If you love John Waters, you need to read this as it covers the man and his films up until the financial disappointment of "Cry-Baby." It is all very funny, shocking, and surprising, as one would expect when dealing with Waters. He isn't the only one interviewed in the book, however. There are those who have been in his movies and life, as well, but the main focus of the slim read is a really long interview with the man we all know and love. If you don't come out of this with a greater appreciation for his films . . . well, enjoy the "Avatar" sequel.

Ives' tone is somewhat sycophantic, I thought, but the bulk of the book consists of interviews with Waters and that is fairly interesting.
