Best. Book. Yet!!!

I could NOT put this one down!

Grace has amnesia stemming from a serious event that she (obviously!) has no memory of. Was it an accident or was it intentional? Was it due to a past career? Was she married or engaged? This as well as a hundred other questions are things she's been asking since waking up. This is the suspense filled journey that this phenomenal author takes us on!

I don't want to spoil the story for anyone because this one I definitely did not expect some of the twists and turns that this book took BUT I do want to tell you that this is a faith filled, non-stop action mystery that will keep you up reading!

I have first hand knowledge of some of the locations that the story takes place in and the description is SO real and in depth that I feel like I could vividly picture every single scene in this story.

Thank you Jessica R. Patch for yet another great book!!

Well this one sent me into a bibliophile tailspin of woozy delight. My brain is all in a muddled daze so finding words for a review is going to be tricky.

First, Recovered Secrets is full of the unexpected. That includes cagey plot twists that are directly linked to my befuzzled state. And I so love the way Patch brings humour into even the most desperate scenes. The word 'ninja' will forever bring a smile to my lips. :-)

I also love Grace's backstory -- or lack thereof. That kind of long term amnesia makes for some fascinating tension -- especially when it comes to the romance. Because Hollis has feelings for Grace -- the kind that goes beyond the special friendship they've developed over the past year and a half. Only how can Grace reciprocate when she doesn't know who she really is? And there's so much I want to say about that but I can't without posting spoilers which is uber frustrating Gah! Because Grace's story begs to be talked over.

And then there's the suspense -- wow -- just wow. Intricate and clever. It was so much fun trying to put the pieces together and when I had the light bulb moment before Grace and Hollis did I was beyond proud...only to discover that I was only half right and maybe a whole lot wrong too and then things happened followed by more things until my brain felt fried. Synapses are still sizzling as a matter of fact.

An action-packed thrill of a page-turner.

'Don't worry about me, Grace. I'm a big boy and this ain't my first rodeo.'

Two years ago, Hollister Montgomery pulled a nearly dead woman out of a Mississippi riverbank. Her named her Grace Thackery and sat with her for six months while she was in a coma. Now, she lives and works in the small town of Cottonwood, and volunteers with him at his job as a SAR person. Life is good, except Grace can't remember anything at all about her life. Then something happens that propels them both into a dangerous life. Apparently, Grace's life was not just a nice, happy-go-lucky life. Some really bad people want her dead. And Hollis determines to keep her safe.

I love Jessica Patch's suspenseful books! She is great at what she does and she does it well indeed here. I enjoyed every single minute of this book. We also get to meet some folks from previous books. Can I say Wilder Flynn? Yes! Patch takes her readers along for this hair raising ride into the realm of covert activities, spies and danger around every corner and nearly every straight away. Do not miss this one, folks. Highly recommended.

*My thanks to the publisher and author for a preview copy of this book. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Okay, if you want cute romance then Jessica R. Patch will deliver. I've read many romance books by her and loved every one of them.
However, if you want a page-turner, drop-the-mouth suspense, and action, with a twist of mystery, then she is also the author for you!
I think out of all the suspense books Jessica Patch has written, this is my favorite! OH MY!
It is so full of intrigue and adventures, there really isn’t time to breathe!
I was so taken from the very first page to the last. I actually read many parts out to my husband and he enjoyed them. There were lots of technical stuff I had to get his take on, and he said this author did really well in her depiction of things.
I loved all the quirky moments and banter between Grace and Hollister. There were so many fun comments, yet, also some really deep conversations between the two.
Grace had lost her memory and was just starting to remember things from her past she didn’t like about herself.
No matter what, she couldn’t change it, but she could move forward.
Isn’t that we all hope for if we’ve done anything that we regret? It’s only through the grace of God we can move on.
There’s a quote from this book which says it all:
“You can’t change the past, not the circumstances or your choices. All you can do is make better decisions and live honestly now. I mean, think about it. God knew all you did . . . and yet, He still rescued your heart when you walked down that aisle and cried out for Him to be your Lord and Savior. He saved you, Grace. By grace. You didn’t know what you’d done – but He did. And He loved you anyway.”

