When Holly Morton fled Penhallow Sands nearly a year ago she was determined to put the past - and Rich Turner - behind her. But now an unexpected loss and financial trouble has led her back to the family vineyard and it's time to tell Rich the truth - he's a father.
Surrounded by the memories of what they once shared Holly's anger fades in the glow of Rich's undeniable love for their son and the way he selflessly steps in to help the vineyard out of trouble. As Holly watches Rich flourish in his new role as father to baby Luke, she realises that though they can't change the past, the future is still theirs to write...
An uplifting, emotional romance set in Cornwall perfect for fans of Holly Martin and Phillipa Ashley
Darcie Boleyn has a huge heart and is a real softy. She never fails to cry at books and movies, whether the ending is happy or not. Darcie is in possession of an overactive imagination that often keeps her awake at night. Her childhood dream was to become a Jedi but she hasn’t yet found suitable transport to take her to a galaxy far, far away. She also has reservations about how she’d look in a gold bikini, as she rather enjoys red wine, cheese and loves anything with ginger or cherries in it – especially chocolate. Darcie fell in love in New York, got married in the snow, rescues uncoordinated greyhounds and can usually be found reading or typing away on her laptop.
The House at Greenacres is a wonderfully compelling story about Family, discovery, secrets, relationships, working together and new beginnings.
Holly returns to Greenacres for her Grandads funeral. She run away a while ago and it's her first time home. But Holly isn't alone, she has a baby boy called Luke and she's about to drop a bombshell on Luke's Father Rich! He has no idea he has become a Father!
Rich broke Holly's heart and she run away to nurse her broken heart. She found out she was pregnant but couldn't bring herself to contact Rich.
Now she's back can Holly stay this time? Will Rich and Holly rekindle their relationship or will Rich let her and baby Luke down?
Rich isn't all bad he is a flawed young man, he was young, grieving, hurt, confused, was feeling guilty for feeling and living. It wasnt the right thing to do, run away, but it gave him time to grow up and come to terms with the grief of losing his brother and Holly.
I was thoroughly behind Holly and Rich's relationship the whole time, willing them to rekindle their relationship. Their connection was so apparent the sparks were dancing between them.
There was some subjects that was touched upon that was a lil sensitive, such as grief and depression but Darcie handles them with the right amount of sensitivity.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The House at Greenacres, it was a heart warming and touching story about Family, making mistakes, starting over, growing up, relationships and working together to save Greenacres vineyard. The pace flowed along beautifully, the characters were very well written, complex, relatable and entertaining.
Another Gem of a Book by Darcie! She always writes the most compelling, heart warming and enthralling reads. That sweep you away, time just whizzed by.
I adore Darcie's books and I'm excited to see if there will be more to come!
Thank you to Canelo for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
With a broken heart Holly Dryden fled from her home town of Penhallow Sands. Determined to put the past behind her and especially Rich Turner she seeks to make a new life. But fate had a way of changing those plans. The death of her loved grandfather and other financial events see her and her baby, Luke, back at the family vineyard. Memories of times with her best friend and love come to the fore. Se has to tell Rich that Luke is his son. What he chooses to do with that information Holly is hesitant to guess. But he has to know. Will she be able to put the heartbreak of the past behind her and maintain cordial relationships with Rich, for Luke’s sake? And can she ever forgive Rich’s mother Lucinda for her hateful words? Then there is the vineyard which is struggling. Holly determines to find ways to help her father make it viable again. With its beautiful setting of Cornwall and characters to care about, this is an engaging read. A story of family, friendship, forgiveness and community, it gently takes hold of the reader. Though a little repetitive and predictable in parts, it is still an involving read that had me feeling part of events. An emotion filled read. At least this time I have come in on book 1 of a series and I will probably carry on with others when the library allows.
This is another emotive, heartwarming story from this talented author - I really recommend you grab yourself a copy and read that instead of my review!
It is a second-chance romance in which the couple broke up nearly a year ago when Rich Turner was struggling to cope with everything fate had thrown at him and finished their relationship. Holly Dryden's reaction was to run but she's returned home after the death of her grandfather and she's not alone - she hadn't realised she was pregnant when she left but now she's back with their baby, Luke. With family and business difficulties looming large, it isn't an easy return for any of them. As Rich steps up to help, can love find a way to help them become a family together and save the vineyard or will fate tear them apart again?Darcie is absolutely brilliant at bringing her characters, settings and events vividly to life in the imagination of her readers. The descriptions of Penhallow Sands are so evocative, it feels like I've actually been there so I'm very happy this is the start of a new series set in that location.
