The Kennedy Boys #10

Reforming Kent

Rate this book
An angsty, emotional new adult romance from USA Today bestseller Siobhan Davis. Stand-alone with an HEA and no cliff-hanger.

Kent
Rogue. Troublemaker. Bad Boy. Delinquent.
Everyone thinks they know who I am, but they know nothing.
And that's how I prefer it.
Keeping my demons under lock and key is my only survival tactic.
Until a gorgeous feisty bartender enters my life, turning it upside down. Presley captivates me in a way no woman ever has, and I can’t get her out of my mind.
She’s determined to resist me, but I’m equally stubborn and more than up for the challenge. Winning her trust, and her heart, becomes everything because she shows me a future worth fighting for.
But the consequences of my tortured past are far-reaching, and if I don’t let her go, I'll only drag Presley down this dark hole with me.

Presley
Since I aged out of the foster system, I’ve worked hard for my dream future, and it’s so close.
Too close to let some arrogant rich playboy distract me.
I’ve heard all about Kent Kennedy, and with my history of troubled bad boys, I need his attention like a hole in the head.
Except he’s nothing I expected and everything I never dared to dream of. As I slowly uncover the truth, I discover a broken man with a big heart who desperately needs someone to see him.
I want to be that person, but his demons loom large, and I don’t know if I’m strong enough to do this again.
When the past rears its ugly head, shattering everything, will there be anything left of my heart to protect?

The setting: Mattapan, Boston, Harvard Law School

The Hero(s): Kent Kennedy – His family is famous and he is a playboy with issues. He is serious about school during the week, but parties like there is no tomorrow on the weekends. He does drugs and gets wasted every weekend and goes home with different girls every all the time.

The heroine: Presley – a bartender and an art student. She is one of the managers of a bar called the the Ramshackle where Kent hangs out. She wants to eventually own her own Tattoo shop, so she is saving her money to pay for art school and a Tattoo apprenticeship.

The Love Story: Kent meets Presley one night at the bar he hangs out at on the weekends and can’t get her out of his mind. Presley is attracted to Kent who is famous, tall, good looking and muscular, but she is leery of dating a guy who goes home with different women every night. Kent makes some changes for Presley and romances her by sending her gifts and flowers with little notes and Presley eventually gives in.

This book is a standalone but also is number 10 in the Kennedy Brothers series. I haven’t read any of the previous Kennedy brothers books so my take on it is as a first time reader of the series. The entire Kennedy family is included in the book and Kent is one of the triplets (along with Keanu and Keaton). The family is integrated well into the standalone book, though one thing I couldn’t really figure out is why this family is so famous. Is it one of those things were they are just famous for being rich (like Paris Hilton) or is one member of the family famous so they all are in the limelight?

Other than that everything is explained pretty well and I like the family involvement. Kent has an issue with his brother Keaton being gay and marrying his partner Austin, but it is all very mysterious and seems to have more to do with something that happened to Kent a long time ago and the fact that nobody in his family was there for him at the time.

At the time of writing this, I am less than 30% done with the book and I bet we can all guess what the nature of that thing that happened to Kent is which resulted in his homophobia. I am pretty sure this is not a spoiler since I see references to it in some of the reviews from Keaton’s book, so I am not giving away any more than what was in that book. I would like to say though that the storyline is certainly interesting and I loved the way it was handled. Kent was terrific at his brothers wedding.

Kent isn’t the only one with issues, though. Presley has an ex that is a drug addict and still in her life as well as a foster brother she feels closer to than if they were blood related and he is a bit of a shady character. There is a lot of conflict in this story by Siobhan Davis is quite a great storyteller so it all comes together so well. The last half of the book was so terrific. I thought I knew exactly what was going on but I had no idea and was completely flabbergasted. I love it when a story is unpredictable like that. 👏.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Wow... I thought I hated Kent... I absolutely do not. Man do I feel for him.

After reading Keaton's book, I kind of figured what would happen in this one... but it was so much more complicated than I thought it would be.. and worse.. much worse. Heartbreaking is what I would call it.

I absolutely devoured this book and fell deeply in love with both Kent and Presley. Not to mention all the brothers...except for Kaden... he is on my shitlist.

There are many many triggers in this book, but if you can deal, you should really give this one a go. I would highly suggest reading at least Keaton's book first. It is an MM book (which I love), and it shows a lot of Kent's issues. I know some don't like reading MM books but you are really missing out of you skip Keaton's book... just saying ;)

Now if you'll excuse me.. I have to go back and read some of the other books in this series I skipped since I like doing things ass-backward... That said, these books can be read as stand alone's, but I really believe Keaton should be read before Kent ;)

An unforgettable and emotional love story with the perfect send off as we say goodbye to our favorite family. She saved the best for last! This story is a whirlwind of emotion from angst to heartbreak...I felt it all! I never thought Kyler would be knocked out of the top spot, but Kent quickly stole my heart with his vulnerability and his incredible strength to overcome.

This story is truly a journey. From falling in love for the very first time to acknowledging the pain and hurt from the past, this romance will put you through it all. I read this story in one day because the author draws you in with the incredible characters she created within this series. Kent had a story that needed to be told. It was relevant and she pulled no punches when it came to the rawness and honesty with which it was told. I was moved beyond words and even with the sadness, it was a story of hope, new beginnings and the power of love.

I am so sad to see this series end, but it was one that will stay with me. I adored everyone of these characters and the hours I spent reading their love stories was time I became part of their world and I loved every minute.

Enjoy this beautifully told story of resilience. The path is not easy, but it's worth it.

'Reforming Kent' is the last book of the Kennedy Brothers series by the best selling author Siobhan Davis. I really never thought I'd say this , but it's official, Kent's my favourite now!😂

Right from the beginning of this series, Kent was the character that Intrigued us the most. His explosive behaviour , along with his very rare vulnerable moments just drew me towards him and His book became my most anticipated read! We all had guessed that something very huge had happened with Kent to make him this way, but it was the suspense of what had me clutched to this series.

