper on and off the ice. He made a big mistake when he started seeing his brother's girlfriend, Emma, although she had said they were over at the time. In his head he is still paying for that mistake, even though his brother has now moved on, and in fact is marrying Lacey at the beginning of this book. He is now determined to be better, and to keep his temper under control from now on - and as the new season is about to start that is definitely his plan. He has been training really hard for pre-season and is in a good place mentally. So when everything transpires at the wedding, he just cannot believe it all overturned so quickly.

Taylor behaved out of character at the wedding, but sees something in JP which deep down she thinks might be worth fighting for, more than just amazing chemistry. The road is certainly not smooth, but getting to know him better thanks to him taking in her much loved dog, does give them both an excuse to spend time together. I thought that the side story of her parents and why they split up after so long together was good at pushing the boundaries, and giving her just as much angst as JP in her personal life.

I really enjoyed reading about how JP and Taylor got to know each other, repair the damage to each other's hearts and come to realise the faults and triggers which needed addressing. We also got to spend plenty of time with other members of the Wynn clan who are ripe for finding their HEA and look forward to more hockey-fuelled romance from them. Thank you Kelly Jamieson for another excellent installment.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads

This is such a fun read. Bad boy hockey player JP Wynn finds himself in even more trouble when he hooks up with a bridesmaid at his brother’s wedding. Third generation hockey royalty, JP just can’t seem to do anything right and he’s once again in the doghouse with his famous family. As he tries to fix his reputation, he can’t seem to avoid Taylor, the bridesmaid hook-up. JP is a hot mess but Taylor brings out the best in him and he soon finds himself wanting more than a hook-up.

I’m really enjoying this series. These books take a fresh approach to hockey romance and the result is a little bit Dallas on Ice - with a good sense of humour. The women in these stories are more interesting than some of Jamieson’s recent characters and the dysfunctional Wynn family is highly entertaining. Like the last book, Taylor brings a good dose of real life to JP’s first world problems. The recent graduate is struggling to live on her own and she can’t find a landlord who allows pets. Her life puts the Wynn family squabbles in perspective. I love the sense of play in this story - despite all his best intentions, JP just seems to invite chaos and catastrophe.

There’s a little more actual hockey in this book than the first one but the focus remains on the characters and the Wynn family. There are a few steamy scenes and great chemistry between Taylor and JP. I’m enjoying watching the relationships between the Wynns and their partners develop across the books and I’m already excited for the next books in the series.

Second book of Kelly Jamieson’s Wynn Hockey series is here :) For the ones who are not familiar with the series, Wynn family is a hockey dynasty. The Wynn family is full of drama and all members of the family are involved with hockey one way or another. First book of the series was ‘Play to Win’ it was Theo and Lacey’s family and thanks to them we get to know the main characters in this book as well. This book is featuring Wynn family’s bad boy Jean Paul, aka JP, Wynn and Taylor Hart, best friend of Lacey.

I hated JP on the first book; because he stole his brother’s girlfriend and kept acting like a cocky asshole. However, after reading JP’s interaction with Lacey and Theo at the end of the first book, I start wondering if the bad boy persona is just a show he puts for the world to see. After the whole stealing his brother’s girlfriend debacle, he is determined to stay away from taken women and all the trouble that comes with it. However, thanks to Taylor and her ex Manny, this determination went down the drain on Theo and Lacey’s wedding. Even though, Taylor is not with Manny anymore when Manny attacks JP, everyone thinks ‘OMG! He did it again.’ He always takes responsibility for his bad behaviors and even though they always have reasoning behind his actions, nobody questions it. In everyone’s eyes it is always because JP is a bad boy. For the first in his life instead of his behavior, someone looks at the reasoning behind his actions. My heart ached for him because of the way he constantly beats himself up when he makes mistakes and he is the one, who cannot forgive himself. As for Taylor, she annoyed the shit out of me. The things she was going through is not easy but the way she acted was annoying in so many ways. They are a perfect match and it was amazing to see how they both grow through the book, realized their flaws and work on them. Of course, just like the first book there is a bit of a Wynn family drama as well but it was nice to see JP’s point of view on the issue, as well as family members.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. JP and Taylor’s story was captivating, heartwarming, sweet and sexy. I hope we will get a chance to see more of JP and Taylor in the future books. Also, since the first book I am really curious about Everly Wynn and guess what next book in the series ‘Win Big’ is Everly and sexy hockey player Wyatt Bell’s story. It will be release on October 1st and I cannot wait the get my hand on it :)

Would I recommend this book: Yes.
Would I re-read this book: Yes.
Would I read future books by this author: Yes.