This is a real roller coaster emotional ride, with surprising ups and downs, twists and turns, taking the reader along through all the dilemmas and turmoil to the heartwarming ending. It is a story I have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending!
I requested and was gifted a copy of this story via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.
'The House at Greenacres' is the first book in the Penhallow Sands series and the second of the Boleyn books I am reading. This time we are transported to an idyllic countryside making it one of the perfect summer reads. My only complaint with the blub is that it completely gives out the story. There are no surprises or heartbreaking incidents. Instead, we are taken on a journey of self-discovery and life-altering decisions that will make you ruminate a lot. The story follows a dual narrative evoking the views of Holly and Rich and we could not but admire the way Rich comes out his feeling of guilt to be the father his son deserves. On the whole, an ideal story concerning family, forgiveness and fresh starts which is perfect for summer days.
A beautiful family vineyard on the family's vast properties in Cornwall is the setting of this book. You can imagine yourself walking through the grape orchards at sunset while you are surrounded by the heady smell of grapes. The sunset captivates you in it's splendor with pinks, oranges and reds as it slowly fades into dusk. All roads lead to home, at least for Holly Morton they do. She fled Penhallow Sands a year ago determined to put space between her and her thoughts of long time friend turned more Rich Turner. The past has a way of catching up with us though, it always seems to though no matter how far we run. An unexpected loss and financial trouble have led Holly back to the place she had run from, home to the majestic vineyard. It's time for her to come clean with Rich about something that will affect him as well. After both suffered loss is there still hope for a bright future, even possibly together? My favorite character is the grandmother as much as I enjoyed Holly and Rich's story. The grandmother is a sweet encourager but yet a no nonsense type that will advise and listen while you talk. It's always a win reading this author I've enjoyed all the books I've read by her. Published March 25th 2019 by Canelo Escape. I was given a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Thank you. All opinions expressed are my own.
As always from this author, a lovely story to warm your heart. Four stars as it didn’t quite match up to the high standards of all the Conwenna Cove novels which I adored. This is a go to author for me when I need a little light relief from psycological thrillers.
Meet Holly, back at her family home following the death of her grandfather she returns with her son Luke in tow. Luke is only 3 months old and a bit of a secret following her departure the previous year due to serious heartache.
The problem is Luke is also a secret to the man who caused the heartache, his dad Rich.
I thought the book would be about Holly trying to keep Luke's birth father a secret from Rich but actually she let him know very quickly on her return at her grandfathers funeral and what followed was a genteel story about Rich and Luke's paternal family getting into a way of family life with both Luke and Holly. It quickly became clear that Holly was not the type of character to have hidden Luke away, she had her son at the forefront of everything and wanted him to have a relationship with his whole family if possible and it was lovely to read about her forgiving nature.
Rich had been fighting his own demons when he did something that caused Holly to leave, she had not known she was pregnant, and he obviously regretted his actions and worked hard to gain back Holly's trust.
This story, and ending, was quite predictable from the very start but I actually wouldn't have had it any other way. A lovely read with enjoyable characters - I could definitely see a follow-up book on Holly's friend Fran.
My many thanks to Canelo via NetGalley for providing me with this advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.
Heartwarming and sweet story. The slow burn s cond chance at romance tale is lovely. You are there with the MC just as confused as to why and what, it’s very well done and a lovely end. A lovely story.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
The story has all the right components. Background, romance, lovely setting and conclusion however it just felt a bit melancholy. I wouldn’t not recommend this book. It’s a cosy, easy read but there’s just something missing - a bit of spark somewhere.
The house at Greenacres is a really lovely book. Darcie has a magical way of writing that instantly makes you smile and feeling good.
In this book we meet Holly who after a terrible break up with the love of her life Rich flees her home town, her friends, her family and the life she once has and moved away. Cutting herself off from all social media and changing her phone number. Making her incognito to most people. Then Holly finds out that she is rather pregnant. But is terrified to go home because of her grandfathers beliefs about having children out of wedlock.
We meet Holly when her grandfather has sadly passed away. It is her grandfathers funeral and wake and it is a heartbreaking time for all. I have to admit that the openin scenes in this book. Moved me because it made me think of my grandfather who has passed away and how much I miss him every day.