Kent one of the youngest triplets of the Kennedy boys. He is the black sheep of the family. The one who always gets into trouble , the one who is always ignored. But this is the reason he is the way he is. And no one in his family ever bothered to find out why. All he wanted was someone to see him. To give shits enough to ask him about his behaviour. But none did and he became even more reckless. Drugs and Girls were his escape and that is something he did in abundance. That is until he met a certain spitfire at a bar.

The moment Presley sees Kent Kennedy walk through the door of the bar , she recognises him. The man has a reputation of being reckless and she knew all about men of his category. The last thing she wanted was to become another notch on his belt. Even though the man tempted her to break all her rules and to just give in. Resisting him was going to be a tough job.

For the first time in his life , Kent has to work to get a girl's attention. He has to WOO her , which is an absolutely horrifying concept to him. But he still does it. There is something about Presley that pulls him in and he is not letting her go. But he knows she is going to leave when he messes up. Because he always does.

I always knew that Kent's book was going to be the most explosive one of all the Kennedy's , but I seriously didn't expect to be so shocked! My heart hurts so much for him. Kent has to be the most broken character of all the Kennedy Brothers and I am absolutely in awe of how Siobhan shaped him to make us fall in love with him even more. His struggles had tears springing to my eyes and all I can do is to warn you , that you all need to go into this book blind!

Siobhan seriously didn't hold back this time , giving us a full view of the most notorious of the Kennedy Brothers and I can bet you that by the end of this book , there is no way that you will love his broken soul the most! A definite recommendation to all the contemporary romance lovers out there. Even though this book is Standalone and can be read as so , it is my personal suggestion to read the series before reading this book. It definitely makes the whole experience an unforgettable one!

FEELINGS. I’m overcome by them- stunned and raw. Siobhan has saved the most challenging, most harrowing, most complicated Kennedy story for last- this one may have hurt the most, but it is also the most rewarding. The hardest to like Kennedy is somehow the easiest to love.

These Kennedy men and their loves have been THROUGH IT. But no one, perhaps, as much as Kent. His story is unexpected, emotional, riveting, and haunting. This book will rock you- unsettle you, but it will also move you. Because for nine books we’ve blindly watched this character self-destruct, watch him unravel and destroy relationships and cause others pain. While every other Kennedy has found security and stability- found PEACE and contentment- Kent has been standing in the dark, drowning in pain and secrets. Everything we knew about him is wrong- the facade of the womanizing jerk, the partying antagonizer, the hateful and hurtful anti-hero is shattered by this story. And in doing so, Siobhan shatters a piece of us, too.

Kent and Presley are the embodiment of the redemptive and rehabilitative power of unconditional and compassionate love. How love can save and heal. Kent is an undisputed asshole- he knows it, we know it, his family knows it. Heck, even Presley knows it. But Presley awakens something in him- gives him a light, some hope, some freedom. In wooing her, we see the real Kent, as he lets her in, he lets us in too. And this is not a Kent we know- a sweet and vulnerable man with so much heart, a man more fragile than we could ever realize. He’s charming and considerate- the type of man who writes meaningful love notes and sends flowers. A man so easy to love you wonder how no one could see this version of him. And Presley? She’s just as magical- I loved her instantly. This woman, too, has been through it. She’s resilient, compassionate, and SO very loving. But she, too, is fragile...she too has masked pain. Both of these characters are so tragically lonely- surrounded by loving people but somehow entirely alone. Everyone around them has somehow failed them. Until each other- until the love jars them so thoroughly that it gives them hope. Peace. Light. The true connection that both have them have been robbed of their entire lives. And for Kent, oh that hurt my heart- because this amazing family, this beautiful group of men and women I adore, have missed seeing him entirely. And I did, too. Both of these characters are so brave, so beautifully broken, so sweet and courageous. My heart swells with love for them.

What perhaps is the most captivating about Siobhan’s narrative approach is how she contrasts Presley and Kent’s romance with their inner turmoil. There is a beautiful juxtaposition of the sweet and light with the dark and disturbing. The love story here? It is easy- perhaps the easiest we’ve read in the Kennedy series. These two fall fast and quickly for each other- authentically slipping into an easy familiarity, a connection sweet, and pure, and blissfully grounded and mature. There is such a marked lightness, a simplicity to their coupling. Of course, that doesn’t change their baggage- Presley is scared of getting hurt by the notorious playboy, and she has her own past pains. And Kent, oh, sweet Kent just doesn’t want to mess this up- he wants to be WORTHY. But their connection is so electric, so intimate and TENDER- they can’t help but be consumed by it regardless of their fears and turmoil. They jump in so vulnerably, but so naturally. For the first time ever they can just BE. This is chemistry somehow intense and gentle, fierce and soft- they make each other feel it all. And we feel it, too. Siobhan give us that peace, that achingly beautiful sweetness, and then she shrouds us in truths that hurt, painful realities and experiences. The dark “Give me your truths, Kent. Even if those truths hurt. At least it will be real.” And Siobhan gets real- unflinchingly so- she gives us the truths. And they are not easy- they are raw. They hurt. And what was a sweet and innocent love now becomes dangerous to them both- because they unexpectedly find aspects of each other’s lives triggering. Pushing them to do something neither has been able to do before- confronting their pain. And only their love can make it safe to do that- give them the courage.

