"I was beginning to realize you could find peace in more places than just the confines of home."

Dallas Bryan wants one thing, to attend CalArts to study dance. With no funds for a dance team, her only option is being a cheerleader. But things change when Drayton Lahey crashes into Dallas's life. Drayton is completely wrong for her but the more time Dallas spends with Drayton the more she realises it might be time to forget what she needs and go after what she wants.

This was a cute, quick, and fun read that would be a good one to pick up for the summer to read by the lake or pool. It's a simple read that doesn't require any additional thinking (if that makes sense). Admittedly, even though it was a good read, it certainly isn't one that will leave a lasting memorable impression. It's the typical stereotype of a romance between a 'misunderstood' football star and a cheerleader that is relatable, quirky, and 'unlike the rest of the cheerleaders'. Both of thes ...more

We were headed to solid two-star territory until our main protagonist decided to blackmail her cheer captain nemesis with photos our hero (!) took of her in a sexually compromising position with an older man. Um, sorry, what the actual fuck? This is problematic for a host of very obvious reasons, and it’s just the most blatant example of a book riddled with a host of issues dealt with completely thoughtlessly like teen pregnancy and binge drinking and the entitled, toxic masculinity of the “over ...more

I was given this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

I'll start this by saying that if I read this back in middle school I'd probably have loved it.

No, not even high school, because high school me also would not have been able to get over how UNREALISTIC this is for a high school scenario. I think this book would've been 1000x better if they were college kids. Because the shit they did, drinking all the time even with their family, just going on a vacation without family

The QB Bad Boy and Me is a really cute teen romance. I could easily see this being made into a Freeform or CW TV series. There were some parts that seemed drug out or a little rough, but overall, I really enjoyed Drayton and Dallas's story.

Drayton is my favorite type of hero. Cocky. Sarcastic. Protective. Big Hearted. Sweet. And Dallas is my favorite type of heroine. Independent. Fierce. Loyal. Strong. The QB Bad Boy and Me also has fun and real supporting characters. Gabby, Josh, Nathan. All o

Wow, I loved this book! It was so cute and the characters were fun and it flowed so well. Dallas was so independent and didn't let people get her down. She's has a tough childhood, losing her parents and grandma, but she has goals and stands up for herself. I really liked that she wasn't afraid to say that she has sex and didn't let anyone shame her for it. Drayton was so sweet and the things he did to show Dallas he cared were adorable. Their relationship was great and I liked when they were ho ...more

Thank you to the publisher via Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.

The QB Bad Boy and Me started off quite slow and I almost gave up, I definitely didn't like Drayton initially and Dallas wasn't the most endearing character, As the book progressed so too did my feelings towards the characters but I still didn't love it.

Every now and then I love a good Y/A book filled with teenage angst and drama and Tay Marley's new book The QB Bad Boy and Me, has all those elements. So this story is about Dallas a cheerleader who is only a cheerleader because her school has no dance program and Dray, who starts out being a jerk but we quickly see that that's just a persona he uses to hide the softer side of him. I love how Dallas calls him out on his being a jerk an

I’ve seen a lot of lower stars on Goodreads but I have to admit I actually loved this book. I’m not usually a big fan of YA because I like more steam. But even those this book lacked it I truly enjoyed it. Both characters were loveable. At times I felt like they were older than high school students because of the drinking and partying but I don’t know maybe things are different than when I was in HS 20 years ago 🤣 My true only complaint is I wanted in Dray’s head. The QB Bad Boy and Me was a very cute YA/NA book and I really enjoyed reading it.

The story was funny and easy to read and even though it had some clichés, I still enjoyed reading about Dallas and Dray!

I do feel like some things were thrown in the story and didn't have the follow up they entailed, but other than that this was the kind of highschool romance I enjoy. It has the right ammount of sweetness so it was enjoyable.

And despite ha

Plot: Drayton and Dallas polar opposites. Drayton popular, social and he loves football. Dallas is unpopular, anti-social and she also love football. In fact that's how they met was because of football. She impressed him by having a good arm. One day Drayton accidentally hit her car and he went by her house to pay her back and hung out for awhile against Dallas's will. She wanted more than anything for him to leave but her brother insisted he stay for dinner. Soon him and her start hanging out m ...more

I found this in the erotica section of the used book store and purchased it under the assumption that what I was buying was indeed wattpad original erotica in published book format. Imagine my shock and horror, when I arrived at the first time the main couple has sex at over the halfway point, and it fades to black. Imagine my horror upon realizing that the erotica shelf is probably where some customer happened to leave it when they decided they were not going to buy it. Imagine my horror, when ...more

Theme: A funny, laid back, feel-good YA romance that covers every base a dramatic love story needs. Fairly cliche, but I could read about the same romance tropes every day and enjoy my life as a sappy romantic 🤷🏻‍♀️

I haven't read a lot in this genre, but I enjoyed this book. Here are the reasons why:

- The quality of writing was great!
- I liked that for a book that may look cliche, it actually breaks a lot of common stereotypes. For example, Dallas' character was far from the 'good girl' cliche. It was very refreshing.
- I loved the slow-burn romance
- I loved that the two main characters became friends first and it wasn't an insta-love situation
- I really appreciated that Emily was given depth and we got to

This was a sweet YA Romance. Drayton and Dallas are opposites on paper. He's popular and outgoing. She's studios and focused on her hopes for a scholarship. When they run into each other chemistry abounds and both their future goals and paths are changed.

It was a really promising read and I will definitely be looking out for more from this author.

I received an ARC of this book.

A light summer read, great for a day at the beach or by the pool, when you just want to relax and have a little fun.
It`s your typical high school romance, where the "good" girl falls for the "bad" guy and they live happily ever after.
It doesn`t bring anything new, but for all the hopless romantics out there is not gonna change anthing, we`ll still gonna love it.

Dallas is a cheerleader that has her whole dream college sorted and she`s trying to do whatever she can to make it happen. She`s very in

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Things I loved about this book: Um let's start off with anything sports related and I'm about it. Add in high school romance and I'm done for. The chemistry between Drayton and Dallas is phenomenal. Very swoon worthy!! I personally loved that this was about a boy helping a girl get through her baggage of shit instead of the other way around. So often I feel like we read about these girls who want to change the guys, but

Lmao I done even know where to start. The writing isn’t that great to be honest. Kinda expected this from a wattpad book but liek I thought it would’ve been better bcs it got ‘printed’ into a real book.
Anyways, so I wanted to read something really light and fluffy and believable but like this is just so unrealistic. What high school kid can afford a plane ticket to go to a different state when they get suspended. UNBELIEVABLE. And also the relationship was so not great bcs it wasn’t eve

This story follows a cheerleader named Dallas. She on the cheerleading team to have something on her college application not works toward getting her in CalArts. But she gets distracted by the big muscled bad boy QB Drayton.

For some reason I found myself struggling through this book. Something about the main character Dallas was hard for me to relate to. I find if I can't relate with the main character it's harder for me to e

Oh jheez. The guy isn’t even a bad boy. All he does is wear leather jackets, smoke and ride a motorcycle. How does that even... and the characters are so annoying. The lack of proper guardians is worrying. It’s extremely unrealistic and too cliche. But extra points for some of the descriptions used — that was a redeeming quality for the book.