Holly is an emotional wreck. Not only has she got to deal with her grandfathers funeral, but she has to tell Rich that he is a dad and that they have a baby son. She has to see the friends again that she cut herself off from and start rebuilding the bridges that she caused when she ran away a year ago.
Not only that but the vineyard that was her grandfathers business that he had great pride and joy in and that was going to get passed down through the generations. Is in trouble and they need to act now in order to save it for the generations to come.
But Holly has a great network of people around her, Rich is a great dad and helps out in many way to get the vineyard out of trouble. Could they manage to rebuild their lives again? And become a happy family once more? Will Holly be able to open her heart to Rich once again and forgive him for the hurt that he caused?
Will Holly be able to make amends with her friends? And will they all rally around to help save the failing vineyard? And will everyone be able to save the vineyard from closure?
Join Holly, adorable baby luke, her fabulous family and friends on this uplifting, romantic, emotional and feel good journey. Set in the beautiful Cornish countryside.
I promise you, you will not be sorry that you did. I loved it.
I didn't hate it, but I hated parts of it. Ugh, how many times does Holly have to say "how can I trust him after what he did last year"? I stopped counting at 7 and I wasn't half way through. And I get it, she loves her son, but egads! does she have to say it aaaalllll the time? She doesn't do anything without "thinking what it will mean for Luke". This was basically a sweet short story that was just stretched out as far as it could go. It was sweet without being saccharine, but there was lots of filler and repetition.
This is the first book in this series and my word it was simply amazing and I didn't want it to end worth far more than five stars and has amazing countryside with being set in Cornwall. It's an uplifting read with brilliant characters and the story plot is brilliant. The book is well written and is full of romance and families and making up with old friends and heartbreaking as well at times but also full of improving the family business and moving forward. Holly fled from Penhallow Sands as she wanted to get away from her ex Rich but once she moves away she discovers she's expecting a baby so she has every reason to stay away. But when her baby Luke is a few months old she has to return home as her grandfather sadly passes away and she's so unsure how everyone will react. She arrives just in time for the start of her funeral but she's upset to be saying goodbye to her grandfather and she didn't get to say goodbye in person. Rich sees her with Luke her baby and can't work out if it means she's moving forward and has someone else but when at the wake he asks when Luke was born he then asks if it was his baby and she had to tell the truth and say yes. She decides to stay at the family home and help on the vineyards but is worried about the business and if it's doing a well so wants to see how she can help. She also wants to give rich the chance of getting to know his son and she can clearly see that he is falling in love with him. She is frightened of committing herself to Rich again as he's hurt her once before but she can clearly see that she still has feeling for him. She starts improving the family business and is settling in back at home and Luke is so happy and she's glad of the help and support so decides to stay but what will happen when Rich tries to show he's ready to be with her and gives her a big gesture is she ready or not and can she commit herself and also with her grandmother give her some wise words. She's certainly loving living back in Cornwall and working with her family and having Luke about gives life to her grandmother to after she looses her husband. A charming read and worth far more than five stars and can't wait for the second part to come out now.
Having read a coupleof Darcie books in the past, I was pretty confident that I'd enjoy this one as much as her other ones and I wasn't wrong.
This had been a lovely pleasant read, thoroughly enjoyable story from start to finish.
I adored getting to know all of the characters especially Holly and Rich, and had quite a soft spoy for baby Luke. As for the setting of the story, being Greenacres, well it sounded truly picturesque and idyllic and I felt like I was there for real.
There was plenty going on in the story, lots of heartfelt moments, some emotional scenes, as well as some laugh out loud moments. It made for a very enjoyable read.
I have to say that the cover for this book is absolutely beautiful.
the most boring, repetitive and badly constructed Book I’ve read . The story doesn’t move forward - just page after page of pointless description. Every page is virtually the same rehash and so boringly predictable. I’m not surprised that it’s free!!
Yes, another novel by Darcie Boleyn. I adore all her books and have reviewed so many of them.
In The House at Greenacres, we meet Holly who is back home in Penhallow Sands after having lived in Exeter. She's back with her baby son Luke in tow, and also so much hurt. She'll never forgive Rich for what he did. She has a close support network comprising her dad her gran and her friend Fran who are all glad to have her back.