But Siobhan also shows us that the love of another is not enough on its own- not if you don’t love yourself. Both characters are drowning in aspects of themselves. Alone in the violent waters that have engulfed them. Their connection is so powerful, so catalyzing that it pulls their heads out of the water. Their love inspires survival, is the proverbial life vest in the water- but even so, when you’re drowning you have to be the one to grab the vest. You have to want to be saved, to be willing to save yourself. If not, you still drown. And sometimes you have to break completely before love can glue you back together- before you're ready to reach for survival. THIS. OH THIS. This is what makes Kent and Presley’s story so impactful- the parallel journey of two people sweetly and easily falling in love right alongside the turbulent, painful, and challenging journey of those same two people desperately battling to save themselves, fighting to be brave enough to work on their own stuff so that their hearts can fully belong to each other. Being whole with someone else means also being whole with yourself. Siobhan is giving us a story about one of the most courageous and bravest acts we can take as humans- facing ourselves. It isn’t just surviving life’s tribulations that make us brave, although certainly that alone is magnificent. But for Kent and Presley the greatest act of bravery is doing the self-work it takes to THRIVE despite their adversity. To heal. That is what makes them “truly brave.”

That journey is the reward. Kent and Presley have a love so epic that it rebuilds them, but it also reshapes them. This isn’t just about the two of them putting each other back together- this is about both of them inspiring each other to change how the pieces are assembled. The phoenix rising from the ashes. Being reborn. REFORMED. And you can’t help but feel a little be reformed yourself for having walked this journey with them.

I can not believe it is time to say goodbye to this menagerie of amazing characters. This dramatic, over the top, intrusive and angsty family that I am so addicted to. But I can’t help but marvel at how Siobhan has let this story come full circle. Back to its roots. This whole series hasn't really been about the drama, that soap operative existence of the Kennedy’s- because the drama doesn’t matter. It doesn't define them. What does is how this family grows, evolves, and comes together to survive and thrive despite it. How they figure out how to love each other, and themselves, just right. And in this world, love isn’t always timely, or easy, or neat or normal, but it is restorative, it is liberating. And, most importantly, it is brave. Thank you, Siobhan, for their magic.

PS- this didn't fit anywhere else in this review, but I can't not say that the triplets have now completely stolen this series for me! And this story, this is all of theirs. I adore them.

This is a book that I wish I could wipe from my memory and read it all again for the first time! GAHHHH S Davis has me all up in my feelings after finishing this fantastic series finale of the Kennedy Boys. I'm sad. I'm in awe. I'm heartbroken. All while my heart is full of love and happiness for all of these characters and brothers. I'm so not ready to say goodbye to them, but this author wrote the perfect ending for this family, and especially for Kent.

Truth - I started this series with Keven's book. I loved it so much I had to go back and start from the beginning and proceeded to fall for every one of these characters. BUT - I was drawn to the bad boy Kent from the start, and just knew his book and story would be my favorite. I had recently finished Adoring Keaton so I was fresh off the "Kent is an A$$ of epic proportions train" all while knowing his book would uncover his darkest secrets. But I was not prepared for what his story entailed. I was not prepared for the heartache, dark past and tragic experience that he went through and kept to himself for several years. As his story unfolds in this book, and his heart cracks open for Presley, you will see a side to this cocky and charming playboy that will make you empathize with him and understand his past behavior.

I loved Presley from the get-go. She's feisty, bold, edgy, and doesn't take crap from anyone. She put Kent in his place from the beginning and that is what drew him to her initially. She was a challenge for him. They both have strong personalities and became the other's "rock" and support system at many points in this book, but what I especially loved were the moments when both of these strong characters allowed their vulnerabilities to show to others - to Kent's family, and to Presley's friends. When both of their walls came crumbling down not only to each other but to others is when all truths were laid out and trust was given easily. The relationships were natural, real and raw. I felt every emotion from Presley and Kent, as well as from the others. Their relationship between Kent's family was just as vital as the relationship between them, and I loved every bond that was made - especially between Presley and Kent's brothers.

The secret of Kent's past is very dark and difficult to read. Yet it was written in such a way that is so true to victims like him. The guilt, shame, and everything else Kent was feeling allows the reader to connect to him on such a deep level that I was crying tears of both heartbreak and joy for this selfless hero throughout the book. His deep sense of loyalty, possessiveness and protective nature all make him one hero I will not forget for a long time.

This couple, family and cast of characters are some of my all-time favorites and this book was a bittersweet yet perfect ending to this series. Bravo S Davis!!!! This is one I will read again and again and I have my fingers crossed that we may see these characters once again in the future!

I honestly cannot stop the tears as I finish Reforming Kent. My heart is so overwhelmed with intense emotions and it's overflowing. Siobhan Davis saved the best for the last for sure. She dragged me through emotional hell, broke me and then put me back together. What an epic, inspiring and riveting saga of redemption , resurrection and finding true love.

Kent Kennedy has been always labelled as the black sheep of the famous Kennedy family. Reckless. Careless. Volatile. But he is trying to start fresh and working hard for his Law degree at Harvard. And the sassy and beautiful bartender he met at a rundown bar seems to be a part of his new beginning. Presley isn't like the countless women after his fame and money and face. She resisted till she was sure Kent wants more than a casual fling. But Presley's past has secrets and Kent is hiding his demons. This is a recipe for disaster and both of them are going to get destroyed. Can love help them?

I am really feeling very emotional as I have spent so much time with this family. I know the ups and downs of each brother and I have been there for all their complex love stories. It's like an ending of a golden era and it's bittersweet for sure. I feel Kent's story is the most angsty, most heartbreaking and most difficult story of the series. My heart is breaking for this misunderstood, broken, vulnerable, angry and gorgeous man. I cannot imagine the depth and intensity of his pain. The author didn't hold back while going inside his head and damn I feel every single feel in my own heart. He may feel he is damaged, irreparable, ashamed and helpless. But I feel him to be brave and strong and resilient. He acts out by doing irrational things, trying to self destruct, seeking oblivion in addiction and pushing everyone away. But he has the most beautiful heart. I love him so so much.

