Bridal boutique owner (and secret witch) Aria Whitmore has hit the jackpot: dress designer to the rich and famous, Zola Cates, will be holding her first ever sample sale... at Aria's store!
"Winters will have you giggling into your book!" Aria prepares tirelessly for the showing, with the help of her assistant Sarah, and her wise-cracking parrot Kiwi. (Ok, so maybe Kiwi’s “help” isn’t quite so helpful…)
However, when the day of the sale arrives, Aria discovers a nightmare in her normally glamorous store: the shop wrecked, the sale items destroyed, and the dead body of one Carrie Mallory!
Who could benefit from the death of bride-to-be Carrie? The dark witch of the woods, Hazel Crane, whom Aria never quite trusted? Carrie’s former best friend, Brittany, whose wedding Carrie vowed to ruin? Or Brittany’s mother, who defends her daughter at absolutely any cost? Or did Zola sabotage the sample sale herself…?
When her handsome kinda-sorta-boyfriend Detective Jack Bowers can’t break the case, Aria and her cute pal Kiwi take matters into the own hands to save the reputation of Blue Moon Bridal!

Designer Sales and Secrets is the second book in the Wedding Bells and Magic Spells Mystery Series. Though it can be read as a standalone, it's best read in series order.
This is a humorous cozy mystery featuring a strong female protagonist, some unusual friends and family, and a mystery that needs solving! It has no graphic gore, bad language or sex.
. Designer Sales and Secrets is the second book in the Wedding Bells and Magic Spells Mystery Series. Though it can be read as a standalone, it's best read in series order. It focuses on Aria Whitmore, wedding specialist, and a secret witch.

Aria's familiar is a parrot named Kiwi, who has his own distinct personality, preferences, and pet peeves. Other characters include her mother, Donovan - her mother's boyfriend - the mayor, Jack - the intriguing detective who bends the rules for Aira, Sarah - Aria's assistant and Hazel - a black magic witch. There had been a special sale of a famous designer's dresses until someone was found dead in the boutique. Ms. Whitmore was questioned by the police, about the murder and it had to be kept closed temporarily negating the special event. She was determined to help solve the mystery in order to reactivate business.
Aria's determination to resolve the murder takes her on several seemingly wild goose chases, some of which were potentially dangerous. After she sets up a sting, everything culminates together and the murderer is identified. the police requested that she advise them when she has new evidence, instead of investigating on her own.
I found this a lighthearted and clean dose of entertainment and I would recommend it to other readers fond of cozy mysteries unless you find artifacts of magic offensive. If you enjoy paranormal and/or mystery, then this may be a good choice for you!
I just love this series, I just love Aria she doesn't look for trouble but it most definitely finds her, Kiwi with his smart comments and addiction to cheese puffs and they mysterious Hazel Crane. This time Aria has managed to snag a famous bridal dress designer to have her sample sale in her shop, before the same has even began there are brides and mother of the brides fighting, but thats ok right? Unfortunately fighting turns into death and once again Aria is an initial suspect and needs to find the real killer before her business is ruined. Is is a bride? is it a brides mother? is it a dress designer? is it a store owner or is it someone else?! There are plenty of twists, mystery and laughs to keep you entertained with this one!
This was another delightful cozy from Ms. Winters. I usually don't read books with witches etc. but this is my year for cozies so I decided to try them. I'm really glad I did. This is very funny and so far the magic is tame so I'm enjoying it. Really like Aria, the main character, and her bridal shop. I like her familiar too..Kiwi's a parrot and can be really snarky! Love it! This time there was an exclusive designer sale scheduled for the shop but a bride winds up dead before the sale could start. Aria and her sidekick have to solve the murder to save the shop and the sale (along with the designer). It's quite a ride!! And the ending is totally unexpected! Good job Ms. Winters! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Aria, her parrot familiar Kiwi, and her bestie Sarah are back to solve another mystery from their bridal boutique. The plot was a bit banal: I deduced the murderer, the motive, and the means just past the halfway mark; and, I'm SO over the whole sophomoric "does-he-like-me-will-we-date" thing between Aria and Jack. Thank goodness for Hazel Crane, the only truly intriguing character, and now there's a potentially interesting development on the parental front for Aria. This reader is hoping for better with this series!
Aria is scheduled to have a sale of designer wedding dresses. Zola is the designer and women are lined up outside of Aria's bridal salon the day before the sale blocking the other stores and sidewalks. They hand out tickets to get into shop for tomorrow's event. When Aria comes in the next morning she find a body in the show room, it's one of the women who were fighting yesterday. Aria and others try to figure out how she got in to a locked store and why was she killed. Interesting story and characters.
In this series of the witch series. Aria , the good witch owns a bridal shop, she is dealing with murder in her shop. With the help of her parrot, kiwi, and friend, sarah, and using the town gossip, she lays a trap. The seri e just keep getting better and better, I can't wait to read more of aria and kiwi to see what's coming next.
I always enjoy every book this author writes and this new series is no exception. It’s full of mystery, humor and delight. There’s a quirky familiar/sidekick, a spastic best friend, a mother who meddles and a n awkward detective. I loved it.
The storyline is good and is fast paced. Again, I really like the characters but Aria accusing the wrong person is getting old. Especially since that person has enough standing to ruin her business.
