An excellent romantic suspense with a hot sauce of domination

This is definitely one of my favourite books of the Cavalieri Della Morte series. The author writes with such panache, imbuing her characters with the depth and emotion necessary to connect profoundly with them. Reading this felt like coming home, warm and relaxed, somewhere I not only was happy to be but also never wanted to leave. The story flowed through me, never needing any effort on my part to read, rather it soaked into my very being.

I adored both Dustan and Cherise, they felt so normal and believable, not to mention they had a chemistry that was electric. In many ways this felt very much like Ms Stone's Owned & Protected series, though without the Pet Play and BDSM. There is a definite air of domination by Dustan, though Cherise, despite starting out as an introvert, is very much NOT the submissive. The scenes following where she decided to be a Bad Girl were very hot indeed! Whilst I love my BDSM stories, this was the type of relationship and power exchange that anybody can still enjoy reading about.

The twists, turns and action in the plot held my attention throughout. There are no silly scenes that stretch the imagination - it is enough for me that Dustan is an elite assassin. We don't need, and thankfully don't get, ridiculous scenes where he repeatedly and single-handedly battles dozens of men. Where he receives grievous injuries but still takes down a small army. It may seem odd that I'm telling you what ISN'T in the book, but I'm hoping to convey how much this story line worked.

Whilst I was very much looking forward to reading this offering in the CDM series, I also had high expectations of it. Of course this then leaves one open to disappointment - and I'm always honest when that happens, even when I normally love the author's work. The wonderful news is that this didn't leave me flat or scrabbling for words, trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. This book easily stands on it's own merits and is worth reading even if you haven't read any of the rest of the series. In fact it is written in a way that means you DON'T need to have read any of the other books.

Valor is an 18+ book ideal for fans of the author, romantic suspense and those who love well written characters and a good plot.

STORY:
Dustan, an assassin for the Cavalieri Della Morte, is out on a job when he meets Cherise at a bar. Intrigued by him, Cherise follows Dustan outside where she witnesses something she wasn’t supposed to. The Cavalieri Della Morte don’t leave any loose ends which is what Cherise is, so she’s under Dustan’s watch until they decide what to do with her.

If the story ended there, it would be boilerplate, but fortunately, things do become a bit more complicated, requiring Cherise and Dustan to go in to hiding until they are prepared to attack.

Although I personally didn’t feel the connection between Cherise and Dustan, there are a lot of sex scenes that I’m sure others will enjoy! And I loved seeing Arthur again!!!

*** If you are not Measha or curious about my critical eye, this is where my review ends! ***

REVIEW OF EDITING/PROOFREADING:
This book is in desperate need of a thorough proofreading. There were typos such as using I instead of HE (for example when Cherise thinks, “I uncocked the gun but didn’t put it away” which should’ve been “He uncocked”), WONDERING instead of WANDERING (“Cherise was wondering around again”), and using INTO for IN TO and INTO for ONTO. Stone used em dashes and regular dashes interchangeably, not using them as instructed by the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS). Similarly, she did not comply with CMOS rules for spacing ellipses which states that there should be a space on either side of an elipses, (“He looked…concerned”, for example). Semicolons were also not used correctly, seemingly used in place of commas.

There were sentences with words in the wrong place (for example, “I’m not sure really how it all happened.”), sentences with missing words (such as, “And the Merde family isn’t going like me walking away from that.”), and a few sentences with extra words (for example, “I pulled slid back the rack on the gun”).

Although the story is told in past tense, some sentences were not (for example, “He’d suspect I was on to him.”), some words weren’t capitalized that should have been (for example
“’kay,” should have been “‘Kay,”). A few times, words were capitalized and the wrong punctuation used in some of the dialogue. For example, [“That’s right.” I smiled.”] should have been, [“That’s right, “I smiled.”]

Regarding commas, coordinating conjunctions at the start of sentences were followed by commas even when they shouldn’t (for example, “So, I can check for any cuts or bruises.”), were occasionally inserted after coordinating conjunctions between 2 complete sentences rather than in front of them (for example, “I noticed it and, once I did”), were sometimes omitted from lists of adjectives (for example, “thick black leather belt”), and were not correctly used when THOUGH was in the middle of a sentence or with OH (for example, “Oh yeah?” should have been, “Oh, yeah?”).

Another great addition to this series.

This is only the second book I have read by this author and I have enjoyed both of them. This is Dustan's book. One of the top and perhaps longest members of Arthur's Tebella Della Morte he has been sent to take care of a problem. For an ex-SEAL, it should be easy, in and out.