And someone broken like Kent needed someone amazing like Presley. She didn't have it easy in her life. A traumatic childhood. Lonely in this world except few good friends. She has lost so much. Seeing her fierce way of loving and living is truly awe inspiring. She embraced Kent's darkness and healed him piece by piece. Their story wasn't easy. It was complicated and messed up and chaotic. So many things and accidents tried to demolish their connection. But what they have is truly precious. The author made me feel the strength and intensity and magnetism of their love deep in my soul. It was surreal. I have no words. Steamy. Angsty. Swoonworthy. Heartaching. Heartwarming. All consuming. So many adjectives and I still fail fo capture how brilliant this story is. The whole family came together for a last hurrah and I just don't want it to end.

Siobhan Davis owns my heart and soul. Completely. Reforming Kent was better than perfection. It was that kind of story that made me cry from the aching emotions and left a permanent mark on my soul. Book hangover of the year!

Wow, so that was definitely what you'd call a stunning conclusion of the series.

I confess, I haven't read all the books in The Kennedy Boys but I've read about half of it and now it all makes sense.

I had my suspicions about what happened to Kent in the past but I couldn't pinpoint exactly when and who made him that way. I honestly did not expect that plot twist. He was my most disliked Kennedy boy and now after reading his story, he's now my favorite.

People should always look beyond the surface. There is always a story behind every @$$hölë or bîtçhy behavior...

This is a story about two people finding a real connection in this chaotic and twisted world... both Presley and Kent have gone through so much in their young lives... I can't even begin to imagine... this is a story about resilience and finding love in a hopeless place—as what Rihanna sang.

This book might trigger you because it talks about all the abuse you can think of—drug, physical, mental, emotional... etc. so please read with caution.

Wow!!!
What a fantastic way to wrap up an amazing series.
This book alone proves why this author will always be one of my favourites. She certainly doesn't shy away from the tough subjects that's for sure.
This book may be a rough read for some but I applaud the author for handling a taboo subject with the respect and dignity deserved.
No one should hide or struggle alone.
If anything is to be taken from this book, it's to make sure those around you know they have a safe space to reach out to, and that speaking out may save lives.
With wonderful characters and a plot that will send you on a rollercoaster of emotions, I throughly reccomend this thought provoking book.
I'm going to leave the review right here, as so much happens within these pages, it's something that needs to be experienced first hand.

"You're so beautiful... and i'm the luckiest asshole on the planet."

Reforming Kent is the final book in The Kennedy Books series. This was a great payoff to Kent's journey and what little we found out about him in the previous books. It really was a satisfying and beautiful ending to this story.

Kent&Presley were wonderful and i'm so happy we finally got to see Kent fall in love. I have been waiting forever and it didn't disappoint. But the romance wasn't the only good thing about the book, all the family moments got me emotional and we got some long awaited moments.

I'm going to miss this crazy family and all these beautiful couples. ♥

notes: this book has trigger warnings, so be aware of that before you read it.

❝Give me your truths, Kent. Even if those truths hurt. At least it will be real.❞
Talk about saving the best for last… my troubled, bad boy, black sheep’s story is finally here! 😍😱

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝟔/𝟓 𝑂𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑅𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔: Reforming Kent , book number TEN of the Kennedy Boys Series, and the long-awaited and HIGHLY anticipated conclusion to the series that made me fall in love with Siobhan Davis’s writing. Although Reforming Kent IS a standalone, I absolutely recommend reading the rest of the Kennedy Boys Series in order to gain a better grasp and understanding of the Kennedy family dynamic, as well as to have a better reading experience. the Kennedy Boys Series is about a dysfunctional family who’s had their fair share of scandal and drama, and it’s all played out in the public eye. Over the years I have become so invested in this family that as much as I wanted to dive right into Reforming Kent , I held off. I wanted to prolong the pain of finally saying goodbye as long as I possibly could but boy oh boy, once I did jump in… it was impossible to put it down! The series is finally complete and I guarantee once you start, you won’t be able to put them down! Reforming Kent was no different, I was so excited to see the bad boy black sheep finally meet the woman who knocks him to his knees.
❝Kent Kennedy personifies trouble. No matter how tempting his exterior is, there is no denying Kent is a bad boy who breaks hearts all over the place.❞

Siobhan Davis is an incredible author. She doesn’t shy away from the tough subjects that most romance authors try and avoid which is exactly why she is one of my top one-click authors and I don’t see that changing any time soon. Just when I think “Oh yeah, she’s outdone herself and there is no topping this one!” she releases another unputdownable story that has me eating my words! Davis has truly outdone herself with Reforming Kent . If you are a fan of the Kennedy’s then you know that from the very beginning readers always knew that SOMETHING was going on with Kent, and now we finally have the answers to why this bad boy was so, soo bad. Over the years readers of the Kennedy Boys Series have seen just how bad this bad boy can be but after reading Adoring Keaton … I had just about lost hope for one of my favorite Kennedy’s and I questioned how on earth Davis was going to be able to reform the ultimate bad boy and make him a character that readers could root for. And once again, Davis made me eat my words!
❝He is physically beautiful, hiding all the broken, tormented parts on the inside.❞
Reforming Kent is NOT going to be an easy read, it’s going to hurt. But trust me, it’s oh so worth it. I HIGHLY recommend not only Reforming Kent by the entire Kennedy Boys Series!

❝And for the first time in a long time, something, or someone, has pulled my head out from under the black hole I’ve been living in.
Presley thinks she’s immune to my charms.
I can’t wait to prove her wrong.❞

💙 (𝐻) 𝐻𝑒𝑟𝑜: Kent Kennedy , the troubled bad boy, the black sheep, the playboy, the troublemaker. Throughout the Kennedy Boys Series, we have watched Kent push his self-destruct button over and over again. He’s ruined his relationship with the majority of his family members (especially Keaton, one of his triplets) while he abused drugs, alcohol, and sex. He made it hard to like him, much less love him.

