Sexy and involving!

4,25 stars

This time we meet Brock (a werewolf shifter) and his employee Elsie (not any less than a siren).

For about two years they worked together without knowing the other one's real identity.

But when danger comes knocking violently on their doors, they are forced to reveal themselves, and even more than that, their lives become intertwined for all internity.

That is, if they don't get killed first, considering the threats, enemies and curses that surround them.

As they face all of that, they become closer closer, and what started with respect and admiration soon becomes so much more, as love starts to bloom.

Their bonding is like no other and their chemistry is awesome!

This is the first story I've read about a siren. She's been working for a guy for two years and they both assumed that the other was human until one night when she sees her boss being attacked. She'd been working hard to find out who stole money from the company. When the attack happens supernatural forces go into effect and she accidentally becomes mated to the dude who turns out to be a werewolf. Oops. They need to find out why he was being attacked. Family curses and infighting are involved as well. It also turns out that her own mother kept a lot of information from her about herself and supernatural creatures in general. This is the 4th book in this series and I can see that it would be much better to read the series starting with the first book. All in all, this book didn't wow me and I won't bother to read the rest of the series.

I have so enjoyed this series, I love the way every book features a different species of paranormal who are all so wonderfully brought to life for us. The writing style is excellent, the storylines are imaginative and highly entertaining!

This is the 4th book in the Evil Rising series and this one features a sorceress, vampires, werewolves, witches, and sirens. Elise and Brock are so good together with such great chemistry! Two wonderful characters and an exciting storyline.

I for one hope that there are more books to come in this series.

Downhill

This one started off making me feel like it was the best one in the series, however Elsie went and ruined that. She is obnoxious with her constant selfishness. There was never any growth or compromise, just me me me. I wanted the former queen to take her out by the final standoff. And the queen resolution was awful. For a series that’s not really tying each book to each other, it’s a pretty big loose thread to just leave hanging.
Luckily we did get Lucian as our next hero so a small tie between books.

REVIEW: 4.25 stars-- THE WEREWOLF AND THE SIREN is the fourth instalment in Melody Raven’s (aka Mallory Crowe) contemporary, adult EVIL RISING paranormal, fantasy romance series. This is wolf shifter Brock Holt, and siren Elsie Handeland’s story line. THE WEREWOLF AND THE SIREN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: THE WEREWOLF AND THE SIREN was originally released as RULING FIRE-the fourth book in Mallory Crowe’s BAD BOYS OF THE UNDERWORLD SERIES.

WARNING: Due to nature of the story line content, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Elsie and Brock) WEREWOLF AND THE SIREN follows several paths including the building relationship between wolf shifter Brock Holt, and siren Elsie Handeland. Working as an accountant for Holt Automated, Elsie kept secret her supernatural heritage, a secret that would be the least of her worries when she discovers that her boss, and Holt Automated CEO is King of the Wolves. An attack against our couple by a group of beings known as ‘myotis’ finds Brock claiming Elsie to protect her life. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Brock and Elsie, and the potential fall-out as history begins to repeat itself when the Holt Pack’s new queen is threatened by an unknown force.

Elsie finds herself on the outside looking in when Brock claims our heroine as his mate and queen. Never claiming her heritage or acting on what should come naturally, Elsie struggles to accept that Brock isn’t forced into accepting her as his mate. Brock Holt knows it will be an uphill battle to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love, a woman who is both vulnerable but capable of holding her own.

The relationship between Elsie and Brock is one of immediate attraction. For two years Elsie has remained oblivious to Brock’s attraction, an attraction that now threatens both of their lives. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to a large and colorful ensemble cast of supernatural characters: Elsie’s mother Rebecca Entin, and her husband vampire Roman Entin, as well as Elsie’s sister Etta; Brock’s family including brother Russell, sister Kayla, nephew Jackson, niece Dani, Dani’s mother and Brock’s sister Gloria, Gloria’s estranged mate Derek, grandmother Lana and several members of the myotis coven including leader Lucian, Cade and Dean.

THE WEREWOLF AND THE SIREN is a story of family, betrayal, legends and myths. The premise is engaging, fast paced and inviting; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are charismatic, energetic and strong.

I figuratively threw this ebook away at 57%. There was only so much excuses I could make for Elsie. “She’s just scared, the poor thing. She’s not had any experience when it comes to her feelings. She’s been sheltered so she reacts in the worst case scenario..” This is how I got to 57% otherwise I would have given up much sooner. Elise is weak during the situations she needs to be strong and then is strong when it doesn’t matter. I called it quits when her stupidity started to hurt the hero. No. Just No.