What makes it not so easy is Cherise. She was just trying to come out of her shell. She approached the unapproachable, she tried to flirt and then her life gets turned upside down. What is interesting about little Miss Cherise is the way in which her life crosses with that of the trouble she has now found herself in.

A mix of double-crossing, blood, suspense and a nice taste of the belt. Stone wove an interesting tale and of a character, we aren't really familiar with. It was a fast heart-thumping read that was just right for this epic series.

Have you read any of the Cavalieri Della Morte series yet? If you haven’t I highly recommend you jump into them as they are so so good.

Dustin is the next assassin in this series. His story isn’t as dark as the previous books however I still thought this was a great read.

When Dustin goes to a bar to get his next target he gets more than he ever expected when he meets Cherise.

Cherise is a fabulous character. She gives just as much as is thrown at her.

I’ve only read one book by this author so far. That’ll have to change as I really enjoyed this story.

A new to me author, Measha Stone brings you the 11th book in the Cavalieri Della Morte series.

This book isn’t as dark and twisted as the previous books but still holds its own and is enjoyable. There is lots of action and twists and turns throughout the story holding your attention. The chemistry between Dustin and Cherise was hot as hell.

Overall another great addition to the series.

Valor was intense right from the first page and didn't let up until the very end. Poor Cherise has been through so much and is finally getting her life together and ventures out to meet someone. Unfortunately she witnesses something and this sets her on a very different course, one that she will never come back from.
This story was so well written and the characters were very clear cut so you either love them or hate them.

No.... Just no. I just couldn’t deal with this book. I feel so bad that while reading this book, I couldn’t wait for it to end. It grated on my nerves. The characters were not likable at all. The plot was all over the place. Nothing made sense to me. I constantly wanted to bash the characters skulls in with a crowbar. (Violent and rude, I know)

Cherise caught Dustin on a mission of executing his target. She is now a eye witness and a loose end so Dustin kidnaps her . She tries to escape from him but he retaliates . She starts being compliant with him and they begin their messed up relationship.

The heroine pissed me off constantly with her submissive tendencies. The hero tried to hard to be dominant and he did not pull it off. It was such a turnoff. I freaking hated the line “Bad things for bad girls” and every time it was said (which was so often) I wanted to shoot Dustin.

Okay rant over now. I know I was a completely rude in my review but these characters pissed me off a great deal.

Another 5+ star read in this gritty, dirty Cavalieri Della Morte series! Dustan and Cherise are impressive! While she seems timid, weak and shy, she finds an inner fire, snark and strength that I loved. Dustan is the perfect blend of evil alpha that knows how to thoroughly please and punish a woman. Loved their story!

This one was not as dark or bloody as the others.
Still has lots of action and steamy scenes!
I am really enjoying the dual POV in this series and this book is no exception.

Dustin is an assassin who has always accomplished his mission. And after working hard on setting up his plans, a young woman’s appearance distracts him from his final goal, she was a complete surprise, now what is he supposed to do?
Cherise is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The one night she decides to finally go out and meet people, what does she get, only a night from hell and now she’s scared to death and stuck with someone who could be a crazy psycho.

I found this to be a gentler story than previous book in the series. It still has it’s rough edges with violence and plenty of steamy love scenes, but I found there’s less emphasis on blood thirsty gore that can shock more than add to the story any way.
I liked the characters, they were well developed, Dustin’s dominant behaviour wasn’t over the top, it was nicely done. I liked this book very much, it’s definitely a must read.

4 STARS

Valor by Measha Stone is book #11 in the Cavalieri Della Morte series, although each book is a standalone. Measha is a new to me author but she wrote a wonderful addition to this series. I know I’ve said it but it’s still just as true, this series keeps getting better and better! Told in dual POV, we now have Dustan and Cherise’s story.

Dustan is an ex-navy seal who’s been one of Arthur’s loyal assassins for 10 years. As Dustin sits in a bar waiting for his mark, Antonio Merde, a beautiful woman catches his eye from across the bar. Not wanting to be bothered he puts on his most “I’m unapproachable” face but that doesn’t deter the woman and soon they are chatting it up.
“I have never, not once second guessed his orders, and I’ve never considered if I would follow them or not…. Until now.”
But when his mark makes for the back door Dustan excuses himself to take care of business. Only things don’t go exactly as planned.