Holly is sensitive but strong-willed and the love she has for her son Luke shows and is the driving force in the book. She is such a devoted mum. We learn that Luke was premature but nothing of the effects of this. As a person who was born prematurely myself, this fact fascinated me and I felt it was something I could identify with and was interested in. I feel more background about Luke's birth and how Holly was affected by that or struggled to cope would have given much more depth to what both Holly and Luke had been through.
A chance meeting between Holly and Rich sets the past back in the present and the way this was done was effortless and realistic. Holly's gran is a real character with her love of fashion, cocktails and young-at-herat attitude.
Fran was a wonderful friend and I was so glad Holly had her, after all, it's often not so easy to keep up with friends after an absence and they have to be pretty special to stick around. Fran was bubbly fun and welcoming as well as a good listener. I kept asking myself if we'd see more of her story. Maybe in a sequel?
Funny, heartwarming with some realistic and raw moments for everyone. This will show you the true meaning of family and real support.
Another book to make you feel warm and fuzzy and totally relaxed, the pace is gripping but easy. I was glad to have found this book during a hectic time in my life when I needed to relax.
Thanks to Darcie Boleyn and Canelo for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review as well as a spot on the blog tour for the title.
Heartwarming and familiar, The House at Greenacres is like a comforting hug.
This is one of those books where you just want to step inside the pages and escape into the blissful world the characters inhabit. I don't know about you, but a holiday to Penhallow Sands would be very welcome - especially given the current state of the world.
The main character Holly is likeable and relatable. She's a caring mother to her baby son, Luke, and is devoted to her family and the family vineyard. Holly's surrounded by a wider cast of characters, from her beloved dad, Bruce, to best friend Fran, and her quirky granny Glenda. And, of course, there's Rich, Holly's ex.
Although I loved the characters and the setting, I did struggle with the plot. Admittedly, this isn't the longest book, but to be honest, not much actually happens in this book. The ending is obvious from the start and there are no twists or curveballs, so there is very little suspense. I did enjoy the book but I flew through it and was left wishing for something a little more memorable.
Despite that, The House at Greenacres offers a pleasant way to spend a few hours dreaming of happier times.
I would have liked to have given it more stars but I felt really disappointed with the end, it just seemed really flat and quite predictable; while the rest of the story was really good .

After the death of her grandfather, Holly Morton goes back home. It’s not an easy step, because a lot of memories connect her to the place; family moments, but also Rich, the man, who broke her heart.
Something has changed though, she is a mum now and decides to tell Rich that he is a father.
This story is a wonderful tale about love, family, relationships, and parenting, all included in a wonderful setting and atmosphere.
The storyline is full of ups and downs, magical moments and charm. It’s a bit predictable, but Darcie Boleyn’s writing totally makes up for it. I couldn’t stop reading!!!
The House at Greenacres is an absolutely outstanding magical novel by Darcie Boleyn which I thoroughly enjoyed – the cover is beautiful! As you read the book, you can imagine the characters in real life living in the lovely house and vineyard featured on the front cover.
Cornwall was brought to life in this very emotional story which is based in the beautiful setting of Penhallow Sands and centres on the lives of the wonderful characters, Holly, Luke and Rich, their families, their friends and Holly’s families wonderful vineyard - Greenacres. Throughout the book we are faced with the themes of grief, forgiveness, love, changing relationships, the importance of family and their vital loving support, hopes and dreams. You have to move forward in life, living for today and following your heart and I am so pleased that is exactly what Holly and Rich along with Luke did – a wonderful end to the book.
Such a lovely warm story which I thoroughly enjoyed. I am very much looking forward to reading Penhallow Sands 2 and I hope it is out very very soon as I would love to find out more about the relationship developing between Holly and Rich (and I hope they move into Plum Tree Cottage!) and also the other characters.
This review is based on a NetGalley ARC provided in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion.
Well let’s just say I devoured this gorgeous story within a week which for me is quick reading and I so wish I could have sat and read it in one sitting! I found the narrative of this story to be so easy to follow and I for one love that as then I can concentrate on enjoying the story itself. This is actually my first read of Darcie’s and I feel so bad for this as I wish I had read her books before now! I do have a few already on my kindle.
Let’s get onto the story.....we meet Holly who returns to Greenacres after a messy break up however she returns for a good reason. Even from these first few chapters I found myself having to hold back the tears as these events brought up some personal memories, which I’m sure rings true for a lot of readers of this book. We also meet Holly’s lovely granny and her father as well as her friends. Holly is my favourite character because of her determination to overcome various challenges in her life, I won’t go into these challenges as I would like for you to read the book too! I didn’t dislike any of the characters in this story.
