I love this series. Some of them are very hard to find and command a high price. The pictures are clear and bright and the "clear pages" add interest. They are European based, so some of the species pictures are not native but the information is sound. Recommended, if you can find them!

This was a really cool book to teach my son how an egg is formed inside the hen & how the chick forms inside the egg. He really enjoyed it!

The Egg goes through the life of an egg. It starts out in a hen and then the hen then has to sit on the eggs until they hatch. When they hatch, little chicks come out and they can walk and eat within a few hours. There are so many other farmyard fowl that lay eggs too. These animals consist of ducks, guinea hens, pigeons, turkeys and several more. The ostrich's egg is the biggest of them all! There are many other animals that lay eggs as well.

I did like this book but I got a little bored because it was a lot of facts. It was an engaging book but it might have been more interesting if there was more of a story line.

I would use this in an animal unit but I would never just read this to my students for fun.
