The perfect gift for colleagues and friends alike, Star Wars Be More Lando is a tongue-in-cheek guide to winning over heroes and influencing droids. It features favourite moments from the ? Star Wars movies alongside hilarious advice and fitting Star Wars quotes.
This little blue book is part of a Star Wars themed motivational series that encourages readers to be more (insert character name).
It’s clearly written with tongue pressed firmly in cheek and contains useful and witty business advice from stylish rogue, Lando Calrissian. Accompanying this is a variety of useful quotes from other galactic business types including Jabba the Hutt, Han Solo, and Watto. There is also some input from Jedi masters. A number of photographs from the Star Wars universe pepper the book.
This was a quick, fun read that would be a perfect gift for family and friends who are budding entrepreneurs and Star Wars fans.
A caveat to this review. I am far outside the target demographic for this series.
This series is aimed at "budding entrepreneurs" not otherwise specified. Most libraries (where I picked this up; I don't buy books) interpret this as teens. I'm not so sure. I would say it is best suited for upper elementary students, fifth and sixth graders that want to sell more girl scout cookies or walk more dogs.
This book takes studio shots from the Star Wars films and pairs them with both quotes from the film (focusing on the character in the book's title) and snippets of information about business culture. They would be a nice addition to a Christmas stocking, or a good conversation piece for a Star Wars party, but there's not much substantive information here.
5.1/10 if you are a Star Wars fan you are probably giving this book a 10/10 but I’m a bit outside the target demographic for this one. At its core it’s actually a decent business book that motivates taking action in your life. On the downside it recommends wearing stylish capes and solving problems with your blaster one too many times.
It's cute, although secretly being Vader I prefer the volume on the Sith Lord. Still, if you like the ultimate Lucasverse fashion plate and businessman/hustler, this book is for you.
I read this after Be More Vader. Exactly the same structure, just as fun. Lots of quotes and pictures from the films with no particular order to them. Worth the 30 mins or so.