Cherise Styles grew up in a small town in Minnesota and now that she’s living in the big city of Chicago, she’s determined to break out of her shell. Taking the advice of a self-help book, Cherise heads out for a night at the bar. But when the man that she’s been chatting with excuses himself, Cherise decides to follow him into the back ally… what she finds there, she wishes she had stayed safe back in her shell.
“Her palpable fear fed me, filled the evil pit inside me, and I wanted more. But, first, I had work.”
Dustan knows that he can’t leave any witnesses behind and now that Cherise has seen him kill Antonio he has to find her, no loose ends. But what he doesn’t expect is that when he does, he’ll learn that someone has put a million dollar bounty on her head. Dustan learns that Cherise’s family may just be more connected to the Merde family than he ever could have thought, and now he’s is determined to keep her safe.

I really liked this story, it wasn’t my favorite but it wasn’t bad for sure and it was really well written but it just didn’t feel developed completely and I was looking for DARK in this one after finding out that’s one of the genres the author writes in and although there is still some violence, I just don’t feel like it was very dark at all.

Dustan is a sexy dominant man who has no problem with teaching bad girls lesson’s and Cherise has been very bad. Gahh there is nothing better than a sexy, strong alpha who knows how to take control.
“Bad things happen to bad girls.”
Cherise starts out as a quiet wallflower trying to come out of her shell but with Dustan’s guidance and firm hand she doesn’t just crawl out of her shell, she jumps.
“Someone like me didn’t get to keep gifts like her. I knew it, but I wasn’t letting it stop me from climbing beneath the covers and pulling her body against mine. Where she belonged. Right or not. She belonged to me.”
As per usual, I loved seeing a strong man be brought to his knees by the woman who steals his heart. There is plenty of mystery, twist, and a whole lot of steam. You aren’t going to want to miss this one!

This is book number eleven in the Cavalieri Della Morte series. And is the first time I have read anything by Author Measha Stone. I have to say that this series has been one of the best I've read in a long time and has gotten better from book to book. Although this is a series, I feel as though each book would be fine as read as a stand-alone. In this book, we get Dustan and Cherise.

Let's start with Dustan. This is the first time we have meet Dustan and have really ever really heard of him. Dustan is, of course, one of Arthur's top Tebella Della Morte assassins and has been with him for over ten years. Now Dustan finds himself in kind of a pickle when one of his jobs goes sideways and someone has witnessed him taking out his mark. Now Dustan finds himself having to find the mark and deciding what to do with her. I liked that Dustan was a straight forward kind of guy.

Oh, Cherise... She's a young woman who grew up in a small town on a farm and once she could take off for the big city. She finds herself in a dangerous situation after she finally decides to come out of her shell and have a night on the town. I have to say Cherise made me laugh and I'm not particularly sure if its in a good way or not. On one hand, I liked that at times she seemed like she had a backbone and stood up for herself. But on the other hand, it annoyed me how many times she would just break down and seem a bit weak.

I have to say that although I did enjoy this book, it wasn't a favorite of mine in this series. In fact, as much as the past several books in this series have pulled me in and made me excited for this series, this one not so much. I guess I just wasn't feeling it as much!!!

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!

**I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion**

These men are so sexy, dangerous, and loyal to each other. They trust each other with their lives and the lives of the women who end up bringing them to their knees.

Dustan finds the woman who will bring him to his knees by mistake. While out on a job, he is approached by a woman who doesn’t look too sure of herself and doesn’t want the attention of the men the bar, so she thinks Dustan is the safe bet to sit by and start a conversation with. Little does she know he is probably the deadliest man in the whole bar.

Cherise “Cherry” wants to get out and make friends in Chicago. She’s been there for a year and spends most of her time sitting in her apartment and keeping to herself. After reading a book about coming out of her shell, she decides to go to the local bar. She doesn’t want to worry too much about the men coming onto her so she finds a man that looks like he doesn’t want to be bothered and sits next to him. This whole night will change her life in so many ways.

I loved Cherise and the determination she has as well as how she really does come out of her shell and be the strong, beautiful woman that should be. I love how Dustan helps her find that person and he doesn’t doubt her at any point, even when she doubts herself. They are a strong couple, and they each make the other stronger and better.

I give this story 5 bright stars. I love how the characters in this series show the same traits. Each couple brings out the best in the other and they are all stronger and better together. It has been a great series so far and I cannot wait for the other books in the series. I cannot recommend this story or this series enough. Everyone should one-click and read all of them. You won’t be disappointed.

“You want me to kill your uncle?” I asked softly, pressing a kiss to her neck.
“No.”
I pulled back, confused.
“I want to kill my uncle.”

