Resolution Pact

Resolution: Good Text

Rate this book
He’s Rafail Slutsky, Olympic medalist. Women drool over his ripped body. He helps charities. He’s a god in a man suit.

I’m Cecily Spangler, geek. I snark. I draw. I huddle in my shell like a turtle. Nobody has ever heard of me.

Do I need to spell out how wrong we are for each other?

Luckily, I’m done with fantasies of celebrities I have no hope of ever meeting. On New Year’s Eve, I resolve to flirt with the nerdy guy I’ve been crushing on over on my favorite forum. I know nothing about him, but I just have this feeling we have a lot in common.

And then, joy of joys, he messages me back.

Before I know it, I’m in deeper than I ever expected. The connection between us SIZZLES. I only hope that if we ever meet in person, I’ll live up to his imaginings.

One small problem: he just sent me a text. He wants to meet me. Now.

I figure the worst that can happen is that we have no chemistry, right?

Wrong...because there's a lot more to this nerd than I ever dreamed...

3 resolution stars!

It's a new year, so why not start it out with a book about New Years Resolutions. A cute premise, a group of alumni sorority sisters are challenged by their past president.

Remember, ladies. Do it. Whatever it is you want to do. Wherever you have wanted to go. Whatever you want to try, to taste, to feel, to live....do it. This is our year.

Cecily is a bit of a recluse. Keeping mostly to herself, she enjoys drawing...body parts...naked ones...and has created a website for people to share their love of the craft.

Her resolution is that she'd "stop waiting for that mythical day in the future when I'd work up the nerve to try to make friends with ThinkTank, a guy I like from the BodyDraw forum." So, after finally reaching out via messaging, she meets ThinkTank (aka Rafail Slutsky - yes, I giggled at the name too).

This is a short story, so the relationship was pretty fast. The speed at which it went from innocent chatting to sexting was break-neck! It was a cute fun read though. I'll probably read more in the series to see what these other resolutions these sorority sisters make.

These flirt club books are fast and steamy.

Cecily is the perfect geek and is totally a fan girl of Rafail Slutsky, Olympic swimmer and way out of her league isn’t he? Knowing she needs to get over her obsession with the unobtainable and start living in the real world she makes friends with Thinktank on her chat forum and as much as she tries not too she soon develops feelings for a man she’s never met but he wants to meet can she take that chance?

Tank as he’s known to his friends didn’t know what to expect when someone suggested he check out this drawing site. Even less when he received a notification from Cecily but he soon finds himself wanting to know everything about this quirky woman who is taking up way too much of his thoughts . Can he convince her to meet him and how will she react to his secret?

Really lived this short story it was cute steamy and very safe perfect for a lunch break.

Good

3.5 Stars

This story wasn’t too bad. I enjoyed it but had a few issues the first being how obsessed Cecily was with Rafail. I don’t know how he could fall for someone who was so obsessed with him. There are sweet moments and I enjoyed their conversations. I wished we got Rafail’s POV. Rafail May have been hiding his identity but he was honest about most his life including his love life, I appreciated that. Megan was understandably upset when the truth was revealed but I completely understand why he did it, I would have too. I also wish there was a longer epilogue. I love epilogues.

Safety and Spoilers
Completely safe. No ow/om drama. H has been celibate for a bit but admits to being with a lot of women, h has also been celibate for a while. No abuse.

Sometimes you are just in the mood to read a short story and after reading the blurb of this story, I was very intrigued by it. And after reading it, I can say that it was a fun and entertaining read.

It may be a short story but it certainly had everything in it that I like in my story. The fact that it was about a nerd, is a plus for me. I like ‘nerd’ stories and Cecily was definitely one. The story is told from Cecily’s POV. Although I had a huge suspicion from the very beginning, who the mysterious nerdy guy could be, I found the story still fascinating to read. It was fun to see how Cecily was reacting to the nerdy guy comments and suggestions.

If you’re looking for a quick read, this story is certainly a good choice for it.

Fantasy come true

Its a funny turn around of event. Such a LOL when Cecily's been fantasizing and lusting a celebrity who turned out to be her text or sextmate. Clever and cute romantic comedy. Like it a lot!

As someone who has spent more time on Forums than I'd like to admit, and was online gaming before WOW or Mindcraft, this one made me laugh in the real world, earning odd looks from the hubby.

Well, this was a surprisingly fantastic book. It is the only Deana Farrady book I have read and the only book she has done for the Flirt Club (unless she has written under another pen name, which I know a lot of them do?) It’s such a shame if she hasn’t as I think this is one of the best Flirt Club books I have read!
It was such a lovely slow-burn romance. The texting and messaging between Cecily and Tank were really hesitant and real, to begin with, it then blossoming to be so much more. I did guess the twist but that just added to the anticipation a little to see if I was right!
The book had the most suitable and ideal ending, no cliches, just perfect!
The whole premise and layout of the book were different from most of the others I’ve read. They develop an attraction based solely on personality and not looks. This was a very refreshing take and made the story more realistic and relatable.
A brilliant book, I will have to hunt down some more of Deana Farrdy’s books, as I believe she has written more just not for the Flirt Club.