Jessica Patch truly knows how to paint a strong gutsy woman, yet also one who is very vulnerable. Grace had times where she could be a “ninja” and take down men like they were ragdolls. She also had a quieter side where she helped out in the inn and as a SAR volunteer.
The author paired Grace with a strong hunky guy. Hollister was an ex-Navy SEAL and had an overwhelming desire to protect Grace and those around him. Add these two together and you get lots of tension and swoon-worthy moments, as well as, heart-stopping action and drama.
Jessica Patch is a very skilled author who weaves intriguing stories which will grip your heart and captivate your soul. Her stories also have wonderful examples of how God can take a broken, worn and lost individual, and fill them with peace, and grace.
I was given this book by the author and all the opinions are my own!
I highly recommend picking up this book. However, I need to warn you, you might not get much sleep until you finish reading it!

With flooding, memory loss, and search and rescue, you’d think this book had plenty to keep you busy, wouldn’t you? But Jessica R. Patch kicks it into even higher gear with a heroine I will describe as a female Jason Bourne with a conscience.

Thanks to retrograde amnesia, Grace Thackery doesn’t remember anything before the last two years of her life. Her quiet life in little Cottonwood, Mississippi is upended when people start showing up trying to harm her. And she’s got some serious skills that kick in when she’s in danger. But where did she learn them? Is she a superhero or a supervillain?

The friendship between Grace and Hollister (the man who found Grace and is now her best friend), their bantering, Hollister’s encouragement and pride in Grace’s skills, and his assurance that no matter her past, she’s a new creature in her faith are all spot-on.

A strong female lead that can take on her attackers, a town slowly going underwater, and a plethora of people who want Grace dead had me zipping through Recovered Secrets from beginning to end. This is Patch’s best book yet.

I discovered new-to-me author, Jessica Patch, about 3 books ago and I've been in adrenaline pumping euphoria ever since! How does one fit so many intricate details in a shorter length LIS?...or better yet, how does she keep track of them herself?

The chemistry between Hollis and Grace is off the charts as they piece together dark secrets from Grace's past—one that she has no remembrance of. As madly as I was flipping the pages, I think I wanted to know who Grace was worse than she did! lol Between dodging whizzing bullets and bad guys around every corner, there's still time for humorous quips and romance between hero and heroine. Loved it when tough as nails Grace pointed her finger in Hollis's chest and said, "You. Don't. Own. Me." Not their best moment, but I sure liked it!

Interspersed is a life-changing spiritual thread and this quote in particular touched me because we've all been there before. "He doesn't want you or me or anyone wallowing in our messed up past. Ask for forgiveness, change your ways and live a life that honors Him." And that, my reader friend, says it all.

5 stars definitely for sure goes to this cool author. I'm now going to have to devour everything else she has written.
I loved this book from beginning to end and I couldn't put it down until it was finished! You should know me by now that is how I work.
I liked the setting this book takes place in! It allowed me to leave my house but in reality not really leaving it if that makes any sense. My hubby had to call my name twice before I actually heard him lol!!
There are some twists and turns that is sure to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck in some places of the book but that is what makes Jessica so very good at what she does and well too I might add!
I enjoyed how she has made Grace and Hollis the coolest team ever as they try and discover who wants Grace dead and why.
I'm not sure that I'd want to be in Grace's condition while doing that though!
This book sure keep you guessing! I think this is what I really enjoyed the most about Jessica's writing!! I also believe this would be an awesome Hallmark movie
I recommend this book if you need a great read!!
My thanks for this awesome book!! NO compensations were received and all opinions are my own.

