A Tale of Two Cities: A New Year Novella

Rate this book
When people think of a holiday for love, they automatically come up with Valentine's Day. But who's to say that's the only one? Cheyenne Foster may be coming to visit with her heart set on bringing in the new year with one guy, but she quickly discovers the universe and the turn of the year may actually have someone else in mind for her… ;) A Tale of Two Cities Cute & Sweet Millennial Meets Over a Holiday, All With One Thing In Common; Cities. This is a short novella with a happy-for-now ending. If you prefer your stories longer, I'd recommend checking out another Alexandra Warren project. :)

"A Tale of Two Cities: A New Year Novella” was short, sweet, and straight to the point. It was such a fun read. The attraction between Cheyenne and Boston was immediate. I loved how they were there for each other. They know just how to ring in the new year, and I am 100% here for it!

Cheyenne was coming to visit who she thought was her boyfriend but when they didn't work out how she thought it would, Boston came to her rescue, twice. You could tell there was some attraction between the two of them and when people assumed she was his girl, they didn't quite dispel those rumors. They both were a welcomed distraction for the other on New Year's and what they thought would be just one night turned into something more. This was a good read with some spice and an interesting storyline that while short, you feel you got a full story.

Tropes: strangers to lovers

TW/CW: cheating

Representation: black romance

Favorite quote: “Oh no, I’ll make time! Good sex and good food are that important to me,”

Thoughts: Chile as someone who takes ubers often i’ve alwayed thought... “what if i fall in love with my uber driver” which never happens seeing how most of them are old people. But anyways. This story was cute, adn started out as a hot ass mess! Cheyenne’s boyfriend was a whole DOG and a cheater. And Boston was right there to help clean up the mess and she was there to clean up his! I loved the whole international football player part, and the fact that she really sat there and learned the game of football! They were so good, and the book wasnt super spicy but it was cute!

Cheyenne is in town to surprise her current boyfriend for new year but the surprise is on her. In order to flee from the disaster she spots her Uber driver Boston and gets back in his ride. The two end up going on a ride together to forget about their past relationships and find solace in each other.

- I just love a good novella and this did not disappoint! I think I liked this one more than the Christmas two cities.... idk its lowkey a tie.

- The fmc Cheyenne was a dancer and lover of love. She tried to surprise her man for the new year but fate had other plans. Instead she spent it with Boston the football player by day and uber driver by night lol. Boston was so thurl! He looked out and I definitely enjoyed his character.

- This book was fast paced and ik yall like arent all novellas lol. But not for me sometimes they can dragggggg, this story didn't! The characters were just enough to have me laughing and the drama was just enough to keep me interested without getting annoying. The book moved fast and we didn't get crumbs. Really was living for their story and their meet cute lol. What really did it for me was the beginning and ending of the book lol get into the book for that explanation.

- Id recommend! Perfect read for when you're in between stories.

You did it again

I am so loving these holiday shorts from Alexander Warren. As with the previous holiday shorts there was an immediate physical attraction between Cheyenne and Boston leading to a sexual attraction as ctikn and encounter. Each story ended with a for now happily ever after and the possibility of a future story. For all of the couples introduced in the holiday shorts I would love to read more about them in 2019.

More Than A Rebound

This holiday series is bomb! They are so complete while being so obviously short!!!!! I love that Boston and Cheyenne are so down to earth, and seemingly good people. I wouldn't mind cameos of them in other projects just to keep up with them. Every installation brings me a new "favorite" couple. I loved them all!!! I'm so happy we got to usher in the new year with Boston and Cheyenne!!!! So fun!!!!

Fun, quick read!

I'm loving all these A Tale of Two Cuties holiday novellas. The male leads never disappoint! Cheyenne and Bos were so cute together. And as always we get to revisit previous characters. And this time I was already familiar with them, bonus!! Still working on reading all this author's previous works. But she's made reading novellas one of my favorite past times!

Good Book

I enjoyed reading this novella. Cheyenne didn't know she was not the only one in Drew life. The uber driver Boston slipped up about dropping another woman at where she was going. After finding out she was being played she left. Boston helped her forget Drew and She helped Boston forget is ex. I am glad they started a relationship together. Can't wait for your next book.

I love this

Okay so it seems all the stories are the same to some point but this gave a fresh take. I also liked that the characters felt like someone I would hang out with. I love the writing from this author and plan to read more of her work in 2024. I giggled and that is always a plus. Best part is it was short and helped me reach my 2023 reading goal. Though I do wish I could more about this couple. I would 100% recommend.

I hated it had to end 😔

Author Alexandra Warren, ik I’m late asf reading this third and final installment to A Take off Two Cities, but my TRL is long asf, lbvvs.
Drew/Andy and Boston ex was 🗑️
Cheyanne and Bos were the perfect distraction for each other, and while being each other’s distraction, they realized they wanted more from each other. These two were a blast, and ik it was a novella, but why’d it have to end so soon😭

LOVE this series!!!

Such a cute story! Absolutely loved Cheyenne and Boston, the spin on the way that they meet, and the way that Cheyenne shook off Drew’s foolishness and kept it moving. And the fact that we get a little more of Miss Annie is definitely a win.

This series is so bomb! Keep doing your thing, Ms. Warren!!!

Starting the year off right!

I seriously love these series of A Tale of Two Cities. The Halloween and New Year novella are my favs. This one included characters from my favorite series (FWB), so it really made me excited!
I love seeing how Cheyenne and Boston got together. They were each other’s savior from a broken heart.

And another one

I loved this one just like I loved the others!! She’s got a way of making you be in the night with the characters and wanting everything they want for themselves. I can’t tear myself away from the books as they come out and I can’t wait for the next holiday to slide thru for another installment. Keep me coming please Ms Warren!!!

A Perfect Holiday Finale

Cheyenne and Boston, yes to very different cities namesakes coming together to form a more perfect union. Yes, I'm taking liberties with the constitution, but sue me... On second thought maybe not. But for real the New Year conclusion book should tied me over until next week... AW!

Sad it had to end

I seriously am upset that this had to end. This may be my favorite of this collection so far. I'm so interested and I hope there's more to Boston and Cheyenne's story, guess maybe I'm a sucker for a good sports romance. I can see her cheering him on at games and him bopping at a concert she's dancing in. I absolutely loved this.

WOW!!

Reading this Novella was like looking at my situation from the outside. I can totally understand how two people can get together and just click rhe very first time. Boston and Cheyenne's story was everything!! I would love to at least know how far their relationship makes it.