I am now a huge fan of Darcie’s writing because of this book and I’m thrilled to see that ‘The House at Greenacres’ is the first in a series so this won’t be the last we hear about Holly and the gang. I felt like I was at Penhallow Sands myself and would actually love to visit the vineyards if I could! I am now eagerly awaiting the next in the series to see what happens next! 😊 I give ‘The House at Greenacres’ 4*/5*. Please go and read this book you won’t regret it.
Thank you to Canelo and Darcie for an advanced copy of this book via Netgalley.
Another wonderful read from the fabulous Darcie Boleyn, and it's great that this is the beginning of what promises to be a marvellous series.
Holly Dryden left her home, the family business at Greenacres, almost a year ago with a broken heart. When circumstances bring her back she's not alone, bringing along her son, 3 month old Luke. In no time at all she comes across the reason she left .. ex-partner Rich who is Luke's father - although he doesn't know it yet. Will Holly stay at home, or will she and her baby son leave again?
There's something really comforting about a tale of someone returning to the family home; this is a beautifully created story with lots happening! As well as the relationship between Holly and Rich, there is the family business to consider as well as the other family members, Rich's parents and Holly's friend Fran. Plus, of course - and no story from this author would be complete without them - the most wonderful rescue dogs! I already feel myself immersed in the wonderful location and look forward to learning so much more about everything connected to Greenacres. I'm delighted the author has resisted the temptation to educate our palates on the different wines which the vineyard produces, and has stuck to the emotions of the story. This is a fascinating tale, and it has room to grow. The cover deserves a mention too - it's just perfect for what the pages contain! Overall, this is a luscious read and my mouth is already watering for the next in series! Most definitely a super 5* read!
If you have read one of Darcie Boleyn’s previous novels, you will know to expect a warm and uplifting tale. The House at Greenacres is no exception.
Set in a country vineyard (is there ever a better setting for any book!) in Cornwall. I couldn’t imagine a more appealing setting right now than a warm summer’s day in the green countryside, surrounded by grape vines, friends, wine and frolicking dogs! Penhallow Sands sounds like a marvellous place and there is a wonderful sense of community running through the story.
As Holly returns to her childhood home for her grandpa’s funeral, she is apprehensive. She hasn’t ben home for a year and now she is returning with a small baby in tow. A baby who some people aren’t yet aware of… The reasons for Holly’s departure from Penhallow Sands quickly become clear. Slightly less clear is whether or not Holly can tear herself away from her beloved family and leave Penhallow Sands once again.
The book contains a wonderful cast of engaging characters, from sweet and resilient Holly and her loving and eccentric Granny Glenda to conscience-stricken Rich and his apologetic mother Lucinda. All the characters are well-rounded and believable, being both flawed but likeable. Rich has acted in a terrible way towards Holly, however the reader is taken past his actions and to the man beneath (or at least to the man Rich wants to be). He has recognised his flaws, accepted his punishment and now will he be given a second chance to make things right…?
Despite predicting the ending pretty early on in the book, this does not detract from the tale. It is an utterly charming novel, a heart-warming and enjoyable tale of family, love and second chances. A great spring time read!
I’m always so happy when I see a new book from Darcie Boleyn as her books are guaranteed to bring a smile to my face, I couldn’t wait to start reading!
There’s a wonderful mixture of humour and heartfelt moments as the characters deal with life, loss and maybe even second chances. Then add in a gorgeous setting and it all combines to make a wonderful story! I have to admit there were a few giggles when reading this book especially the conversations that Holly had with her gran! I think that we would all love a gran like Holly’s!
The House at Greenacres really was a joy to read and along the way I really hoped that Holly would get her happy ever after. I did on occasion have to shake my head at the characters but this all goes to show how involved I became in the story. There were also some minor characters that brought a lovely feel to the story such as Fran, Bruce and of course Holly’s Gran. Then add in the addition of rescue dogs and my heart definitely melted. Once again Darcie Boleyn has created an uplifting and beautiful story with characters that have flaws and feel realistic. Showing the effects of grief and how raw it can be but also forgiveness, love and support that comes from friends and family.
I’m so glad that this is the beginning of a new series and can’t wait to catch up with everyone at Penhallow Sands and get to know the characters even better!
This lovely romantic comedy combines second chance romance with an unexpected pregnancy. Set in coastal Cornwall with a host of realistic characters, this is the perfect holiday read.