RECOVERED SECRETS is a formula Love Inspired Suspense where the bad guys know every move the heroine makes before she does.

She's a Ninja. No. She's a doctor. No. She's an assassin. No. She's a sniper...

Grace doesn't know who she is, except the ones who are trying to kill her call her "Mad Max" and she has strange and unusual skills stored in her memory bank.

Hollis is a different sort of hero. Search and rescue and not a Navy Seal, an Army Green Beret or a Marine. Nor is he a police officer. He is an ordinary guy, overwhelmed by Grace and who or what she might be. And that scares him, because what if she's a criminal?

RECOVERED SECRETS is implausible, unrealistic, and contrived, but very well-written, a quick pace, and nonstop action that will have romantic suspense readers fumbling at the pages in a well-lit room to find out what happens next and who or what memories Grace is suppressing. You will not want to miss this story by Jessica R. Patch. It is truly an edge-of-your-seat read.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

What a thrill ride! This book was fast-paced and impossible to put down. The story took so many surprising turns, and I never knew what would happen next.

The amnesia trope is always hit or miss for me, so I went into this story with a slight bit of trepidation. No need to worry though, this was very well executed. I was immediately invested in Grace's life and intrigued about her past. With every new memory that surfaced, more questions were raised, and I couldn't read fast enough. I had to know the truth about who she really was.

If you're a fan of romantic suspense, you're sure to enjoy this story. I'm looking forward to reading more from Jessica R. Patch. She's quickly becoming one of my favorite authors in this genre.

Recovered Secrets is yet another exciting suspense by Jessica Patch that readers will want to finish in one sitting yet be disappointed that it has to end. Grace Thackery, the heroine was rescued at the point of death and has suffered from amnesia for nearly two years since. Suddenly it seems that someone wants her dead but she has no idea why. As bits and pieces of her memory begin to return, Grace also begins to exhibit some unique skills that have her and her friend Hollis wondering just who she really is.

Fast-paced and filled with suspense, Recovered Secrets held me captive until the very end. Unexpected twists and a perfect blend of action, danger, romance, and faith make this book a keeper in my opinion. I always enjoy this author’s novels and will continue to look forward to anything she cares to write.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by the author. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own.

I could not put this book down, I had to but it was 4 in the morning by the time I got there. This books so stinking good. The author literally draws you in and keeps the pace of the book going from beginning to end. I loved how Grace was named Grace, because after everything she faced she still was given grace and loved by some many and God included. I loved Hollis he hands down was my favorite. The other thing I really liked is the way the author described what was happening I felt like I was right there and I could picture what was happening. There were so many more things I really liked but I don't want to give anything away. I will say that in the end there is a huge surprise that I was not expecting. Grab this book you will not regret this amazing read. I received an advance copy from the publisher. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

I think Grace Thackery is my new favorite character from the Jessica Patch collection of books. Grace is a mystery even to herself since she had an accident and cannot remember her life before she met Hollis Montgomery. Hollis is the knight in shining armor. He finds her, rescues her and takes her under his wing while she works out the mystery in her life. I love Grace and the chemistry between her and Hollis. You will want to add this little mystery to your "to-be-read" list.

I really enjoyed this book for the most part. Grace is a strong, capable, kick butt heroine who doesn't need rescuing and can save herself. Can I just say HOW MUCH I LOVE THAT?! Can we have more of that in this line, please??? Strong women. We have been around forever and in 2019, it's more than ok to write about them! Hollis is a dreamy, sweet hero who appreciates all of Grace. The action was just right. The only thing I didn't care for (almost made this a 3 ⭐️ but ultimately strong heroine and complex plot kept it at 4) it got really surprisingly grisly at the end. Don't want to give any spoilers but the violence was TOO much! I'm shocked and disappointed Harlequin allowed that in this usually gentle faith based line. I read these as "safe books". I don't expect multiple deaths and broken bones, punches etc ALL in great detail. Unnecessary . That was disappointing. Ultimately though, overall it was a good book with a happy twist at the end. Next time, go easy on the violence please!