Also the author throws in the most random plot twists. It felt like the she wanted to go in one direction so surprise the character can now do this! Surprise? Really?

The thing that just kills me is that the premise was amazing. A siren? A werewolf? A secret attraction and a situation to make them come together? Yes, please!

I give 2 stars because Brock is everything an alpha werewolf hero should be and I’m sad that I can no longer stomach Elsie to see him happy. Maybe one day I will finish this book, but I’m way too steamed up for that right now.

I volunteered to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and to submit an honest review.

Elsie was an employee of Brock Holt for the past two years. She loved her job and enjoyed going against her mother's wishes for her marry (for money of course) and for her husband to be supernatural so she could draw on his blood and have eternal life, Elsie has no desire to do this, vowing she will not act upon the acts of being a siren and trapping a man.

Elsie does feel that Brock Holt is a gorgeous man but stays clear of him as a siren will kill a human over time. What she doesn't know is that Brock Holt was a werewolf. She tries to keep him away and he's not taking no for an answer.

There is plenty of action and steamy scenes that makes this a terrific addition to the Evil Rising series.

4.5 star read!

This is my first ever book by Melody Raven and I am uber impressed, yes, I said "uber".
Mid book and only because I was checking my goodreads I noticed this is the 4th book in a series, the author did a fantastic job at making this a stand alone. I had no issue following a long the story and going by this book and how well written it is I will have no problem one-clicking the rest and reading them in order.

I loved the characters, loved the title (it's what made me start reading this book in the first place), liked the story line and plot. I enjoyed the author's writing. This had mystery, sexy scenes, hilarious moments AND A STRONG FEMALE LEAD!

Exciting Supernatural Romance!!💘😍🐺🎶
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)

Sexy werewolf King, Brock, and very reluctant Siren, Elsie, have worked together for a few a years. Neither knows the other is a supernatural. Due to unforseen circumstances they find themselves unexpectedly Mated to each other!!🙈😍

This is a reluctant slow burn romance, from Elsie's point of view. She's got a really screwed up idea of her siren powers 😳 Thankfully Brock convinces her of their true connection 👍💘 I enjoyed the whole storyline. I really liked Lucian & look forward to his monstrous story 🙏✨

Melody Raven does it again with the 4th book in her Evil Rising series! Elsie is a siren who unknowingly becomes mated to her werewolf boss Brock. What ensues is action, romance, and a fight for their lives as enemies from all over, even the afterlife, threaten Elsie and Brock's lives all while they are just trying to figure out if they can even make their "mating" work. This was such a well developed story with so much tension (and romance) I just couldn't put it down. I am so excited for more from this series!

This is the fourth book of this great paranormal romance series and I loved it. It has steam, suspense, and danger. Elsie and Brock are both strong, likable characters, equally matched and with good chemistry. The story is never boring, it's well-written and has some exciting action sequences. The steamy sex scenes are hot too! I am a big fan of Mallory Crowe's romantic suspense stories and I am really loving this paranormal series. I can't wait to read the next book.

The Werewolf and the Siren

This was the first time I've read this anything from author. I liked the storyline and the paranormal characters that were brought into the story. I would have liked a little more interaction between Brock and Elsie to get to know them a little bit more before they were thrown together. All in all, it was a good read and I'll be ordering book 5 for the story of Lucien and Ella.

I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest revie.

Another great book in the series! Elsie and Brock’s story of survival, overcoming the challenges of becoming the Alpha’s Mate and surviving the curse is hard to put down. Their strong personalities made the story fun and enjoyably entertaining. Lots of excitement in this story with lots of twists and turns. Such a great read and well written as usual. Definitely worth reading!

Hot hot hot and worth your love!!

This is The Werewolf And The Siren, book 4 of Melody Raven’s Evil Rising series. This series will suck you in and hold you on the edge of your seat! Who wouldn’t want the Werewolf Kings attention?!? Elsie, that’s who! She has pledged to never date, therefore never trapping a man. You are going to love how sweet and sassy these two are as they attempt to run from the evil chasing them. This is one of my most favorite books of this series!

The way each new book in the series introduces a new kind of paranormal is clever and highly entertaining! Not to say interesting and very imaginative good writing.

I really enjoyed it all, and now I'm impatient for Lucian's story. So - I know patience is a virtue, but I'm no saint, so please hurry it up!

Werewolf and the siren

3.5 stars I would have enjoyed reading the story more but it was way longer than necessary and some parts were a bit confusing and there were way more characters and names to remember who they were and what relationship they had to who. But still worth reading
