I had mixed feelingd for this one. It's a good story. Just that I want them to stop fighting their feelings and accept it especially her.
The story is about Devlin and Joyann.
Her aunt died a few months ago and left her house to her. It's her safe haven. Now that she already moved in, she wants to open her own bakery shop. She's excited and happy. Only she has a pain in the a** hot neighbor, Devlin.
He's a fireman. He likes to annoy her. It's his way of checking her and seeing her. He doesn't know how to handle his feelings for her and I don't like how he handles it in some ways.
At first, he keeps on saying she's not his type. He even hides from her one time. It feels like he's ashamed of her. Then Joyann's so insecure of herself. She doesn't think someone like him would really want her. I just want her to be more confident about herself and him to be sure about his feelings for her. Maybe, I'm just used to JS having heroes who know what they want and get what they want.
It has a nice epilogue.

"My Holiday Joy" is the story of Joyann and Devlin.

Absofvkinglutely inlove with this book!! No and NO! The male character of this book was kinda different with JS's another character. Nope.
The story was about our two main character Joyann Reese, the baker and Devlin Monroe, the firefighter.
Joyann moves to the nighborhood, next to Devlin and gracefully became his Pita. Pain on the ass. Bwahahahahaha!!!! And Devlin became the Sour-face neihbor to Joyann.
Even when they tried to avoid each other but meh. Imposible! Especially from Devlin. Of course he can't. Of course. This was bad... this girl goes on on how she's so over what anyone thinks and then she's all shy & vulnerable. The clueless manly man is bordering on abusive with his inability to make up his mind. The chemistry between them is very hot and for long into the story that's all there is to it because to him she's prettty much a convenient object, until he gets "hooked" and then he's ok with her being a person.

Loved this book and the hero was most definitely different from most of Jordan Silver's alpha male character. Hero, Devlin was a jerk, a trip, and an A-h*le with a capital A from the very start. He fell for his sweet yet sassy next door neighbor, the baker, Joyann but she was not his type or so he claimed. At times he was a bit childish trying to start confrontations with her to get a rise and when he got bother well jerk Devlin would just walked away from his feelings. Finally when Devlin came around and stop talking to himself (lol), he discovered Joyann was exactly what he needed, wanted in his life and she, him.

Really really wanted to give this 5 stars but......while it was a fun holiday read and had great push and pull from the main characters and that almost enemies to lovers trope that I love, I still wasn't 100 percent convinced that Devlin was all in. It took until the last couple chapters for me to be able to safely say that he loved her and not just her vajajay.
Also, I considered it safe for me but some might not like the fact that he is self professed player and is sleeping with other women until about 2 weeks before he gets together with Joyann. She's seen chicks sneaking out of his place so he wasn't even being discreet but once they're together there's no one else for him.

JS is always a one click for me. I'll even buy her books without even reading the blurb (and will continue to do so). This is one of the lowest scores i've given her books and it was due mostly to the alpha treating her badly and acting like a 13 year old boy. what alpha HIDES behind a car to avoid the girl he then screws like 5 minutes later? What alpha RUNS (literally runs) from a female especially after she "nearly" died in a fire 3 seconds ago? And I mean "nearly" loosely because she was unconscious in a burning/smoking house and then 10 seconds later is baking something for the fire squad? JS books have unrealistic story lines (which i freaking love. hello 11, 12 and 13 inches) but this was just.....silly-unlistic? can i add that to webster? and for an alpha, he just left her? At the beginning his jerk-ness was funny and hot bc it was included with banter and all alphas are a-holes most of the time. but he was a jerk through and through. and then after f-ing without protection he up and leaves her? i was like....wait, he was supposed to claim her and go all alpha maybe-baby. don't get me wrong, the sex was hooooootttt. but the alpha being the way he was, i felt like she settled.

I think I liked this book even though it wasn’t a super Alpha male, insta-love story, because it was relatable to so many females who aren’t a size “6” and have the perfect body and have insecurities that maybe they don’t deserve someone special. That was Joyann.
Joyann didn’t think she was good enough for someone like Devlin, who himself thought her not to be his “type”. As we know love knows no sizes, and the heart and other “things” want what they want!
Jordan hits a high note as I think this is a real holiday love story with all the Jordan Silver goodness included!