Recovered Secrets ( Love Inspired )
By: Jessica R. Patch
Wow, what a story. The author surely knows how to grab your attention right at the start and hold on to you. This is a Love Inspired Suspense and I loved it. The story and the characters, both were well written and well developed. What if you were washed upon the Mississippi river banks and no one knew who you was? Grace, is the name they gave her, and she did not know who she was or where she was from. Someone is trying to kill her and she does not know why. There are some strange things that she does that makes you wander about her. The author keeps you guessing till the end.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Prepare to be hooked from the first page! The latest novel from Jessica Patch had me utterly captivated and I couldn't put it down. While some scenes may stretch the limits of realism, Patch's impeccable writing style had me fully invested in every moment. With a fierce and dynamic female lead and a swoon-worthy hero, this book is a must-read for fans of action-packed romantic stories. Trust me, you'll be on the edge of your seat from start to finish!

Okay, I dnf this book. I'm sorry. It's 100% not Grace, it's Hollis.

The point where it started to grind for me I mentioned in an update, when Hollis hops on Grace's computer without permission or knowledge and GOES THROUGH HER BROWSER HISTORY TO SEE WHY SHE WAS ON HER COMPUTER WHEN HE GOT BACK! The justification given was basically "Well she's acting weird so it's okay." Excuse me? You just broke into someone's personal device to CREEP HER BROWSER HISTORY!!! THAT IS NOT OKAY!!! THAT'S SHADY AS @#$%! And he doesn't tell her...but that's okay, she's acting weird. $%#@$ hell no!! THIS IS NOT OKAY, EVER!!!!

So, speed forward through finding out Grace can put a sniper rifle together in record time and shoot a leaf off a branch, take out a full grown man and tie knots like a boss. They're trapped in Hollis's house, trying to avoid bullets and their only way out is a dash across an open space and into 'the forest.' Hollis tells her to go and to keep going even if he's not there, BUT DOESN'T EXPLAIN WHY! Just orders her off and expects her to listen.

She obviously has training. She obviously cares for him, but she's just supposed to ditch him without question because he orders her to run and not look back? Pft, please! And then she says something to the effect of "don't give me a sexist rant." and then he kinda does but she's fine with it because he said he cared about her. Oooooo...no.

Then they hop in the cop car and the two boys make all the plans and just ignore Grace in the back, who has to insert herself to give her consent to the the involving her THAT THEY DIDN'T ASK HER FOR? Seriously? Then Hollis gets all pissy at the thought of her wearing Cord's clothes. Grow up dude.

I really wanted to read this because Grace seemed like was she going to turn into a kick ass Hero from the DEA or CIA or something, but I will never know cause Hollis makes me want to toss this book, just a little bit. Guh!

1.5 stars bumped up to 2 for Grace, the rest was aggravating.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Recovered Secrets. I really enjoy Jessica's work. This is an excellent example of her books. This story is well written, action packed and full of faith. This a great read and I know you are going to love it. I love the line where Grace tells Hollis,"I'm a ninja!"

Grace Thackery was found by the river two years ago. She was beaten and left for dead. She had been in a coma for six months. when she finally woke up she remembered nothing of her past. She was rescued by the director of the search and rescue unit. He has been a great friend. She would like more but that wasn't possible when she didn't know if she was free to love. A man comes to her apartment and knows who she is but before he can tell her much he is shot. Now her memories start to slowly come back but these memories don't look good. Is she on the wrong side of the law? Who is out to kill her and why?

Search and Rescue Director Hollis Montgomery found the beautiful woman lying on the edge of the river. he thought she was dead. He brought her in and would come see her while she was in the coma. He is drawn to here. He knows there can't be a future for them but he must be a part of her life. As she starts to remember he wonders what kind of a life she could have led. Can he keep her safe while an assassin comes after her?