Dustin was given a job, one he thought would be simple but sometimes the easy jobs turn into the most complicated and Cherise is that complication. A girl tries something different to break free of the monotony and she suddenly is a witness to a murder. Talk about shaking up the mundane as one chance encounter in a bar leads onto a kidnapping and other twisted events! Dustan recognises the fire in her eyes and the need she has for something more and during her captivity he encourages her to embrace who she really wants to be. Their time together helps Cherise to discover the truth about her family and the events that have lead up to this predicament. Everything is not as it seems and Dustan feels betrayed by someone he trusted. Their pairing adds a little light to this series as he never intends her harm other than to tan her backside a little... “bad things for bad girls”. They have an attraction to one another that they can’t deny and although deadly Dustan is more stealthy in his approach to murder than some of his Cavalieri brothers. Another amazingly captivating read in this breathtaking series of assassins and shades of grey in the darkness of the filth that is humanity seeking more money, more power, more control. I loved the flow of this story and how Cherise blossomed into a wickedly delightful headstrong woman who took life by the balls.

A five star really bad things read.

Cherise is an introverted woman who after reading a self-help book goes to a bar and starts a conversation with an attractive stranger. The stranger is Dustan, one of the Cavalieri, who is there to fulfill a mission:kill a gangster. Cherise follows him into the alley and witnesses the murder but manages to escape before Dustan catch her.
Dustan manages to find her and kidnaps her, but after talking with Arthur he learns that the gangsters have put a price on Cherise’s head. Then he goes from being her captor to her protector.
Cherise is gradually gaining more confidence in herself to the point that when she has to face those who have hurt her is perfectly capable of doing it herself.
All thanks to Dustan lessons that include a good spanking from time to time.😉☺️

I have to start by saying Dustan is a bit of an arse! If you knocked me out then proceed to "reprimand" my arse for a slight you perceived, I would plot your demise till my dying breath. Yes, you are sexy and sweet, but only when it suits you. Let us be honest here you would have done the same thing!
That being said and my rant over...
This was another engaging and entertaining episode of the Cavaleri Della Morte. Stone did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life. I do wish it had been longer. I think I have said that about most of the episodes, what can I say I want more.

Dustan has an easy assignment. After careful planning and what he thought would be the perfect execution of his plan; one curvy bombshell decides it was her night to test new waters, to reinvent herself. Right into the middle of his deed. Not sure what his orders will be he proceeds to "acquire" said curvy bombshell until her can figure it out. Let the chaos commence.
Cherise is a bit of an ostrich. She seems to prefer the whole "can't see it, it's not real" approach to life. Despite her perceived lack of courage, she was quite the little hellion.
Maybe Dustan didn't overreact but then again..
When the past became the present, there was no hesitation she was all in.

If this is your first time delving into the men of the Della Morte be prepared. These stories contain violence and bloodshed.
Let us not forget a bit of "target acquisition" and a whole lot of chaos and steamy romance.
This can be read as a standalone.

I love everything that I have ever read by Measha Stone, and Valor is no different. This is another of the Cavalieri Della Morte books, and each one of the books has deepened the shared world and given me a new view. That's one of the great things about shared world series.

Anyway, back to the story. Dustan is one of the CDM, and he has a job. While he is waiting to do his job, a beautiful woman named Cherry walks up to him and starts talking to him. And then all the fun and games start.

Dustan was more hardcore than some of the other guys we've seen in the series in some ways, and lighter in others, if that makes any sense. It does to me at least. It's an interesting mix. I also think that he is an honorable man, for a given definition of honor. He has his own code and he's going to stick to it.

Cherise is a dichotomy. She is bold and shy, assertive and submissive, and all at the same time. I really like her. When she gets afraid, she gets mouthy, and frankly, since that's what I do too, I cheered for her. Of course, I don't have someone waiting with a belt, so I'm probably better off than Cherise is.

I thought that this was a good story with characters who just didn't want to get out of my head.

If you love alpha males, dark romance, and females that don’t have to be saved, you will love this book. It has EVERYTHING you expect with this series. An amazing, attention-keeping, and epic book!!

I can’t say enough about this series. It has been a rollercoaster of alpha males and strong females. This author hit a home run with the plot, characters, and overall theme. These alphas make me hot and sweaty and these females make me jump for joy. The author does an amazing job of descriptions, emotions and situations. It is a masterpiece that you will be sad is over. The emotion, angst, feelings will consume you. This book was devoured in about a day (forget eating, sleeping, taking care of kids!!). I highly recommend this book, along with the rest of this series.

