This is a pretty good book. I haven't read through the entire thing, but I have gone to different sections at different times for some reference and ideas when I working on color schemes. I enjoy all the visuals...I am not good at overly wordy books that try to explain a concept when a picture says it all. Good reference book to have on your shelf if you are a web designer, graphic designer or digital scrapbooker.
I thought I knew a lot about color before I read this book. This guide takes you beyond the basic colors and deals with palettes and the messages they convey in marketing. I have been examining the colors used in my guild sisters' online shope and their avatars. I've been looking at company logos. I have dissected my own avatar and store banner for my online shop and am in the process of "redecorating" to convey the message I want.
Filled with luscious color and lots of information.
This is a book of color palettes with some brief explanations about color psychology as it relates to marketing.
I am disappointed in the lack of information in the front of the book about what color is, how we see it, and any explanation at all about the different color wheels used by designers. Looking at the color palettes in the back of the book, cyan and magenta are included but the CMY wheel is not presented in the book - only the RYB wheel is shown. There's no cyan or magenta present in the RYB wheel, so if you follow the advice of the book (which clearly uses the CMY wheel for finding color harmony), you'll not be able to make the same color combinations that are shown.
Color grading is an essential part of video, making color something I really need to understand. This book explains the color wheel, what each color communicates, and cultural color norms. The latter half contains various color templates to be used in any and every situation. This is a great resource for anyone who uses color in the workplace--or any place, for that matter!
Great reference book that does a good job of associating the emotions and feelings behind various color schemes. Super use of color (obviously) and imagery.
This book is the best for knowing what colors go together to project a certain mood or style. I reference it for designs often but I also use it when decorating my house.
This is an excellent color book for combinations to create a feeling in color and for beginning designers who are challenged with selecting colors and combinations.