But in rare vulnerable moments, we have seen that there could be another side of Kent. Those moments are what drew me to him. There was no doubt that there was SOMETHING that had happened or that was going on with Kent to make him act out the way he was but with each new Kennedy book we only were left with more questions about what was going on with Kent.

His story was one I never saw coming. I never could have imagined that the meanest boy of the series was the most broken one. Everything you think you know about Kent, think again. By the end of the book, the transformation that we see in Kent is MINDBLOWING. We finally meet the actual Kent Kennedy and it was an absolute pleasure.

❤️ (ℎ) 𝐻𝑒𝑟𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑒: Presley Barlow , an art student, and bar manager at Ramshackle, a rundown bar that’s in a not so great part of town. Presley has big plans and is hoping to eventually own her own tattoo shop but she has her fair share of problems, mainly her drug-addict ex-boyfriend and her gang member foster brother…
❝How do I make you feel, Kent?”
“Like I’m walking on water. Like there is light at the end of the tunnel for me. Like I might be worthy of you. Like I could be happy with you. You consume my thoughts, and I just want to be with you because you fill me full of feelings I never thought I’d ever get to experience. We haven’t even had sex, and it doesn’t matter because I just want to exist with you.❞
We were first introduced to Presley at the end of Adoring Keaton and I just KNEW that she was going to have Kent on his knees! I immediately fell for Pres! She’s independent, strong, resilient, compassionate, street smart, courageous, caring, and loyal. Sometimes loyal to a fault… Presley gave just as good as she got and she didn’t just throw caution to the wind and give into Kent like most of his conquest nor did she hold all those preconceived notions against him because of the way the media portrays him… well not for long anyway. Very quickly Pres sees that there is much more to Kent than meets the eye.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 𝟓/𝟓 𝑅𝑜𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 & 𝑆𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑚: For the first time ever, Kent finds a woman that he wants more from than just her body and he will stop at nothing to make her give him a chance. I loved, loved, LOVED, seeing this whole other side of Kent that Presley brings out of him. She makes him woe her and woe her he does! The flowers, gifts, and meaningful love notes were so incredibly thoughtful and they made me fall for him even more. Kent found someone who understood and accepted him in Presley and she was the perfect heroine for him. The steam… if you’ve ever read anything by Siobhan Davis then I doubt I even need to tell, but if you haven’t then let me just say…😍🤤🥵
❝You taste like heaven on my tongue, and it’s only fair to warn you I think I’m addicted to you.”
I push him flat on his back, straddling his hips. “I think it’s fair to say I’m on my way to being addicted to you too.❞
❥❥ 𝟚 ❥❥ 𝑆𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠: One of my favorite things about reading a new Kennedy book is being able to check out what’s going on with the previous Kennedy’s. They have such a supportive family unit that there are always multiple scenes of the main characters and the rest of the family too. But I especially loved those scenes this time around. Watching the gang rally around Kent when things were brought to light… I couldn’t help but shed a few tears.
❝I’ve thrown shade at all my brothers for being pussy-whipped,” I admit. “Scoffed at their declarations of love and looked down my nose at the idea that it could exist for me. You’re challenging my entire belief system, Presley baby, and I’m scared I will let both of us down because that’s what I’m good at.❞
I didn’t want to but because she has been such a HUGE part of Kent’s story over the years in the other stories, I couldn’t not mention the Wicked Witch of New York… Whitney. Plus I know that some readers were shocked/confused/upset/glad when they found out Whitney was NOT Kent’s forever love, I myself can’t say that I was upset… AT ALL! That relationship was completely toxic and there was so much BAD that Whitney (and Kent too!) had done that there was no way that relationship could have been turned around, I despised Whitney for the way she treated Faye and I just couldn’t see HER being the one who saved our bad boy and helped make him become the best person he could be as our other heroines have done with their Kennedy boy.

Last but certainly not least, Imogen, Presley’s best friend. I am keeping my fingers AND toes crossed hoping for a book about her and Rafe!

🌪 𝐶𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑓ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑊𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔: *Sigh* Nope, no cliffhanger. Reforming Kent was bittersweet. Although the book was a perfect way to end this amazing series, it’s the end of the series and now we have to say goodbye to the fictional family that we all know and love. BUT… there is a whole lot of kids, who knows maybe we’ll get a second-generation series?!?! (HINT, HINT Siobhan!)

⚠️ 𝑇𝑟𝑖𝑔𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑊𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔: Again, Davis doesn’t shy away from tough subjects and it’s no different in Reforming Kent. There are a couple of difficult subjects that could be considered triggers. If you would like to know more about what those subjects are, feel free to DM me, I would rather not post since they would definitely be considered spoilers.
❝You reformed me, Presley baby.”
“You reformed yourself, Kent. Never forget that no one can save you if you don’t save yourself first.❞

Siobhan Davis brings her Kennedy Boys series to an epic end.

For years, heartbreaker bad boy Kent Kennedy has created a dark and destructive persona that woman can’t seem to resist except for the spirited bartender who’s mesmerized him. Kent is determined to break down her walls of resistance, but he didn’t expect his would come crumbling down as well.
“This woman owns me. Body, heart, and soul. The realization I love her almost knocks me off my feet.”

Graduate student by day and bartender by night, Presley dreams of having her own tattoo shop. Her past has taught her that she shouldn’t get involved with bad boys, especially not rich, arrogant playboys. Yet their kindred spirits and made chemistry are impossible to ignore. But what happens when their pasts come crashing down and old scars that never truly healed are reopened? Can they survive?

I met Kent right from the very beginning and saw how this troubled teen grew more out of hand with each book. There was obviously something driving his behavior, and I was just as saddened as he was that no one seemed to be able to get through to him. I really wanted him to have a happy ending just like the rest of the Kennedys but didn’t see how.

