Even the brightest places have shadows.

Stevie is sweet and shy—the only hint of an independent spirit comes from his lilac hair. For years he's harboured a crush on his best friend, Adam, who is everything Stevie isn't. The problem? When it comes to love, Adam is a bit slow on the uptake.

On top of that, Stevie fears the escaped killer known as Harlequin is targeting his friends, and clings to his role managing the merry-go-round for some semblance of normality. But someone is watching from shadows even the summer sun can't penetrate.

Realising that life can be all too short, Adam takes steps to ensure that Stevie will be his. All his protective instincts kick in when Stevie attracts some unwanted—and very dangerous—attention, but he can't take care of him alone. The group of friends needs to band together because the bright lights and whirling horses of the merry-go-round won't be enough to keep Stevie alive. Some killers are far too good at hiding in plain sight.

Reader This book contains a brief scene of sexual assault.

Lucinda lives in a small village in the English countryside, surrounded by rolling hills, cows and sheep. She started writing to fill time between jobs and is now firmly and unashamedly addicted.

She loves the English weather, especially the rain, and adores a thunderstorm. She loves good food, warm company and a crackling fire. She's fascinated by the psychology of relationships, especially between men, and her stories contain some subtle (and some not so subtle) leanings towards BDSM.

If you guys haven't read L.M. Somerton’s books, you seriously need to. Her books are so full of fun, usually a smartassy sub or two who get in to lots of trouble, and a nutjob who likes to go around killing people. See?? Loads of fun. This series cracks me up so much. I love all these little subs. So snarky. But alas, yes, there is a psycho in this one.
If you haven't read book one, stop and go do so. This is an ongoing series. If you have read book one, you will remember Garth had his hands full of a psycho named Harlequin. Garth may not be out of the woods, but in this one, the focus gets shifted to Stevie. But it's not Harlequin, so far, who's after him. Or is he? 'Colt’ puts some bad moves on Stevie, forcing him to find a package that was left for him somewhere on the carousel Stevie operates. Full of fear for his and his new boyfriend, Adam, Stevie does all he can to find it. And quietly. But Adam knows Stevie's afraid of something and worms it out of him. When Colt come for the package, he realizes he's been set up and takes off with Stevie in tow. But things get even more out of hand then and Stevie doesn't know if he will make it out alive. He hopes Adam finds him before it's too late.
I am so in love with these characters. They are so fun. Even when dealing with psychos, they know how to add the snark. For years Stevie has been crushing on Adam, hoping Adam will ask him out or something. Wondering if he will have to be the first one to make a move. Nothing like a little fear and the attack of a killer to make you open your mouth. I was so happy for Stevie. He was finally getting his dream man. If the nutso will stay away. And Adam makes me happy because he takes care of Stevie. He's so gentle with him. Even when he's being all Dommy. Just a perfect little match.
I'm so ready for book 3 already. Senior psychopath needs to be brought down and Zach needs to get his man. I was also happy that this book had some surprise visitors. That made my day so much and I laughed so hard. You guys really need to read this series. Just makes my day.

Those familiar with L.M. Somerton’s Fairground Attractions series will remember the college age gang of friends who are spending their summer working at a local amusement park. This installment, Merry-Go-Round, features two of those guys, Stevie and Adam. The two young men have been attracted to each other for a while, but haven’t ever moved their relationship forward from friends to lovers. When Adam says that he wants them to move forward and be more than friends, Stevie is thrilled that Adam wants to be his Dom. Then Stevie is approached the next day by a man with a gun and all hell breaks loose.

These novellas make a lot of assumptions—one being that relationships seem to go from zero to 360 in a heartbeat and it doesn’t faze the guys involved. The other is that a Dom is always pared with a submissive and there is no talk of safe words or other boundaries set by either man. I assume this is done by the author for expediency’s sake, given that each story is short and light on relational backstory, but it certainly stretches the imagination. After all, what are the chances of a group of guys all either being subs or Doms and liking the same things? Essentially, you have to check any sense of realism you may have concerning a BDSM partnership at the door, so to speak, and just enjoy the way these men interact with each other. That enjoyment is certainly helped along by the mystery element of these stories, which is really well done.

This is the second installment of the Fairground Attractions series and best read after Ghost Train.

The investigation to put down the international smuggling organization that operates on the amusement park's grounds is ongoing and the Harlequin killer is still on the loose. The bright side,if I can call it that way,of this dangerous situation is that Adam's fear for Stevie's life is the push he needs to admit his feelings and finally pursuit a relationship with the cute, sweet smaller man.

At long last,Stevie gets his wish to belong to the Dom of his dreams, and they're so,so hot together! But he also finds himself the target of a violent criminal and the poor guy has to dig up all his courage trying to get out of it alive. Good thing that he can go home and be comforted by some sexy times with Adam, right?

The story is fast-paced and the intriguing combination of sexiness, danger, love and humor. I really liked the way the friends interact, their banter and how much they care for each other.

This series is so much fun and I can't wait for the next book.

This is the second book in The Fairground Attractions Series. I liked this book better than the first one the writing was okay. I do wish that it was longer things just don’t feel complete as short as these books are, but I have enjoyed reading them. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. Adam and Stevie are the MC’s of this book. The elements of BDSM are light and not hardcore. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Merry-Go-Round is the second book in the Fairground Attractions series by L.M. Somerton. It is a friends to lovers story with elements of mystery, suspense, action, danger, humor and BDSM. It's a quick read but fun and exciting. Stevie and Adam definitely brought heat. Cant wait to read the next book.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Book 2 in the fairground attraction series is very similar to book one as it’s a continuation of the first so if you have not read that then I recommend going back to the beginning.

This time around Stevie and Adams turn. As in the first one it’s all very insta love. I get they where friends to begin with but it’s all very sudden one day and they live together.

That’s my only gripe though as is a fun story and it’s entertaining. I’m looking forward to the last in the series where the one single friend hopefully meets his match and the killer is reveled.
