The story as a whole was decent.
I love the found family trope they had in this series, where Elizabeth came from a cold-hearted family where outward appearances was the most important thing. Seeing her go from a strong, independent woman with no friends to a fierce protector of those she had come to love was such a heartwarmer.
What annoyed me at most parts were the parts where they argued over and over again. Especially over their culture clashes, sometimes they voiced that was the problem, other times they just got so mad at each other.
For example:
They tell Elizabeth that when she feels the need to go, she should just go, so she doesn't shift. She does exactly that, and then everyone is mad at her for doing exactly what they told her to.
I noticed this flaw mostly in the last book, but when we hadn't seen a character for a few chapters and saw them once again we got their whole life story, over and over and over again. I have no idea how many times I read about Elizabeth's and Bee's animosity at the start of their friendship.
Other than that, I am not a huge fan of pregnancies, and this book was almost only that and a wedding(oh the draamaaah, and the tears, yikes). I was more interested in the upcoming pack war that was teased at in the end of book 2, but that happened the last few chapters and was over before it really started. We didn't get to see the epic showdown between Abraham and his uncle, only a half-hearted fight between Elizabeth and Payton(?).
I really enjoyed the start of the series, but at the same times this wanted me to pull my hair out in frustration because of the same repeating cycle, only in different environments.