Siobhan Davis does a wonderful job writing Kent’s transformation from bad boy to devoted boyfriend, and loving brother and son. With the help of Presley and his family, who he had alienated himself from because of their judgement and neglect, he’s able to find happiness.

I loved how the entire Kennedy family was integrated into this story and how we, the Kennedy Boys fans, got updates on the previous couples.

Drama and swoon, suspense and cheese, this book has it all. Siobhan writes an angsty can’t-put-down novel with an epic happy ending to close out the series.

Reforming Kent is book #10 in the Kennedy Boys series by Siobhan Davis. This is a standalone new adult romance, perfect for The Kennedy Brothers fans. Told from both points of view, with a happy ending.

Holy. Crap.

I am just speechless right now! How am I expected to put into words what a moving, emotional, heartbreakingly beautiful story Kent and Presley have???

I have always loved the Kennedy family, I have. Truly. The drama that tags along with them wherever they go is my favorite and though they’ve all had such obstacles to overcome, my love for them has never dimmed. But oh, my boy Kent. He has been my favorite since day one. I mean, how could you not love him? He’s brash, rude, and very unapologetic. He stirs the pot. If there’s trouble to be found, he’s usually holding the GPS. but I just knew he would break my heart one day. Listen, what can I say? I love the bad boys and the badder they are, the more hurt they cause.

So I waited and waited. Bided my time until it was right.

And lord, was he worth the wait. Kent, while grown in many ways, still has licks of his youth flare up. Yes, he’s made mistakes. You know that, I know that. He knows that. But it isn’t really until a certain brown eyed bar manager catches his attention that we really get to see Kent flourish. He becomes the man we all knew he could be. Sometimes it’s baby steps, other times even a step backwards. But he’s trying. And Pres is the PERFECT woman to have by his side. She’s been hurt too, but they help each other. She is strong and courageous. Sassy. Beautiful. I loved her so much. Hands down, my favorite partner in the Kennedy Boys series and that’s saying something, because I love Austen as much as Keats does.

This story is so emotional, you’ll be tied up in knots at times. But it’s okay, we’ll make it through together. The pain will be worth it.

Siobhan Davis kept upping the ante with each addition to the series and the bar was set high for Kent, no question. Not only was his story long awaited, but as the final book in such a heavily loved and acclaimed series, the pressure was on. But man, did she absolutely kill it. She has breathed such life into these characters that I sometimes need to remember that they aren’t real.

Kent and Presley have such an incredible story. Their journey is the perfect bookend to this amazing series, and while I’m so sad to see them go, to close the chapter on this crazy family, I know they’ll always be a part of me.

This was my first book by this author! I had no idea who the Kennedy Boys were, but I jumped right in anyways because I love angst and I've heard this author had it in spades.

Blown away! Kent... seems like and arsehole, acts like an arsehole, ... and a manwhore. But he's broken, he has a past and he's trying to escape - mostly from himself. And Presley... a hard working girl who knows what she wants. She, too, has a past, but she was blind to everything. When she discovers the truth, her whole world shatters.

This story broke me, in a good way. Stories like this is why I read.

So much angst, so much emotions, passion and rawness. Absolutely amazing.

I'm pissed. This was a decent book until the author got GRATUITOUS with the sexual assault(S) YES I SAID PLURAL descriptions. It's just tacky and too much. And I think I'm going to need to take a break from this author because this book was probably one of the few books that's caused me to feel this way.

BUT I DIGRESS: She's a good author, but I'm just exhausted by her constant excessive depictions of sexual assault. I'm in no way shading her!

I have loved every single book in this series, and I cannot believe it is over. The Kennedy boys and the amazing ones they love have been everything. Kent was a tough one for me in the previous books as he was always hurting those around him the worst ways. His actions were deplorable, and I just really needed to know why he was so destructive towards himself and others. I knew this would be one of the toughest books in the series in terms of past trauma, but it was also really beautiful to see how the family came together to help and begin to heal. I definitely felt all the feels seeing where the rest of the siblings were at with their families, and while it is sad that it has come to an end, I'm really happy with how everyone ended up. I cannot wait to do a whole series reread now. I just really love me some Kennedys.

WOW. This book was so much more emotional than I anticipated. I am truly at a loss for words on this one. I am going to have a book hangover after this.

Reforming Kent is the tenth and finally book in the Kennedy Boys series. It may be a standalone, but I HIGHLY, HIGHLY urge readers to read these books in order.

I honestly have no idea what to say. Siobhan ripped me open with Kent's story and my heart is flayed. The emotions she rocked me with are powerful and have left me breathless. To say I am emotionally wrecked is an understatement, but it's a good thing.

Reforming Kent is a story of first loves and reveling in those feelings. It's also confronting pain, hurt and anger from a past that was buried so deep that any attempt to move past it, brings those demons alive making the past become the present.

"Never forget that no one can save you if you don't save yourself first."

One thing I have loved and will always love is Siobhan's ability to never sugarcoat or hold back on anything in her stories. What her characters endure are unfortunate realties and it makes these stories all that more raw and deep. I will say this – if you have a hard time dealing with abuse and rape, read this book with extreme caution. It will bring those horrors to life – trust me on this. But I will never fault Siobhan for making me feel so much; for many of us it is sometimes cathartic when we empathize with these characters.

I loved seeing Kent grow in so many ways in this book. He kept himself closed off to everyone and lost himself in booze, sex and drugs. Presley was a light he never expected and her aloofness and strength challenged him. Presley wasn't about to be another notch on his bed post and Kent never gives up when he wants something. As these two move along in their friendship/relationship, they learn more about each other and it's this connection that makes them inseparable. Presley is the perfect woman for Kent – she handles and understands him in ways even his family doesn't. But their journey is not an easy one – it's not one for the faint of hearts either.