Cherry and Dustan find each other in a situation they don’t expect. What happens will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. Together, they are everything. It is a romance you will love to read because it takes you on twists and turns, but brings you right back to your ending you wanted.

Read this book. You won’t regret it. Go buy it NOW!!

Title: Valor (Cavalieri Della Morte Book #11)
Author: Measha Stone
Genre: Dark, Contemporary Romance
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

ARC read in return for an honest review.

This is the 11th book in the Cavalieri Della Morte series, all of the books can be read as a standalone and although this may be considered a dark romance it’s milder than some of the previous books from the series.

Dustan is an assassin he’s out on a job when Cherise chooses to pursue him of all people in a bar full of men. When his mark leaves Dustan goes to follow and get his job completed, however Cherise complicates things and in order to keep her quiet he finds himself having to kidnap her. Things between the pair escalate rather quickly and with no idea what is going to happen next, everything is thrown into the air the only thing is for sure is whatever’s going on between them is very real.

Great storyline and amazing chemistry between the two main characters make this a highly enjoyable read with the perfect mix of action, romance and a hint of darkness.

Valor is another installment in the exceptionally written Cavalieri Della Morte series.

The premise of the story is being in the wrong place at the wrong time and it's ramifications. As the story progresses, Cherise was in the right place at the right time because it brought her Dustan.

The attraction between Dustan and Cherise was evident in their first meeting and grew from lust to finally true love.

Dustan and Cherise's journey has a myriad amount of life altering changes. Cherise finds her true self - she is not the timid and unconfident young woman like in the beginning. Dustan finds although he is a ruthless assassin, he deserves true love.as well. He may have not been able to save his sister, but he is able to save Cherise because of the confidence he instills in her.

Again these enjoyable books are based on ruthless assassins but these strong female leads are overpowering these men with their confidence and willingness to trust and be strong. The strong female leads of the Cavalier Della Morte stories are the women whom stand BESIDE their men not BEHIND them.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

My orders were clear. Get in, get the job done, and get out. No loose ends, no witnesses. It's what I do. And I don't fail. Until now. She shouldn't have been there. And now I have a new job. Find and deal with Cherise Styles.

These books are absolutley amazing. I have yet to read a bad one and I have read them all. This is the story of Dustin and Cherise. He works with the Cavalieri Della Morte and has a job to do. To make it look like hes not after the guy he is after he talks to a girl in the bar and then excuses himself. He never expectets Cherise to walk out in to the alley and see what she sees. Now he has not choice but to take her with him. She too ends up wanted by the police and the family of the man that Dustin killed. There is a huge price on her head and she goes from witness to someone that Dustin has to protect. This book is fast paced and you will not be able to put it down. I loved every second and can not wait to see what the next book has in store for us.

This is the first book in the series I've read as I'm not usually one for darker story lines but the usual fair just hasn't been doing it for me lately. This book on a friends recommendation was surprisingly good and not nearly as dark as I'd feared. Yes, there were one or two scenes that had me going wtf?! (whippings are not my thing) but somehow the author managed to pull it off without it being too over the top. I've never read this author before but was impressed by her writing style, the story, the characters, all of it.

The story centers around our h that is at the wrong place at the wrong time, seeing something she shouldn't that sets her on a journey that helps her discover her own inner strength. If you're looking to step your toe into some slightly darker romances without the worry of 'what the hell am I getting into?!' then this (for me at least) was a good place to start.

I'm very interested in the rest of the series, though each book is written by a different author. The 'world' of assassin's itself has definitely piqued my interest.

Valor (Cavalieri Della Morte series) by Measha Stone is the next assassin Dustin. He is at a bar waiting for his mark. He has been studying him for a while and tonight is the night. While waiting for him Cherise comes in the bar. She stands out and doesn't seem to fit in. She ends up striking up a conversation with Dustin. When Dustin goes to take care of his mark Cherise walked in. Dustin can not have loose ends. When a price is put on her head Dustin needs to know why. This story is something else. Dustin is into punishment. He doesn't like bad girls and has no problem teaching them a lesson. On their journey Cherise learns so much about herself and discovers a person she didn't now she was. It is because of both Dustin and Cherise I really liked this story. I am loving this series. Each assassin has their issues which bought them to Arthur. Still looking forward to his story. 4 stars for me.