Funny, Sexy & Wonderful

Cecily & Rafail's (Tank) story was fantastic. I love a good geeky love story. Their interactions made me smile. It made me fondly reminisce on being the nerdy girl with big crushes on a celebrity. When a book can make you remember something from your past & smile. That ones a keeper for sure. Huge smile on my face when Cecily & Tank got their HEA. In case you're wondering, I got my HEA just different so I'm happy with life. Great read. Definitely recommend.

A Resolution Pact Short Story - These are a collaboration of authors bringing us short, sweet, sexy stories to give us Oooh's and Ahh's that make our hearts & panties melt in celebration of the New Year. I'm in love with these short story collaborations & am excited each time a new set is released.

One from a group of short stories where a sorority president sends out a challenge to members to make real new year's resolutions. Not the typical "going to loose weight" or "exercise more". Cecily, an art nerd through and through - to the point of setting up a social media site to draw art, decides to take her up on that and actually INITIATE (gasp!) contact with a person on the social media site. Someone she thinks is male, hopes is male, well, might be male - hoping. Also hoping around her age.

Messaging changes to texting and then to selfie photo trades - of their ... well, you need to read the rest.

I think Ms. Farrady captured the challenge and courage it takes when a nerd steps outside their comfort zone. And how hard it is for ANYONE to take a risk, even a hot, hot, hot celebrity. Funny and a little inspiring, while also erotic.

Cecily was the shy quite girl you would find in the corner at a party she hid behind her computer drawing her favorite celebrity crush, but she has a crush on one of her followers on her website. Thanks to the group sorority text that this is their year let’s not waste it she finally got the courage to send him a message in hopes he would want to message her privately. Once she did that they ended up hitting it off and he opened her up to someone she didn’t even notice but all for the good she liked who she was becoming since talking to him. When they agree to meet up for the first time she will finally get to meet who this mystery man is she just hoped he wasn’t an old man, little did she know she would never guess who she was actually meeting. Can you really get to know someone through a good text message some think so others it takes more to convince.

This one had a lot going for it, just from my preferences. Love the "falling in love sight unseen" thing, whether through texts or emails or letters. And (as a geek myself) love a good geeky love story. This short story lived up to my hopes. No annoying characters, no insta-love. In fact, it actually built rather slowly - an enjoyable change from what I've been reading recently! Quick read - just a short story after all (think that might have been my biggest complaint - would have loved more with these two). Well edited. No cheating, no ex or OW drama. Cecily's POV only. And a free find on Kindle!

What can I say? This story started off at a steady pace but quickly got to a story that in today’s online chat forum world, it utterly believable. Cecily is a chunky, geeky artist who idolizes a swimmer and lives in a world where she wants love and to connect with people while lusting over swimming celebrity Rafail. She has friends in the forum and eventually makes a resolution to actually befriend one. Little did she know; her reality was about to change regarding who she wanted and who she thought she wanted all from one conversation. It’s a short sweet read, and I think that I will look for other short stories by this author.

Cecily Spangler a self proclaimed geek who loves to draw and be a hermit.
Rafail Slutsky (tank) is an Olympic medalist who has had loads of women, however he wants the real thing.

On NYE Cecily reaches out to Tank through an art forum they are both members of and this starts months of texting and conversation. Will they finally get the courage to meet each other.

Sweet!

This was sweet and different. But I liked it. The relationship between Tank and Cecily seemed to progress somewhat slow at first but it was realistic and made us root for them. I had already realized who Tank was before he revealed himself but it was still sweet reading how it went.

Being brave and trying something new.

That she'd liked this guy that she met on a web sight. He wanted to make sure that she was interested and not the swimmer she idolize and made drawings of. They finally meet and it's the swimmer she hits the ceiling and he had to do some heavy talking to give him a chance.

Good book. The h is for sure a stalker. The sex was detailed nothing ground breaking. 3/5. The sexting was an interesting twist. Overall the book was interesting, I've never read that plot before which is a change of pace. The H was nicely done, really liked him. Liked both characters actually, even w the h being a super fan stalker. Good book, interest to read more by this author.

Cecily is looking to breakout of her shy dork ways. She gets her wish to meet her online friend Tank. Needless to say she gets a shock when they meet in person. Tank is a humble, hot dork and pushes her in exploring new things. Loved their connection and fun flirty texts. I read this using my KU subscription.

I just liked this story very much. I like different approach of letting the main characters know each other. I like how they communicate and learn a lot about each other before they go all the way.
Absolutely worth the read in spite of it is on the short side.
Recommendable read.

A nerd and a not so nerd?!?

They meet in an online forum. She is so very shy and self conscious about her looks. Can they really meet outside of online? Can she get brave enough to meet for real?

I enjoyed reading this story. It was funny and quirky. The chemistry between them when they finally met. One of my favorite sports and hobbies put in a book. These two characters were great to read about.