Siobhan's writing is flawless. She knows how to grip her readers at the right moment and keeps you engaged in the story the entire time. Her characters are authentic, real and unforgettable. This book, this whole series, is one I will never foret.

Siobhan – you won me over with your first book about Kyler and made me an insta-fan. With Kent, you've only strengthened my love for your writing, your characters and their stories. I am sad this series has to come and end, but I am forever grateful that you gave us the Kennedy Brothers. They are forever etched in my soul and this series will always be in my favorites.

What a trip that was!
Kent and Presley's relationship brought out all kinds of emotions in me. Kent, is a straight-A student but on the weekends he parties like there's no tomorrow! And everything changes when he meets Presley one night while he is trying to get drunk. Not being able to get her out of his mind, he goes all out in trying to win her over.
I loved how in love Kent and Presley were with one another. I loved how they always put their relationship first. I loved how both of them wanted to better themselves so they would be worthy of one another.
But not all was rosy in their relationship. They go through ups and downs, and their love gets tested and challenged until the very end. This was a read that provoked all kinds of feelings in me. At times, this feels like a light read that has its HEA from 40% throughout the book, but for a large chuck of the book, the story is very emotional, and very difficult to read. My heart broke for what Kent went through! The moment he finally can't keep what happened to him locked in anymore, i was broken. It was hinted very early on that something traumatic had happened to him, but i was not prepared for what he went through. I appreciated how the author did not "romanticize" the ugly truth of some experiences, but there were some parts that were so raw and intense that they made me flinch and feel sick. But as ugly as the author made Kent's past experiences to be, the stronger he made this character end up to be. A phoenix rising from the ashes!
I loved Presley, i loved how strong and resilient she was even though she experienced some bad things through her childhood, and really felt so bad for her when her whole world was turned upside down. But similar to Kent, step-by-step, she managed to find her own light at the end of the tunnel.

I am not sure if there were things i didn't like in the book. The only two things i can comment on was that as this was my first read from the series, it was very confusing reading about all the brother and their wives, and at times i felt completely lost on who was who. And secondly, i could not understand why the Kennedy family was so famous. Nothing is said in the book, and i don't know if the "why" is covered at any of the previous books.

While I'm incredibly sad to see the ending of the Kennedy Boys series, I couldn't have asked for a better finale. Kent's story is emotional and, at times, difficult to get through, but it's one all of us Kennedy fans have been eager to get our hands on. Why does Kent act the way that he does? What is his problem with Keaton? And will he ever find love and settle down? All of these questions have been racing around our heads since the beginning and now we get a chance to see if they will be answered.

Of course, I'm not going to spoil anyone by telling you if they are answered, or what those answers might be, but I will say this, You will NOT be disappointed. There is so much anguish, tears, steam and forgiveness in this book. It actually had me putting it down for the night a couple of times due to the intense feelings it was causing in me! I think it's a beautiful thing when an author can make the reader react to a character as if they were a real living person whom they care about. That's true for every single one of the Kennedy Boys books, but I think none so much as this one.

Presley is a strong character to bring into the Kennedy world. She is independent and street wise, but so amazingly caring and loyal to those she calls loved ones. I think it would be very interesting to have a prequel book that tells the story of her growing up, (or any of the girls in the books before they met the Kennedy Boys, hint hint Siobhan!) Perhaps her loyalty is to a fault, but she learns and grows from those mistakes.

If you want a book that's full of hidden torment, steamy romance, family struggles and forgiveness, and being strong enough to face your demons, this is the book for you. And, of course, if you're already a fan of the series, you're not going to want to wait to pick this one up!

Holy hell of a book hangover.
Holee crap.
Holy everything.

First off let me just say how it saddens me to be writing the final review for a Kennedy boys story. I have loved them since the beginning and I’m not ready to say goodbye.

I knew there was a reason Siobhan Davis saved Kent’s story for last and it’s because she knew it was going to be a whopper of a story. One that will leave your jaw on the floor along with your heart and emotions tattered and ruined in the best of ways.

Reforming Kent finally gave all the answers I’d been looking for and I had an idea, I thought I knew but Davis showed me that I had no idea of the full truth that awaited. My heart brutally ached for Kent. The way Siobhan Davis made his character completely break (although much needed) tore at every emotional string inside me.
One of my favorite things about this book was that there’s whole other side to Kent that I was wholly unprepared for yet I loved every single minute.
I loved seeing Kent’s wall being torn down brick by brick.

Oh and when Kent woos, the man freaking woos. Cue all the swoon. There isn’t a better woman in the universe for Kent than Presley. She was everything he never knew he needed. Together those two fought for reform, each other, and a tumultuous journey to hea.

In Kent and Presley’s story, Siobhan Davis weaved a gripping tale of heartbreak, healing, resilience, absolution, and most importantly love.

Early on and already Kent Kennedy is gradually breaking down my walls about THIS brother. Ahhhhh the feels 😭🥰🤪 were sooo strong on this one! I’m taking in all that I read. I’m still in a daze. Soooo good! I cannot believe this is the end!

Kent is the one always in trouble. His actions has gotten him into many messes and has a reputation on on being an cocky a##h&*e. As we gotten to know him throughout the series he has always kept us intrigued with his shenanigans. Gosh let me just say that this man redeemed himself that had me in tears 😭 and my heart achingly broken.

Presley Barlow is the woman that he did not see coming and one that will bring him down to his knees and break down his walls. The way he is with her will have your head spinning with confusion just because of how he has been with other women. She may have her personal issues that she is dealing with but she is breathe of fresh air in Kent's tainted life. The question is it just another woman and how long can it really last? Get ready for a ride and an ending to the series that will have you itching to want to reread the series again!