Holly is a strong female lead, empowered by the birth of her son, she faces up to her past when she returns home for her Grandfather’s funeral. Rich’s life has not been easy, and losing Holly through his actions makes him keen to explore whether they have a second chance at happiness.
The plot is simple, but the characters make it enjoyable, with romance, humour, and more than a little angst making the path to true happiness for Holly and Rich peppered with conflict both internal and from external interference. The outcome is worth the rollercoaster ride and you’re left with a heartwarming feeling at the end.
If you’re looking for an escapist read, with vivid characters, a delightful coastal setting and a lovely blend of angst, humour and romance this is the perfect fit.
I received a copy of this book from Canelo via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Full of family and friends, The House at Greenacres is a heart-warming and enjoyable read. Holly proves to be a caring character who appreciates the life and community she has at Penhallow Sands. Rich turns out to be a harder character to read. You are gradually introduced to the demons in his past and to understand why he felt he could not commit to Holly. However, it takes time to get to know him and to see his hidden depths.
I particularly liked the secondary characters, especially Holly's grandmother. It was good to see how loved she was despite her eccentric behaviour and she certainly contributed some humorous touches to the story. You never get to actually meet Holly's grandfather as he has died before the story started but his strong personality lingers in the farmhouse. I can foresee a sequel to the story, especially centred around Holly's friend, Fran and fingers crossed, there will be one.
In short: A mix of family, friendship and beautiful Cornwall adds up to a great read.
I really struggled to get into this book, mainly as my grandad has recently passed away. I didn't read the blurb, I just knew Darcie's books normally give me a smile. Starting to read the book with "Because there it was. The coffin that held the body of her grandpa." I'll be frank and say that I gave up reading this book for quite a while for no other reason than personal feelings. I was not in the right headspace for this book and my rating probably reflects this.
Holly has returned home following the death of her grandfather. She has returned with a 3 month old son and is surrounded with secrets after departing abruptly the previous year. Unbeknownst to him, the father of her son is also at the funeral and he is cause of all of her heartache.
I assumed at the start of the book that Holly would be trying to keep Luke's father a secret. But it's revealed very quickly and just felt like it was made to be barely a plot point. It felt very predictable and like there wasn't a lot happening at times. The entire story is based on Rich trying to win Holly back and Holly liking him back throughout the book but not acting on it. It was a fairly sweet read with Holly wanting Rich and her family to have a relationship with their son and trying to make amends with those she left behind. Despite this, it was still an enjoyable read with charming characters.
Once more, women's fiction. Why, why alienate men? They read books like this too.
Well, I wanted to love this book, it sounded perfect for me but....it wasn't a bad read, but it wasn't one that filled me with excitement, one that kept me reading.
Somehow when everything came out I felt sorry for Rich, but I didn't feel that it was a valid reason for what he did. Likewise I found it hard to believe Holly would leave her loving family, even her grandfather who she adored, simply because he may disapprove. It all just added up to a tale I found hard to credit, and so I didn't really get pulled in to the story. That's me though, as always others will and do feel very different. Reading and enjoyment of stories is very subjective.
Stars: Three, a story that fell a bit short for me but which may be perfect for you.
The House at Greenacres by Darcie Boleyn is the first book in Penhallow Sands and a lovely romance perfect for an afternoon read.
After the death of her grandfather Holly goes back home after only a year of her leaving. Memories of her love with Rich are still hunting her. However, now she has their son to think of. She decides to tell Rich the truth even though she knows that everything between them is over.
Heartwarming and uplifting story about love lost and found again. Lovely characters and cozy atmosphere add to the charm of this story as we learn about what is looks like to run a vineyard. Even if the end was quite predictable it is still a charming love story with many romantic moments. Perfect read for romance lovers. I received an arc copy from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I doubt I will be reading any more of this author's work. Her books are fine. The storyline is believable. She has a good proofer and editor. The best part is she doesn't use British slang words that I have to keep going to a dictionary. (American slang I need a urban dictionary) It is her over the top liberal mindset. ie two single women in a bar. Two men come up to the table to be friendly....buy a drink, talk, dance. The women are so rude. Belittling them. Making themselves act like they can handle any situation with a guy and yet they say they were afraid of them. Mixed signals here. There were so many preconceived messages that were over clouding the plot of the story.
It had a happily ever after and that's what I wanted.