A journey of discovery as she slowly begins to remember her former life while running from specially trained killers. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too; a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life.

I read this book a couple months ago and absolutely loved it! Jessica R. Patch is definitely one of my favorite suspense/mystery authors and her books always keep me guessing. I was super excited to learn this would be Hollister’s book (Greer’s brother) and was hooked from the very first page! I’ve yet to find one of Ms. Patch’s books that doesn’t leave me wishing there were more hours in the day to read and this one is certainly not the exception.
Okay, so I admit it; I’m a sucker for amnesia stories. I’m not entirely sure why, but I find them extremely interesting. That being said, I actually haven’t come across that many of them. Of the few that I have read though, I would have to say that this one is probably my favorite, so far. I thought Ms. Patch did an excellent job of capturing the confusion, fear, and uncertainty that must surely go with it. I loved Grace from the first couple pages, especially after she yells, “I’m a ninja!” Her story kept me on the edge of my seat, having to know what was going to happen next! I loved Hollister’s loyalty and determination to remind Grace of who she is, even as she’s learning who she was. I so appreciated the theme of God’s grace and forgiveness that was woven throughout the story. It never seemed trite or contrived, but rather perfectly suited the situation the characters were facing.
Overall, I immensely enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it!

I love the way the reader is introduced to Grace--in a very homey kitchen with cinnamon rolls after having learned what little she knows about herself. Don't let this lull you into settling down to a calm reading session. Things are going to change quickly! Recovered Secrets grabbed me and didn't let go until after I finished the story and a note from the author that's in the back of the book. I really meant to quit about halfway through and go to bed and finish it the next day. Technically, it was the next day when I finished, around two in the morning. I loved the main characters, Hollis and Grace, and their faith. They had to adjust to so many different possibilities about Grace's past. Grace's first consideration is hilarious. The plot had many twists and turns. It definitely kept my interest. I highly recommend this book to Christian fiction readers and to romantic suspense readers. I have loved everything that I've read by Jessica Patch and intend to keep reading her work. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this excellent read.

There are three things that I know that I will find when I pick up one of the author' books.
1. Non stop suspense/action. I will be taken on a adventure that is filled with twists and turns.
2. A cute romance - sweet romance weaved into the suspense.
3. Biblical Reminder of God's love and redemption.
I feel like each book that I read by this author gets better and better. She always creates memorable, unique characters. Each of her storylines are action packed, filled with twists and turns and will keep you guessing. In this book, we meet Grace and Hollis. Grace can't remember her life - but she knows one thing... SOMEONE wants her dead. Enter Hollis. He wants to protect her - but when they start to piece together her past - will her secrets squelch the budding romance. Will he be enough to protect her?
This book is NON STOP from the first few pages. Make sure you have some time to read - you will not want to put it down.

I received a copy of this book through the author --- all thoughts are my own.

Recovered Secrets was a somewhat enjoyable read. The main character lost her memory two years prior so she doesn't remember her life. Now someone wants her dead and she doesn't know who or why. You can imagine how terrible that would be.

I always enjoy amnesia stories and that part of this book was fabulous. I loved how the amnesia happened (won't spoil, but it was unique!). I didn't particularly care for the moments where the story seemed unbelievable. Things would happen that just seemed…unlikely. The heroine's actions also bugged me at times.

The romance was nice. I really liked Hollis and the how he believed the best about Grace even after certain revelations.

All in all, Recovered Secrets was a nice read. I liked it.

Her past may be deadly...but for whom?

Jessica R. Patch is always good for some surprises, each of her books always has the unexpected, an element that leaves you doing a double or even triple-take. But Recovered Secrets was something else entirely! Would you believe that her heroine could possibly be [redacted] who [redacted] because [redacted]?! Seriously, I've never met a heroine quite like her in a Love Inspired Suspense before.