Dustan and Cherise's journey has a myraid amount of life altering changes. Cherise finds her true self- she is not the timid and unconfident young woman like she is in the beginning. Dustan finds although he is a ruthless assassin, he deserves true love as well. He may not been able to save his sister, but he is able to save Cherise because of the confidence he instills in her.

Again, these enjoyable books are based on ruthless assassins but these strong female leads are overpowering these men with their confidence and willingness to trust and be strong. The strong female leads of the Cavalier Della Morte stories are the women whom stand and walk BESIDE their men not BEHIND them.

Valor by Measha Stone is book 11 in the Cavalieri Della Morte series. Each book is its own story (standalone). In this book, we get Dustan and Cherise.
Dustin is an assassin who always accomplished his missions. On his current job, he is interrupted by Cherise who distracts him from his final goal. She was a total surprise so now what's he supposed to do? There's a motto- No witnesses....Ever! So now when this innocent woman needs protection from not only the Cavalieri but another threat what will Dustin do? The plot is full of action, twists, drama, passion and heat. I'm totally loving the alpha Male Dustin and his alpha ways!!! Cherise is beautifully sweet and shy. I liked how she went on her own journey to find out who she was and not what she was supposed to be. I enjoyed the characters and the chemistry between the main characters. I enjoyed the plot, the suspense and just the overall story. Great read!

My Rating: 4.5 stars *******

Determined to break out of her shell, Cherise leaves her comfort zone and decides to visit a local bar. When she witnesses her handsome drinking companion murder a man in the back alley she becomes a person of interest to not only the police but the Cavalerie Della Morte.

Dustan is forced to kidnap Cherise when the police start looking for her after he takes out a hit and she becomes a loose end. It becomes clear there’s a lot more to the shy medical receptionist with a sassy side and her past soon catches up with her as they travel the country trying to figure out why she’s a sudden target.

I liked Cherise, she was sassy and really an innocent in the world around her. Dustan just felt a little... off to me. I don’t know why, maybe he could have been more upfront with her, maybe he didn’t need to take his belt to her every time she did something in self preservation. Either way this was not so much dark but definitely well paced and well written.

This compelling read, has hitman Dustan at a bar waiting for his mark, Antonio to come in, collect his payoff from the bar as he did every Friday evening, then leave...except a woman who decided to get a drink at the club sat next to Dustan and struck up a conversation...then his mark was leaving, Dustan had to follow, so made excuse and left woman at bar...business done in alleyway, then back door opens and it's the woman at the bar...she sees body, gun and turns back into bar, but her purse is caught at door...a definite loose end...so Dustan has no choice but track down Cherice....kidnapping her...but there is more going on, a betrayal, her family's business and the family of the man Dustan shot looking for Cherise...hummmm...but you will need to read this twisting and turning tale to see what happens...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

I’ve said this before and I truly mean it! This Series just keeps getting better with every book!! This is the 11th book in the Cavalieri Della Morte Series. Dustan has been one of Arthur Calthorpe’s deadly Assassins for over ten years. His next assignment was a simple one but while following his mark, a woman distracts him from the target. Cherise Styles was a complication Dustan didn’t want yet he had no choice but to get involved. No witnesses....Ever! What will he do when this innocent woman needs protection from not only the Cavalieri but another threat? As always with this series there are many twists, plenty of action, and of course steaminess! I’m loving naughty, dominant Dustan! Told in dual POV

After Dustan hit his mark he noticed there was a witness. Being an assassin for the Cavalieri Della Morte he knows there can be no witnesses! Tie up all loose ends. Now he has to find the woman.

Cherise wished she'd never read the book and taken the author's advice. Now she's running for her life. Nope, I didn't see anything in that alley.

Once Dunstan locates Cherise it's brought to his attention that there is a price on her head. Now he must protect her until he can put the pieces of the puzzle in place.

"Bad things happen to bad girls.."

I'm so hooked on this series! Mystery, suspense and sizzling scenes!  Each book is a standalone.

Each book in the Cavalieri Della Morte Series is written by 13 different fabulous authors.

Dustan is a very demanding guy.

I will admit it took me a while to get into this story I didn't feel much of a connection with the characters that I felt from the other books. But as a part of the series it was still an enjoyable read.

Dustan is very demanding and loves control in all things. His simple get in and out job becomes a lot more complicated when Cherise stumbles into his life a the worst time, seeing something she shouldn't.
Dustan needs to take care of loose ends. But gets more thanks bargained for.

These two might not be my favourite couple but they are very intense and Hott togther. I liked how they bonded and Dustan helped Cherise become a stronger person even if it took a bit of punishment to get her there.
