Saxon Bennett is an admitted bibliophile and has the bookcases to prove it. Her favorite book is Harriet the Spy. She grew up among the pine trees of Washington where she learned to be a Keeper of Odd Knowledge with a special liking for new words - the queerer the better. She has a penchant for inspirational quotes - the more motivational the better. A serious aficionado of pie, she also drinks a lot of coffee and tea - especially when she’s writing, which she does every day. Saxon is a parent and a wife—two things she never thought she’d be - and she writes blogs about her family in the style of Erma Bombeck. In her next life she wants to be a professional snowboarder. She likes to grow flowers and tend to her pond. Jelly beans, gummy bears and licorice are her favorite candies. An avid walker with a goal to walk every street in her small town, she hits the pavement each morning. To keep herself limber, she does beginner yoga. She’d like to learn to meditate but her mind is as restless as a squirrel trapped in a box. As an amateur seamstress, she is endlessly trying to create the perfect butch purse. Her favorite quote is “Man plans, God laughs.” Saxon is the author of fifteen novels. Her book Family Affair won the Goldie for General Fiction in 2009. She won the Alice B. "Was it too much to ask to have a partner who shared her common interests and life goals and didn’t mind plugging in the toaster each morning?"
Willy and Allistair are complete opposites and these opposites attract not only each other but mafia gangs too. MCs met due to a case of mistaken identity and pure desperation. No immediate sparks flew but bullets certainly did.. This was hilarious. My face and stomach hurts from laughing. I have happy tears. My friend thinks I've gone insane. I HAVE SO MANY FEELS and all happy ones. This book is filled with the most comical situations. It's the wackiest thing I have ever read.
Willy and Alli are so different yet so fabulous together. My only complaint was no real time to be with them as a couple, since they were always on the run from the mob trying to kill them, so they don't really get together til the end and there's no sex scene at all. (BahHumBug! Lol)
Where they run to and the people they meet along the way often had me laughing out loud, if not wheezing with tears in my eyes. It's very silly and zany, lots of slapstick and ridiculousness, but just what my funny bone wanted and needed.
Classic Saxon and Layce book (sounds like an HBO series), the laughs are frequent and numerous . It's a nice fluffy romantic comedy. Willy and Allistair, two complete opposites meet by chance and after some mistaken identity and witness to a murder, the two find themselves in witness protection and hilarity ensues.
Willy’s day could not be any worse, you could say if she didn’t have bad luck she would have no luck at all. At least that is how it seems in the beginning. Layce Gardner and Saxon Bennett are the perfect writing duo, especially when it comes to romantic comedy. Their characters and hilarious scenarios vividly reside in my mind. Willy’s character will steal your heart. The humor of Gardner and Bennett will have you laughing uncontrollably by page two and continue throughout. I had to stop reading so often because tears prevented me from seeing clearly, and it is hard to hold your book still while you are laughing. And I am certain you will come away with a new appreciation of your encounters with your own cat, or if you do not own one, any cat that looks your way. These stories would make perfect weekly sitcoms. They are engaging, full of humor and characters with bursting personalities. Let me just say you are really, truly missing out on a few hours of entertaining escape, which we all could use a little of today. I recommend Kiss & Tell many times over, as it is one book you will want to read again...I did!
Honestly, I almost didn't finish reading this book. Like I started reading it but got bored near the beginning. It was a little hard to get into at first, but I'm so glad I did. It was such a good read. Loved the character development. And true to the other reviews I read about it, it was very funny. The two main character's really did go on a ridiculous adventure, but it was such a fun ride. And the ending wrapped up nicely. It was a wonderful read and I recommend it to anyone who likes to laugh ( and I mean who doesn't? ). If your a little iffy at first just keep reading until they get to their witness protection place, the book will grow on you. Trust me.
Another riotous romp, full of laughs! This is a cute little adventure about two people that couldn't possibly be more different! With an added bit of a life-threatening situation thrown in to force them to really see each other, and you've got a fun little summer read. Can't wait for another from these two!
I think these authors write great together i have already read a couple of there other books I'm about to download the next one I'm looking forward to another great laugh
This is the second Layce Gardner book I've read and I loved it. I would definitely recommend this book to friends. Loved the main characters. This book is funny, quirky, engaging and overall a good read.
Lots of humor, but a little far fetched for my liking. Although I enjoyed the light reading, I typically look for a little more substance in my books. But overall the story was fun to follow and got a lot of giggles out of me.
These are my go to "I need a laugh right now" books. I have yet to be disappointed. Where Bennett and Gardner come up with their wild characters and scenarios is beyond me. They are comic geniuses! I really can not recommend them enough.
Two opposites meet under abnormal circumstances. Witnessing a murder by a chasing down a stolen bike the two ladies go through enough adventure that neither anticipated in escaping the bad guys.. Enjoy with a grin from upon finishing.
Yet another classy novel from the funny power duo. Well written story and characters that keeps you glued to the book. It was just what I expected and then some more.
Willie is having the worst day of her life. Her girlfriend cheated on her, she lost her job AND it's her birthday.
Allie was having a good day, until her blind date failed to show, Willie stole her sandwich, and the two of them accidentally witnessed a gangland hit.
Shoved into witness protection they must flee for their lives... and hopefully not kill each other too.
I had forgotten how silly they got in later books. Mind you, it's funny, but wacky.
(Also, why is Saxon no longer on the ebook cover? Weird.)