As I probably say all the time when talking about a Jessica R. Patch book, I think that Recovered Secrets is my favorite. While the amnesia plot is pretty well used, and overused, the totally unexpected direction that Jessica R. Patch takes it was quite different. And I loved it! You can't go wrong picking Recovered Secrets as your next Love Inspired Suspense read!

This was the first book that I have read of Jessica's. This was AWESOME. I always associated Harlequin books with sex scenes, but this book has none! They aren't even necessary, you can feel the love develop between the two main characters. There is scripture throughout the book, but it totally fits.
I REALLY enjoyed these 2 characters and they even had me laughing at times. Hollister is really patient with Grace, even though she has no idea who she is or where she came from. There is A LOT of action, starts off early in the book and doesn't let up. I couldn't figure out who was trying to kill Grace and don't think I could have either. That's ok. I love that her story kept me guessing.
I fell in love with the authors writing style, that I just knew I had to have the rest of her books. Only a couple more to find!

The book was pretty good, and I would definitely read it again. Hollis and Grace play off each other extremely well, and their banter is fun and mood lightening. The action scenes were pretty good as well. I liked when Grace would discover a new memory and just seeing how it would affect both her and Hollis. One of the things that bothered me a bit was that it really predictable when something would happen, and I understand that Grace has two or three different groups that are after her, but they would go somewhere alone, and immediately, I would know that something bad would happen. Then the place was never talked about again, like with Hollis' home. There were a few other things that bothered me, but overall, it was a really good quick.

What a wonderful new read from Jessica Patch!

Hollister Montgomery and Grace Thackery’s story is riveting and thrilling! The action is non-stop as these two brave their way through danger after danger, trying to stay alive in a little town in Mississippi called Cottonwood.

Grace, who suffers from amnesia because of an earlier attempt on her life, is being hunted down again. Hollis, a Search and Rescue Agent ( who rescued her when she was left for dead), joins Grace, and fights with her and for her.

As the dangers intensify, so do Hollis’s and Grace’s feelings for each other. It’s s beautiful story of trust, loyalty, and love!

You won’t be able to put it down! Excellent read!!!!

Ok Jessica you did it again. You managed to write a book that is hard to put down again. I love tge storyline you used for it could be a page from anyone's life. I love Grace Thackery. The strength you give her. Plus the bond you have her have with Hollis Montgomery. I love the humor that is used to make a situation easier. I also found the way you drew out the memories for Grace was well done. The way you did the mystery, action and humor worked well in this story. I also liked the way there is others from previous stories in the book. It was hard to say bye. But I look forward to the next story by this phenomenal lady.

This book is a quick read. There are many twists and turns in the story line, that keeps the reader turning the pages. Hollister Montgomery and Grace Thackery are very intriguing characters. He's an ex Navy seal. Grace is trying to figure out who she is, literally she has amnesia. Someone is trying to kill her, but she has no idea why. Will she survive, will she get her memory back, will she find someone to trust and love? Recovered Secrets holds the keys to Grace's answers. Thanks Jessica Patch for another memorable book experience.

Jessica has written what I believe is her best work in her 10th book for LIS. The story is about Grace who has amnesia. She has a new life now but slowly her old life starts to creep back in. As her old life and her new life meet with full force she must find a new normal. In the midst of running and fighting for her life with the man who saved her life.

Grace and Hollister are strongly written and carefully developed characters. The trauma that Grace experiences is so well written you feel the torment she goes through trying to find out the truth.

Hooked on page one and reeled in quickly!

Not all suspense books are created equal. Many books take awhile to gain momentum and some never achieve any sense of the real world. Not this read! Not only is Grace a relatable and lovable character but Hollis is not threatened by her and is in fact able to "tame" her wild side with gentle spiritual reminders and a quirky sense of humor. Loved this book from beginning to end and have added many of the Jessica R Patch's books to my wish list!
This book was a gift from a friend and all opinions stated within are my own.