A lot of places I was smiling or out right laughing.
Joyann and Devlin are different from one another. Then something changes and put each other a roller coaster of emotions and each of them handle those emotions differently.
Joyann did not come from a nurturing family her step-mother wanted Joyann to be something she simply wasn't.
Devlin was confident and he knew he was attractive. The women who fell into his lap confirmed that. Now he has who a new neighbor who flat out runs him the wrong way.

Good story. I liked the plus sized sixteen heroine. I loved her sass. Also the fact that she was a virgin. Even though it's done to death. The male lead is a manwhore womanizer or whoremonger. Take your pick your choice. Who is an ass and has a huge fat penis. Who has a type that's not her. But he is hot and at times seems to want to make her life difficult. Someone said in an earlier review that My Holiday Joy sounded as if it was written by a 12 year old boy, and I could not agree more. The gratutitous use of the words shit and ass was my first clue. The use of off-color sexual references like cock-snot was my second clue. The fact that Devlin was so jealous and possesive, he ripped off her outfit, made her change and gave her hickeys on her chest and back to keep her from wearing an outfit he deemed too revealing was my third clue. The typos and errors were out of control. Basically, it was a hot mess. Consider yourself warned.

Oh what's not to love from "thin line between love and hate" kinda romance. This one hit the homerun with that theme. (1) Short but enough details on the background story of both MCs. (2) Steamy scenes with a promise to heat up your kindle. And (3) the built up tension that heat up the dynamic between MCs. I liked how their relationship grew from their everyday banter, as well as how they're both trying so hard to deny what's actually happening (while others could see it perfectly clear). A truly cuteness and delight to read on holiday season!

One of the greatest things about Jordan is her ability to make you laugh while reading a sexy, erotic story! In “My Holiday Joy”, you get a view into Devlin’s crazy mind with his inner monologue, which had me laughing til my sides hurt. I love the banter between the characters and how they get past their own hang ups in order to find everlasting love. No one writes a (HOT) love story better! Also, LOVE this cover!!!

I am in the minority here, I just didn't care for the actions of the H, a personal thing, not bad writing. I also wouldn't consider it safe due to him dating after he met the h, even if he was fighting his feelings at the time.

This author has been hiding from me and after reading my holiday hot I'm hooked. This book was funny and sweet but so dirty I mean the smutty dirtiness was off the charts and I loved every minute of Devlin and Joy. I a! Telling ya read this book! The only thing I would of likes is if they would have done more dirty talk most of it was in there heads but everything else was perfect. Safe too!

This was crazy
This book was so crazy. I kept laughing my a@@ off. I look very MS silver and her Alphas. They are always super possessive and just plan nuts. BBW heroine was fun and has realistic hang ups about herself that the hero shoots down like duck in the sky.

You know the book is a good one when you speed read the entire book to the end. Then you flip the page dang it's over that is what happened a minute ago. Dang it.

Some of the beginning was a little boring but by the end of the book I was hooked. Juicy details, the lonely big girl finally gets her man!!

A little holiday cheer!
I love Jordan Silver. This book made laugh and brought a year to my eye. As a bigger girl I understand the Joy character. Her hero is wonderful. Reminds me a bit of my own husband. He doesn't see size he sees the woman. But then the size becomes a bonus. If you need a smile i recommend this book.

Let the fireworks begin
This is a love story about a guy, who was a little bit of a man slut. That thought he had one type until he was knocked on his rear. Also about a young woman, who grew up well if financially, but not always with self esteem. She pushes all the right button without meaning too. Great story you will truly enjoy.

Enjoyable
Good read but is skips the part when he decides to put a ring on it. For this type of book that is an important moment. Somehow we got the build up and clash but not the clincher. That would make the story a five and not a four. Plus we spent 30% learning about her parents and they never meet him.

Yes! Damn good read!
Jordan Silver delivers with book! I fell in instalust ! It was damn good I was hoping for more chapters! The story really was sweet and sexy! I felt I was reading some of her older stories! She’s back and she delivered big time with this holiday story!!!