✨ FIRST IMPRESSIONS ✨ So I could not resist and had to start reading 📖 Reforming Kent (The Kennedy Boys #10) by @siobhandavisauthor before anything else. 🤓

I am savoring all the words knowing this is the last book in the series. 📚😫 Currently 16% in and already Kent is gradually breaking down my walls about this brother. No doubt the feels will be strong in this one. #ReformingKent #TheKennedyBoysSeries #AuthorSiobhanDavis #BabblingChatterReads #LebasEscapes #FavoriteSeries

What is this series ending?!?! Ahhhhh the feels 😭🥰🤪 were sooo strong on this one! I’m taking in all that I read. I’m still in a daze. Soooo good! I need to collect my words.

Well... I can’t believe this was the last book in this series. Feels so bittersweet, I will miss the Kennedy clan so much. I started out the year by starting this series and it is only fair I end it reading the last book in this amazing series. This book was intense, wow but what a conclusion!

After reading adoring keaton I was not a big fan of Kent, I honestly felt there was no way he could be redeemed, but oh my did he completely make me do a 180. My heart absolute broke for him and all he went through but he came out the other side and I’m so happy he got his HEA. Siobhan did an amazing job handling such a difficult topic, it was definitely a LOT at times but so worth telling. Also who would’ve thought Kent could be such a romantic. He was so kind and attentive with Presley. Presley was perfect for him in every way. The connection between was amazing to see. I wish we got to see them have a conversation about those things he said to her but oh well.

As always I loved getting cameos of the whole family, loved the drama with Whitney (because I love conflict) - she never fails to amuse me. Am I the only one who would love a Whitney book, perhaps. I still maintain that Keaton is my favourite, I simply adore him ⤹

Im so sad to say goodbye to these characters! I discovered the Kennedy Boys a few years ago, and they have always stayed close to my heart. Kyler was always my favourite, but im pretty sure kent just snatched my heart and ran off with it. I always suspected something caused him to be the way he was, and my heart hurt for him through the series as we watched him self destruct and lash out. My heart was not ready for what this book uncovered, and im broken for him. Im so glad he found someone to see through his attitude, and I love Presley so much. Can't wait to buy this in paperback so it can join the rest of the Kennedy boys on my shelf. Well done siobhan, this series twisted my heart into knots and broke me like no series has. These characters will always be on my re read list, and im so glad that you covered so many topics through out that aren't voiced enough. You are an amazing author and you inspire me with your writing.

4.5 stars It's bittersweet when a series you've been reading for 3 years and some change comes to an end. This series and by extension the author mean so much to me and to have Kent wrap the story up,makes it more so. I had mixed emotions going into this because Kent hasn't always shown his best sides in previous books in this series. But you see why in this and he needed a partner stronger than him. In Presley he found that. Despite all the hurt they have both gone through in the past and in this book, they do find the light together and for the series to end as it did, I honestly couldn't have asked for better. Am I going to miss the boys? For sure, but I will have the memories of this series and keep it close to me for always. This will go down as probably one of my favourite series of all time for sure. Make sure you check the triggers though.

Well readers, it all comes down to this! The rollercoaster lives of The Kennedy Boys series comes to an end with this tenth installment that packs yet another emotional wallop as the youngest of the triplets finally gets the attention he deserves in this story of opposites attracting. Add in dealing with a past riddled with pain and you end up with a hero who's been torturing himself through nine previous books, one who finally finds some healing and a richly rewarding HEA by the turn of the final page.

Kent Kennedy's always been seen as the black sheep of the family. He's been labeled as reckless, self-destructive, quick to anger, and even quicker to drink and sleep away his pain through numerous one-night stands. While starting college seems like a good time to start over, it's his meeting sexy and sassy bartender Presley that gives him an even bigger reason to change how he's been going through life. From the moment readers first met Kent they saw someone very rough around the edges, someone with constant anger just bubbling beneath the surface. He's brash, loud mouthed, and makes no apologies for how he lives his life. The Kent seen here is ready to change, wanting to change as his attraction to Presley becomes more vital to him than breathing, and it has him wanting to become a better man for her. She doesn't make it easy for him though as he undertakes a charming and heartwarming journey to win her over. Through sweet words and endearing gifts he woos Presley one day at a time while revealing a softer side to his personality. Along the way his past comes to the forefront in reveals that broke my heart and had me wanting to hug him. His truths are painful, and explain a lot of why he's been the kind of person he's been, but Ms. Davis dealt with the pain in an honest and respectful way that many will be able to relate to. His time with Presley isn't only romantic but it's healing too and as he falls harder for her he discovers he's also worthy of love in a powerful connection that felt like a weight finally being lifted off the battered and bruised Kent.

Presley is a wonderful heroine, a perfect match to Kent as she's strong-willed with a big and kind heart more than capable of helping him heal. For most of her life she's only been able to count on herself, dealing with her own traumatic past with only a small group of friends she can call on. Her life hasn't been all sunshine and flowers, but it's made her who she is today...just the woman Kent needs. Theirs is a crackling connection from the moment they meet. In a journey of hard truths and unexpected twists and turns comes a real romance full of heart and soul. Through every tear, through every heartache, Presley loves with her whole heart and it's her lightness that shows Kent a way out of his darkness in an unforgettable romance.

Ms. Davis has crafted a near-flawless series of books featuring the Kennedy family with one delicious sibling after another taking center stage. The books have been an emotional smorgasbord, dealing with heavy topics without sugar coating them, and each installment has left an indelible mark. This series-ender is the perfect conclusion as it highlights the healing power of love and acceptance between two people held captive by their pasts. Family too plays a big role and the family interactions seen here warmed my heart through their imperfect yet realistic interactions. Readers looking for an immensely satisfying romance, a romance worth every painful emotion, will want to add The Kennedy Boys series to their bookshelf and discover each unforgettable character on their own from the very beginning!
